Character's Physical Description: Nao is rather small, she is about 5’4” in height and weighs about 110 lbs. She has pale hair that drapes over her shoulders to reach her middle back. Her hair is complimented by her topaz eyes giving her a warm and friendly outer appearance, while she instead keeps to herself in a very introvert fashion. Her clothes are typically darker, but she does wear lighter clothes in the summer. She’s thin and kinda scrawny, but her daily training regimen focuses more on mental as opposed to physical, “A mind can be as sharp as a kunai” she always says. She does have muscle though, her arms and legs are a good size for her age and amount of training she does. Nao doesn’t smile often, and when she does, it is very subtle, her smile has been complimented as having “cute charm”.

Character's Mental Description: Nao is smart for her age, she finds most of her schoolwork easy, but she isn’t any sort of genius. She’s very clumsy and gets dizzy often when walking, causing more falls. Nao has one defining trait, determination. She was born with a disease that made her incredibly frail from birth, but since she was 6 she has been training her endurance and stamina to make an attempt at one day being a ninja. She is very stubborn when it comes to getting through an ordeal without help, she feels she has something to prove. She works hard, almost to the point of self-injury. Nao isn’t obsessed quite yet, but her parents advise her against her struggle, perhaps some actual friends would help.


History: Nao was born in the winter months, to a average set of parents. Her mother was a secretary working at various businesses around Inner Maruishi, and her father was a banker working from the same place. She was born and raised in Maruishi, she knows the streets and shops well. She’s seen many a summer and winters here, but only from the inside of a window. Nao was born with a disability that rendered her legs too weak to walk on until she was 6. When she was 6, she started walking more and made her legs strong like any other child’s, she ran as if she was making up for 6 years of lost time. She loves to run and read the most, this hobby occupied most of her time when she was bedridden in her early life. Her parents home taught her (obviously) and she reveled in her school work, since she couldn’t move and be active, she pushed all that energy to her head, her stubbornness at work. She flew through worksheets and books alike, she especially found languages interesting, she loves reading about ancient languages and their mannerisms. She continued her studious streak until she absolutely could not stand sitting in that bed for one more day. She told her parents and they began to try and find a way for their precious girl to walk finally. They scoured the earth country and eventually found an acupuncturist that believed she could solve the problem, Nao's own cousin, Kaoki. She was an accomplished med-nin, known for taking "odd" cases. When she arrived, she spent 3 days infusing chakra into Nao’s legs, and finally, Nao was able to walk, not anything extraordinary, but she could finally move out of her bed. Ever since, she’s been running and doing leg exercises to build up her leg strength.

Her interest in the shinobi arts came from books (yet again) and her cousin only, Nao didn't look to Medical Ninjutsu, she wanted to the powerful heroes the books told about. She has read a lot of books on the subject, everything from Genjutsu to weapon types. She read about the past tsuchikage’s exploits and all about the ranks a ninja progresses through, needless to say, her interests were peaked. She made it her life’s goal to end up in one of the books she loved so much. The only way she could do that is through becoming a ninja. She started training and training at an attempt to become able to hold her own in a fight. She eventually signed up with the academy and prepares for the first day in her stride towards becoming a ninja of legend.

Physical Description:
Kaoki has pale hair like her cousin, Nao, only Kaoki’s is short and straight, while Nao’s is long and wavy. She has a full and fit physique gained from constant walking and carrying her belongings. She is well toned on her arms, but by far her legs are her strongest physical assets. She can run pretty fast, again constant conditioning is the cause. She sports an eye-patch, a scar from a previous engagement with some bandits, and her eye patch is partnered with her mechanical arm. A gift from a friend and engineer to replace her real one, cut from her by the aforementioned bandits. She is accustomed to this arm by now, she can use it as any other limb, even so far as to form hand seals. The arm is clunky though, she has to be more careful with it, considering it’s “Steam Powered Punch Power” a name she thought up. She always keeps a satchel of emergency medical equipment on her, always be prepared, right? She keeps in shape, oddly enough she got more active after she was almost mortally injured, so, she keeps a strict regimen of running climbing, a trip to her favorite cafe, ending at home, where she started. She is constantly practicing her abilities with water jutsu, swirling water in the air, sitting on a platform maintained only by her chakra, it's diligent to say the least. She designs her own medicine, sort of like a mad scientist of medicine, she randomly combines herbs she thinks might have an improved affect, keyword: might.


Mental Description:
Kaoki is more mentally sound than someone who’s been through what she has should be. She’s kind and friendly, traits she’s picked up as a med-nin. Though occasionally, her sunny disposition can give way to a angry and untameable Kaoki that few have seen and lived to tell about it. She tends to avoid violence for a more peaceful approach, but that doesn’t mean she is scared to fight or defend herself. She works well with others, and affectionately baby’s her younger cousin, Nao. If she could, she would constantly be around Nao, but sometimes duties come before fun. Her motto is “Help before harm, but sometimes harm is fun too.” Pretty much sums her up with a little bow on top. She is very focused when it comes to medical studies, but can get really distracted doing just about anything else. Her favorite things include, but are not limited to: Bubble baths, Sake, Medical studies, and climbing. Kaoki enjoys healing people and preventing sickness almost as much as life itself, this deep rooted love grew from her obsession with saving her mother when she was younger, but after she resolved to let her die with her dignity and not prolong the pain, her obsession went towards other people. She designs her own medicine, sort of like a mad scientist of medicine, she randomly combines herbs she thinks might have an improved affect, keyword: might. Needless to say, she has to clean a lot.

Kaoki was born in the earth country, but her father was a travelling merchant so, they left soon after her birth. She grew up on the road, riding from village to village, country to country, it was a life. Kaoki took a certain liking to medical studies, she found the whole thing wildly interesting, healing people with chakra and even without. This study became even more of a priority for her when her mother caught a rare disease that slowly tore and burned away her organs from within. She wanted with all of her power to save her mother. She began searching for a doctor willing to apprentice her, this pursuit put most people off, considering her interests were bordering on ravenous. She NEEDED to become a doctor, she would tear into the first hospital of every village she and her father visited, asking for the most experienced doctor or surgeon. She would train with these people until she had to leave the town and make for the next. Her father realized her hunger and desire to gain knowledge necessary to save her mother. He gave her a pack of supplies, some money and told her to go, find the right teacher who can tell her how to save her mother and his wife. Kaoki nodded, tears streaming down her face and left. She hasn’t seen him since.

She continued this trend for many years, gaining knowledge and techniques, hundreds, she became very skilled, but lacked experience in an actual medical situation. This provoked her thoughts as to where she could go to get hands on experience helping people like she would her mother soon enough. She then started asking around for any areas in need of medical relief. She settled on an area constantly under scrutiny of a certain bandit group. The constant marauding of these mercenaries left many men injured and dying. This was perfect. She made for this town, on the outskirts of the earth country, she set up a medicine shop and began healing people and selling all sorts of apothecary supplies. She enjoyed it, it gave her purpose, she still honed her skills and would occasionally visit her mother in Maruishi to lengthen her life and lessen her pain. She had settled down into a nice cozy life, until the mercenaries she was working so hard to render useless, decided to visit her shop. They smashed shelves, stole the money she had saved, and burned the building down. She tried to fight them off, but there were 3 of them and 1 of her, they ended up leaving her lying on the ground, bleeding to death and missing an arm. She would’ve died, had she not created such a bond with the people of the town. They nursed her back to health and the town blacksmith/engineer spent 2 months while she was recovering building her an arm that would connect with her chakra points and act as a real arm, being able to form hand seals and everything.

After she was able, she left for the capital, to study medical ninjutsu and stay near her mother. Along the way, she discovered many things about herself, she found she was a water adept, she incorporated it into her healing and began looking into it’s offensive capabilities for defense. She arrived in Maruishi starved and ready to learn! She began her studies and quickly flew through the academy and become a genin, she started working in a clinic and began studying genetics. She has decided to stay in Iwagakure for the time being, but she won’t heal her mother anymore, she has learned its best not to prolong suffering anymore than possible, and a cure would be decades in the making, longer than her mother has. She instead turned to helping future generations by trying to heal wounds the current one opened.[/spoilername]
