Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

shoulder. Her eyes are red, but not like an Uchiha's, as hers looks like a mix of a ruby color and an amber color. Despite living in Sand most of her life, she is a bit more pale than other people can be. She usually wears a white tank top with black shorts along with suspenders. Most of the time you would also see her sporting athletic arm sleeves along with fingerless gloves.

Character's Mental Description:
If there's one thing that Sumire loves it is fighting. She just loves to get into a match and see how far she can get into a fight. What she doesn't like is fighting someone who is weaker than her. Even more so, having to kill without reason. Now despite her love of fighting, she is a kind spirit. Not super talkative but she can give a soft smile that can warm just about everyone's heart. Sumire really does try her best to get to know people and hope to bring the best out in them. She usually has a bubbly kind of nature about her, but don't take her as naive. If she thinks that you are trying to play her for a fool, she will crush you relentlessly.

Multiple Personality Application: N/A
Character History: Kimiko Sumire was born from a family of no real importance. She has gained her father's family name which was a disgrace to her as he was a deadbeat with no job. Her mother was no better as she would make Sumire go out and smuggle things in and out of the Village, mainly the black market type of stuff that had given Sumire nightmares when she was younger. Once she got to the age of between eleven and twelve, her whole world got turned upside down. She was out as usual doing rounds of collecting... Black market items, when a pair of bandits had attacked her, trying to get her less than ideal merchandise. She eventually made the decision to drop it choosing her life over the illegal merchandise. Once she made it home with no cash to show for her parents to take away, they would beat her.

It would be after that day that things would steadily get worst. If she didn't meet her parents quota they threatened to not feed her or give her water. It was, until one day that things were especially bad that she finally found her voice and spoke up against what her parents were doing to her. And today... They were unforgiving. She was beat within an inch of her life. The girl would see the light, per se, but... She would also see something rather peculiar. Her own hands became transparent, see through. When the next hit came, it never did. To both her and her parents surprise, the fist would appear to pass right through her as if she wasn't even there. What's more, Sumire could feel her very own form seem to flicker in and out of existence. Material, but not. She would feel an anger inside of her. Something that stirred that she had always kept down until now. Screaming out in all of her anguish, her parents would suddenly start to go crazy, as if looking at something that was not there and crying out in fear. Unknown to her, her latent powers had made her parents experience genjutsu in a different way, one that seemed to effect their very spirit.

She would take this chance to let the authority take it over, and by that, she had found a ninja and told them the whole story. Sumire was promptly taken away from that toxic household and given to a foster family to be taken care of. it was there that she would be visited by that ninja that had saved her from that unforgiving lifestyle. He offered her to become a ninja, to make use of those powers that she posses, and even more so, put them to good use in helping other people so that there won't ever be someone in her position ever again. At first, she was hesitant. She knows very little about her own powers, and since it derived on her own fear of her parents, she wasn't too keen on using it. It won't be until one day that she was walking home from a non ninja school, that the truth would hit her. She would watch helplessly as someone would get mugged right in front of her, the person dying in the street before any medical ninja could arrive onto the scene. Sumire would live with this guilt, feeling ashamed that she couldn't do anything about what had happened. It was at this time that she figured that wallowing around won't help that poor person's soul rest easy nor make her a better person for not using this power that she has.

Sumire herself chose to enroll into the academy at age thirteen. It would be a bit awkward as she is the oldest in her class, but she was the one to pick up the easiest on what many found to be a hard topic to get a grasp on. Genjutsu. It was during the academy days that she finally learned what she was. Her instructors would say that she shows the characteristics of a Ghost Walker. Once they made her aware of her potential, they would teach her, and instruct her how to use such a power. It is mainly a power to be used to mess with the mind of people whom she sees as an enemy, which explains why she is so good at using Genjutsu. She would continue to train and learn with flying colors until it came to her exam day. She was paired with the other two students that were marked as the highest in the class, which coincidentally enough, one of them excelled at Ninjutsu, and the other at Taijutsu. The exam was all about stepping out of one's comfort zone. It was apparent that each student had hyper focused on what they specialized in and put not much thought into anything else.

Sumire would rack her brain with what she was thrown with. To prove to the instructors that they are indeed prodigies of the class and advance to Genin rank, they must pick a fighting style they are not good at and master it at the end of the day. She would first try her hand at Ninjutsu. But no matter how hard she tries, to her it feels like a major waste of chakra to her, especially since she already uses a lot with Genjutsu. She would then turn her attention to Taijutsu. Taijutsu would use a lot of weapons. Picking one up, she couldn't really get a good feel of it to properly use it effectively. That would imply for nearly all of the weapons that she would handle. All of the weapons just feel... Off to her. It was night time and nobody has made it to where they mastered a different fighting style. Only a couple hours left until the exam is over. Sumire felt hopeless. Felt as if she won't ever get strong enough to really use her powers to help others and... Wait a minute... Use her powers... Sumire had a thought, but what if she could... Extend her spirit out of her body and use that as a weapon? Taking a deep breath, she would put forth all of her focus to make her spirit extend itself outside of her body, specifically around her hands, forming a violet kind of fog or cloud around her fists. She was actually surprised by what she did. This... Spiritual weapon felt just right in her hands, if anything, felt light, not in the way at all for her. Getting into a fighting stance, she would punch a training dummy. Making contact with it, she would double up with another attack. She would look over at the other two students, giving them a nod of encouragement. Their time was running out, but they will not give up. If one started to feel hopeless the other two would help them get a better understanding of how to make it work. Finally, once the clock struck midnight, the instructors would find the three students drenched in sweat, but ready to prove themselves as they shown their hard work that they were able to do. Sumire wouldn't admit to it, but the other two students felt motivated seeing her put her all in and even going out of her way to help them get a grip or even master Genjutsu. As for her? She mastered taijutsu.

Graduating with the two other students as now Genin, Sumire felt as if she finally accomplished something that was her own doing at her own will. However, her victory was short lived. She had gotten word from her original parents. Her father had died but her mother had lived. It seemed since they lost Sumire, they had to do the dark dealings with the black market. A deal gone bad and her father was killed because of it. Visiting Omni Prime medical facility, she would see her mother there, barely hanging in there, but still alive. The girl would hide the discontent on her face as best as she could as she listened to her mother speak. "I've missed you so much... Your father... He would be proud of you." Sumire would shake her head. "Didn't feel to proud when you and him were beating me within an inch of my life." Her mother would try to get a word in but the girl would interrupt her before she could. "You both made my life a living nightmare!" She would then lower her voice, "I was merely surviving when I was with you. Now I get to live." She would turn away and not look back, ignoring her mother's plead to come back.

After that day she reminded herself to never become like her parents. Double faced like that... She would go on countless missions as a Genin to prepare herself to try and climb the ranks as far as she can, going from the mundane, to slightly life threatening. It was during this time that she met someone who will further her training.
It all started on a mission gone awry. Sumire may have bitten off more than she could take on this mission as she was facing off against a high leveled rogue ninja. In reality, her only mission was to escort a wealthy person to the Seaside Paradise. They were almost there with no problems until someone had shown up. This ninja would nearly kill Sumire until a man came by at extreme speeds and punched the rogue ninja with such ferocity that it killed the man where he stood. Sumire would have her consciousness fade in and out until everything went black. When she came to, she was in the Omni Prime Facility with the man that had saved her. He went by the name of Shironame Kazune.

"So..." She would start, "How did you do that?"

He would shake his head and then say, "Through years of hard work. I have conditioned my body past its limits."

She would think about it for a second. About how that one night, her genin exam went. She thought that she mastered taijutsu, but maybe she has only scratched the surface. Sure, she knows how to throw complex techniques, but to do what Kazune is saying, to condition one's own body past its own limits. By now she is fourteen years old, with her whole life still ahead of her. "Can you teach me?"

Kazune would laugh for a minute before pausing, realizing that she is being serious. "Look girl. No hard feelings, but to go through the type of training I have gone through you will have to put your body through intense exhaustion. And even after that, you would have to push yourself even further than that. Not many people who I teach would even make it past day one of training."

Sumire had to admit, what Kazune had said sounds pretty intimidating. But then she remembered how he saved her. If it wasn't for his fast and powerful movements, she would be dead right now. "Teach me, please. I want to learn to be just as strong as you and protect people as you have protected me."

The man would scoff before sighing. "You sure got a way with words you know that?"

The very next day would be her first day of training. "I want you to run twenty-six miles. Do one-hundred-fifty push ups, and one-hundred sit ups. If you are able to do all of that in one day, then the true training can begin."

Sumire would raise her eyebrows. That seems... Excessive. But maybe if she does this... She can be just like him. She thought through how to go about how to do these exercises. Any which way that she does it, she will be dead tired by the end of it. Twenty-six miles... Is he making her run a marathon? She would shake her head, going over the math, but stopped since it will most definitely cause her more pain than if she just starts running. One hour passed by. Two... Her limbs would feel as if they were about to fall off with how much running that she is doing. It would take her two more hours to complete the run. And even though she was glad that the run was over, she knows that she isn't done yet. Next up are the push ups... And with her arms already tired as it is... Even on a normal day, if she suddenly decided to do a whole lot of push ups, it would be about three to five minutes to do at best. But now... It could be thirty minutes for all she knew. It was actually thirty-one minutes that she finally got done with the push ups and went on to the final exercise. Sit ups. Another twenty excruciating minutes pass by until she was finally done.

She would find Kazune doing his own training, effortlessly boxing four people at once. "Oh, you quit?"

Sumire would shake her head and say, "Nah... I'm just getting started." It was obvious that she was out of breath and body hurting all over, but for the fact is that she isn't giving up.

Kazune would let out a sigh of reluctance and say, "Fine. You see that tree? I want you to punch and kick it. Do fifty punches, and then fifty kicks, then back to punches, then to kicks. You will keep doing this until the day ends."

She would groan but do as she was told. It was a grueling first day, but eventually it came to an end. She would have to keep doing this every day, watching what she eats and drinking only water throughout the day with a full eight hours of sleep. After a couple of weeks, her body was getting used to the never ending type of training in which she would be able to keep going without losing her breath and finishing each task at a faster rate. A couple of months roll by and Kazune, confident in her training, would issue a couple more challenges for her to complete now that she is reducing the time that she does her previous challenges. She would have to do all types of exercises that would work every part of her body.

Eventually, it would get to a point that her hard work would definitely show on her body, all the muscles and whatnot. However, Sumire didn't like this at all. Her solution? She would focus on her own spirit, thinking back to when she was in the first two weeks of her training, how lean and fit she was. She would shape her very soul to have a permanent change to her body. Now, even though she looks like a girl that would just hit the gym once a week, her own strength would be able to shatter rocks to rubble.

Her training would go on like this until she was nearly sixteen. Eventually she would ask him, "There's gotta be more than just this. You've been holding out on me."

Kazune would nod, "Yes... I've kept you long enough from the more dangerous techniques. But you must know, even with how far you've been able to push your body, applying chakra to push it even further can be strenuous to even someone like me, or worse. Death."

A chill ran down Sumire's spine, but she would nod, letting him know that she was ready. In the months to come, she would learn about the Chakra Gates, ways to push past the limiters on a human body to go to greater heights. Apparently, from Kazune, if someone of regular health were to try such a thing, they would die shortly after. Sumire opened her first Gate and power surged through her body, but even with her year and a half of training her body, she could definitely feel the strain that opening chakra gates can bring. He would teach her the benefits of each chakra gate and how to best utilize them in combat. There was, however a caveat. Only use the eighth gate, Gate of death, in a life or death scenario in order to protect the ones that she cares about. Going further, he would tell her of the Night Guy technique, another caveat only to be used in the life or death scenario, of if she uses that technique, her life might as well be over.

With that said, he would demonstrate the Sure kill strike, both variations, and the Morning Peacock techniques to her to make sure that she is able to use them effectively in combat. Again, she would be left to her own devices to train and grow more all the while she would go out on missions and teach the younger generations of ninja. The higher ups would take notice of her and would come to the conclusion that with how much she has trained along with how she carried herself, that she should be Chunin material. But to set it in stone, they would give her a mission. Protect a small town from a large band of bandits.

Going to the town, she would see that the place held little to no defenses. From the sound of it, from recon that some people in the town have done, there would be far more than anything that Sumire can handle by herself even with her superhuman abilities. But maybe, just maybe... "Listen everyone! I am very powerful, but I can't protect everyone. But I do have a plan. Any able bodied people able to fight, or even build, stay behind. Everyone else you must evacuate!" There were some murmurs going on when she had said that. Sumire could tell that they don't like this plan at all. "Isn't this your home!?" The murmurs would stop, all eyes on her. "Everything that you have built up for yourself. A business. A home. A family..." Her voice would trail off. She would take a deep breath and continue on, "All of it, will be gone if you don't protect what is yours. I can do a lot. But I will ultimately need your help in order to protect what you hold dear."

The towns people would look at each other, ashamed of how they were acting, thinking that one single person could throw away their life so easily for their own future. But then there would be a realization coming over the town. Each and every one of them had the look of determination on their face. This is their home and they will protect it at all costs. With Sumire's help, and her speed, they would be able to make a wall around the town with functioning guard towers with people armed with ranged type weapons. The bandits would come in full force, but Sumire, with the help of the town, would mow down the bandits easily.

She would come back from the mission victorious. From there, she would learn of why she was sent out on that mission. That no matter how powerful you may be, don't think you have to do things alone. Along with that seeing if she has leadership capabilities to carry her forth further into the ranks. Kazune would hear of this and would congratulate her in only one way he knows how. A duel to see how far she has developed her skills.

Even though Kazune was more skilled than she ever was, Sumire was keeping up with him, landing blow for blow. She would feel her consciousness start to fade as the battle would continue on. But even so, even after her consciousness slipped, her body kept fighting until backing him into a corner. He would stop the fight for both of their sakes and safety. Calling her foster parents they would take her in to get some rest.
She was nineteen when it happened, about three years after she became a Chunin. It would be the time when the whole world shook and trembled at the rise of dragons. And even though some were either good or non caring of the human race, there were a few exceptions. Three black dragons, young but still very dangerous. Their nature, to destroy all around them including each other, brought the dragons too close to a town that had called for help from Sand Village. Sumire and Kazune were dispatched to handle the situation. It was pretty grim to say the least as the dragons would not listen to reason and instantly attacked the duo.

Sumire kept onto hope to think of ways to beat these things, but even with her physical capabilities and spiritual powers, she feels that she isn't a match for this fight. She could feel herself slipping away. But... She would look over at Kazune. Eyes widen as she realized what he was doing. A thumb would touch his chest, right over his heart, unlocking the last gate. The Gate of death. She would feel a pressure in the air as he activated it, how it doubled the power of all of his other gates, but also tearing apart his body. But then she saw it. Red chakra. No... The red haze surrounding Kazune was in fact his very own blood boiling and evaporating from all the gates being opened. He was preparing for a strike to end one of the dragons. He would strike out, quite literally decimating one of the dragons. It was because of this that the other two would start focusing their attacks onto Kazune. Sumire would activate her own Gate of Death in this moment to amplify all of her other techniques but dare not use Night Guy. At least, not yet. However, it would be enough. they would defeat the remaining two dragons. But shortly afterwards, they would both fall unconscious.

However she would be the only one to wake up at Omni Prime Facility. She would ask about Kazune to multiple doctors or medical ninja, but they would all avoid her. Eventually one would tell her about his fate. Sumire would feel a weight dropped in her heart. Dead...? She remembered what he had taught her. The eighth gate of death and Night guy should only be used to go all out to save the person you care most about. He did his all to protect her. And yet she couldn't manifest the Night Guy technique to save him... A couple of days would past with her grieving until she was approached by a jounin.

They would explain the situation to her, of how because of Kazune's death, it left a hole in the jounin spot. Normally they would give a person an exam to see if they would make a good role for jounin. But since Sumire was a direct student of Kazune they were willing to give it to her. But despite this, Sumire would shake her head, telling them that she would need to think it over. More days would pass by as she tried to collect her thoughts. She had a survivors guilt, felt like if she could do better, then Kazune would be alive right now. Sumire idolized him. He was like a father figure to her. But now... she clenched her fists. Because of her, he had died.

She would try to clear her head by going for a walk, but in the end, she somehow ended up standing in front of her sensei's grave. Tears would well up in her eyes as she started to cry and yell out in frustration. Eventually, someone would come by. She recognized them as one of Kazune's friends. He wore a sad smile but comforted her telling her funny stories that had Kazune at the center of them. Eventually, there would be a minute of silence between the two before Kazune's friend spoke up, "You know. He talked about you often. Said you reminded him of his daughter. How time spent with you felt... It felt like he was spending with his daughter. She had passed away from a sickness long ago. But she had always worn a smile on her face and was always determined to do the best that she can. For ten years Kazune's mind was in a dark place. Meeting you saved him. Said that he would do anything to see you smile and live a long happy life."

The pain she felt in her chest tightened, making her hard to breath, but as she calmed down she thought about what Kazune's friend said. To live a long happy life... She had unknowingly saved him all those years ago when she wanted to be taught by him. Taking a deep breath she thought about what Kazune would want her to do. She would stand in silence at her sensei's grave before making up her mind that she will honor his memory. Going back to the jounin that had talked to her some days before, she would tell them that she is ready to be a jounin.

Three years go by since that incident and Sumire is doing her best to live her life the way that Kazune would want her to live. With a smile on her face and teaching the newer generation to always strive to be better. She is now twenty-two years old and is arguably a damned good Jounin. Wherever she goes she lifts people's spirits up. Sumire was able to many times take into account the different abilities of her squad mates in missions and utilize them so that they all have a chance to shine on the mission. Under her guidance twenty academy students would graduate to become a Genin. And if there were some that have failed in her exams, she would give them pointers on what they could do differently and the rebound exams that she gives one-hundred percent of the students that had originally failed will then pass with flying colors, sometimes even out performing the students that had passed on their first try.

Eventually, she would meet another girl, younger than her, but has had quite a rough life. Tanatsu Neko. They would talk for hours until Sumire had an idea. She would ask her if she wants to be part of a family. She would ask her foster parents to sign some paperwork and have Neko be part of the family, to be Sumire's younger sister.

Above all else, she now lives to be happy and will do anything she can to help others be happy as well.

Still actively roleplaying in any other threads?
Nope

You can still train (see: explanation of Limbo Training below) and do other OOC things, but you may NOT join any new threads. After you have completed these thread(s), post in OCR again and we will move you on to your next life.

What is Limbo Training?
This is the training that you would have gotten if you did not move on to your new character's life. Your caps are determined by your rebirthed stats. You must keep a record of your stats gained during limbo in your OCR thread. You may NOT request for an automatic rank up should you find that your new stats allow you to upgrade. Limbo training is only for people who have died in modded combat or suicide. Anyone whose character has not died is still capable of RPing that character until their OCR is finalized, and thus can train as normal.

Things you do NOT need to state, but take note of:
  • Abilities = All of your Abilities are auto-untrained upon rebirth. In order to have any Abilities for your new character, you must activate them by posting in your character’s Dojo topic in your new village.
  • Character History = By suiciding/rebirthing, you're making a new character. This means your new character must not know or remember anything of your old character's life/thoughts/feelings. If your new character has ANY direct/indirect connection to your old character, you MUST state that in your new character history write up for Admin & Village approvals. All Medical or ANBU related experience should be reflected in your history along with CA or BL influence.
  • Editing Your New Character Application = Do not edit a post you have made in your OCR. You must copy all of your information from your last post and add the changes to the new post. This is for papertrail reasons.

Things that do NOT transfer with your next character:
Please take notice of which https://ninpocho.com/viewto
