Name: Kanzaki Satsuki
Age: 8
Gender: Female
Character's Physical Description:
Physical Appearance:
Satsuki has piercing amber-colored eyes that for some reason would remind oneself of freshly-melted caramel. When not on her usual angry face, her eyes would revert back to their sleepy and soft nature. Her hair on the other hand is thick like a lion's mane. Actually having almost the same color as her eyes only having a darker shade. She is somewhat pale and it depends on a person's opinion if she is skinny or slender and seems to be a bit under weight. She usually has a mischievous grin to accompany her fiery eyes but when alone, she naturally (unconsciously) pouts her lips. Satsuki is as tall as any eight year-old girl, though unlike any girls of her age, she's somewhat quick on her feet and has good balance.
Clothing:
Satsuki wears an old, slightly worn-out moss green-colored qipao owned by her grandmother when she was young, accompanied by a pair of tight black shorts. If you look closely you would see some repair stitches here and there, but mostly due to her gramma's excellent sewing, one wouldn't notice them.
Character's Mental Description:
Satsuki is brash, dreamy, and albeit negligent for social formalities. But beyond this somewhat harsh exterior, she is actually quite timid and instinctive. This is because of the social burden of carrying the somewhat infamous moniker of "The Traitor's Daughter" given by people around her. Because of this she developed a rough external shell to soften the blow whenever people talk down on her. She usually acts out when people say mean things about her or her parents and pulls pranks on them as a form of retribution. When children her age actually try to befriend her (and this rarely happens), she becomes aversive and most of the time reject the possibility of attachment to others.
History:
Satsuki was born to a shinobi mother who met, fell in love with, and married a local shop owner. Kanzaki Jiru took over his father's diner when the old man passed away. He worked hard each and every day to continue on his father's life's work and legacy; and within just a couple of years, Jiru's diner became one of the more popular go-to eating spots within the entire village. He met Nanako, an upbeat shinobi who has just been promoted into Chuunin during one of those hectic mid-week lunch breaks in his diner. The young man was awe-struck for the first time in his life, thinking to himself that he has probably seen "The One". After some time, Nanako eventually agreed to go out with Jiru on a date and the rest was history.
A few years after their marriage, the couple found out that Nanako was pregnant with their first child. Naturally, Jiru was delighted of the news but Nanako seemed a bit shaky of the thought of bearing a child. She was having second thoughts due to the nature of her job as one of the shinobi of their village, but Jiru guaranteed her that everything will be alright and that she didn't have anything to worry about. Surprisingly, the nine waiting months passed by pretty fast. Nanako gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and the couple named her Satsuki, since she was born at the first day of the fifth month of the year. The bliss of having an infant gave the couple what seemed to be an endless dream. But this dream started to wane for the mother. Nanako's personality began to slowly change. She was still herself in every sense, but her behavior towards Jiru and her daughter started to become bland. She still did her role as a mother and a wife, but as each succeeding day ended so did a fragment of the woman that the shop owner fell in love with.
When Satsuki turned five, a miracle (or so Jiru thought) happened. His indifferent wife set up a surprise party for their daughter in their home. She invited some relatives and their parents to their home. Nanako was back to her old self again. The little girl's birthday came and gone and everything seemed to be back to normal until that fateful day. Nanako, with her team, was sent on a reconnaissance mission a few miles outside of Maruishi. While on patrol, Nanako allegedly blindsided and attacked her two teammates, seemingly killing them before running off. This claim was proven true as one of her teammates was found and gave a brief report before dying. According to him, she allegedly drugged them because right after eating on a break, the two of them, excluding Nanako started to feel dizzy. The woman then hastily attacked them one at a time; slitting the throat of the first before proceeding to take her kunai to his abdomen.
Word quickly spread of the incident. And as human nature suggests, people would show their cruel nature. Jiru became a prime social target. He was lambasted and scorned with insults every day, being slapped for the disgrace and the shame that his wife has brought not only to his family but in general, to the village. His business fell quickly right after the incident, forcing him into bankruptcy. The poor young girl who was just starting to learn about the world didn't escape this disgusting onslaught, being labeled as "that traitor's daughter". This pulverized Jiru's already shattered heart. The negative frenzy would eventually die down but as always, the damage has already been done. Kanzaki Jiru would hang himself after over a year of humiliation from the people around him.
Fast-track two years later. Satsuki is now living with her fraternal grandmother who owns a small fruit stall on the outskirts of the village. She has grown to understand on her own (at least the gist of things) what transpired about her parents. It is near impossible for her to make friends since she has the label of a traitor's daughter. Parents forbade their children to befriend her, nonetheless go near her. This turned the little girl into a mischief. She would occasionally prank people, especially when she hears them talking about her or her parents. Over time, she became good with these pranks to the point where now, her grandmother has told her to put the 'skills' that she developed into good use. "Maybe you can use that stubbornness of yours to make people respect you."
