Name: Kusano Homura
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Sex: Male
Rank: Academy Student
General Description: Kusano Homura is a 13 Year old boy with a slight build, standing at a height of 5’1 and weighing a little less than 100 pounds. His messy ashen hair and burning orange eyes give Homura an unusual appearance, though few have seen his face, as the teen keeps most of his features concealed beneath his clothing. Homura usually wears a hooded light green cloak along with a red scarf that he keeps wrapped around his face below his eyes.
Homura has an almost disgustingly happy personality. He is bubbly and somewhat spastic, and seems to lack any regard for social norms and ideas like personal space. Homura, despite what his airheaded nature might suggest, is quite intelligent. However, because of his short attention span and lack of self-control, he rarely applies himself in academic matters, making his occasional bursts of brilliance all the more surprising to those around him.
History: Kusano Homura was little more than your typical street urchin before his ability to use chakra was identified during a routine sweep by the CPSS. The boy quickly found himself conscripted into Kumogakure’s shinobi program, where he was subject to the standard augmentations given to all students of the village’s shinobi academy.
Perhaps as a quirk of fate or a sign of latent shinobi ancestry, Homura responded unusually well to the treatments and medications he received, earning the attention of Kusano Mikoto, one of the Med-Nin responsible for the program. Given the boy’s seemingly unique ability to adapt and his lack of relatives to protest, Mikoto fast tracked Homura into a trial for an experimental mutagen regiment intended to improve on the more traditional methods.
Homura survived Mikoto’s experiments, but not without consequences. His memories of his life before the procedure were destroyed entirely, and he was left with a severe case of ADHD. Despite this, Mikoto considered the test a success, as almost all of his mental and physical attributes were improved significantly. He was faster, stronger, and smarter, though his condition made the latter less obvious.
Mikoto continued her experiments on Homura throughout his time in the Academy to equally mixed results, and eventually her scientific curiosity became something of a motherly affection for the boy, however twisted. She gifted Homura with her last name, and allowed him to visit her whenever he wished outside of his classes. Despite her habit of using him as a glorified lab rat, Homura came to see the woman as his mother, simply accepting her experiments as a way of helping him improve.
His time in the Academy was not without it’s problems, however. Homura struggled through the more academic courses due to his ADHD, and his frequent absences only worsened his grades. Despite his struggles, the boy excelled in more practical lessons, showing a startling aptitude for combat.
