Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Konoha's Main Branch (Updated 03/05/2023)

Main Branch:

What is the Main Branch?

The main branch is the backbone of every village, Konoha is no different. While the ANBU and Medical Branch are both extremely specialized divisions of shinobi, Main Branch caters to a wide variety of roles throughout the village hidden in the leaves. There’s a place for everyone in this branch, and most shinobi will find themselves as part of the main branch at least once in their life.

The sub-branches:

Hokage Guard- The Personal Guard for the Hokage. Should the Hokage need an entourage, at least one member of the Hokage Guard will escort them. They are considered the elite fighting force thanks to the broad and intense training that each member undergoes as part of their recruitment requirements.
Note: In order to become a fully-fledged member of the Hokage guard you must work your way up to the rank of Jounin.

Konoha Security- They protect the village from internal and external threats. A shinobi acting as part of the Konoha security forces deal with a wide variety of domestic threats, their investigations and confrontation can reach far beyond the village walls should the task require it. A member of Konoha security is not commonly a teacher, though should they wish to train those in their sub-branch or those looking to join they can do with great efficiency. Their duties involve watching the gates, monitoring the village for lawbreakers, and working with ANBU.

Journeyman- These are shinobi that wish to help Leaf from wherever they are. Some Journeymen teach at the academy while others are missions experts. Journeyman can find themselves facing a wide variety of tasks throughout their careers, often as mission leaders teaching Genin in the field or as part of more advanced operational units.

Main Branch Ranking System:

Academy Student: Everyone starts here. The lowest rank in the main branch. These shinobi are typically the youngest within the branch.

Genin- The main focus of a Genin is undertaking low-ranking missions in order to learn and grow as shinobi in preparation for their Chuunin exams. This rank is automatically applied to those that pass their Academy Exam.

Chuunin- Mid rank in the main branch. These are shinobi who have proven themselves via Chuunin exams and have advanced to a slightly more senior position in the branch. As such these ninja are no longer considered to be students assigned to a squad and instead can select a sub-branch that they wish to join.

Jounin- High rank in the main branch. A shinobi of this caliber shares the same responsibilities as their Chuunin subordinates, however, due to their expertise, these ninjas are often tasked with high-class assignments as well as leadership roles within their sub-branches. Jounin-level shinobi are expected to act independently while providing regular reports to the Head Jounin.

Head Jounin- Leader of all Jounin. The Head Jounin is second in command of the branch thanks to their role as the “right hand” of the Sennin. They will oversee the academy while organizing Jounin exams as well as specialized and dangerous missions.

Sennin- The Sennin is the leader of the Main Branch and one of the most senior positions in the village. The Sennin will organize the branch as a whole while reporting directly to the Hokage.

Ranks and Requirements
Academy Student said:
Academy students make up the student body of the Academy, where they are trained and prepared for life as a shinobi. They are not an actual part of the shinobi force, as they are still in the process of mastering the very basics of the ninja lifestyle. Within the academy they are expected to participate in various classes meant to prepare them for geninhood. Because the genin examination focuses on implementation of jutsu and skill, it is not unique for students lacking certain aptitudes to pass if they perform well in other areas.

Rank Required
  • None

Responsibilities
  • Attend Clasess/Tutor threads

Genin Exam Requirements
  • Participate in and complete 2 Class/Tutor threads taught by a Chuunin or higher-ranked shinobi from any branch.

Genin said:
Genin are the lowest level of ninja and also the ones that display the most difference in power. When students successfully pass the examinations they become genin which are ninja that start to do their part for Konoha's economy – being sent on missions that the village gets paid for. They are typically sent either on D-rank missions, which are almost entirely risk-free jobs of manual labour or C-rank missions, which are a cut above that and begin to verge on real "ninja" work that have a very low possibility of risk to the ninja involved. While some choose to become typical genin, others are either chosen or volunteer to take part in splintered training programs geared towards Medical-Nin or the ANBU Branch. Regardless of their path, these shinobi are still considered Genin and routinely will be sent on missions together.

Genin Rank Requirements
  • Pass the Genin exam.

Rank Responsibilities
  • Partake in D-rank and/or C-rank missions.
  • Continuing with Classes/Tutors for continued growth
  • Lend a hand when required by higher ranked Shinobi

Chunnin Exam Requirements
  • Successful completion of a D or C Rank mission.
  • Completion of a roleplay thread with a Head Jounin expressing an IC interest in joining one of the divisions.
  • Pass a Chuunin Exam.

Other Info

Upon graduating from the academy the newly fledged Genin can apply to join the ANBU or Medic Branch, this is done by reporting to the
Main Branch Sennin with their desire to transfer to another branch. This can also be done OOC.

Chuunin said:
Chuunin are ninja who are qualified to guide other ninja and lead missions. Chuunin have reached a level of maturity and ability that primarily consists of leadership skills and tactical prowess. Genin who do not have the skills to become Chuunin are weeded out in the Chuunin Exams. It is at this level that shinobi are placed within divisions of their choice, which tasks them specific responsibilities. Many shinobi remain at this level particularly due to fact that Konoha does not promote any higher on an examination basis but on a merit level. ANBU and Med-nin are equally represented within this group as well, as when they are not performing tasks of their specific branches can act as standard Chuunin.

Requirements For Rank
  • Pass the Chuunin exam.

Rank Responsibilities

These shinobi serve as either team leaders in charge of small teams or team members under the command of another chuunin or higher ranking official. These core members are expected to make decisions and utilise their skills as they are typically sent on C-rank or B-rank missions, with some even assigned A-Ranks. Some Chuunin find themselves tailored toward certain jobs within the village, be it as Academy Sensei's, Gate Guards, bodyguards or sentries patrolling the outskirts of the village.

Requirements to be considered for Jounin, the completion of multiple strengthens your chances

  • Participate in a modded battle(spar or otherwise)
  • Successful completion of TWO C - A ranked modded missions
  • Successful completion of FOUR C-A Rank self-modded mission
  • Host/teach FIVE Academy classes or Tutors(students must be genin rank or below)
  • Pass a Jounin Exam
  • Completion of a roleplay thread with the Head Jounin or Main Branch Sennin expressing IC interest to progress to Jounin
    • NOTE: The completion of several of these will increase your likelihood of being promoted but it is not required to do every single one.

Sub-Branch Opportunity!

Main Branch Chuunin upon promotion are given the option to join a given Sub-Branch within their respective branches. Taking the option tailors what kind of mission assignments you may receive and what kind of work may be required. This is not a requirement and you are not forced to choose one if you desire not to.

Jounin said:
Jounin are generally highly-experienced shinobi with great individual skill who serve as an elite military presence. They are often sent on A-rank missions, and experienced Jounin may even be sent on S-rank missions (which are considered to be the greatest difficulty). It is not unusual for Jounin to be assigned to go on missions alone. They may be assigned to lead various Genin teams on lower rank missions to help instruct and train these genin to become competent ninja. This is done to prepare Genin for their Chuunin examinations.

Rank Requirements
  • Participate in a modded battle(spar or otherwise)
  • Successful completion of TWO C - A ranked modded missions
