Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It was a beautiful sunny day. The sky was as blue as it could get and there no traces of clouds anywhere. The sun was currently on the peak of its daily journey, that time of the day that its warmth giver function was at its maximum. And that was quite fortunate for those that found themselves in the wild. There was strong and quite chilly wind roaming free on the land. This current of cold air was so intense and determined that it always managed to find a way inside people's clothing, no matter how many layers one had. Kazuki's clothing was quite simple. He wore a black and gray robe with silvery trimmings and an open colar, along with a large, red, flowing toga drapped around his body and across his chest, black plants and black combat boots. And that was about it. His attire offered little, if any at all, protection against the wind, but thankfully, he felt no cold at all. The Overlord of the Senju clan was more dead than alive by now. Recent events left him with an icy hole surrounding a beating flame where once a heart beat. That combining with his unnatural paleness, gave him an appearance of someone fast traveling toward the grave. Even his physical conditions was anything but borderline superhuman.

The Silvery Haired Man always kept his hairstyle since his youth days, hair that sticks upward at the top. Gazing into his eyes was like gazing at coal or a black hole. His irises were pitch black and gave the impression of being able to see right into other people's souls. Just like once the former Sennin laid his eyes on you, he could inspect your inner core with ease. Whenever he spoke, his voice irradiate a sense of calmness and purpose that was quite simple to identify. It would seem that little in this world could occur that would upset him and that was true. He was seldom surprised. Unexpected events did happen around him, but he was quick to adapt and react accordingly. Only a few things were truly able to upset him and those were strong enough to make even his rage boil uncontrollably.

But today nothing of that sort had happened so far. The Dread Lord was as calm as a waveless sea, it was up to the Shinobis of Kumogakure to make sure he remained that way. Stopping his march right in front of Cloud's gates, Reaper crossed his arms and waited.

[OOC: wanted to give someone else the opportunity to do gate stuff for you, but wont force you to wait too long.]

As was his way Akira landed outside the gate with a dull thud. He had jumped down from the wall above, it was the most secure way to greet someone at the gates, no chance of someone slipping in through an open door and all.

Standing up after the landing Akira's ANBU face mask peered at the man before him. The mask had a single eye hole, over his dead eye, mirroring the scar than ran through it was a red line running down past the hole.

Hello. I am sorry to inform you of this but I don't want to waste your time. Cloud's gates are closed to visitors by the Raikage's order. If there is someone you are here to meet with I can send for them, if there is a message you would like to give to someone I can deliver it.

"Halt who goes there?" could Kazuki have heard. Instead a stranger shinobi fell from the top of the closed gates and landed right in front of the Overlord. It was not hard to figure out that this newcomer was a shinobi. How could the Silvery Haired Man know that? No civilian would ever be able to land in such impeccable way, and certainly not without breaking both his legs, if not more. But this man, if man he was, was no ordinary shinobi. A Hidden Village was comprised of Main Branch Shinobi, Medical Ninja and ANBU and this fellow was of the later sort. Again, how could the former ANBU Sennin of Konohagakure know it? It was due to two reasons. As a former ANBU himself, Kazuki was more inclined to recognize another, this was no bullet proof method, but his rate of certainty was above 50%. On the other hand, Akira carried an ANBU mask and there was no better indicator than that one. Unlike normal ANBU masks in Leaf, this Cloud one only had a single eye hole and red paint mirrored what he thought to be scars.

"Hello. I am sorry to inform you of this but I don't want to waste your time. Cloud's gates are closed to visitors by the Raikage's order. If there is someone you are here to meet with I can send for them, if there is a message you would like to give to someone I can deliver it." the stranger noted. That was a severe blow to the Overlord's aspirations, but there was still hope that he could salvage the situation into his benefit. "Greeting Kumogakurian ANBU. I will not hide that knowing those gates are closed to visits greatly disturbs me. But indeed I have come to meet with someone. He is the Medical Sennin, Isaki Kushin. I would also like to send word to your Kage. Tell him that a high representative of Konohagakure wishes to speak with him. If neither is possible, I merely want to know if any shinobi of Leaf has entered Kumogakure and if I can talk with them. Either inside or right here. And I hereby thank you for your cooperation." the Dread Lord would calmly say.

Three requests. Perhaps all were possible, perhaps neither of them would happen. But he could be blamed for trying.

A wrenching feeling in Akira's gut at the name requested. Kushin. Usually not one to give away emotions Akira let slip for a moment, his head lowering ever so slightly before picking back up again as the man continued and mentioned Konohagakure. He wanted to meet the Raikage which would be easier. It was interesting having two ex-ANBU Sennin standing before each other with neither having any knowledge of the others titles.

Akira stood silently for a moment considering his reply and his options.

After a couple of seconds he had decided on his answer.

Isaki Kushin is indisposed at this time. I don't know where he is but I have a hunch as to who I could contact to get his attention, though I don't know how long it would take for him to return or even if it's possible. If you wish it I will contact those who can help and do my best to get his attention. Akira didn't have a personal connection with Kushin, but knew the man was dangerous, and questioned the impact having him return would have on the village.

Slightly out of order Akira chose to move directly to the Leaf shinobi aspect We can certainly do a check on our records, though it has been some time since the collapse and so it might take some time to figure out who has and has not been here. Also there is the potential for a Leaf passport not being used to gain entry and thus us not being able to identify them as a Leaf shinobi so our records might be flawed.

Which led him to Shin The Raikage, Hayata Shin, should be able to meet with you. If you could give me your title then I can contact him and see whether he is willing to make an exemption to the locked entrance so that you might be able to meet him at the tower rather than out here. I would suggest requesting this because if you are inside the village then perhaps we could organise going through the records, you might be able to identify clan names which match those from home and thus hopefully you would have a more complete picture of who from your home have been residing in Cloud.

He hoped that this covered everything the man requested.

Let me know what you would have me do.

After all everything he said was an offer, he didn't know how much the man wanted to see Kushin, he didn't know whether he wanted to stay in Cloud for any period of time and he didn't know how important knowing who from Leaf was in Cloud was.

Kazuki patiently and silently waited for the foreign ANBU to start answering. Luckily, the man was quick to come to a resolution. The Overlord did not possess the patience of a Saint, but he wasn't exactly an impatient man either. Unfortunately, what he was wearing was not exactly pleasant. And it wasn't exactly binding. Saito was answering the Silvery Haired Man's requests with ways he could help, but not saying he would. Was that a play on the other man's part to force the former Sennin to beg? Perhaps he was just being paranoid. The Dread Lord was there to ask for help, he could, very well, show himself humble. Even if that was far away from being one of his qualities. "Knowing that Kushin is not easily reached is not quite the news I was expecting, but if there is a way to contact him, I would like to do so. He came to my village before and I lend him some assistance. So here I am now, seeking to see him to check on his well being and to discuss something that we never finished." Reaper did not have to explain anything to the ANBU, but if some motives were made clear, maybe assistance would come faster. What he had disclosed was true, but it wasn't the entire picture. There was no way to know if Saito was trustworthy. In fact, the White Wolf only knew two Kumogakurian shinobi. Kushin and this ANBU. And both he barely knew something noteworthy.

"However, if meeting the Raikage is something more plausible, I hereby request such a meeting. Tell him that the Chief of the Intelligence Gathering and Foreign Affairs Department is at his doorstep. And if he allows me to enter your Village, I would prefer it. But if he decides that his rule cannot be broken just this instance, then I will wait outside until he comes out. Like I said, I with to meet him inside but that is not up to me decide, is it?" he would question. The answer was a sounding no. It was out of his hands. He could only wait until a decision had been made. "So in a sense, this would be order. Raikage meeting, record checking if I am allowed inside and then I would meet up with Isaki Kushin. Last but certainly not least." he would add moments later. In fact, of all three, Kushin was probably the most important part of his quest. That Sennin was his only promise of help from Cloud.

[Note that the Chief of the Intelligence Gathering and Foreign Affairs Department = ANBU Sennin, though the former is what Konoha knows, the latter is what the Hokage, Sennin and the ANBU branch knows.]

He nodded and moved away from the other for a moment, speaking through the headset in Ancient Kumogakure. It was an old habit used to keep things secret.

First he contacted Shin personally, asked him if it'd be okay to bring the stranger into Cloud to speak with him. Shin allowed it.

Then he called the ANBU office, asked them to come up with a list of names of known Leaf shinobi who had entered since the incident and any inbound who were noted as not having a village.

Finally he contacted Akuhei, and asked the man to contact Kushin if he could. Of course this was the longest conversation and almost had Akira facepalming for the others stubborness, but in the end Akira felt that probably the desire to see his formal pupil won out for the other. He would see what he could do.

Turning back the gates creaked and groaned as they opened.

Welcome to Kumogakure. I will guide you to a place you can stay and then will show you to the tower. Hayata Shin will be waiting for you.

"Thank you. Your help will not be unappreciated and I will repay you. I never forget my debts." Kazuki would note as he nodded. Entrance was finally given, even if initially things were a little bit sketchy. Luck, however, on the Overlord's side today. The ANBU had been most helpful and the Raikage had allowed him to breach Kumo's mighty walls, despite lockdown that presently was in effect. If only good fortune kept showering him, then this travel would be most fruitful indeed. "Lead the way ANBU, I will follow." he would note before following Saito. Along the way, the Silvery Haired Man would look around, trying to absorb as much of Cloud, as humanly possible. It was his first time inside that Hidden Village, might as well enjoy the scenery.
