Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Hoshikata stands before the elevator, his eyes raking up and down the construct as he waits for someone, anyone really, to come and let him know he can leave. He could just break out like he did in Cloud, but he was trying not to piss off more of the villages than he had to at this time and place. So he stood patiently, his staff tapping a beat on the ground underfoot.

Uri was at the gates at about the same time of day he always was. Gathered in his arms were a few boxes of made of pink cardboard, packed tight with sweet confections. Over his shoulder was a bad littered with numerous other things, and a couple of thermos' filled with scalding hot liquids. It wasn't too odd for him to visit the gate guards and bring them things. Today he wasn't alone however, awaiting at the lift was another face he didn't know. Stepping onto the lift, he pinged his headset and the lift came to life beneath their feet.

"Doughnut for the road?"<i></i> He asked, flipping open one of the boxes and offering one to the stranger, "A little sugar is good for ya out in the heat."<i></i>

”No thank you. I'm quite full.” He didn't mention that the heat didn't bother him, he couldn't feel it. Instead, those golden eyes turn to Uri as the Seer smiles at the man. ”Are you one of the people here to let visitors go? I'm quite in a hurry.”

Uri raised an eyebrow to the odd man as he closed the box, shuffling a bit to redistribute some of the weight dragging down on his body, "It's not my current posting, but I do have the authority. I was just going to see the gate guards anyway. Should be able to get you through without too much fuss."<i></i> Fumbling more with the stacked boxes, he uses his chin to clamp down the pile and hold them in place. A free hand now, he extends it over the unknown man, "Kuroda Uri, nice to meet you. Once we get to the top, I'll make sure they get ya rolling, and out before you know it."<i></i>

He reaches out with his own free hand to shake Uri's, Hoshikata's handshake a firm grasp. ”Isaki Hoshikata, second Mizukage. A pleasure to make your acquaintance.” His golden eyes, with the black hourglasses for pupils, takes in Uri as he rides up the trip with him. ”So, how often do you get visitors here?”

The handshake of a politician, but one of a strong leader as well. This man did not doubt himself in anyway, and it showed in his demeanor, "Not too often. A lot of people will often go to Soon's Haven over seeking out our village due to the maelstrom. We make runs between here and there from time to time and bring people back with us. Otherwise, we're a pretty quiet village."<i></i> They were nearing the top and Uri remembered his exact meeting with Shuu at the gates not all that long ago.

"The Mizukage, eh? We've gotten a few refugees from Kiri, one of them was a close friend of mine. I'm sorry to hear about your village. Do you have any intention of trying to reclaim it?"<i></i>

”Hard to reclaim a village covered by a solid foot of ice. And I'm glad to hear of your friend. What's their name? I might know them.” He looks up to the opening overhead and thinks about how good a defense this village had going for it. It was a good thing he came in peacefully.

The irony of their village was that it was both a gift and a curse. Living in a cave was no way to flourish and it constantly bothered Uri. Some day, someone would threaten to bring the cave down around them and drown them all in diamond sands. That was a day he hoped to never see. The lift jerked in a stop and Uri stepped off, waving at one of the guards that was waiting upon their arrival, "Shuu-chan. She and a few others arrived some time ago and are being tended to in our medical facilities."<i></i>

A guard arrived to relieve Uri of his burden and he had a brief exchange before nodding in confirmation.

"Okay, I can let you out. The storm is a bit rough right now, so I suggest using some chakra to displace the sands. If you're truly a Kage, then getting through the maelstrom shouldn't be too hard. Follow me."<i></i>

Suna's gates were a massive and ancient mechanism of great engineering. Opening them not only took some time, but threatened the village by opening them up for the maelstrom to flow in. In his time working at the gates, Uri had developed his own method for helping people in and out without the need of the enormous slabs of steel to move, "A fun magic trick."<i></i> They were now standing near the gate, Uri taking a moment to peel away his gloves. If Hoshikata was observant enough, he would see some strange markings branded into his skin. Hands pressed up against the metal, he feigned curling his fingers as if grabbing onto a bed sheet and yanked down hard. While normally it would have been harmless miming, a slab within one of the gates moved in kind, creating a man-sized hole in the gate for Hoshikata to pass through. Diamond sand whipped inward, a warning of the bad weather beyond the portal, "Safe travels, Kata-kun. Perhaps we'll cross paths again in the future."<i></i>

A sweeping hand gesture towards the hole, he bowed slightly giving a more formal gesture for him to exit on.

Shuu. The name run in Hoshikata's head like a gong. His eyes harden slightly at her name, turning to look at Uri once more. ”Shuu? The former Medical Sennin?” The one who had passed over him for that woman? The sole reason he never got to take over the branch he damn well deserved? The final straw on the camel's back that kept him from attaining sennin? Surely not the same, and yet who else had that name?

”I think I can handle the storm” He smiles again, waving a farewell and steps through the opening the man had made. He didn't take much note of the trick, or the brands. His mind was on Shuu, apparently holed up in Sand.

Quickly, Uri sealed the gate back up and he sauntered off to the guard's quarters to lose some more money in a game of cards. Little interactions like that meant changing someone's fate. Whose was just altered had yet to be seen. Hopefully whoever it was, it was a positive change. They would find the light again one day, or be consumed by the darkness they insisted on staying in.
