Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Well, here he was again, sitting behind the teacher’s desk, taping his fingers over the not really great quality wood it was made of. He was quite surprised after the fiasco his first lessons turned out to be that they accepted his help, though he guessed he probably was too hard on himself...he usually was if something didn’t go along his plans. Still, it seemed that the issue with a foreign Shinobi becoming a surprise guest in his class wasn’t that huge. Still, he came better prepared for now in terms of knowing what was happening, having a list of all students in the academy. It was a long read, but he at least was sure no one of it would be attending class without trouble.

Still, he didn’t have a class quite planned out from start to finish. He really didn’t think he could think up a good formula or types of classes without some experience. He wasn’t really savvy enough in taijutsu to oversee sparring or anything like that. He had a vast knowledge of justs and history at his disposal, he just hoped he would find students more...willing to cooperate this time around. Class would be starting soon enough for him to find out.

(Just a set of simple rules so everything is clear from the start. Posting order can be fairly free as long as everyone posts after me. Ill wait 3 days for everyone involved in the class to post, after which Ill skip anyone who didn’t do so. Two strikes means failing the class. Don’t mean to sound harsh or anything, just really want to make sure this goes smoother then my last attempt. Hopefully we all can have some fun here regardless! o.ob)

“Somewhere...” he sang softly to himself as he slipped on some casual clothes, “...beyond the sea! Somewhere waiting for me!” From that point he forgot the remaining lyrics to the song, so he decided to hum the rest. Maji was just finishing his morning routine and getting ready for the day. Normally, he didn't start his day as chipper as he was now, but today was especially exciting. Today was a day that would prove monumental to him and would be a day he'll remember for years to come; it was his first day at the academy!

Almost forgetting his most cherished article of clothing, Maji ran towards his dresser, grabbed his black headband, and tied it onto his own forehead. His white, spiked hair slipped upward in a style that somehow defied gravity. It was strange how that happened, but he didn't question it.

“Ippin!” he called out enthusiastically. “Let's start heading out!” Out of his half-opened window fluttered in a cute, multi-colored little lizard with ravishing blue butterfly wings. It was his new faithful pet and partner in crime, Ippin! She was a hybrid creature that Sousuke had accidentally cooked up, and he was kind enough to gift her to Maji as a welcoming gift. Ippin was faithful and sweet; the boy felt nothing but positivity from her presence. He loved her a lot! She hopped onto his shoulder, they rubbed their faces together, and then he proceeded to exit his room.

At a pace that appeared hurried due to his high-anticipation, Maji darted down the hallways of the Takahashi house and came to a complete halt when he reached the kitchen. His pink eyes averted to the kitchen table, and on it was a crusty muffin and a note right besides it. Maji grabbed the note and read it aloud. “Go kick some ass Kid. I expect details when I get back. Okibi.” He chuckled to himself and grinned with satisfaction. As much as he wished she was here to see him off on his first day, he knew she was busy with missions and stuff. What mission did she have today, anyway? He could've swore it had something to do with the library... he shook his head. He didn't have time to stand around in thought; he had class to go to! Maji took a bite of his muffin and took the rest with him. Muffin on the go, yum!

The tan-skinned student, after a quick and relaxing journey, made it to the Academy. There he checked in with the receptionist and she gave him a slip containing his classroom number. Maji thanked her and gave her a head bow; he then went on a search for the classroom.

The academy, located within the Shinobi Foundation Complex, was huge! There were many classrooms and many classes going on. Students of all ages, well, mostly young, attended the academy to become shinobi. It was his goal ever since he had been introduced to the concept to become a ninja and become of use to Okibi and the Takahashi household to repay them for their kindness. He also wanted to become tougher, too.

As Maji neared his classroom, his brow began to sweat a little and his stomach started churning with butterflies. He was nervous. Ippin must have sensed this, so she made a cute random noise and rubbed her head against his neck. The white-haired boy smiled faintly and rubbed her back in response. “Thanks, Ippin. I'm just a little nervous. I mean, I hope they like me. I don't want to be an embarrassment.” By 'they' he meant his instructors and his fellow peers. Would he be the worst student in the class? He was confident in his writing and reading abilities, but he had no prior training in martial arts, weapon-handling, or jutsu training; he wasn't even sure how to control the little chakra he had yet. Maji sighed. There was no need in worrying; he'd succeed no matter what!

Hopefully...

After a minute or so, he had found his designated classroom. With a deep breath and a quick pat to his cheeks, he stepped forward into the classroom. There he saw a lone man, probably around his 20's, sitting at a large desk in front of the room. He had somewhat strange physical attributes, or at least Maji thought so. The man was pretty dark-skinned for someone from the underground city of Suna, and his hair was a similar, yet slightly lighter, shade. He looked pretty earthy. Though, for some reason, his skin color brought the boy immediate comfort. Something about it seemed familiar to him; it was a good feeling. Was this his instructor? Basic reasoning suggested that he was.

Maji walked towards the man and stayed silent until he came to a complete halt before him. He grinned halfway, obviously anxious, and raised his hand up in a welcoming gesture. “Hey...” he uttered sheepishly. He paused a bit too long; he felt kind of awkward. “I mean,” he bowed, “nice to meet you, Sensei. I'm Maji, and this is Ippin!” Ippin murmured a friendly sound in greeting and fluttered her wings joyfully. Well, she looked confident. The pink-eyed boy did not feel the same way at all.

Maji was about to mention to the instructor that it was his first day, but he decided against it. What if this guy looked down on newbies? Did he really want to come right off the bat as someone who was most likely incapable? No, it wasn't wise. He decided against it.

After bowing, Maji took a seat in the first row a few feet away from the teacher. He slowly and carefully, with slightly shaken hands, brought out his notebook and his inked pen. He glanced upward at the professor and tried to force a confident smile, but it looked pretty meek and pathetic. Oh boy, what happened to not being a sissy anymore? Okibi would be ashamed!

Maji kept an eye on the door with his peripheral vision. Would any other students show? Hopefully they would; the thought of having all the attention to himself made him blush. It'd be awful!

Sooner than later, a few students started to pour into the class, most of them heading towards one of the desks slightly further back, muttering a quick hello towards his direction. None of them that he recognized from his previous class, though he could understand that for now. Perhaps if he had some more advanced classes prepared he'd make sure to invite them as well. And it was pretty usual for the kids to just try and scoot away from the teacher as soon as possible. He just hoped he'd managed to melt the ice a bit as time went on...

Though in something which was a nice change of pace, he heard one of the boys talk to him. Turning around his head he looked at the boy as he paused for a longer while. He had to say the boy had a somewhat unusual appearance. It was mostly the tan... he was a grownup Shinobi who went on missions and to the Soon Heaven quite often, and as a Sunaku he was used to moving across the Maelstrom somewhat safely. Bu someone so young...perhaps it was a child of some wanderers? Otherwise, the white hair and light purple eyes were unusual as well... he could imagine once the boy grown up he'd have to be quite adapt at stealth to get away from all the fan girls… Finally the boy managed to finish his greeting, and introduced another oddity, the...reptilian thing on his shoulder. Now that was a curious pet... Smiling brightly at the boy he would say "Hello there Maji, Ippin...now, I don’t think pets are usually allowed in class, unless you an Inazuka... but if you two promise to behave Ill won’t tell anyone, alright?" he said with a wink, hoping his light jest would be seen in a good light. He could see the boy was slightly intimidated, and he really wanted to avoid that as much as possible.

After waiting for a while, a few more kids showing up as well, he would finally say "Alright then, welcome everyone to my class. My name is Sunaku Harupia, and hopeful I will show you things which will help you all develop into proud Shinobi of the Sand. Now, just for reference, I’d like everyone’s name's please, skipping the brave boy in the front" he said, crossing of Maji of the list since he already announced himself. Also, he could appreciate him not trying to hide in the back of the class.
OOC: Just a few notes. Any other student is still welcomed to join in the next post cycle, if their ok with taking some ribbing for being late xP Also, I’ll be introducing some NPC students to make the class look a bit more natural.

Maji's ears perked a little as he saw students one-by-one enter the classroom. They all appeared around his age, but most of them looked pretty odd. Some of them wore bandages around their face, some had gas masks, and some were decked out in fishnet stockings. Is this how most aspiring shinobi, or shinobi in general, normally dressed like? It looked kind of funky and pretty uncomfortable, but Maji didn't judge. He was just happy that students were pouring in – he didn't want to be the sole person other than Ippin and the instructor within the classroom.

The instructor seemed kind and had a warm smile. The fact he allowed Ippin remain in the classroom was awesome; he felt lucky to have gotten such a cool teacher for his first day. As soon as some of the last burst of students started to settle in, the dark-skin instructor introduced himself and addressed the class.

“Haru-sensei...” he thought as the man began to check attendance. Maji grinned as Harupia acknowledged him; felt pretty privileged to have been exempt from roll-call due to his supposed bravery, but he instantaneously regretted it. All the other children in the room, upon the teacher's praise, shot envious glares at him as they bitterly called out their names. The white-haired boy shrunk into his seat and looked more vulnerable than he usually was. Ippin purred slightly and rubbed his neck to comfort him. Hopefully he wasn't making enemies already. Were people here that competitive? It made him nervous and uncomfortable.

“It's okay, Maji,” he thought as he reasoned with himself, “they just need to get to know you a little. You'll be respected for your courage in no time.” Although he tried to convince himself of this, deep down he felt a tad insecure.

...Oh well!

Haru watched the students slowly move in, not being able to stop his brow from rising slightly. Maybe because for the most part, his last class looked relatively normal at first glance, a lot of the ones in these class... were, he wasn’t sure just what they were doing. Try to look Shinobi like? All though, or maybe cool looking? He guessed that was the point...unless for some they needed the gas mask to breath. Well, he couldn’t really be the surprised...young students often times had a really idealistic vision of how the Shinobi life looked... eventually they would learn...but for now he hoped his lessons would be a welcomed thing. Haru slowly counted down the students on his list...Some of them looked a bit more typical at least.
Akimichi+Chouji+%25282%2529.jpg
There was a young boy with light brown hair wearing something akin to a sweater, who looked to be slightly on the chubby side, but seemed to be rather chipper waving to the teacher on his way to the seat.
_1Ino.jpg
There was also a blonde girl with dark eyes and a blue shirt, who bowed respectfully but moved quickly away to sit down with a few other girls. And then there was the final one
Kenta__Naruto_OC_Commission_by_hyarion.jpg

The slim student wearing a hooded shirt walked in rather nonchalantly for being one of the last students to come in to the class. He sighed through his teeth as he saw most of the sits in the back taken by now...The boy moved to one of the empty seats, which happened to be right behind Maji. After all of the were seated and the roll call started, the young boy's face turned into a slight scowl as he said "Murayama Kenta". After that Haru would sit down to scribble something in his notes, looking away from the class. As the happened, Kenta leaned over his seat, and threw a punch at Maji's shoulder, not a hard one but one of those annoying little kid moves as he said "Way to go, first class I see you and you already trying to be teacher’s pet huh?" speaking in a hushed tone. Some of the other students murmured, some chuckled a bit, the girl rolled her eyes simply at the sight. The boy who was seated relatively close said in a hushed tone "Come on Kenta, leave the guy alone..." to which the boy simply scoffed saying "Hell I will. Little shit needs to learn his place... Besides, this is some new teacher, heard he sucks...so don’t think he kissing his ass will do you any favors kid" he concluded, grinning wide at Maji

And then a Shuriken swished through, right before Kenta's nose, loading itself at the desk right behind him. Looking closer one would see it was brown and grainy. The boy moved his head back, then turned to see Haru staring at him. The Sunaku said "I think it’s more polite to judge a men as you meet him... and even if I do suck as a teacher, I assure you I’m very good at other things...Now, that we have all the organization things out of the way..." Haru concluded, waving his hand a bit in the air. Suddenly, the shuriken dissipated into a grainy mist of sand which flew towards the Sunaku. As it happened Haru said "Now, ladies and gentlemen, I had used on of my families signature techniques... Seeing some of you are a bit more experienced than others, or so you claim...what can you tell me about Ninjutsu techniques?" he asked, looking around the class, weighing in the reactions.

As the roll continued, students, one-by-one, called out their names to the instructor. Maji turned his head curiously at each kid that called out their name. He had a simple, innocent grin on his face throughout. None of the students within the classroom particularly stood out to him. There was a pudgier boy and a blonde girl, but that's all that stuck to him. Well, until some hooded boy walked in late.

The kid seemed a little mischievous, or so Maji thought. He kind of looked cool, though. Maji kept him in his peripheral vision until he sat behind him. The boy revealed himself as Kenta to the sensei, and then, when the teacher was distracted, nudged Maji on the arm with his fist. The pink-eyed boy turned his head and smiled lightly. “Hey-” Then Kenta interrupted him.

The hooded, dark-skinned kid spoke negatively to the white-haired student. Maji's smile faded and slowly turned into a frown. He felt like Kenta didn't like him. The way he spoke to him made Maji feel uncomfortable and slightly inferior. Before Maji could respond, Haru sent a sandy shuriken whistling passed the kid. That shut him up.

With that, class began.

The instructor asked a question regarding ninjutsu techniques. Maji, still not getting the full gist of what Kenta claimed him to be, rose his hand. If he was picked, he'd respond half-sheepishly. “Um, Haru-sensei, I read that Ninjutsu is a physical manifestation of a person's chakra used to create shinobi techniques.” he coughed, rubbed his chin, and continued. “I also read that ninjas can use this to control elements and other forces, and even shape them. It's pretty cool.”

Maji wasn't a nerd or anything - he had just been reading a lot about shinobi arts to make up for the fact that this was all still a foreign subject to him. He still couldn't use any ninjutsu, at this point, but he tried to gain all the knowledge he could. Hopefully he didn't sound smart-alecy to the other students. He didn't intend to show off at all.

[OOC: Sorry for late post! I've been home for the week for Thanksgiving holiday so I've been busy. Cheers!]

As Haru asked his question he was paying attention to the class, looking quite keenly at everyone. Hence Kenta didn’t have the chance to berate Maji once he spoke about jutsu, though he did give out an audible groan as the white haired student said his piece. With a smile he nodded after he finished saying “That’s a pretty good explanation. Anyone else would like to add something?”. Most of the class was silent but the blonde girl rose her hand saying “Erm, well, you can also use them to cast illusions on your enemies right Teacher-san?” to which he replied “Well, true, but Genjutsu and Ninjutsu are not quite the same. Genjutsu has you use the power of you enemy against them, to some degree, while with Ninjutsu, it’s all about you and your own energy”. After that Kenta decided to quip in saying “Who needs all those fancy fireballs anyway? I’d like to see someone do all those fancy seals when I’m right in their face with my fists!” n a rather loud tone, to which Haru only replied “Well, first you have to get to them with you fists. And trust me, the little Shuriken I sent at you was only a sample of my abilities”. The boy didn’t seem to care much about his words, but that wasn’t something Haru was not used to.

With a gentle coughed the teacher spoke on “I understand some of you might be more interested in other forms of the Shinobi craft. Some of you want to be Taijutsu experts, using their bodies to crush your foes. Some might be allured by Genjutsu, the act of deception and making you opponents face themselves. The truth is though, in order to be a true Shinobi, you need to have an understanding of all these arts. What fuels all our powers is Chakra, our inner power. A mixture of raw physical strength, the natural alignment towards elements, and that something extra which makes us Sunan Shinobi endure throughout the direst of circumstance. An since were at the topic of elements…as far as I can see most of you are fresh students…at least in this type of class. So we’ll try and see what sort of elemental affinity you might possess”.

Slowly, Harupia moved from child to child, placing on their desk a simple white piece of paper saying “Now, some of you might have seen this already in some way. These are chakra papers, a special tool which will allow us to see what are you natural elemental alignments. It’s quite simple, you simply need to focus you chakra into your fingertips, and the paper will do the same”. As he gave every student their piece, most of them luckily looking like they didn’t go through this procedure before, he carried on “Now I’m not sure how much practice you all have with actually conjuring you own chakra…but this will be a good starting practice, or just a refreshment of what you know. The basics are simple really. Just imagine you hand holding the card, feel its texture and focus on it. Will your body to direct the energy towards it. And as you do it…” he paused, holding a paper of his own, which seconds alter seemed to crumple away into a fine dust “you will learn which element will be most familiar to you. Go on now, everyone give it a go. Don’t worry if you fail at first. Once you feel the slightly pulse of you energy, just focus on it, and everything should go smoothly from there”

Maji's ears perked as his instructor acknowledged his explanaton as 'good' and continued. He glanced at the blonde girl as she mentioned Genjutsu, but then nodded as the teacher corrected her. He knew that. He wasn't fond of Genjutsu, though, in comparison to ninjutsu or taijutsu. Illusions seemed deceitful and kind of unfair... he didn't like messing with people's minds. Trickery wasn't his thing.

Kenta, the rowdy student, then shouted out something about wanting to use solely his fists instead. Was he a Taijutsuist? Interesting. Maji gave him a side glance and blinked curiously. Taijutsu was probably the art that resonated with the pink-eyed student the most. He wasn't sure if he was more naturally attuned to it, or if Okibi was shaping him to be this way. No matter, he wanted to see how well the other boy performed. He appeared strong-looking, so maybe he was good. Hopefully he'd be willing to share a thing or two with Maji later!

Haru-sensei continued to lecture on chakra and Ninjutsu. He claimed that to be a great shinobi, one must have a good sense of all arts. Maji's mouth opened and his expression was painted with interest – maybe Genjutsu wasn't as bad as he thought? Perhaps a little openness to it would be necessary. The instructor then went on to speak about elemental affinities and then proposed an exercise. It sounded fun and intriguing as heck.

Maji instantly got excited. He gazed at the dark-skinned instructor with a sense of awe as he brought out the chakra paper and channeled his chakra into it. It turned into fine sand. How did he do that? The white-haired student was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to do that. He hardly knew how to channel his own chakra. He'd attempt at it anyways and follow the instructions of his teacher.

Chakra papers were handed out. Maji held onto one and focused the little chakra and energy he had on it. He focused intensely at the chakra paper for a minute or so, but nothing happened. His eyes darted to his sides as he heard some students shout in success. Some students turned there papers into flames, some transformed them into water. This didn't discourage him, though. He felt more encouraged and pumped to accomplish this! He went back to concentrating on his slip.

A few minutes passed, and after making expressions that resembled constipation and almost biting his lip until it almost bled, he sighed and rubbed a bead of sweat off his brow. It wasn't working for him. He glanced up at the teacher and grinned as if he had everything under control even though he clearly didn't. No need to worry or fret; it was all going to work out in the end.

...Hopefully.

Although the slight urge of giving up resonated in the back of his consciousness, he ignored it and pushed forward. Suddenly, he felt a pulse of energy as the teacher described. He focused on it with all his might, and suddenly the paper became a bit earthy. He couldn't tell if he was creating stone or some type of wood; the texture felt like a mixture. However, Maji was only able to transform half his paper. The boy sighed again and smiled faintly. “I'm not too good at this, Ippin.” he said aloud to his lizard butterly pet. She growled and fluttered her wings against his face as for him to keep trying.

So he did.

It seems that so far so good it was going pretty well, as none of the students seemed to complain about this exercise being redundant. Well, the little troublemaker seemed to be somewhat indifferent to the whole thing, but after Haru stood over him for a few seconds he did decide to comply with his instructions. He heard a bit about the child from other teachers. A typical troublemaker, though coming from an unpleasant family background. He was a bit of a hassle to deal with, but he heard he was a dedicated kid, sometimes to lengths some teachers found excessive. But Haru himself could appreciate hard work, and he wanted to motivate the child rather than just throw him out or something like that. He really wanted to work hard with these kids, especially after how his last class went.

As time went on he saw more and more students discover their elements, each of them differing. The girl who spoke about Genjutsu turned out to be water inclined (which always had him confused with them living in the desert…nature works in strange ways) the more chubby boy seemed to be a fire person…Even Kenta after some trying, and doing some rather amusing faces, managed to slice his card in half. Wind…somehow it seemed fitting for the boy. After a while he came back down and cast a look at Maji… and it seemed it wasn’t going as smoothly for him.

Though he was concentrating hard, and it seemed the paper was shaping itself differently…The silence was broken by Kenta who said “Well, looks like our bookworm is just all talk but no skill, haha” though a quick glance from Haru quickly made him silent…though there was a self-satisfied grin on his face still. Approaching Maji he would say “Don’t worry now, it can be somewhat tricky for someone’s first try…Can you let me see your paper for a second?” he asked, extending his hand to take the paper from the boy. It seemed a bit grainy in touch, but it was…well, different. Much more solid than the typical earth user. After a bit of pondering he said “Curious…it seems you have a strong inclination to the element of earth…so strong that its actually assuming the form of rock. Can you tell me the name of you clan Maji?” he asked handing him the paper back. While the papers were made mostly to see the basic four elements, a strong focus could make some other results happen. He could make the paper crumple into sand if trying hard enough…but he couldn’t recall ever meeting anyone with a natural inclination to stone. This was quite an intriguing thing…though he saw other children start to peer down as well. He needed to be careful. He knew sometimes kids didn’t like their peers being focused on too much.

Maji tried and tried, and though he had little success, it wasn't enough to transform the chakra paper into a specific element. It felt a bit stony, but that's as far as it went. He was a little frustrated, but he remained hopeful regardless of the fact that he was probably going to be one of the last students to accomplish this task. Others began to notice, specifically Kenta, and poked fun at him. Maji blushed and his eyes watered a little. Although he was a little hurt by his reaction, it was true. The other dark-skinned student was right. He obviously knew his stuff, but applying knowledge was a lot harder than it seemed to be. It was also in this moment that Maji realized that he was no prodigy or genius. It didn't really matter, it just meant he had to work harder.

Luckily, the pink-eyed boy had a gracious and kind instructor. Instead of belittling him and/or getting aggravated with his performance, his teacher gave him encouragement and exhibited incredible understanding. He was such a good person! Maji grinned and handed the chakra paper to him. Through his teacher's assistance, he knew he'd get this in no time.

As his sensei examined the chakra slip, Maji studied his reaction. He looked as if he was in thought as he examined the grainy paper. The sand-affinitied instructor then verbally responded to his observations. Maji's ears perked as he listened. So he had an inclination to the earth element? And not only that, but it was so strong that it became rock-like? Maji's smile expanded to each side of his face as he lit up like a light. Maybe he wasn't so bad at this after all.

But then his instructor asked about his clan.

Maji froze. “Clan?” he asked rhetorically as if to stall time between a response while he thought about the query. He wished he could answer, but he didn't remember much about his origins. The amnesia he gained after he was found half-dead at the gates by Okibi hindered him from such. He shifted his head downward and glanced to the side sheepishly. “I don't remember.” He didn't sound so much sad as he did embarrassed. Was it shameful not to remember where you came from? Families, surname, and clans seemed important within the realm of shinobi, but Maji failed to recall a single memory. It was unfortunate.

He knew he had to recover from this, and fast. He lifted his head and forced an expression that almost looked like a smile.

“Why, Haru-sensei? Do you think my clan has anything to do with why my chakra paper started turning into a stone?”

Heck, maybe the question he asked would be more beneficial and fruitful than he anticipated. He attempted to use it as a type of distraction or diversion, but it was a rational question that could provide enlightenment. Perhaps Haru-sensei knew things that would help him out in discovering his past or who he was? Where there any specific clans that had this ability? Whether or not Haru-sensei knew the answer, it was an interesting concept to ponder upon.

It seemed that besides some snickering and hushed whispers, only Kenta was vocal about teasing the boy. As he considered just what could these paper mean, Maji said how he didn’t remember the clan he was from. Which was odd... but it had several explanations...most of which were not pleasant. The list didn’t note the origin of the student, so he wasn’t sure if came from outside, was he orphaned, or what was his story...but now he felt bad about asking. Not knowing your roots was a painful subject to most people...though the child seemed eager to learn at any rate.

Before he could answer one of the kids wearing a silly looking gas mask spoke out "Well duh. Ever heard of Bloodline abilities? It’s obvious if you in one that it would impact you abilities..." The girl from earlier said with a hoof " How silly of you, you don’t even remember you family name..." to which Kenta added with a wide grin "Or maybe they just wiped you head and left you in the dirt, hehe. You probably too weak of a pipsqueak for you clan to want you in it" to which the chubby child replied "Kind of like you family did, huh Kenta?" That clearly infuriate the dark haired boy who stood up saying "What did you say you..."

QUIET!!! Haru shouted at the class, while stomping his foot on the ground, with enough force to make it seem the whole class rumbled, the effect enforced by the sand kicking up from the floor. After that as most of the class looked at him surprised he said "I’m not sure what you heard about me, but while I’m a nice guy in general, I WILL NOT tolerate disrespect, be it towards me or you classmates. You are in the Shinobi Academy! If you want to become the future of our village, you all better start acting less like spoiled children!" His outbreak seemed to work, most of the class hushing up, some looking at him in a displeased manner, but still. He didn’t really like being rough, but he had a mean streak if it was needed. His dad would probably nod in approval at this scene, heh.

Taking a calming breath, Haru would say "Returning to Maji's question, which might not be as obvious to some students, there are many bloodlines within the Shinobi world. Some of them so powerful they imbue special abilities to those of their heritage. Sometimes the bloodline can grow obscure, and vanish from the face of the earth. But if someone has a speck of its power, there is always a chance to awaken it..."

As he spoke, more sand started to gather behind him, shaping up into something roughly familiar to a human body while he spoke on "But I’m not here to flaunt the advantages of an ancient heritage. I am here to show you that the greatest power lies within our muscles, our spirit, our chakra...and once you learn to control that, you can perform feats equal of even greater than those you hear in stories about"

As the sand clone shaped behind him he finally asked "Soo, what experience do you all have with actually using Ninjutsu, hmm?"

Before the instructor could answer the white-haired boy’s questions, a few of the students spoke up instead. Maji gazed at each one of them curiously as they spoke out loud. Bloodlines? Obvious? Unfortunate? And then the mouthiest kid in the class himself gave Maji a firm dose of verbal cruelty evoked by some type of anger. The pink-eyed student winced as a result as his eyes grew slightly watery.

Why did Kenta seem to dislike him? He didn’t recall offending the boy in any way… Maji couldn’t make sense of it. His words hurt a little and it sparked some confusion in his mind. What if he was right? What if his family did leave him to die because they thought he was inadequate and not good enough? The thought of it pained him a bit, but he tried to ignore it. Besides, judging from what the pudgy boy said, it sounded as if Kenta was speaking from a different place that didn’t have to do much with Maji.

He was a little too upset to feel sympathy for him, though.

Before things could escalate even more so then they could, Haru-sensei, with a firm and terrifying tone, quieted the class with a loud shout. Maji and Ippin jumped up in surprise; they didn’t expect his teacher to respond in that way. He figured it was good that he did, though, because the class actually appeared to listen. Discipline, or so he read, was vital for a shinobi to learn, integrate, and practice. Maybe he was executing that philosophy.

Maji’s sensei then regained his cool and went on to answer Maji’s question. Maji’s ears perked up as a response. Bloodlines, eh? In the back of his mind, at that moment, he wondered if he had one. He didn’t dwell on it too much, but it’d be something to consider later. He was still a little shook from the heated events and words thrown to really focus on that. Besides, this class was about Ninjutsu, and Haru-sensei was quick to remind them about that.

Suddenly, another person formed out of sand besides his instructor. It was like a clone of him of some sort. Ninjas had the ability to do that, he read. It was pretty cool seeing it in action – Haru must have been an awesome shinobi!

His sensei asked them about their experience with Ninjutsu. Maji quietly shook his head ‘no’ to signify he had zero experience. He would have answered like he had been, but he figured it’d be best, for his sake, to remain silent for now. He didn’t want to give more fuel to the other students to mock him further. Plus, he thought it'd be wise to listen. He was here to learn, after all.

Haru really didn’t like pulling out the discipline card too often, since he didn’t enjoy having it pulled back on him. But still, sometimes he felt it was needed, and so far it was paying off, since the students were much more compliant...also more quiet, but he hoped he'd manage to fix that. After Maji, other students started to respond, the boy saying "Well Haru-san, so far we had mostly theoretical lessons on that subject. The most practical thing we did so far was training with Shuriken..." while gently rubbing his cheek, casting a foul glance at Kenta, who only really smirked at the boy. With a chuckle, Haru would then say "Well, I think that this class should be a bit more interesting that that..." before he flicked his hand in a seemingly casual manner, but which caused a quick, slashing gust of wind to fly through the air, towards the target, which got a decently sized cut, but quickly reformed"

"The Wind Slash. One of the most basic just, bending the air around you into a simple weapon. And today, we shall be training how to use it. I know not all of you have the affinity with wind, but what I want to show you shouldn’t see that as a limitation. Regardless of what your charkas nature is, or by extension, it doesn’t matter if now you too weak to do Ninjutsu or Taijutsu well. With enough practice, you can gain full command of any of the Shinobi arts. But starting small will be a good start regardless" he said with a chuckle

Stepping a bit closer to the class, he extended his hands and ran them through three simple seals as he said "Now, this is a very basic jutsu, so the most basic rules you have been taught apply here. Focus you chakra in in your hands, particularly in your fingers, while imagining the shape of the attack. Imagine a shuriken or any other sort of blade you would throw, but clear the thought the better it will be. After the seals, and once you feel a burst of energy at your fingers, you swing the bat the target as you call out the Jutsu name. Wind Style: Wind Slash!.. A bit redundant, but who am I to question the ancient creators of Jutsu huh?"

After the explanation he would say "Alright everyone, nice and easy now, come down here and stand in line, give the first person a bit of space. Aim for the Sand Clone I made...I’ll be here to help and make sure no one gets hurt, so don’t be scared now" he said smiling wide, moving a bit to the side. The students gathered down the class rather hastily, some of them managing to push themselves before Maji. As the line formed itself, the brown hairdo boy would move closer to Maji and ask "Hey, you feeling ok?" his face looking mostly neutral. He wasn’t breaming with happiness but he wasn’t particularly sad looking, just normal.

The class continued and Maji sighed in relief as a response. He was glad everyone seemed to move along from the last portion of the class. He didn’t really want to linger on any drama or negative emotion, so it was cool that the instructor moved it along. They continued their lecture on Ninjutsu. After the brown-haired boy’s point regarding shuriken, Haru-sensei formed some type of wind energy and flung it at his sand clone. It pierced the clone and caused it to depart somewhat, but it reformed hastily. Maji “oo’d” in response.

The teacher went on to explain the jutsu he had just used. Wait, they were going to have to perform a Ninjutsu right now? Haru-sensei claimed it was easy enough, but until this point, Maji had never formed a complete Ninjutsu. Heck, he barely even knew how to control his own chakra. He gulped nervously and chuckled silently to himself. Ippin could sense his tension and tried to ease him up a bit with a reassuring growl. The white-haired student nodded in response and pat her on the head. While he appreciated her gesture, it didn’t make him feel any less anxious. If the class thought he was weak now, he could only imagine what they would think of him after this exercise.

He’d still try, though, regardless that the chances of failure were high.

Following his instructor’s instruction, he moved into a line, gazed downward, and fiddled his thumbs nervously. One by one, most students were successfully performing the jutsu and hitting their intended target, the sand clone. Some took a couple of tries, but they did it nonetheless. This made Maji even more worried. What if he was the only student who couldn’t complete this seemingly simple task?

As his mind raced, it was interrupted by a brown-haired boys words. Maji shook his head, as if snapped out of it, and answered him with a smile. “I’m fine, thank you. Just a bit nervous.” he admitted. Although he was uncertain as to what would happen, he did feel a little comforted that one of his peers appeared to care about his emotional state of being. That brought him some encouragement and assurance regardless of how small the boy’s gesture was. “Ninjutsu… this is fun stuff. Good luck!” he announced to the boy besides him with a cheerful and slightly anxious grin.

Maji was finally up next.

The boy patted his face, started to stretch as if it would help, and took a deep breath. He formed the seals shown to him by his instructor and concentrated on focusing his chakra. He felt something at that moment, but he wasn’t sure what it was. Gas, maybe? Or is that how chakra felt?

“Wind Style: Wind Slash!” he yelled out with determination as he targeted the sand clone before him.

Nothing happened.

He sighed and shook his head. He sharpened his posture, repositioned himself, and formed the seals again. “Wind Style: Wind Slash!” he shouted again, this time with more oomph.

Nothing happened.

Maji blushed slightly and glanced at his teacher. Should he continue? If he allowed him, he would. One more time. “Wind Style: Wind Slash!” he commanded with utmost certainty. Suddenly, a small burst of wind erupted from his hands and flew towards the sand clone. It wasn’t enough force to make an impressive impact, but it was enough to give it a small cut on its face. The sand particles quickly reformed and erased any signs of being hit. The jutsu he let out would seem pretty pathetic and miniscule, but his face lit up with excitement. This was a huge victory for him.

“I did it!” he chanted as he ran up to his instructor to give him a high five. Whether he did or not, he'd continue. “I’m one step closer to becoming a ninja! Thanks for believing in me.” This was his first Ninjutsu ever, and although it wasn’t strong or showy, it was enough to boost his confidence and give him hope. Hope is all he needed despite any ridicule he’d receive.

The young boy smiled while saying "Its fine, this stuff is pretty simple if you focus enough. And don’t worry too much about Kenta. He always acts stupid like that" before the boy grunted bit, turning to see the hooded boy nudging him in the ribs a bit quietly saying *Shut year trap Koji" to which the brown haired boy only glared, not really saying anything. He quickly turned to Maji to whisper "Thanks, and same to you" as the line moved on.

One by one the students moved to the position, and under Harupias guidance attempted to fire of the wind Jutsu. Some of them seemed pretty well inclined, doing it in one turn, others took more time. Although the strength and accuracy of their abilities varied greatly, some managing to project the technique but miss the target a few. Harupia had them repeat it a few times, taking he time to show the proper seals and adjusts their fingers if they needed to. But the group moved rather smoothly, some of the kids looking happy, some of them a bit bored with the experience.

"Very nice blast Maya, good job" he said as the blonde girl moved away to her group of friends, after which it was Maji's turn. He watched carefully as the boy assumed the position and preformed the seals...and nothing happened. Haru reminded still after the first and second attempt, seeing the boy was trying hard. He didn’t want to help him prematurely, he would only step in after it seemed he really needed the help. And it seemed like a good choice, as finally managed to crate the blast, grazing his clones cheek. Maji seemed quite ecstatic about his achievement, even running up to him after it. With a chuckle, Harupia returned the gesture, gently slapping his hand against the boys, as he said "That was a nice shoot. Still would need a bit more oomph to it, but you aimed it very well. Just keep on training hard and you’ll be a valuable Shinobi of Sand in no time" before letting him step to the side to make place for the other kids.

Koji managed to perform the technique in three tries as well, though he aimed it a bit worse grazing the clones Shoulder. Kenta seemed to struggle rather hard, going 4 attempts without a result. Before Haru could step in, the angry boy shouted out the justs name, shooting a blast of wind which swept by quickly, missing the clones...but making a large slash across the wall of the room. Kenta smirked seeing "See that teach! That's how you do jutsu" to which Haru said "A nice blast indeed...you just have to hope the target steps right into it next time". The boy pouted while saying "At least it caused some damage. Majin's blast barely even grazed the target!"

Harupia bopped the hooded boy gently on top of his head saying "No matter how strong you attack will be, it won’t be worth much if you keep missing the mark. So you need to practice a bit still, especially with wind being you natural element..." After that he turned to the class saying "All of you did well today. I know one jutsu is a small step, and some of you might even not like the technique. But I wanted to show you that teaching yourself a jutsu, even one outside of you natural element, is not quite hard. So remember that, go to the library and start reading up on those scrolls. Hopefully next time you’ll have a bigger arsenal of tricks, so we can start some more exciting practice... For now, class is dismissed, Gooday to you all!" he said with a grin, before stepping aside, letting the young students run of. Koji turned to smile at Maji saying "Nice job. See you in another class" before he went out. Kenta simply huffed, sending a foul look towards the boy with the small lizard before heading of as well. This class went much smoother than his first one...so Haru could be at least semi satisfied with himself.
