Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been awhile since the boy and the man had met one another. It had been quite a few weeks since Riyota had been torn in half by Kyuji and had the remainder of the class freaked out because they had a crazy sensei in front of them. But, they all had passed the class and three more of those lucky students had passed his Genin Examination where his mental insanity was getting worse and worse with each passing second. Rumors had spread that an old student of the descendant of Byakko's had graduated from the Academy as well and he was going to be joining up with the other three students to go on a "mission" of sorts to remove a corrupt politician from his throne in Sora. It was not going to be an easy task, but the new Genin would be in great hands with a soon-to-be Medical Sennin, the Main Branch Sennin, and the demon of Hell. But, all of this could wait today at least as there was a meeting of sorts scheduled by the descendant of a god.

Yes, he had sent a message to the household of Mr. Toshiwakai requesting the boy to show up at the Toraono Dojo and head down the corridor of the Byakko Household. He was suppose to seek guidance to the room that they would be meeting in if he needed help finding it, but the room was directly down the hall from the entry to the clan's holding. Once the boy was in the room, he would be engulfed in a pristine, bright room that had white whites and lightning fixtures hanging from above but yet not on. No, Kyuji was one to have anything deemed necessary in this room to be arranged when the sun was out to save on electricity for the entire family's dojo. Luckily, the sun was out but behind some clouds so there was just enough light in the room to make out the figure sitting in his throne-like seat waiting for the boy and the temperature was .

His eyes were glowing their traditional golden hue, but the senior medic was not wearing his typical clothing that everyone was accustomed to. No, he was wearing a dark cloak that engulfed his body like his robes but showed only his cat-like claws. His face was clearly visible as he sat there waiting for his friend and former student to show up. If Akkuma saw something special in his boy, then he needed to see it first-hand before he agreed to work beside another Genin. This whole "mission" was slowly becoming more high risk with each additional variable added to the equation, so he hoped Kagari could handle this.

It's not everday you get a direct invitation from a respected clan in Suna, let alone from someone Kagari knew. He recieved a letter, in his name that requested his presence in the Torano dojo, it was stamped with a clan seal of some kind; one he didn't recongnize at first. He had been there before, it was how he met Akkuma; his mysetrious "demon" mentor. Although it's been a while since he had seen him, and at first Kagari thought the invitation was from him. It was instead from Kyujin, which was surprise. It had been three weeks since the "class" in the academy, where Kagari and three other classmates were put through a harrowing. They had all succeded though, but the image of Riyota's mangled body still haunted Kagari's thoughts at times. He shook off those distracing thoughts in his head and put down the letter. He didn't hold any contempt for Kyujin, but it didn't make him any less cautious. Kagari was curious at why he was chosen, considering that there were three others who did deserve the same attention as he did. The only way he would get his answer is to go the dojo tomorrow.

----------------------------------------------------

Torano Dojo, or "The Throne of Bone". An aptly name considering most of the members you meet from the Torano clan. It's not a hard place to find, the clan banners and the dressed guards make it easy to find as it stands out. Although getting here was trouble, it's near the village gates so flocks of people make it hard to navigate to your destination. He took in the view of the huge building, it's white sandstone building seemed to stand out amdist the rock and desert that surrounded it. It was beautiful to look at; then agan anything's much more pleasent to look at than the buildings in Palais. As he went through the front door, an attendant welcomed him and politely bowed. "Welcome to Torano Dojo, what is it that you seek?" the attendant greeted. Kagari responded with a polite bow of his own, and took out the enevelope contating the letter that was addresed to him. "Hi, I'm looking for the Byakko household. I was sent a letter from one of it's members." Kagari handed the enevelope to the attendant so she could inspect it. She took a good look at the seal, inspecting it for a couple of seconds before handing it back to Kagari. "This way." She motioned for Kagari to follow her, as she led him down a seperate corridor away from the grand hall.

The corridor was different looking from the rest of the building, wooden floors and shoji doors made out of paper seperated rooms. It was also more open, as Kagari could feel the warmth of the desert sun with a light breeze that breathed through the hallways. The attendant stopped suddenly which snapped Kagari out of gushing over the building; she turned around and extended her arm out sideways, pointing to the doorway that was probably where Kyujin was. She bowed, and left Kagari there standing by himself. He looked around, surprisingly quiet consdering this place could house hundreds of people. He took a deep breath, than exchaled as he opened the sliding door and walked inside.

Closing the door behind him, he took a look at the room. It was ominously quiet as he took a few steps forward. Kagari called out. "Kyujin sensei?" No answer was given. "Anyone?" A bright light flashed Kagari eyes, blinding him momentarily before his eyes got used the bright room. As his vision returned back to normal, he saw Kyujin torwards the back of the room, a sliding door open on the side letting the light breeze roll in. He wasn't wearing the medical robes he had seen from his class, but a different outfit; a dark cloak covering his entire body, only his animalistic features showed. Kagari walked closer to where Kyujin was sitting, standing a few feet from him. "You...asked for me sensei?"

It would only take a little over half an hour until the boy would walk into the room and present himself to the descendant. In many ways, the boy looked the same as he did when they first met with his clothing and glasses looking strikingly similar. However, Kyuji could tell looking into the boy's eyes even from this distance that he was different and seemed more mature and confident in his abilities. There was no clear sign of being a Genin however as he choose to not bear the village emblem anywhere on his clothing or through the headbands given to the students after they graduated. This would be the first question that would be asked to the boy when the cat-like man choose to speak, but for now he was simply examining the boy's physical attributes with his piercing eyes focused on every little detail. If this kid truly was going to fight alongside of him, he needed to make sure that the boy was going to be fit mentally, physically, and emotionally. These tests would all come to fruition soon enough, but it was time to speak as to not creep the child out even more than he already did.

His eyes would continue to stare at him while his arms would move from the armrests of his throne to being crossed as he began to speak. It wasn't a gesture to appear rude or anything; he just preferred to keep his body language to a minimum and hope that everyone could figure out his true intentions with his actions and words. A clear, deep breathe could be heard from the older male in the room before he would speak. Once, he began to speak his voice would echo throughout the room with a friendly tone behind it but also there was a hint of seriousness. "You would be correct, Kagari. I did call you here and I see that you still have decided to give me the nickname of Kyujin instead of using my actual name still. I don't really mind, but I find it funny that you somehow mixed my birth name and my adopted name together without even knowing it haha. But, anyways, I have heard that you graduated from the academy and you know Miroku Akkuma? Would you confirm this is true? Also, have you discovered what path you want to go down in the village and what your fighting skills are going to focus on?"

He would then become quiet momentarily as his mind wandered for a moment before continue. "I know Miroku Akkuma as he is my cousin and Toraono Kuro is my brother. Mr. Miroku stated that he believes that you would be a valuable asset to us three. But we will get to that part then. For now, please just answer my questions and would you like anything to drink or eat while we converse?" This child had no idea what he would be getting into with Kyuji knowing full well that he was a Genin like his squad. It honestly was funny how everyone whom he had met since joining this village were all plotting together to eliminate a common threat to the village and using this war as a reason to install whom they believed would be the best candidate for Daimyo: Surutameni.

Silence filled the air after Kagari addressed Kyujin, Kagari just stood ther paitenly waiting for the man's response. If it was anything like the class, he maybe meditating or at least pondering something. Although his eyes were clearly open, blankly staring at Kagari. The man breathed deeply, and finally spoke; breaking the silence.

For now, please just answer my questions and would you like anything to drink or eat while we converse?"

'So Akkuma and Kyujin-sensei are Cousins? Well they seem to have the same personality honestly...and the way the go about "testing" their students...I think I may be adopting Jin's mannerisms when it comes to name, I have to watch out for that.' Kagari sctached the back of head before answering, he had called Kyujin his name before; but didn't realize that there was no "n" after Kyuji. But it seemed just natrual to call him "Kyujin" for some reason. Although finding out that his nickname for the man was a mix of of his birth name and clan name was surprising. "I sometimes mess up names Kyujin-sensei. I don't know it feels natrual for me to say "Kyujin" instead of 'Kyuji'."

"Yeah I graduated from the academy. It was weird because I had been part of a different exam before, but it was....disasterous." Kagari sighed, remembering the exam in the desert, and three faces that he hasn't seen since then. "I know Master Akkuma, I met him here in a different part of the dojo before. He...gave me this." Kagari lifted up the back of his right hand and showed a black cursed seal. He showed it for a couple of seconds before bringing his arm down. "I've been, "maintaning" it I guess. Although it's been a while since I've seen Akkuma. "

"I guess I'd like to become a jounin, take part in important missions, teach genin..." Kagari paused for a minute then sighed. "Actually that's kind of a bullshit answer I gave to the teachers in the academy...Honestly, I'd like to be part of an anbu squad. It's a far shoot, but I'm aiming for it. I like how they do missions, better and have been trying to copy them as best I could. I'm not a confrontational person, so I don't like to do direct approaches if I can avoid them." Kagari walked torward the open sliding door on the side, as he turned back torwards Kyujin. "I guess what I'm trying to say is I like effiency, and hitting the target from somewhere they don't expect."

"I've been focusing on my taijutsu and ninjutsu, using bladed weapons, and my agility. Although I found out I have an affinity for water..." After Kagari spoke, he sat down a few feet away from Kyjin; crossing his legs. He paused for a few moments of silence before speaking again, trying to relax after he had talked about himself. "Could I get some water actually?"

The descendant of Lord Byakko clapped his hands together as the boy finished responding to him and like clockwork, a representative of his clan appeared and placed a bottle of water beside the boy before bowing to them both and walking away to attend to other clan matters probably. The words that were expressed mere moments earlier were soaking into the demigod as a smile crept onto his face as he nodded in response. So, the boy wanted to join the stealth shinobi of the ANBU and he had actually formed a contract with Akkuma as the devil himself had stated days earlier when he "crashed" into the Dojo for a meeting. There was one thing for sure and that was that Akkuma seemed like he was a truther and he wasn't one to lie at this point. It also meant that Kyuji's gut assumptions were right as well and that this boy was going to need to be tested to make sure he could keep up with one of the best of the Toraono Clan. Lucky for him, am I right?

The demigod would lean back into his chair as he would look at Kagari situated in a way that made him come off as a dick. He then sighed heavily erasing the smirk on his face as he began to once again address the boy. "I am glad that you graduated from the Academy and Akkuma has been saying good things about you. You are actually going on a mission with him, Kuro and I along with my squad in the next few weeks. The details of the mission however are confidential at this point, but if we complete this mission, you will be promoted to Chunnin and I am sure we can get you into the ANBU branch as well. However, you need to prove to me that you are ready by sparring me here and now as soon as you are ready. But, I am going to not hold anything back so you do the same."

He then stood up having his cloak sway as he rose as he crossed his arms and stared at the boy. This was going to be an interesting fight to say the very least as Kagari had grown so quickly since they had last met and he looked like he was ready to truly be a shinobi. But, Kyuji could play the spoiler and ruin his whole future if he wanted to. However, he didn't need to do that and ruin a young boy's dreams nor actually go full out against a Genin. He had learned that he needed to be prepared however or this young man was going to actually outwit and outplay him. Again, this would be fun.

At Kagari's request, the man clapped his hands together to summon a nearby attendant to attend to the two men. A few seconds later, a robed servant opened the sliding door next to them and placed a filled watter bottle next to Kagari. He promptly bowed and disappeared as quickly as he appeared. Kagari grabbed the water bottle and eyed it for a bit, 'I wonder if the water is as fancy as the place looks...' Kagari took a small sip. It tasted like...water. 'It tastest normal...too normal for this place...' Kagari took a few more sips from water bottle to quench his thirst. He put down the watter bottle and wiped any remaining drops of water from his mouth.

He now refocused his attention back on Kyujin, who seemed to be pleased with Kagari's words. There was a slight smile that you could tell from the corners of his mouth, although it wasn't really easy to tell as he still had a stern look about him. Although it looked like the gears were running in the back of his head, as if he was gambling; thinking of all the possible outcomes. He leaned back into his chair, and sat in sort of a "lazy" like position. Despite the formal iniviation, being the lord of a household, and overall the nature of the current situation, he seemed very lax. He closed his eyes, taking a heavy sigh before he spoke to Kagari.

Kagari was taken aback for a moment. A literal "golden ticket" was being dangled in front of him, although the details of it were a bit vauge. He was going on a mission with Kyujin and his Master Akkuma. But Kyujin seems to still hold his cards close to his chest, not relinquishing any other details except the roster. Although if they do complete the mission sucessfully, he would be promoted to chunin. He had only been a genin for 2 months, and it looks like Kyujin was guaranteeing him that he would be promoted immediately. It almost sounded to good to be true. Not only that, but it seems he has the connections to get Kagari into becoming an ANBU operator...It almost sounded to good to be true.

<B>"Wow...Uh, I don't know what to say...." Before Kagari could say any more, Kyujin continued to speak. <I>"However, you need to prove to me that you are ready by sparring me here and now as soon as you are ready. But, I am going to not hold anything back so you do the same." 'There's the kicker...' Kagari knew that such an opurtunity would not be without some cost, but another test. He had survived one test from Kyujin, but he had 3 others to keep Kyujin's attention divided...Now it was just Kagari.

The man got up from his lazy position and stood above Kagari, staring with his arms crossed. He looked very intimidating, like a guardian in front of a treasure trove. Kagari got up and stretched; he then walked out the open sliding door to his left and Kyujin's right. It led to a small grassy graden, the field was properly trimmed and properly maintained. It was probably going to look a lot different once this test was over. After he was done stretching, Kagari got into a fighting pose as he waited for the test to begin. 'I have to be careful, if he isn't holding back; I might get seriously injured...' Kagari remembered the image or Riyota's bloody body lying on the dirt, a cautionary tale for those who don't warrant caution against a man like Kyujin. 'At least he'll heal me if things get bad...hopefully...I can't hold back though, I need to fight him like my life is on the line...' Kagari gulped, but was deteremined to meet Kyujin's challenge.

"I'm ready."

So, it appeared that the boy was actually ready to duke it out with his former teacher once again and try to prove his worth. The boy had decided to go through the door to the right of the demigod into the garden area of the Byakko Dojo and apparently was going to want to have their little spar there. It was an interesting area to select considering the training room that they were just in, that also acted like a meeting room it appeared, was much bigger in comparison to the little garden where the Byakko Clan was trying so hard to grow flowers and vegetables for the rest of the clan. In actuality, they were having a decent amount of vegetation considering that the Dojo rested entirely in the desert where there was little to no good soil to grow things. But like everything in the mind of Kyuji, it needed much work.

Fortunately for Kagari selecting the area, there was some shade to hide in to stay away from the scorching sun that would be ready to roast their little skin as soon as it could get its grasp on them. Also, there was some grassy area to have their fight away from all the plants and nature thankfully or Lady Yanshi would probably wring his neck if she saw their little garden destroyed. In actuality, Yanshi was busy talking with other members of the clan about their upcoming wedding plans and trying to help her decide on what she wanted to wear and what their little child, who was still not born, should wear as well. She didn't even know that Kagari was asked to come today nor noticed him when he entered earlier through the main corridor.

When both of the individuals were in the area selected for their spar, Kagari had decided to get into a normal fighting stance which prompted Kyuji to get into his unarmed style. Truthfully, he hadn't attempted to use this stance before in a fight and this was going to be the first of many times that he would probably be using this style in his future. His skin had also grown darker at this point as his eyes were glowing that strange golden hue that they did when he got excited, pissed or for any other variety of reasons. As for his actual body, Kagari could not see it due to the cloak, but he had used a one-handed seal to make his whole body increase its body temperature which in turn would give anyone a nice burning sensation if they decided to physically assault him. Aside from starting with a little trick in place, he stayed in his stance as he heard Kagari say that he was ready which made a smile quickly return to his face and he prompted Kagari to go first but saying: "You are my guest, you may start. Good luck."

As he waited for Kyujin to get into his own battle stance, he started to notice that the area that they were fighting in was a more carefully maintained than he thought. It looked like someone had put hours of work into making the small zen-garden a piece of work. It was about to be used as a impromptu training field. Sure, they could have used the large dojo that Kyujin and he were in but Kagari liked the open air a lot more than an enclosed space. If Kagari had to back pedal or create some space, there were at least areas Kagari could get to easily. Kyujin himself was getting warmed up, although he looked more excited about the spar than Kagari was. Even though most of his body was covered by a cloak; Kagari could tell that Kyujin had been looking forward to this moment. Kagari still had that lingering question in his head, that he had meant to ask earlier; why him? He wasn't lamenting that he was about to spar against an expierenced veteran, but he needed an answer to satisfy himself. Why go all the trouble for one kid amongst many others? Why offer this golden opurtunity to just one person? Maybe it was a lack of self-confidence or self-esteem that made Kagari wonder; but now was not the time for questions.

Kyujin himself got into a stance, although his arms couldn't be seen due to the cloas. The outlines of his shoulders did show, only just barely however. It was kinda like a bull and a matador, in this case Kagari was the bull and Kyujin was the torero. Kagari wouldn't be able to see any of his opponent's movements if he charged straight in with no plan. Kyujin was the type of person who would punish brashness, so direct action was not an option. Kagari knew that he could never overpower Kyujin with his taijutsu, he was way too expierenced and intelligent to let some kid hit you. Kagari wasn't going to win using strength, so he had to use his best attribute; creativity. He stayed in his stance as he heard Kagari say that he was ready which made a smile quickly return to his face and he prompted Kagari to go first but saying: "You are my guest, you may start. Good luck."

'I'm going to have to get rid of that cloak. I need to see his movments, or else i'm practically fighting blind.' Kagari started bouncing on the ball of his toes, looking more like a boxer rather than a fresh genin. He darted forward, practically getting low to the ground as he pulled his right fist back as if he was going to strike Kyujin. This was a misdirection, as his left hand reached for a kunai on his belt holster. Circulating Chakra in his left hand, he aimed to cut Kyujin's cloak with Water Whip [Rank 1] . As chakra coursed through his hand to his kunai, water formed around the blade almost like an extension; looking more like a shortsword rather than a small knife. Although the water looked formless, it could cut through most metal; making it a effective technique.

Actions/Notes:
1. Kagari rushed torwards Kyujin, aiming not to attack Kyujin himself but cut the front of his cloak in order to make Kyujin's movements with his body a lot more easier to read.

As the last words escaped his lips, this would prompt the young genin to begin his attack on the more experienced and older shinobi in the area. The demigod of the Toraono Clan would see the hidden trick that Kagari was attempting with his hands and easily sidestepped to the side of the attack before poking the kid in the head as his momentum sent him forward past Kyuji. Unfortunately for the boy, Kyuji was a seasoned veteran when it came to fighting since he had been fighting his entire life from his birth until now with other shinobi, his father and enemies of his new home. His right hand would have a swirl of chakra condensing into a brightly colored orb-like shape while his left hand was screeching like a thousand birds being physically abused.

The deadly combination that had put Riyota down for the count in the class that he had taught Kagari in was back again. Only this time, the boy was going to have to play with Kyuji alone and hopefully survive the attack as Kyuji rushed towards the boy with his hands extended ready to strike the boy tearing flesh and breaking bones like he had done to the poor demon-boy known as Riyota. If Kagari was sane, he would get out of the way quickly and allow his body switching object to be torn apart from the attack or he would be met with the same faith as his dear friend had been. Hell, Kyuji was just getting started with the boy today, they had all day to play around and have fun before the sun went down and Kagari would have to go home.

Hopefully, he would be smart enough to know that he was outclassed by his sensei and that he needed to play smart to be able to beat Kyuji or at the very least impress him enough to let him continue to go with them to complete their operation in Sora and be promoted to Chunnin when he returned. Currently, the former Stone shinobi was not entirely impressed with child thus far, but the day was young and he was sure there would be more surprises in store for him when he actually let Kagari get hot enough to really start to show his worth to the party.
Let’s see what the cursed genin is going to do in his current predicament!

Kagari's plan may have been well thought out, but someone could see through it by a person as experienced as Kyujin. Unfortunate for the genin, Kyujin read through his attack and sidestepped with ease against Kagari's attack. Kyujin even added a little poke to the back of Kagari's head as a way of communicating, "Come on; you have to do better than that..." Kagari skidded to cease his momentum; Kyujin didn't wait for him to get balanced again, as he launched his attack. What awaited for Kagari as he turned around was the ninjutsu he feared the most, Kyujin's Chidori and Chakra ball combo. Two fists full of bright blue chakra aimed at Kagari's gut, similarly to when Kyujin did the same thing to Riyota in class. This time, Kagari was in the front row seat, about to be blasted by the same techniques. 'He really isn't going easy on me!' Kagari screamed in his head. He remembered visibly the damage it left on his impromptu teammate; the same thing would happen to Kagari if he got hit. There was no way to defend against the combination; spotting a rock by one of the smaller trees, Kagari used the Body Switch (Rank 1) technique and was able to escape the two attacks.

He knew Kyujin wouldn't let him rest for a moment; he may even use the same attack again once he closed the distance. Kagari sighed, he knew that his opponent was clearly better than him. Fancy tricks wouldn't faze the man, and being aggressive would get Kagari injured. 'How do you stop a hungry wolf from killing its prey?' Kagari was struggling to find an answer to Kyujin's skill. The only way for Kagari to match against Kyujin's abilities was to dictate the pace, to stay one step ahead. 'Let's try...this.' Kagari took out the water bottle the servant gave him, uncapped it waved it like a paint brush through the air. While the water that came from the bottle lingered in the air, Kagari used a hand seal and all of a sudden rain came down despite the sunny day (Rain Dance: Rank 1). The small garden had a sudden downpour, with the grassy floor now soaked with water. It would make it easier for Kagari to use any of the water techniques he had now. 'This should hopefully make Kyujin careful on when he uses that flashy lightning Jutsu again....'

Kagari kicked one of the small puddles in Kyujin's direction while it looked childish; it formed flying needles that aimed at Kyujin's body.(Flying Water Needles: Rank 1).

Actions:
1. Kagari used Body Switch (Rank 1) to escape Kyujin's double Chidori-Rasengan attack, he switched with a small rock.
2. Kagari sprayed some of the water in the plastic water bottle he was given to use Rain Dance: Rank 1. It created a downpour in the garden, wetting the ground.
3. Kagari kicked a small puddle of water and aimed it at Kyujin, it formed Flying Water Needles: Rank 1 that were aimed at Kyuin.

The screeching, destructive combination from the descendant of Byakko was coming towards the younger, less-experienced shinobi like a quick line-drive down the third base line in a baseball game and it seemed like it was going to make its mark until a shower of rubble flew due to the impact. The move had definitely hit its mark, though it unfortunately had hit the wrong kind of target being a rock that was used for the classic Body Switch Jutsu. The blue hue from the jutsu would subside however as Kyuji would turn around to see the boy throwing water from the bottle that was containing it mere moments earlier turning the nice, warm day into a little rainstorm and making the field slipperier and wet. But, the boy didn't stop there. No, he decided to throw some Water Needles at Kyuji as well which would hit the arm of the man due to him using his arm to block them while gritting his teeth due to the pain associated with the move.

However, Kyuji would put his hands in front of him throwing them through some handsigns and creating a large body of water below the two combatants with his own little feet standing on top of the water. If Kagari had not fallen through, he would also be standing as well with a dragon and shark created out of the water rushing towards him trying to drown him and send him underneath the pool of water into suffocation. If those jutsu actually did not hit the dear little boy, the tidal wave coming after him following those creatures would most certainly hit its mark. If Kagari was able to see the man's expression on his face, he would see a devilish grin appear when the creatures began approaching the boy. This was most certainly getting interesting!

Would the boy manage to avoid all the attacks and actually figure out how to defeat Kyuji? Would he figure out to attack the left shoulder which was still recovering from the class or his chest where he had a giant frozen spear pierce it and let him with tremendous pain? The demigod aka descendant of Byakko knew that Kagari was not a dumb boy and was very tactical especially if he had found Akkuma and received a special little gift known as a curse seal from the man. If Kagari wanted to join this motley crew, he was going to be having a load of fun when he finally met the rest of the group. But, he had to actually prove himself to Kyuji before he actually could do anything. In actuality, he was really hoping that Kagari had some tricks up his sleeve still because at the current state of this fight, he was still not impressed with what he saw. But, there was still plenty of time to prove his worth!

The water needles hit it's the desired target, 7 of them piercing into Kyujin's arm. It looked like it hurt as the man's expression described the slight pain he was in. He was quick to respond however as he used hand signs to summon his water techniques. "Well...shit," Kagari observed as the scenery turned from wet grass to an ocean beneath the boy and his crazy-ass teacher. He channeled chakra into the soles of his shoes to stay above the surface of the new "lake". 'Damn...there goes my plan on using Water Prison if he ever got close. If he knows how to use water as an element, he could probably get out of it.' Kagari then noticed that two swirls of water beneath Kyujin started to take shape, one of them formed into a dragon and the other a shark. "You gotta to be kidding me..." Kagari sighed at the large level gap between him and Kyujin. He could see the man grinning like a child; he was enjoying himself.

Something caught his eye, Kyujin's left arm was hanging low; twitching slightly after blocking his water needles. His expression, despite his grin, showed pain, Kagari's previous attack hurt him. 'I should aim for that left arm of his, maybe it'll end this battle a little faster-' Kagari noticed behind the two water creatures; a massive tidal wave began to form. "Seriously?!" Kagari yelled as the tidal wave's speed picked up and engulfed Kagari inside. Inside the tidal wave, he started to get dizzier as it's force rocked his sense of balance and direction. He began to panic as he began to lose focus, slowly fading to black. An idea hit him, a stupid one at that. 'Freeze!' He extended both arms in opposite direction, the tidal wave slowly calming down began to lose its speed. The water began to get colder as ice started to form on the surface. Kagari used this opportunity to swim back up to the surface of the water, channeled chakra into his hands. He could feel his hands on the face of the water, and climbed until he was standing again. Kagari coughed as he regained his breath, the lake of water began to freeze over. The surrounding area began to get colder, and colder. Before you knew it, the weather changed from torrential downpour to snow, as snowflakes started to come down from the sky.(Artic Aether: Rank 1) "Well...there goes my trump card..." Kagari gingerly got up, his dizziness fading away.

Actions
1. Kagari was able to stay above the surface of the water, but then was hit by Scorn of Aquarius.
2. Kagari used Artic Aether: Rank 1 to freeze the surrounding area, the rain from Rain Dance has now changed to snowflakes.

"Wow, this kid knows water and ice ninjutsu. Yanshi would be quite impressed with his skills as a ninjutsu fighter and honestly I don't know if I can keep up with him on this department. Oh wait, yes I can, I am Byakko Kyuji after all haha," he would say to himself as he watched his beautiful creation freeze over into a little ice rink of sorts as his chakra was clearly visible at this point keeping him from slipping and falling face first onto the solidified liquid. This kid was definitely something else if he could manage to keep up with Kyuji jutsu for jutsu thus far in this fight and only at a Genin level. Imagine if he was the same skill level as Kyuji?! He would probably outmatch this demigod and schooled his sorry ass already, but unfortunately he was not.

However, the kid was about to be in a world of hurt if Kyuji could manage to pull this next technique off as he never even attempted the jutsu before in his lifetime aside from when he was reading how to do the different handseals for each element type. Slowly, he was going through the handseals as the snow continued to somehow fall in the area and within minutes he slammed his hands together creating a swirl from the atmosphere with his chakra that shot at the boy in a hellish stream trying to engulf the boy in the flames of Hell(Spontaneous Combustion Mastered). Unfortunately for Kyuji, the jutsu lost control in the atmosphere and also came towards him burning his body in minor burns as he winced in pain but kept the jutsu going. He also shot a sphere of air out of his mouth to aim towards Kagari, but the Air Bullet misfired and increased his burning even more while slowly melting the ice around him and probably Kagari.

Eventually, Kyuji would stop the jutsu probably due to being burned and in pain, but also because he was losing more and more control of it with each passing second. He actually would fall to a knee and display a green aura around his hand going around his body while clearly in pain as he was gritting his teeth together and trying his best not to cuss at Kagari or himself. Hell, he had his medical assistant out as well trying to heal his injuries while staring at Kagari. He was not outmatched by the Genin, but he definitely liked to play a riskier hand than almost everyone else in the village when it came to spars. Was he crazy? Yes, but he was having fun actually with this boy and so far the boy was still impressing him which many had failed to do for so long. Would Kagari continue his assault on the man or would he stop to let the man recover? The smart decision was to continue to fight and not wait for Kyuji at all or you would regret your decision but the little Genin was a nice kid or so he was when they were in the academy grounds ages ago.

Whoever tended to the garden was probably going to be in an uproar once they discover the condition of the surrounding area. The once "manicured to perfection" grass has been uprooted, rained on, and now frozen due to the impromptu spar between Kyujin and Kagari. Turning this place into a frozen wasteland was not Kagari's intention, but sometimes you're pushed to do so. The temperature was starting to drop from the high 90's to the low 50's, as both Kagari's and Kyujin's breath was becoming visible. Although, both of them were unbothered by the cold air, Kagari having now naturally accustomed to the cold and Kyujin; most likely due to his animalistic appearance protected him from extreme conditions. Either way, the spar was still going to continue.

Kyujin initiated the attack again, using a fire ninjutsu, targeted Kagari with a massive torrent of flames. Despite the cold area, large flames began to form. Kagari was ready to avoid the technique when the Jutsu started to act wildly, shooting out both in the direction of Kagari and exploding in Kyujin's area. The shot of fire that targeted Kagari was avoidable as Kyujin lost control of it at the last second. The fireball screamed past Kagari and hit a back wall, leaving a trail of cinder and smoke in its wake. It burned away some of the ice and snow in its path, but due to Kyujin's previous water Jutsu that flooded the area with water, the temperature did not change. 'That was...pretty easy to dodge. His previous attacks were way quicker and accurate than before." Kagari turned his attention to Kyujin, who was crouching down on one knee, with his arm smouldering from the explosion. He looked hurt; he was using medical ninjutsu to heal his blackened arm. He had also summoned his medical assistant to help with the healing.

At this moment, Kagari was at an impasse. Usually, if an injury occurred in an academy spar, it would come to a halt immediately to attend to the damage. This was different; there was no proctor to watch over the combatants. Also, Kyujin seemed like the type to say continue regardless if he lost a limb. Kagari wasn't sure if he should continue or not, his opponent was down. Kagari sighed, knowing it wouldn't be wise to let Kyujin heal up, as he would probably use some crazy ass jutsus against Kagari. The genin stood there observing as Kyujin was being healed up, "Kyujin-Sensei, whoever's been tending to the garden is going to be angry once they find out what they did to it. Do you think we should continue?"

Notes
1. Kagari avoided Spontaneus Combustion.
2. Kagari waited and asked Kyujin if they should end the spar there.

The demigod and medical assistant were definitely doing their job on the injuries sustained by the backfiring of the powerful combustion. However even with advanced medical knowledge, Kyuji knew quite sadly that his arm was not going to be able to sustain much more punishment from this little spar or he was going to permanently harm himself and potentially have to go for further surgeries. The hospital could not take in more patients than it already had and Kyuji knew this full well before he started sparring with Kagari today, but yet he was trying to win at all costs much like he tried to do during the examination for Azusa, Surutameni and Mao which by the way, they did pass barely. This competitive nature had only recently began to flow their the descendant of Byakko since his arrival in the Hidden Sand; it could possibly be due to his wife's personality or the clan he had married into or maybe it was meeting another god in the flesh being Byakko. In either case, this Kyuji that was kneeling before us today was not the same scared, mentally scarred individual who fled from his home country like a coward when monsters were destroying the village and cause death to everyone and everything.

The man was panting heavily from the moves and his body was going to probably give out soon if they didn't stop. He also heard Kagari asking him if they should stop considering the garden was starting to become completely destroyed from their fight. The kid was absolutely right that the garden was practically destroyed, but if the garden was in a state of destruction then it wasn't worth it to stop playing with each other right now. No, those words sparked a fire in Kyuji and helped the man get back to his feet banishing his medical assistant with a poof. He would smirk with that devilish grin that he routinely could get and laughed as he spoke: "Haha, no, let's continue fighting. I am alright and the garden can always be replanted considering I am the one among many that works in this garden to pray and hope we get a good harvest at the end of the seasons. So, let's continue, I will let you know when I am done...trust me, I cannot afford to collapse from exhaustion here with nobody around that is a medical shinobi. It was one thing if it was the exam where my wife was there, but this area is secluded from everything else in this Dojo and I would be in deep trouble if someone couldn't find me. But, let's continue since I still got some tricks up my sleeve, Kagari. Don't hold back!"

This fight was far from over, he still had the heart and mind to keep driving forward. The only downside was that shoulder and his chest were big targets if Kagari could pay close enough attention to them. A good shinobi would notice them, but a great shinobi would capitalize on the misfortune and use it to his advantage. What would Kagari decide to do? Would he play fair and avoid those areas or would he fight like a seasoned veteran and target the injured body parts? What will you do, Kagari? I look forward to seeing how you decide to fight me next!

Kyujin started to stretch his arm muscles that he and his medical assistant healed. He still cringed in slight pain as he extended his arm, it looks like his injuries were more severe than he anticipated. Was he still recovering from the class or something else? He turned his attention to Kagari, flashing a smirk as if he wasn't in pain.

"Haha, no, let's continue fighting. It was like fighting a kid honestly. The man lived for the thrill of battle, even if it cost him a limb or a two. Despite his bravado, he still looked like he was in pain, his arm still slightly burn, and an area in his chest looked badly burnt as well. He sighed that his sensei still wanted to fight, but nodded as he fell back into his fighting stance again. Kagari hadn't realized it yet, but he had been using a lot of chakra the past few minutes. He had been using technique after technique in quick succession without any break. If it wasn't for the hours he put into practicing techniques; he definitely would have collapsed from the chakra exhaustion. Still, Kagari was breathing heavily; he took a few moments to compose himself to get ready for the next exchange of techniques or blows. 'Maybe I should ease back on the ninjutsu; I'll faint from using them one after the other.' Kagari's breathing slowed, back into a more controlled and steady state as he relaxed. 'I don't know, the ranged strategy had been working pretty well for me.' It was in a way. Even though he had been swallowed up earlier by the water, he was able to keep Kyujin at bay from a distance instead of being a constant threat up close. 'But, I think I need to show I've got the balls fo fight up close. His arm and chest are hurt from that mistake he made with the fire Jutsu he used earlier. Although, considering who I'm fighting, he's got a dozen moves up his tail.' Kagari was unsure if he should fight back up close, despite Kyujin's weakness. But now was not a time to be unsure, he wanted Kagari to impress him. 'Still, I need to show him I'm serious.' Kagari, now resolved to fight Kyujin up close began to focus and dashed toward Kyujin. "Let's Go!" He yelled out as he ran on the now icy surface. Once he got into close range, he stopped, letting his feet slide on the ice. He used this momentum to carry him forward as he quickly attacked the man with three roundhouses, one to the head, one to the chest, and one to the leg.(Spinning Wind: Rank 2)

It seemed that Kagari understood what was at stake as he decided to charge headfirst towards his sensei using the ice below his feet as momentum. When he believed he was in range, he decided to attempt to roundhouse the taijitsu-specialized shinobi with three quick blows. Unfortunately for him, Kyuji saw right through the moves and blocked each one of them, but not without some pain associated with stopping them considering he was blocking someone's blows when he had a lot of force behind them. But with the boy so close, Kyuji dashed forward and attempted a barrage of punches at him (Roaring Combination Mastered) followed by a strong kick to the abdomen (Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku Mastered). After those initial taijutsu attacks, the demigod of the Byakko Clan would stand staring down Kagari and seeing if his moves had actually hit and laid him out for the count or if Kagari was still stirring. If every single blow had hit, the dear Genin who he taught would be at least on his butt since he was not playing around. And if he managed to dodge some of the blows, well, Kyuji was going to be impressed. Regardless of the end result, the man of Byakko was already impressed that Kagari had managed to keep up with him thus far.

In actuality, he was surprised that Mr. Toshiwakai had grow so fast since the academy class and had learned all these jutsu and strategies that he was implementing. This child would definitely probably want to train under Kyuji or his wife, Lady Yanshi, after this initial spar considering he was familar with Kyuji and Lady Yanshi was an ice-jutsu master unlike her husband who was more focused on Genjutsu and Taijutsu, even though he knew some Ninjutsu. Either case, they were quite knowledge about the shinobi arts and training under one of them would prove to be a useful asset if he ever wanted to consider it.

The three roundhouse kicks landed alright, on Kyuji's well-timed blocks. It gave Kyujin time to counter him easily, as the dashed in and threw a barrage of unblockable punches. Kagari wouldn't be able to dodge any of these blows these time, as each hit landed he felt himself fade into unconsciousness. Once he felt the hits stop, he tried his best to recover but a swift kick to the gut knocked all the air out of him, and he collapsed like a folding chair, clutching his side. Kagari grunted as he hit the ice, feeling hurt all over. He turned over and faced Kyujin on his back, spitting a bit of blood from his mouth. "Sorry sensei, but my body won't move." Kagari did his best to prop himself up, but ultimately his arms and his legs gave up on him. He just sat there, disappointed that he was finished in a couple of blows. "Maybe I should have kept using ninjutsu; it was honestly working for me better. Each time I went inside you had a counter for me." Kagari laid back down on the frozen water, sighing as he used this time to rest. Hopefully Kyujin's test was over because Kagari didn't know if he could continue in his state.

OC: Sorry for the short post. I don't know what to add from it.

It seemed this fight was over as every single blow landed with the kick knocking the boy down for the count. Finally, Kagari was taken down, but he had definitely proven himself today as he showed some spirit and didn't back down from someone far superior than him in power and skills. This kid was going to go places if he kept working and didn't give up on himself. But for now, he was done and this test was over as Kyuji walked over to him with his right hand displaying the Mystical Hand technique as he bent down and went over the boy's whole body noticing the blood that he spilled escaping the boy's mouth. "So I actually hurt him...he is not lying because his body is showing signs of fatigue and his body has been overused. Still, he did well for being a Genin. I approve." he thought as he evaluated the boy from head to toe to make sure he was recovering properly and every sign seemed to be pointing at the boy was fine. Kyuji would rise from his knelled position after healing the boy and respond to the boy's statement with a smile: "You did well, Kagari. Your only downfall was trying to fight me in hand-to-hand combat. You have superior knowledge than me in ninjutsu and you should've focused on that, but you pass my test. Keep your head up, Kid. You have nothing to be ashamed of." He would then rub his hand through the boy's hair to show that nothing was bad between them.

He would then extend a hand to the boy if the boy wanted aid to get up as he continued: "I have seen what I need to see. You may leave now, Kagari. However if you ever want to spar again, I am here. Also, I would go meet my wife at some point as she is a Haku-Inuzuka and she could probably help you with your Ice ninjutsu. And you are now dismissed!" He would stand and wait for the boy to leave, but he would also stick around if Kagari wanted or needed anything.

Still laying down on the ground, Kagari did his best to stand but to no avail. His arms would give out on him immediately as he felt the fatigue and wear from the short, but brutal spar. As he looked from the ground, he could see the garden was a right mess; it would probably take months or even years to get it back into the perfection it once was. The snowflakes started to die down, and the sunny weather returning to its normal state. Kagari sighed, he felt bad turning the place into a battleground; someone probably put a lot of effort into curating the area. He looked over to Kyujin, to see his reaction that he was down for the count; he again had his blank calculating look. He finally nodded in triumph, and kneeled down to Kagari's level and started to heal him. Kagari could quickly feel the pain and the exhaustion being pulled from his body; this was the work of an experienced medical ninja. After a minute or two of healing, Kyujin stood up, smiling impressed with Kagari's fight. "You did well, Kagari. Your only downfall was trying to fight me in hand-to-hand combat. You have superior knowledge than me in ninjutsu, and you should've focused on that, but you pass my test. Keep your head up, Kid. You have nothing to be ashamed of." 'I knew it. Damn!' Kagari cursed in his mind, he had one or two more tricks up his sleeve in the ninjutsu category, but he went with his gut and tried to fight hand to hand. Kyujin finished his speech with a little head rub, something that a teacher would give to his student after a day of hard work.

Kagari, now seated on the ground scratched the back of his head. It was weird being petted by someone else other than maybe your parents, but he didn't mind. Kyujin extended a hand to help Kagari get up, and he accepted it. Kagari was back to standing on his two legs, still feeling a bit weak. His legs felt unstable, but he would make do once he collapsed in his bedroom. "Well you couldn't blame me for trying Kyujin-sensei, I thought I had you." Kagari dusted off any of the snow and ice that gathered on his back and legs. Kyujin, looking satisfied spoke"I have seen what I need to see. You may leave now, Kagari. However if you ever want to spar again, I am here. Also, I would go meet my wife at some point as she is a Haku-Inuzuka and she could probably help you with your Ice ninjutsu. And you are now dismissed!"

Kagari nodded, this was very useful. He wasn't sure if there was someone else in the village who was willing to teach Kagari how to properly use Ice Ninjutsu. The only people he could think of were the Haku clan, and they were a bit reclusive to any from Suna; especially random genin. "Ok. I'll take it to consideration sensei. How exactly do I meet your wife?" Kagari asked as he uncorked the water bottle he was given before the spar and drank of all of it's contents in one gulp. He would wait for Kyujin's response, nod and say his farewells.

"I'll see you later sensei...and sorry about the mess." Kagari waved goodbye and headed for the exit of the Torano dojo, going through the hallways he passed through to get there. He was back at the front gate when a voice popped up behind him. "So, did you find what you seek?" The guide from earlier that showed him the way was behind him, at the same place she stood to greet him. Kagari turned his head, "Yeah. I have a lot of work to do."

"Good luck." With that, Kagari bowed his head slightly and headed back home, slightly sore and tire.
