Character's Physical Description: Forgotten since childhood, Kumori began looking for ways to enhance his own look. He wanted to be different, and he wanted to be noticed, though deep inside he was afraid of being found. Little by little he began changing his looks. First were the piercings, one in the lip, and two on the side of the left ear. Then came the tattoos, covering the sleeves of both arms and part of his chest. He began stitching himself with colorful thread on his neck and arms, sometimes even his cheeks and forehead. Finally, every portion of his body would match the demon eyes that haunted the mirrors. Blue at first glance, but multicolored upon closer inspection, his eyes are like a nebula, giving them a rather abstract appearance. It is said that those who stare at the eyes of the Otsuki often go crazy… but who would stare at his eyes now? Now that his entire body was a work of art.

Character's Mental Description: On the outside, Kumori appears to be your average teenager, without the ability to care for adult affairs. He often appears bored or non-interested, although it is hard to find a person as curious as he is, always taking interest in everyone else’s privacy. He takes his curiosity to another level, constantly seen tailing somebody and although it may seem as if he does not care for his own safety, this cannot be more wrong. In fact, Kumori is so afraid of his own death that he will stop at nothing to prolong his life… even if it means taking it from someone else. Kumori can be categorized as clinically insane, although this particular personality is often hidden, and revealed only to those who have known him for long enough, or those lucky enough to catch him partaking in his “detective hobby”.

Character History: The Tanaka and the Otsuki (Dekomori) have a long history of friendship. In times of old, Tanaka, having no shinobi in their ranks, often called to the aid of the Otsuki, seeing how the majority of them were mercenaries and nomads. Its been heard of plenty of times, a Tanaka marrying an Otsuki in order to preserve the friendship of the two clans… one such marriage gave birth to Otsuki Kumori.

Who is Otsuki Kumori? The question has been asked many times, but most of the time it has remained unanswered. It is known he graduated the academy, though nobody knows when. His name is absent from all the graduation ledgers, but it appears again in a scroll listing ANBU Trainees. Some of the members of the Otsuki Clan know who he is, the son of Otsuki Ginko, who died during a mission. Truth be told, he doesn’t have an interesting backstory, and the only thing interesting about him is his surname… but belonging to a clan whose history is clouded by the many differing accounts, who knows if anything anyone might tell you is true.

“Pretty little boy, he wouldn’t hurt a fly.” – The lady at the Dumpling Shop might say, but that’s as far as his descriptions go. Truth be told, nobody knows who Kumori is because he is barely there. He is the ghost who stalks you at night. He is the presence that you feel when you’re falling asleep in an empty room. He is the gust of wind that chills your soul as you pass by the flickering light at night. Indeed he is weird, but he wouldn’t hurt a fly. In his benevolence hides an unwavering will to know, a curiosity impossible to satisfy, and a deep, deep fear of death.

Nobody really recognizes the name of Kumori, but he doesn’t care, since it aids him in his rather unique hobby. Those who do recognize him, as well as those who have known him for long enough, know him to be not the quiet character that everyone thinks he is, but the weird kid with the unforgettable smile. “The last smile you’ll ever see.”.
