Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The sunset was right on time as Uzi found himself in the Kage Tower. After this he would go home and get some rest. He doubted he'd catch any zzz's with such a matter on his mind, but at least he'd be off duty. 'If only this meeting were under different circumstances. This must be a sign that there is a time and a place.' Now in the tower, Uzi wondered about the attacks that the Leaf endured.

Uzi imagined a wandering shinobi entered their village unseen. Perhaps had a cup of tea, got into some type of bar fight with Leaf Security, and fled before being contained. They found nothing more than a Suna forehead protector on the ground, the only clue they had as the identity of the culprit.

He made his way towards the Kage's Office. A simple knock echoed through the halls as Uzi prepared the letter. He would await an answer, putting his free hand over his ANBU vest shoulder strap before pushing the door open.

Having escorted Uziuke to the tower, and now both of them present in front of the door he would stop his former subordinate before he had a change to fully push open the door. "Ya know, I can take over this delivery. You looking to be relieved and all. You did well keeping it safe until now, you've earned your time off." Just a suggestion, attempting to pull rank and offer him a way out. He wondered if he would recognize the old Anbu Captain, aka Ruin. Granted they never had an opportunity to officially work together, but you would figure most Anbu know of at least a few others, especially one as vetted as Kaen.

Uzi thought it over, but he came to the conclusion that he would feel like a coward if he left now. Uziuke sighed, removing his mask, revealing his face. His red eyes now piercing Kaen's mask. "Look, I know what I said earlier, but that's not the case." His mind left entering the Kage's Office for a moment as his new focus was now on the Ex ANBU Captain.

"Of course I'd like to be off duty, but this matter is so much more than contemplating if I get off a few minutes early. I didn't mean to give off the sloucher vibe earlier." Uzi turned his head and closed his eyes, a bit ashamed. It was a trait the he wouldn't allow himself to pick up.

"Truth is, The boy opened his eyes, looking to the other dressed in ANBU attire. "This matter is about the well being of Suna and Konoha's alliance." Uzi gave Kaen a few seconds to digest his words before going on. "I'm not from Suna, I could have chose to run and hide tail, but I didn't." Uzi paused for a second. He never thought he'd be putting his neck on the line for another village, but here he was, ready to put his life on the line for a Suna-Nin that he didn't even know. Moreover, for the one that now stood before him. "I don't know what I'm getting myself into, I'm from Kirigakire, but I wouldn't give it a second thought to help defend this village and each of it's Nin, especially considering what has been done for me." He'd come a long way, morales, views, goals. He wasn't the same kid that he was years ago. He was proud of himself for making it this far. He used to be one without a purpose, finding reasons to be that tool that shinobi were forced to be. Now, he actually had something more to live for, and carried that weight on his shoulders.

"So I'm not going to leave you guys here while I take the high road and shrug this matter off. I'll be here until each situation is diffused, and then some." Yep, seems like Suna has unlimited frequent flier miles with Uziuke. He wasn't the Mizukage, but Suna had an alliance with Mist as far as he was concerned, even if he was just one ninja. He placed his mask back upon his face, concealing his individuality once more and becoming one if the shadows again. "Thanks for being here, we need all the help we can get with this one." A less formal tone was taken as Uzi looked back to the Kage's door. He wondered how much of that conversation he'd heard.

"Who are you, if you don't mind me asking?"

How curious that this Anbu would so quickly reveal his identity to someone he didn't even know. Kaen sympathized with this ideal, not one to go 'by the book'. It was dangerous for an Anbu to reveal their identity, even to another Anbu. Kaen respected his courage and his affinity to break or bend a few rules. Kaen digested the words spoken to him, he could appreciate them. This guy seemed honorable in his dedication towards Sunagakure. When he asked who Kaen was a grin would form behind his mask. With on swift motion he would remove his mask and re-seal his attire back into the scroll it came from. It almost seemed magical, the transformation.

"It's a pleasure to assist in this, we're all on big family after all..." Pausing a moment he would stare at the door before pushing it open. "The name's Kaen, Shinku Kaen. I think we've delayed this meeting enough, let us proceed." With one effortless push the door swung open. Would Raizo, the Kazekage be awaiting them on the other side? Either way it was fortunate that he arrived when he did, this was precious news indeed.

He was alerted to the masked corpsman approaching his office, but then it would seem news of another masked individual would be joining him. It was curious for two members of the masked division to come calling, and if anything made whatever the matter was feel ominous. He would not rush the matter, however, as he was intent on waiting for the news to get to him. That said, his curiosity was adequately peaked.

"Kazekage-sama, please sit down!" the medical shinobi would plead.

"Shhhhh, I can already barely hear with all this damn beeping!" the Kazekage would snap back, but in a silenced tone.

Upon his body were fresh bandages and wires and tubing that connected to him. One was clearly for an ivy drip, which could be seen scooting along with him, while the remaining were for electronic sensors, a new wave that was starting to encroach into Wind Country from the outside world, that would monitor various other vital signs. The top of his kimono would be lowered allowing ease of access for the medical equipment.

Wait... Uzi... did he say Uzi... HELL YEA, UZI!

The Kazekage was prepared to knock down the door and welcome his friend before a pair of feminine hands would appear around him followed by a squeak of, "help" from his lips.

Because of this, when Kaen would pull open the door he and Uziuke would not see the Kazekage at the door, clearly snooping, nor would they even see him up out of place. Instead, he would be seated at his Kage desk with his kimono top now halfway on, all though mild signs of a struggle would be present in the room, with his attendant, Yukina (NPC Yukina), would be standing behind him with a firm grip on his shoulder. The medical shinobi would be gathering up their items to excuse themself from the room but would have a visibly shocked look on their face.

"Welcome fellas, how can I be of assistance today?"

As Kaen pushed open the door, Uzi followed suit and headed into the Kage's Office, taking out the letter and clutching it in his grasp. 'That guy looks completely different in his normal attire.'

He first saw the medical woman that was leaving the room. Judging from the look on her face, Uzi could assume either one of two things. One, that Raizo gave her a hard time with the procedure, or two, she didn't expect the visitors at this hour. Uzi expected the latter, but he could have been wrong.

As the medical woman was excused, Uzi looked over to Raizo. It was obvious that Raizo was still recovering from the injuries he sustained. Yukina, the assistant that he'd remembered from the war room, happened to be at the Kage's side. "Kazekage-Sama, Yukina-san." Uzi took a slight bow as the two visitors were welcomed. Thinking back to the situation with the Unbent, Uzi felt as though the matter wasn't over. There were still a few things that lingered in his mind from that day, but he shoved it aside as he remembered why he was in the office today.

His usual calm demeanor was overtaken by a more serious approach. Gauging the severity of the situation from the letter, it was something not to be taken lightly. He stood up from his bow, now looking Raizo in the eyes. "I wish we were here on lighter matters Raizo, but this time it's an urgent message from Konoha." He sprawled the letter across Raizo's desk so that he'd be able to read it from his seat.

Konohagakure and Sunagakure have had a difficult relationship in times passed, words have been exchanged. Actions and decisions have been taken which us, as Konoha, have acknowledged and respected. Although communication has been slim we have respected your own sovereignty and simply tried to live a peaceful live in the cruel world of the Shinobi. We expected for any discourse to come into discussion, we expected any insult to be brought up.

We did not expect this.

Recently Konoha has been victim of unprovoked, unsanctioned attacks by an individual dressed in the kin of a Sunagakure shinobi with it's respective headband. Unacceptable doesn't come close to what those actions merit. Although we would like to believe Sunagakure did not have any notion of this, the evidence suggests it was a premeditated attack on foreign ground without provocation or causation with a particular goal in mind.

As of this moment. Any and all agreement between the two villages has been suspended upon completion of an investigation by Konohagakure to fully understand the events and uncover the truth of the matter.

A delegation of Konoha shinobi is being sent to Sunagakure to interview and conduct an investigation to find out the truth. It is expected they will be let through and have independence enough to conduct their work upon this matter. Cooperation is expected to divulge the proper information concerning this matter and to avoid misunderstanding in this precarious situation.

Signs,
Uchiha Asuka
5th Hokage of Konohagakure

Uzi would wait until Raizo read through the letter before he proceeded. "I arrived here with Kaen as soon as the bird arrived at our gates, letter attached to it's leg." Uzi looked to Kaen and nodded, then looked back to Raizo. "I know it wasn't an attack under your orders, so I'm assuming it was either a rouge shinobi, possibly from here, or some type of other threat." Uzi ended it there, wondering Raizo's take, and if Kaen had anything to say on the matter. Giving his own spill, he'd remain quiet as he listened to any comments the two had.

Having been to occupied on attempting to give Uziuke the chance to take off early Kaen had failed to notice any of the shenanigans transpiring on the other side of the thick, wooden door. Upon gaining a visual of the state of the room Kaen could immediately tell that there had been a struggle of sorts. But not the dangerious threat to the village type, more like Lord Raizo had been misbehaving and his loyal hand, Yukina, had addressed the issue, so to speak. A grin would form on his face as he and his new friend were greeted by the illustrious Kazekage, Lord Raizo. Like an echo Kaen would respond to their Kazekage. "Lord Raizo, Lady Yukina..." He too would give a polite bow in the process. After he would rise and get a better look at the Kazekage who seemed to still be nursing a wound. I suppose that's why the med-nin had been here. Stubborn as ever, Raizo was. He could be on the brink of death and still try to adhere to his responsibilities as the Kazekage. He respected him for that.

As Uziuke approached Raizo's desk Kaen would follow suit. He had yet to see the actual contents of the letter in question, and he was most curious to read it. So when the Anbu member sprawled the parchment out for Raizo to read he would take this opportunity to read it over himself. Uziuke would speak again and Kaen would reciprocate the nod. He spoke truth about the nature of the attack, Lord Raizo would never have given such an order. Getting a look from Uziuke hinting that this was a good chance to add his input Kaen would clear his throat. "The nature of this notice is troubling, to be sure. But we can't simply let Leaf have free reign inside these walls simply because they claim one of us attacked them. How many enemies has Suna attained over these years? Any one of them could attempt to impersonate us thinking themselves clever enough to star a great ninja war. We've seem to hit a string of bad luck with these constant attacks from the Unbent and the like. We should tread carefully here lest we open ourselves up to further devastation." At least this was his opinion on the matter. In the end the Kazekage had final say.

"Welcome, Mask-san... sadly my brain can't keep track of all the codenames, please give me your designated 'name'" he would say with a smirk while his mind would simply mutter Dammit, Uzi... take that mask off... or did I mishear from the door?

"And..."

"It is--"

"Silence, Yu. I know who the esteemed Kaen is! I went to a fancy party honoring him, I think that is what they were doing, and not only that but he and his sister were my first official welcomes to the village way back when."

A devilish smirk would consume his face and he would stand up and place his fist over the center of his chest as his expression would turn serious.

"In the name of our Kazekage, Lord Katsuo of the prestigious Sunahoshi clan, I order you to cease and desist!"

He would begin to chuckle heartedly as he would lower his stance to a more relaxed demeanor. From the bandaging that wrapped around his chest there would appear a strange purple coloring that started to seep out. The expression on Raizo would become pained for a moment before his body would begin to emit chakra. The energy would coat his entire body as the discoloration would seemingly inch back under the bandages. Yukina's expression would look rather dour as she watched the Kazekage, but Raizo would not turn to face her... though he could still feel her look.

"Anyways, let's get to business."

He would listen to both of them as he would begin reading the note. He would sigh as he read.

"Does a child run that village..." he would mutter to himself as he would return his attention to the two shinobi within the room, the messengers of this news.

"Both of you are right. I wouldn't issue any sort of attack, and if I was planning to go to war with another village it wouldn't be some paltry attack of a single person. What, am I super villain sending my mid-boss to send a message?"

He would then point towards Kaen, "and you are correct; it serves us no benefit to willingly agree to let them come into our village and have full reign to do whatever."

"I am not welcoming a raiding party into this village, nor are we subservient to the whims of another village. Leaf isn't our master, and while they say they are suspending any agreements, I couldn't pinpoint any impact that will have on our day-to-day... that said, we can't not do anything about this. Even if it is a setup, I can already hear Sousuke chirping in my head about the need to handle this politically."

He would have an idea that he would like to go with, but he did have complete faith in those who had the trust of the village. So he would pause momentarily and return the floor to both shinobi before him. What would they do, and what will they say? He was curious, so he would wait for them to present their own ideas, should they have any. But he also was still a straightforward person at heart, so he wouldn't just expect them to answer, so he would provide the needed prompt:

"What would you do in response?"

'Mask-san? Oi.' Completely forgetting that he was in uniform, Uzi lifted his mask, it now resting atop his head. His messy white hair became mushed under the mask, but was still quite visible. He hadn't thought of a codename yet, so he would have to create one on the spot.b"Rose petal. Codename rose petal." Uzi repeated it twice, assuring himself that he wanted to keep the name. He came up with it quick, comparing himself to the roses that were used to introduce the presence of a greater one. He thought nothing more of it, pushing the codename agenda to the side.

To hear the prestige behind Kaen's name gave Uzi a second impression of the Jounin. It seemed he was actually much more than a faceless shadow. Breaking the ANBU out of his thoughts would be the purple ooze that began to drip from Raizo's chest. He caught himself before he jumped over the desk to try to aid in healing the Kage. Merley brushing it off, Raizo continued on as if it weren't a problem at all. Uzi had his doubts, there was no pain at all behind those bandages? The thought graced his mind, and he almost knew Raizo was hiding and holding in his pain.

Being asked what would he do, Uzi found it time to speak up again. "Hmm... Konoha is one of the villages I would keep peace with. I've traveled and seen a few of the other villages, and if The Leaf really lives up to it's name, then we should keep good relations with them." This was quite the predicament. "We could explain our side of the story, and maybe even have a team sent out to aid them with their troubles." Uzi rubbed his chin, wondering if he was growing any chin hairs

"I also agree with denying them entry into the village. If word got out about what was going on, people would begin to fear us shinobi and our affairs. Also, aiding them could only be a benefit, as we could find whoever this traitor is that's trying to make a mockery of our village. Two birds, one stone." That's what came to the top of his head at the moment, but with the other's input, maybe they could put a solid plan together.

Kaen would use every ounce of effort he had to try and not snicker, but the subtle laugh still escaped his lips. That was surely a name he would never forget, Rose Petal. There was, of course, the chance that he held some sort of lineage of the Yamanaka clan, but that was doubtful considering the scarlet hues that made up his eyes. Coughing and clearing his throat he pushed back the humor of the name and focused in on the situation at hand. Raizo shared similar sentiments about Leaf. They certainly were not Suna's keeper, less so considering that their 'agreements' would hardly effect the day to day of Sunagakure. They had little to stand on aside from this empty accusation. Though they would come regardless of how anybody in this room felt, he knew it for a fact.

Listening to Raizo's words, followed by Uziuke's opinion on how best to address the issue, Kaen would nod along waiting for his turn. He agreed with the Anbu member, for the most part. "Sousuke would..." He started, echoing Raizo's comments about the esteemed Lord Sousuke. At times it seemed like he was more politician than machine. "I suppose it would be best to play nice, but only as far as needed to have them on their way. We have nothing to explain anyway, these accusations are just that, merely speculation. If it were me I would tell them to kick sand. But I'm not exactly the political sort. They should just hand the investigation over to us, obviously we have nothing to do with this." Kaen would cross his arms and sigh. "However... While I'm not one to ask for aide, having two groups attempting to find the individual that did this would expedite the process, but they certainly shouldn't be in charge and dictate their way about this. I do agree with Rose Petal over here though. Assign one or two to 'escort' them about the village. I would be willing to head this, if you wish. I have no pressing matters that would impede such a task." Glancing towards Uziuke he would continue. "If word does get out about this, we simply nip it in the bud. Hell, we could be proactive about this and just call it a peaceful trading committee to avoid unwanted rumors." Kaen pondered for a moment before adding on last thing. "We should send a letter back, asking for further information. At least give us a head start on the investigation. Do they have a name, or any sort of identifier to identify the culprit? These are key components I wish they would have included with this notice..." Glancing up at Yukina Kaen would give a playful wink. It amused him to no end that Raizo shut her down and greeted Kaen, remembering the grand party that not only he was given honors for. He didn't know Yukina well, but well enough to know that he bothered her for some reason.

He would listen to them both as his mind would begin to drift a bit, especially once Kaen mentioned his true personal feelings on the situation. Maybe I should tell them to fuck off... I wonder how strong those foreigners are... what sort of fight could they put up? Sousuke said they had numbers, that Leaf was a vast village, but... just how many Leaf shinobi equal a Sunan shinobi... how many would equal me... boy, I hope they don't show up to the village and start problems... heh-heh-heh...

While a slight smirk would appear on his face, without missing a beat the jab of a thumb would hit him right into his backside. Yukina, although not a mind reader, seemed to understand where Raizo's mind was headed.

And he has the audacity to question if Leaf's leader was a child...

After hearing both of their points of view, it would not seem to differ too much from where he more-or-less felt on the matter. While this whole matter was ultimately an irritation that they did not need, it also was a welcomed change of pace. Since returning from their adventure in the desert, he had only been inundated with poking and probing as the medical ninja of the village attempted to determine the toxin that was within his body. While the fiery pain seemed to be ever-present, spiking in severity sporadically, he could bear it. He could especially bare it more now that he had a new thing to focus on at the moment. Yet, the only thing that really seemed to offer him comfort was exerting chakra throughout his body consistently. It was draining, in a much different way, but whatever was afflicting him seemed to be appeased with the offering of his chakra.

"Ok, I think you both have a sharp grasp on an appropriate response. Kaen, thank you for volunteering to assist once the raiding team arrives, let's hope they are civil enough to come to our front door."

He would then point to the now unmasked ANBU (why the hell did he remove his mask and give me a codename...now I know it's just Uzi... but do I call him that or the name he gave me...), "Rose Petal, I would like you to stick around and take my response letter to the bird delivery thing... or however the hell people send messages. Like, is it just common knowledge? Do any birds work... Yukina, do we have birds just dedicated to messaging delivery... what sort of life expectancy does that sort of life lead to--"

Once more a thumb would jab into his back, this time with enough force that he would visibly wince.

"Sorry--continuing; Kaen and Rose Petal, thank you both for bringing this matter to me immediately and providing me with your own personal insights. I appreciate you both for your time and service, which leads to the next matter that this current situation will seemingly exacerbate."

A large, child-like smile would appear on his face.

"It has been far too long, and with the hiatus of the desert living Riyota, the return but medical uncertainty of Senju Kazuki, and the retirement of Sousuke from active shinobi duty, but it is time for me to officially appoint Sennin for this village. So within a month's time, I will be holding a small contest among interested shinobi of the village to determine the names I will request to fill the open posts of Sennin."

He would stand up and proudly puff up his chest as his eyes would glance at both Kaen and Uzi, "I hope you both attend this event, as I am already aware of your ability... but, it just feels like it requires more than just naming names..."

Turning around he would glance over to some of the shelves within his office that still adorned the mantle, feats, and accolades of various leaders and figures of Suna. From the beast that was more man than most, Toraono Kuro, to the previous Kageships of Katsuo and Sousuke, to the exploits of a great foreigner turned Sunan legend, Kazuki. It was the tales of a previous generation, a now fading memory.

"This village seems to have only known legends of the past. I want this event to not only serve the purpose of finding who will help fill these voids, but I want it to be a showcase. A display that while the Kuro's, Sousuke's, and Kazuki's of the world are now getting their rest... that there is a new generation with the same might and grandeur as those figures of old. So we will show them."

Once more he would let loose a laugh as he would turn back to Kaen and Uzi, "Even if it is just the two of you who show up... we will put on a show! Oooh! Yukina, arrange a festival to coincide with it..."

His voice would fade away from Kaen and Uzi momentarily as he would begin to overwhelm his pink-haired attendant with an influx of requests and ideas for his now declared event. She would once more take her thumb and jab him, but his time right into his bandaged chest where he had suffered the initial bite. This would cause an intense amount of pain to swell and surge throughout his body, causing him to momentarily buckle but not fully drop to his knees. He would then slowly once more turn around to Kaen and Uzi. A smile would still be on his face.

"Kaen, you are free to leave for now. I will alert you once we receive word back from Konoha so we can establish your duties in assisting the group. Rose Petal, as I said, stick around for a moment so I can give you my note to send off. Yukina, prepare the dictating pen!"

As if a thought would come snapping back to him, he would immediately declare, "SENNIN GAMES! Ooh, ooh, we will call it the Sennin Games! Kaen, I hope to see you there... bring that tasty fiery energy of yours!"

His mind would begin to drift into all the fun that his little games could bring... mostly to his own entertainment.

Listening to Kaen's ideas, Uzi could only agree. Escorting them through the village would prove Suna's innocence. He wondered the outcome of the entire situation. Hopefully it would be diffused before escalating into some sort of nonsense. 'Sending a letter back would be a great start.' Uzi nodded in agreement as Kaen stated the idea. Any clues that they had would help Suna's investigation on the matter as well. Uzi would make sure to get it across that they would be helping with the matter, and that the alliance of the villages should remain stable.

It's was still great to see Raizo's playful heart however. 'Maybe he will overcome this illness afterall.' A smirk graced his face as he noticed the Kage's playful nature. Uzi figured Yukina probably delivered those types of licks all day dealing with the village leader.

The mention of appointing new Sennin raised an eyebrow. Uzi wondered on the thought for a moment, listening as Raizo gave a quick description of the event. He and Kaen were invited to participate. 'Hmm... A Sennin hmm? Of course only the most dedicated should attempt for such a position.' It would be a great opportunity for him, especially considering the news he had in wait for the Kage. The news would be delivered at a later date due to the more important matters presented before them. But he'd get around to mentioning it eventually.

Uzi gave a nod to Raizo as he was told to stick around. He then looked to Kaen, wondering if he had anything else to add. "Don't worry Kaen, you will have back up when dealing with the Leaf shinobi, I don't plan on letting you confront them alone." He figured Kaen addressing them alone, the team from Leaf may run him over. He'd see this gate meeting and see how things would turn out.

So it was settled, Kaen would be escorting them around the village if it came down to it. Uzi would speak to Raizo while looking into this return letter. If they wanted any help tracking down this trouble maker, he'd be happy to help.

The constant poking from Yukina, directed at Raizo, perturbed him for some reason. Who did she think she was to constantly assault an injured man who clearly was in no shape to withstand a barrage of precise jabs. He growled under his breath upon the final jab Raizo took. But then Raizo said something that literally set Kaen on fire. "Sennin games? Appointing new Sennins? YES!" Flames erupted around him, bright vivid orange flames franticly licked the air around him. He was so pumped for this. Life was a game, Kaen felt he should be the winner. He fully understood that there was more to being a sennin than pure power, something Kaen obviously possessed. But it required a tactical mind, as well as a long-suffering attitude when it came to your subordinates. Thankfully he had some experience in this field with his years spent as Anbu Captain. Leadership was not something he would shy away from.

Realizing he was emitting his Ancient aura he laughed nervously before culling the flames and calming himself so they would recede back inside. "Ahem... My apologies. Got a little too excited there." Placing his fist to his chest he would give a slight bow towards Raizo. He had his orders, it was just a matter of time now. A response would be sent to Leaf, and their arrival would be fully expected and prepared for. It would appear that Kaen would get the opportunity to escort them about the village, and Uziuke had offered to lend his assistance in the matter as well. "Understood sir, I'll await further orders. And you can definetely count me in on your Sennin games. I wouldn't miss it for the world!" His tone was that of excitement and anticipation. Not only for the games, but for Leaf's arrival. He would add one last thing before he left. "If Lady Yukina here continues to bother you, I would be more than happy to address her... behavioral issues." A jest, mostly. Perhaps Kaen was just bored and needed a bear to poke himself. Just so happened he chose Yukina. He chuckled to himself at his own words. Turning to Uziuke he would say his farewells. "Until next time, Rose Petal..." With another playful wink he would turn and exit the room, closing the door behind him. As he exited the tower he took a deep breath, enjoying the evening air. Things were moving in the right direction. Without hesitation Kaen would release his Ancient Aura and proceed down the road, his bright flames lighting his way. No longer would he shy away from what he was, the people of Sunagakure would either respect him, or hate him. Either way they would fall into their rightful place in the end.

The flare-up of the Ancient energy that lay within Kaen would in almost every scenario draw a reaction from Raizo. Whether it was due to his training, his connection to his ancestor Legatus through the rituals of the Ryuzaki, or just something that dwelled within his own physiology, there would be rarely an instance where this outburst from Kaen, or an individual like Kaen, that wouldn't at least cause a sensation to perk up within Raizo. This time, however, it would be different. Maybe it was because his body was constantly circulating chakra to numb the pain or maybe it was the toxin within him itself...or maybe it was just the power and/or proximity of Kaen's energy in relation to him. Either way, there would be a much more pronounced reaction from Raizo to this outburst.

tKtuPfE.jpg

The Ryuzaki blood within him would dance and thrash. Chakra, an energy deep within him he hadn't felt since his Trial of Legatus blood ritual, would intensify and harden upon his skin giving the appearance of tribal, if not flame-like, markings upon his body. His eyes would flicker with an excitable red glow.

"I cannot wait to see you on display, Kaen."

There was no hostility, merely excitement. When he first came to this village he had an opinion of the Ancient race and of those who remained from their interference; the Hybrids. Originally it was prejudice, and while he may still not have fully resolved his true feelings toward the beings, he had learned to be more embracing of those who were caught between the world of Ancient and human. Sousuke had taught him that many never asked for their heritage, never sought such a power, and either were cursed with it or forced through pain to draw on what was lying dormant within them. He was more sympathetic to it all, much more than he ever believed he would have been to those who were machinations of the beings who his ancestor had spent his life-fighting... and devouring.

His appearance would return to normal just as quickly as it had flared up.

"You'd be of more service if you could beat some sense into this one" Yukina would say, gesturing at the Kazekage, to the departing Kaen as she would nod and smile at the man.

"Hahaha, I really like that Kaen guy. Got fun energy about him."

He would then turn his attention to 'Rose Petal'.

"Rose Petal, huh?" he found himself laughing once more.

He has laughed a lot more since coming to Suna.

"Uzi, my friend, before we begin with my little letter writing, I do want to make you aware of something. I don't want there to be secrets between us, I value this friendship."

What started as Raizo merely picking Uzi out of a crowd in his general assembly meeting, had turned into a relationship. He wasn't sure if it was one-sided, he never really slowed down with his own emotions to look and see if Uziuke felt the same about whatever this partnership was between the two of them. It was the same reason things had soured so quickly between him and a member of Uziuke's family. It was also why he was about to say what he was about to say to the white-haired man.

"If the Konoha shinobi do not come in with a grounded lead, I am going to toss them at your brother for the time being to give us a moment to determine the next steps. Chances are they will never find that snake, nor do I believe something like this would end up killing him, but he did say one day I would see a need for an individual like him... 'a monster to do the things I'm not willing to do'."

Pausing for a moment, he would reflect on the day that Akkuma turned down his offer and decided to continue pursuing his own selfish desires. It upset him then, it still upset him now. The reckoning for Akkuma would eventually come, and he hoped it would be by his hands, but strategically it made a lot of sense. Akkuma marketed himself as a bad guy, it is the spotlight he wanted to place on himself.

"I'm sorry for how this might sound... but honestly, the Akkuma he wishes to portray, this monster creature of the shadows ruling in darkness, makes it very easy to see him as either a suspect or at the very least be involved in all of this, but the reality is for now I would just like to use him as a wild goose to keep the Leafies preoccupied. If they never catch their boogyman, then it allows us to take what information we can gather from them and use it for our own purposes to determine the culprit. This brings me to my next item of discussion for you, Uziuke."

Raizo rarely used his full name, usually shortened it to Uzi.

"In the chance, and I truly believe it is a slim chance, that this was committed by a member of our village, someone who has betrayed us, I want you to help me apprehend them."

His expression would grow dour as his tone would lower.

"I alone, however, will dispense with the punishment."

If a member of this village did actually carry out this attack, he cared little for the political fallout of it all. He did care about the act of betrayal, the act of turning against their community, their family, their home. While traditions may have been different within the greater population of Suna and their previous leaders, the Ryuzaki had a simple solution for this sort of crime; death. He would not expect any other member of the village to bare this burden, this would be his mark to take. He would provide them with the "kindest cut"; a death in their homeland and one as painless as possible.

"Uzi... what do you think of this?"

He was worried. Would his plan push away his friend?

As the flames erupted from Kaen on the Sennin games, Uzi looked towards the guy with an eyebrow raised. It wasn't until Raizo brought forth his own flames, traveling along his skin, that Uzi started thinking, why didn't he have his own super cool aura of exciting energy. As the both of them calmed down, the thought whisked itself away. Kaen mentioned that he'd show up for the games. It spiked interest in Uzi, now wondering what abilities this guy held. He had to be more than your average run of the mill shinobi. Yukina's comment only added to Uzi's curiosity. Addressing his leave to 'Rose Petal', Kaen took his leave. "What a character." Uzi said moreso to himself, noting of this guy's reputation.

He turned back to Raizo, taking a chuckle himself as recalling the name. He created it on the spot, and he knew it'd be weird for an ANBU to have such a name, but he liked what it represented to say the least. Upon mentioning breaking secrets, Uzi thought about his truths as a shinobi. 'Maybe it was time to share after all.' The words of his brother left Raizo with made him give a quick laugh and a 'shake my head' moment. Uzi wasn't bothered by Raizo's ideals of Akkuma. He knew his brother could portray a villain sent from the underworld at times. "True words from that Akkuma. He'll do fine if he runs into the Leafies." Uzi knew Akkuma was a tough cookie, he had his ways when it came to those plans of his. He continued on listening, understanding the severity of the situation, considering that there was still a chance someone from the village could have caused the rukus. Uzi nodded, "No problem. If I come across them, I'll make sure I'll bring them back alive. The Leafies would want their fun with the culprit of course, but I'll notify them that this is a situation of our honor and that the criminal will be disciplined by our village as well." Judging from Raizo's tone, the punishment wouldn't be light. Considering what happen, and the look upon his face, Uzi gave his own words. He looked to his hands, tightening one of the gloves that concealed his hands. "I'm sure their assailant will never cause trouble again." He gave a very nonchalant expression, stretching out his hand a bit, returning his eyes to Raizo. He debated for a second on what he was about to do, but he came to a firm decision, deciding not to look back.

"Hmm... Ok Raizo, I see you not only as the Kage of this village, but also as a close friend. So I'll trade a secret for a secret." The ANBU knew that after this, he may be looked at a bit differently by Raizo. "From being accepted here, to running down Unbent in the desert, I believe I'm able to tell you of my plans as a shinobi." Uziuke paused, now pulling his mask off from the top of his head. He wouldn't assume his ANBU identity for this one, he'd present himself as Uziuke, the Mist native that had a lot on his mind. He'd only spoken of this truth to a couple of people, Akkuma happening to be one. His gaze was on the mask as he continued on.

"Truth be told Raizo, I'd like to see the resurrection of my home village." Uzi figured it sounded like a mountain of trouble, but he went on. His eyes now shifted to Raizo and Yukina. "If not that, I'm at least looking to see what caused it to freeze over. That wasn't your typical weather for Kirigakire." Uzi wondered what could cause such a storm. "Regardless, I know I need the aid of this village, and the others, if I want to get anywhere to starting it's rebuilding." It was a lot to ask. He didn't know how this would effect their friendship, but he continued on.

"Now Raizo, I don't expect you to just hop up and help me go out there, as I don't even know how to access this situation as of yet, but I'm asking for your help. And not as the village official, but as a friend willing to help me work out a trouble that's been pestering me for quite some time now. He hoped that he didn't sound like some kind of lunatic going out on a suicide mission.

"If you want to decline the offer, I understand." Uzi paused, giving Raizo a second to think about it, "But I don't plan on giving up." His expression read that he was serious about such a feat.

"Also, I want to let you know, that it's been a dream to go back and live in The Water Country. But after being accepted here, by that..." Uziuke thought back to that one Kage's name. They used to talk about him all the time around the village. He recalled Raizo and Kaen saying a rather familiar name earlier, and then it clicked. He snapped his fingers, returning his eyes back to the figures in front of him. "Sousuke guy, and living here for a while, I found this place to be my true home. So while I'm not rebuilding that village for my own personal desires, I'd love to see Kirigakire as it once was again. Having students running along testing their might, bringing back those fun snow days where everyone brushed up on their skills with a snowball fight. Just relaxing on the beach with friends." The memories were still vivid and would be something he cherished for a lifetime. "I also believe doing something like this could change Akkuma's ways. Of course he portrays himself as the bad guy, but I've seen other sides of him. He believes in me, and I want him to be able to return to his home, and grow out of this bad boy phase. I don't know if that's why he's acting the way he is, but I'm looking to see the other side of him." Uzi wasn't too sure about the last bit either, but if that didn't change Akkuma, he didn't know what would.

"And though it may not happen, if it does, we will always have a treaty with the Mist Village, if not, that we already have one." Uziuke didn't know if he could speak for the entire village or not, but his words were spot on serious. "Also as I said, the rebuilding wouldn't change my position on staying in Suna." After building such trust with Suna, he couldn't imagine just up and leaving.

Fully listening to the words of Uziuke, he would go through a wave of emotions himself. First, Uzi not showing any hostility towards his plan to use Akkuma, his own brother, as a potential scapegoat for the incident caused him to experience a wave of relief. It also strengthened his resolve to follow through with that very plan. He was upset with Akkuma, he was pissed with Akkuma, and he felt betrayed by Akkuma, but a small part of him still held out hope that the idiot would wake up and join the village and a true family, and not whatever darkness he chose to wallow in for his own personal penance. So in the biggest picture, he did not wish to see Akkuma die, but he also felt no issue with letting him become a target for the fury of those from Konoha.

The next wave of emotions would be a sympathetic tone. He had never lost his homeland, but he could understand the pain, along with other feelings, of losing his home, his clan. He also understood the lengths he would go to get it back if it were still a possibility. This sympathy would also give way to a moment of anxiety, of fear. Would approving Uzi to take on this quest be him leading his friend out of the village and into a foreign land? How could he balance the possibility of losing his friend by supporting his wish with the possibility of losing his friend because he chose to oppose his wish?

Luckily it seemed that his anxiousness would not be necessary, as it seemed Uzi was still content remaining part of the village, even if his home was reestablished. Even if his homeland returned, Uzi stated it would not change his position of remaining with the village. Part of him did not fully believe this was the honest truth. Part of him could not justify Uzi honoring those words if he did see the images of his village returned back to life. He, however, would not express that small dissension within him. Instead, he would choose to believe his friend.

"Of course, Uzi. I would never attempt to stand before you and such a personal quest. Nor would I think about not supporting you, in whatever way you needed, in those efforts."

Hopping up on top of his desk he would begin to flex and pose.

"I am a pretty talented fire chakra user... so testing my mettle against unbeatable ice seems like the perfect situation!"

He would laugh as his body would relax and he would hop back off his desk. Turning to Uzi, there would be a small droplet of blood coming from his left nostril and from the tear duct of his right eye. He would not be aware of either of these things as he would continue to smile a large smile at Uzi.

"Alright, let's get this letter knocked out! Uzi, you don't mind sending it off for me? I mean, delegating is the role of the Kage after all!" he would say with his chest puffed out.

"That's his way of saying he doesn't know how to send a messenger bird."

Uzi nodded after hearing that he had Raizo's sorry. He wouldn't head out and begin on that escapade anytime soon however. There were free in Suna that needed taking care of. Watching him glued on the desk and talk about his for abilities, Uzi began to think back to the meeting that Raizo hosted in the war room. 'I doubt that anything could hold him back.' Uzi chuckled, Raizo was a great friend indeed.

It took everything Uzi had to concentrate on Raizo's next few words. Yukina giving him a bit of clarity as she explained his situation. Instead, he noticed the blood that was now making is way from the Kage's eyes and nose. "I can send the letter off, no problem, but uhh... You have some blood coming from your nose... and your eye." Uzi pointed a finger at Raizo, notifying him of his injury.

"Hey, what happened back in the desert that has you full of injuries and poison? It may not be something that you'd want to remember, but it seems something severe." Uzi's usually cheerful mood was none present during this meeting. Mostly because of the business with Konoha and Raizo's injuries. He was still a kid at heart as well, but right now, it was tough to show the emotions that lay dormant within him. He could only wonder what that people liquid was that was oozing from his chest. He assumed it was some type of poison that came from an Unbent attack.

Uzi would ask about his injuries from the desert and then would alert him to the fact that he was bleeding from not only his nose but also his eye. Hurridly he would wipe the blood away from his face before returning back to his large smile.

"It's nothing, just a strange humanoid creature, that could use human language, I decapitated and happened to have a little baby version of it hidden within it, and that little thing popped out of the neck wound of the parent creature and bit me. Just a pretty run-of-the-mill issue!"

Once more a chuckle would ring out as it was clear that either the Kazekage was truly fine or was hellbent on giving that impression despite it all.

Stubborn ass...

"We don't know what the creature was and what from its bite has afflicted him. Thankfully you all brought back the child that had bit him so we could study it, but right now the medical-nin are completely stumped by not only the creature itself but the poison or virus or bacteria that is causing his current condition."

His expression would turn annoyed as Yukina began to talk.

"You have no business discussing my medical history, Yu. I think there is probably a law somewhere that would allow me to through you into Obsidian Palace for such actions... so shut it."

The two would begin to beam death glares at one another before he, Raizo, would break away from the object of his frustration and return it to Uzi.

"It really isn't a big deal, no need to worry. Just something my body isn't used to so it is taking just a little extra time to work it out."

Raizo's expression would continue to exude confidence, while from behind him would be a much different story from Yukina. She seemed more concerned than the Kazekage.

"Either way, it will be fine, it will work itself out, but what about the whole Sennin Games thing, huh? You gonna participate, Uzi???"

The response letter may never get made...

Yukina and Raizo's relationship seemed to be one of those complicated ones. They acted as lovers, yet argued like a long time couple, but showed their compassion for one another through their jokes. It was odd, yet satisfying to watch. Uzi could trust Yukina with Raizo. He sure it wasn't a necessity to worry, but he'd check up on the Kage every so often.

"I don't know Raizo, I'm conflicted on the matter at the moment." Uzi looked forward to the games, but whether he'd participate was lingering on his mind. He'd no doubt be thinking of the games for the rest of the night. "I'm not originally from here, so I don't think it's fair for me to intrude and take away the opportunity from the ones that are from here." It was the only objection the Mist shinobi had when thinking of the matter. "But then again, it's not so much about the title, but the duties that a Sennin would carry out. Becoming a Sennin has crossed my mind before, but I hadn't thought of taking that path. Maybe this would prove a great opportunity for myself to give my knowledge as a shinobi to the benefit of this village. I'm sure I can take on the responsibilities that come with the job, and considering I know you, I won't have much trouble when it comes to making tough decisions that would effect the village." During his travels he learned a lot of diplomacy, and knew he could use that wisdom to grace such a title.

Begining to feel as though he were talking in riddles, Uzi looked to Raizo. "Well, I guess that is a yes, I'll be attending and participating. But what do you look for from a Sennin Raizo?" Moreso interested in what Raizo expected from the position, Uzi listened intuitively.

Listening to Uzi, he would come to realize something. Did others view him in a similar light? Should he, as someone not born in Sunagakure no Sato, even hold the title of Kage for the village? Surely others had questioned this, and he vaguely remembered providing some response of it when talking to Sousuke about his initial Kageship. Still, he never really dwelled on the whole notion. He saw it in the vacuum of the previous Kage missing, and he believed he was worthy of taking on the title. Surely there needed to be more to it than that, but did not being born in Suna really carry with it such a black mark.

It all left a sour taste in his mouth. He would correct such a belief in his announcement. He would ensure that all those within Wind Country felt comfortable that they too could be the next Sennin if they believed themselves worth enough. Thankfully, Uzi would end on the note that he would participate in the overall event.

"First, Uzi. One of the previous generation of Sennin was named Senju Kazuki. He was a man not born in Suna or even within this very country. Heck, I am in some regards could be considered an outsider... so I don't think you being an adopted son of Suna makes you any lesser than someone born in the village."

He would nod with stern confidence.

"Secondly... hmmm, I'm not sure I have put a wealth of thought into that question yet..."

Mental note... give myself time to figure out all the finer details before actually trying the Sennin Games. Maybe a half a year... no, too long. Just shy of that should work...

"I would say loyalty to the people of this village and country... hmmm, probably wouldn't hurt to be skilled in shinobi arts.... and selfishly I would be looking for interesting people. I don't want to surround myself with a bunch of boring fuddy-duddies."

Once more, the Kage would find himself laughing at his own comment. Maybe he laughed a little too much nowadays?

"Raizo... the response to Konoha..."

Yukina was starting to become a real buzzkill lately...
