She is introverted by nature, and, as such, often opts for her free time to be spent alone -- often in in the Bibliotheca Conscientiae. [spoilername="History"]Age 0: Kimiko is born to Ieyoshi Namika and an unknown man. Is raised by Namika alone, with financial assistance from the Ieyoshi family.
Age 3: Ieyoshi financial assistance is ended. Namika moves outside of the village in order to find work.
Age 4-9: Kimiko assists her mother with the jobs she accepts. Around age 5, it is discovered Kimiko is chakra sensitive and is able to manipulate it into the fire element, without having been taught. At her mother's request, Kimiko makes efforts to not practice/use chakra around any others. As she had before joining the school, she continued assisting her mother with work; seasonally, she would travel with farmers to sell their goods in the village, and during the other months, she would assist whatever task her mother was doing. At the age of 9, she is accepted into a civilian school for general education.
Age 10: Kimiko shows interest in musical department of the school; begins learning the violin. In order to practice, she stayed at the school longer, leaving the burden of the jobs on her mother. Due to health complications from earlier in her life and the stress that came with more strenuous work for longer hours, the work began to take its toll on her health. In the following months, Namika regressed in health and was soon bedridden. By the end of the year, she had died due to complications which were never explained to Kimiko. Without any money to continue her schooling, Kimiko dropped out soon after. Farmers in the area were willing to give her the work she had been doing, but it wasn't enough to sustain on her own. Out of desperation, she went against the wishes of her mother and with the chakra her mother wanted her to hide; additionally, she volunteered to join the village's shinobi academy, as those who were chakra sensitive were supposed to do, anyways. She was accepted.
Age 11-13: With the little money she made from the missions that were available to students, she was able to finally find a place to live (perhaps survive would be more apt to say) in the Cronopolis. With what extra money she obtained, she finally managed to purchase a new violin -- with which she hadn't been able to practice with since her mother's death. In the time she had out free from training, it was her entertainment. As the years went by, she continued to practice.
In roughly 18 months, Kimiko completed the courses necessary to graduate the academy. She was one of the worst graduates in basic taijutsu with contemporary weaponry; save for medical ninjutsu, where she did show a degree of compentancy, she was inexceptional in ninjutsu usage; the use of genjutsu did come easily to her, and she scored high marks in that area. For no reason, save meeting the criteria, she graduated into the medical branch.
Age 14-19: Time in the medical branch wasn't all that active; while a trainee in the branch, majority of her time was spent between studying and mirroring her superiors with an occassional low-ranked mission, assisting with inhouse treatment of injured. With non-spectacular ability, her existance within the branch wasn't some major asset, nor did it hold anyone back. No one in particular became a mentor or inspiration for Kimiko, nor did she want any one to: her existance within the branch existed solely for her to survive: it was simply income to her.
As one of the faces in the background, Kimiko quietly made the progression from trainee to mednin some three years after joining the branch. Her work remained in the branch's hospital division, differing only now that she assisted more than observed the work being done. As expected, she knew how to do procedures, and for many, she already had some experience; few others, more specialized operations, were left for the more experienced.
