There was a dive bar in the city of Kurosawa that Kaori ducked into. The outside of the bar looked dank and decrepit while the inside of the bar looked the exact opposite. The bar had a modern feel to it; too modern. Hookahs lined the walls of the establishment in the well-light rooms, booths, and bar. The entirety of the bar was managed by scantily clad women wearing clothes that leave very little to the imagination. Regardless of that fact, they seemed to really enjoy their jobs. They'd greet customers as they entered and bade farewell to those that left. They'd sit with their patrons to drink with them or hold a conversation with them while they ate; all with a radiant smile upon their faces. Even with all of this, the main thing that attracted Kaori to this hole-in-the-wall was the picture of the microphone drawn in neon lights.
Kaori entered the building with two extremely busty, extremely attentive women; a blonde and a girl with purple hair (most likely dyed). Kaori waved to the two and walked passed them, making her way to the bar, ordering a couple shots and several pints of sake. She swiftly received 3 shots and enough sake to satisfy 2 people. She quickly downed the shots and grabbed the sake set and made her way to the karaoke section. This place seemed to have been ignored for the most part. Plumes of smoke bellowed in the restaurant with people puffing on the hookahs. They were mainly older business men and business women taking hits from the long-pipes, causing their own little slice of heaven to smell like their choice of flavored tobacco.
Upon reaching the corner where the karaoke machine resided, Kaori sat in front of the screen and flicked through the book until she found the song she wanted. She typed in the number of the song and pressed play. Picking up the microphone, she cleared her throat, turned the microphone on and began to sing.
The song was short and sweet. Her years of practice paid off as her voice rang through the bar like an angelic melody. This caused everyone in the bar to stop what they were doing to put all eyes on Kaori. Kaori wanted to be a singer ever since her younger days when she heard Yume sing. During those times, she was given a boom-box from Yume and she was forced to hide the piece of technology as that was considered taboo in her family; thanks to the influence of the demon residing in the Dragon Statue. Any singing other than ceremonial songs were also forbidden by the demon's edict.
After the song came to it's conclusion, the usual clammering within the bar stood-still for a brief moment. Smiling and nodding at the swift performance, she sat back down in her seat at the Karaoke corner before pouring herself sake and start to drink. Her cheeks were painted red as the alcohol began to take a firm grasp upon her.
