Physical Description: Ryu is a male who is pretty big for his age, standing at about 6 foot tall and 200 lbs. Ryu has slightly tan skin and medium length dark black hair, shaved on the sides with the top parted left and hanging down past his nose. His eyes are fully orange except for two small black pupils and they make him stand out as a rather intimidating Shinobi, even at his young age. Ryu tends to wear his leaf village headband and dress in a pair of black shorts and a tank top with a dark purple hoodie over it, normally unzipped unless its specifically cold. He also has a large scar that runs down the length of his back from a Guandao that struck him during a battle.
Mental Description: Ryu, despite his intimidating looks, tends to be rather kind and friendly towards others, with a loyal protectiveness towards those that he loves, normally being very easily trusting of strangers. He also tends to not be as serious as others would be about certain things, as he takes as many opportunities he can to crack a joke or remark, often times angering people who don't know him that well, be it a teacher, teammate, or enemy. Ryu can also be slightly unpredictable in combat, coming up with odd strategies or just rushing into fights before surveying them, he however uses these dangerous situations as opportunities to further train his hand to hand combat and jutus, which was something he was particularly good at from a young age.
History: Ryu was brought up in the leaf village and spent a lot of time watching the ANBU and Jonin of the village training, he knew growing up exactly what he wanted to do as he began to train his chakra and his body at about 6 years old, focusing a lot of his time and energy on being one step ahead of his competition in class and trying his hardest to be accepted as a Genin. Ryu graduated the academy at only 10 years old became a Genin at 11, he was known for being a talented fighter and despite his unorthodox and sometimes dumb decisions, a very intelligent kid. Ryu was on his way to the Chunin exams at only 12 when the night before the first test, the village was attacked by an unmarked group of ninja. Ryu was asleep during this invasion and was woken up in the dead of night to the screams of his mother, father, and two sisters as one of the cloaked ninja attacked them with a Guandao. By the time Ryu made it to his family the man had cut there throats and bodies, turning to him to attack next. Ryu held his own in combat against the ninja for a while, using a Kunai knife to deflect the large blade for a while until Ryu managed to get a slash off on the ninja. The ninja exploded into water and the real one entered the room, slamming him in the back with the blade. Ryu went unconscious from blood loss and awoke days later to find himself in the hospital, one of the ANBU found him, still breathing but bleeding out in his living room, beside the bodies of his family, Ryu spent the last few months, including his birthday, in physical therapy, trying to regain himself after the near fatal experience. Ryu just recently made a full recovery and is now searching for a squad to take missions with, and to sign up for this years Chunin exams with.
