Name: Kyo - 虚
Name Meaning: Kyo can mean "void" or "hollow," or "fruitless.".
Age: 10
Sex/Gender: Male
Rank: Academy Student
Physical:
An unimposing form
Pale white as the falling snow
Behold the fourth child
Kyo is a small half-breed kitsu-yokai born of a human father and kitsune mother. Outside of fox-like ears - that function no better than that of the average human's - and a bushy tail there is little to show for this lineage. He's built small and lean and keeps his longish white hair often up in a loose bun or ponytail. He has kind - if not sad - grey-green eyes. 130cm, 29 kilos.
Personality:
A calm quiet heart
Seeds of resentment growing
What will he become?
Kyo is softspoken and often polite to a fault. He carries a heaven burden of abandonment issues with him and doesn't like the spotlight... or fighting all that much. Still, he's aware of what his job entails and trains hard at it. He's kind and forgiving though there's a budding seed of anger and resentment towards his birth family. Despite having an adoptive mother and sister, he still declines to use their family name/surname as his own - be it a concept foreign to him or something he feels he has not yet earned remains to be seen.
History:
Devoid of a name
A child marches through the snow
Seeking family
Born the fourth child and only son to a powerful kitsu-yokai, the child was met with a cold disdain from the first breath he drew. His father did not live to see his birth and his mother only held him long enough to see he was a son and lacked any noticeable chakra. His three sisters raised him with a frigid utility in only the basics - how to read and write and prepare his own food. He lived mostly alone in a small hut with the sisters taking "shifts" to watch over him and making sure he had food and what might pass as clothing. He only ever saw his mother from a distance during this time.
One day he was brought before his mother. He was nervous, having been told by his half-siblings this was when mother would decide if he was to be taken into the family and given a name. Standing before her she looked him over before speaking her first and only words to him. "Where I should find progeny, I find only void. Leave."
His sisters led him near the gates of the Cloud village - a child of barely 5 summers - and promptly left him there. When scouts approached the rag-dressed child he wiped his eyes, smearing the dirt on his tear-stained face before bowing politely and speaking with a formality well beyond his years and appearance. In his shaking hands was a crude, handmade straw humanoid doll with a few tufts of brownish-red fur for a tail - perhaps the one momento of kindness afforded him by a sister.
"Please forgive my intrusion. My name is Kyo..." voice cracking, he did his best to hold back more tears and put on a brave face. Dropping to his hands and knees as his ears hit the ground he continued. "I seem to be in need of a family. Do you know of one with any openings...?"

5 years later, now a boy of 10 years and showing some promise in the ability to manipulate Chakra, Kyo prepares for his first few days of Ninja training...
