Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

One of the first skills a Yamanaka learns is the ability to communicate with others telepathically by sharing thoughts. Not limited to words, the Yamanaka may communicate through sharing pictures, memories, and even learn to share sensory input between themselves and others. As both an Anbu and a member of the Miroku clan she has spent much research on the use and effects of the Sensory Link ability. Hakuren uses this ability on a daily basis to mitigate her blindness by linking to her pets and have them stream live sensory input into her. She also gives commands through the same method using moving pictures to convey a command. Hakuren found such communication with her pets far more effect than basic verbal communication. This could also be done with humans. She found this ability to be quite useful, however there were some side effects that Hakuren was not immediately aware of.

Today she was going to create an experiment to test a theory that she had. So far her research was linking subjects together sharing their thoughts, memories and sensory input while each member of the network was alert and awake. She believes if she could connect with a sleeping individual or individuals, she could create a type of shared dream. As the host she would have control over such dreams. It is her hopes that she could use this ability to create a sort of simulation, an artificially created environment for a person to interact in.

The experiment would be held in the hospital so that vitals could be monitored easily. Hakuren was not sure of the full effects of such an event. It was unclear how injury in a simulation would transilate to the physical body if it does at all. To get volunteers she makes an official mission request. The mission request would state that the individual(s) would allow themselves to be subjugated to a test dealing with the mind. The request also mention the test would be at hospital so that in the event things go awry, safety will be guaranteed.

Hakuren was a little doubtful that she would get any volunteers since it did sound a little risky. She was half tempted to classify this a class to attract student but was after of repercussions from the academy. She was sure to use this method in her teachings if things go well. Hakuren sits in a room 175, as described in the mission request, to see if anybody comes in. The room had three bed. If more than three people come, which she highly doubts will happen, she will need to inform anybody after the third person that the request has been filled.

Although she had been taught not to leave the house alone, she was a restless person - or perhaps it was still more fitting to call her an animal. Although her teacher was a good person from heart, they had a few bad habits, like loving to sleep in long on days they had taken off aswell as enjoying some of the pleasures of life, like drinking sake and smoking. The last one which Nana hated, it was stinky and so she always stayed away when he decided to smoke. This time she didn't avod him for smoking though, he just slept long and she couldn't wait for anything to happen any longer. So she let him sleep and bolted out the door. By now she had been wandering around town for a few hours. First she had stopped by at "Sho and Yoh's", a restaurant her tutor liked, which was led by a pair of brothers. They knew of her and her circumstances and were friends with with her mentor, so she was able to get a first breakfast from them, although they had doubts she was allowed to walk around alone, they didn't know better and let her go after she was done, writing the cost on their friends bill. Her journey through Suna was not a short one and certainly wasn't a fast one, as now that she was left alone, she stopped at most every unfamiliar sound to investigate. Sometimes she just looked at the window of a shop and would stare at it in awe, mostly it was for fancy colors or costumes. Spotting a stand seling fruits, she'd grab one and bolt off before anyone could stop her as yeling at her was enough to scare her away, she wasn't used to that sort of treatment as she usually did as she was told. With noone to guide her though, she could do as she was pleased without knowing any better about right or wrong.

Eventualy she came to halt at a large building she didn't much remember, although she had been here before to get looked over and treated when she arrived, she pushed the memories about this place aside as they weren't that pleasent to her. Since quite a few other people entered and left it frequently, she decided to enter it herself. She might have usually not gotten any looks, even with her animalistic features, but there was still that before she had left home, she hadn't properly dressed, nor washed her face or combed her hair. None of those were things she was used to do alone or particularly liked doing, so her blue hair reaching down to her hips was a wild mane standing out to every side and the pajama she wore was half opened and not sitting on her shoulders properly. What did she care though, embaressement wasn't something she was able to feel and clothes were constricting anyways. She ignored most of the looks as nobody seemed to really want to approach her. She just made her way up to the first floor in her exploring and came to a halt as she spotted a smalll wagon that was carrying food. Ofcourse she couldn't know those plates were for patients as her brain was more animal then human, so she grabbed about three or four slices of meat from there and went towards a closed room door. She was lucky the nurse distributing the food was at the time busy inside a nearby room, helping an old patient cut thier meat. So now Nana was walking into room 175 without a care in the world. She didn't immediately notice that another person would be present and so sat down on one of the beds, immedietely dirtying it with the paws she had for feet. She additionally dropped the meat into the white sheets so she could eat it one by one before going back on her way. Should any noise happen, she would definetely stop eating and look up.

It seems like Hakuren got her first volunteer so to speak. Do to the animalistic nature the person seems to portray she would gather that she had come here do to pure happenstance, but she could be wrong. Normally she would address the girl and have her move on, but she would rather not let such a stroke of fortune pass her by. Hakuren is not as well practiced with linking with humans as she is linking with animals. This individual seems to be an entity that occupies a place somewhere in between these two groups. This girl was a perfect stepping stone from animal experimentation to human testing.

“Thank you for volunteering. I shall begin at once.” She then casts a temple of nirvana on the wild individual. Hakuren would guess someone of her nature would have a bit of a weak willpower and would fall asleep from the genjutsu quite quickly. Should the girl fall asleep, Hakuren would then connect her conscious mind to Nana’s unconscious one. Using her sensory link Hakuren would stream a memory into the girl. Memory by its very nature is malleable and capable of being altered. As one may notice memory over time become fuzzy with some key points perfectly clear, but the details leading up to such points murky at best. Within this experiment Nana will relive someone else's memory in an interactive way. Some parts of the memory were clear and will happen, but most of the minor details of the memory will need to be filled in by Nana. However this does not give Nana complete free will for if she strays too much from what the original person has done, the memory will desynchronize and the link will break.

The memory she was reliving was that of an old shinobi. This was the shinobi’s memory of her genin exam. Hakuren was a bit glad that her exam was not like this, but was sure this person here could handle it. Assuming all of this worked, Nana would find herself in the middle of the desert with nothing but sand for miles. This exam tested a student’s ability to survive in the harsh lands that surrounded the village and would be granted geninhood upon finding the village. Hakuren with her chronic anemia would never be able to pull off this feet, but this one seems capable enough.

Eating her meat as careless as she was, she left some more stains on the sheet before her ears began to twitch in the direction of which Hakurens voice came from. She stared at the strange woman for a moment as if teasting her. She smelled nice and didn't seem thratening to the girl. As she didn't understand the older woman, she picked up a slice of meat from the bed and stretched her paw out with said meat. Big anticipation was on her face as she was ready to share 'her' meal with the woman. Sharing was something she was good at from her days living in an actual wolf pack. She thought the woman might have come here for the meat. The only good thing about all this was probably that she was showing acceptance of humans other then her teacher but probably only because she didn't have any clue of what was going to happen next.

Less then being weak willed, she didn't even realize she was put in a genjutsu and thought her feeling tired was due to having eaten too much. She crawled around on the bed before finding a comfortable position to lie in and curling up. Letting out a small yawned, "Awoo...." she fell asleep and went off into dream land. In her dream she found herself in a vast dessert, sand as far as the eye could see and Nana in the midst of it. Though she didn't really understand why she was in the dessert again she sloly started moving forward. The heat didn't quite suit her and she ripped her pajamas off her body. Stretching in a pair of childish looking underwear she looked far happier and went right from stretching to suddenly starting to run in a straight line as if someone was chasing her. She didn't run away though, she actually just quite liked running about, and boy was she fast. She actually ran a few miles like this until she stopped and laid down into the sand looking like a dieing dog. Right now her conciousness wasn't much for altering her surroundings, except even in her dreams she thought of food and so she rolled on her belly as she could feel something shuffling through the sand close to her - another of her kyoujouran perks - and watched a lizard trying to bury itsef in the sand. Nana was faster and jumped onto the winding lizard, grabbing it with her paws and lifting it. As if she had hit a jackpot a big smile spread on her face and she bit into the poor living creature, tearing its sides apart with her sharp teeth. She truly was a simple thing, although fresh blood running down the sides of her mouth and chin made her look a little psychotic.

Hakuren could not help but smile as she watches her little test subject plays around in the artificial world she created. It appears stage one of the experiment is a success. True that animals seem to be fooled into believing this was a real environment, but she was not sure about human. She was especially aware of its questionable effectiveness if the subject had fore knowledge they do this in a dream. For this reason the details for the experiment was not given in the mission request, which was a double edge sword. It might make it more effective but also makes it less likely to get volunteers. She was glad to see that this girl came to the room whether it was for the mission or not.

As the little girl slumbers Hakuren’s wolf jumps onto the bed and begins eating the food Nana had brought? Hakuren brought this male wolf for a number of reasons. First off, Hakuren uses this ability on a daily basis to mitigate her blindness by linking to her pets and have them stream live sensory input into her. So she needed a pet to be her eyes to get to the hospital. Second the memberies she was inhabiting were that of a Yamanaka, so the wolf would be joining her shortly. Third she would like to do this test subject participating in the memory and she had her doubts that she was going to get more than one, if she even got one. Lastly Hakuren believe the Inuzuka bloodline could be attained through methods other than heredity. Hakuren believes that If one is sensory linked with a canine for an exorbitant amount of time, they would form a bond equal to that as a Inuzuka. Of coarse Hakuren was not going to do the full test of that experiment on Nana. No Hakuren just wanted to see if there was any signs of hope in a small period of time.

Putting the canine to sleep the same way she did Nana, Hakuren forms a sensory link with him. Soon the canine would appear in Nana’s dream coming over a large sand dune. Hakuren made the link as such that Nana would be able to sense his presence within the dream.

Her silent breathing wasn't interrupted as 'her' food got stolen by an - to her - unwelcome guest. In fact she would have contested the meat if she had been aware of what was going on around her, but so far nothing had happened to free her from the genjutsu or wake her up so her deep slumber continued. In her artificially created dream the small girl was still sitting in the same spot, still dining on raw lizard meat. The poor thing was dead by now and it was no question that she was going to eat everything of it. Her teeth were top class and such small bones were ground to dust and even smaller pieces easily. The canine-featured girl soon stood up and shook her behind and tail to get rid of the sand before looking around. There was still only sand in sight and she wasn't quite sure where to go from here as there was nothing she could smell or hear that gave her enough of a hint on directions. Though suddenly a new smell appeared. It was nothing she specifically knew, but it smelled familiar. Ofcourse it would, she had spent most of her life living with Wolves and in the nature, she would be able to tell this sort of thing. Though there were other smells mixed in, probably from living with humans, she made out the wolf's position and turned towards it. She could make out it was a male, but didn't know if it was a pack leader or not, or possibly a stray wolf? But if it was owned by humans then someone should be close to it. She sat down, her legs crossed and paws inbetween them. Slightly arched forward she watched the wolf approach. Unnecessarrily making her presence known, she let out a quite cute howl and waited on a reaction on parts of the stranger, afterall there was no telling if this was going to be peaceful or not. Either way, she'd been bit quite a lot of times already and she didn't feel most anymore with how strong her skin was.

The wolf that joined her in the dream was a local animal referred to as a sand wolf. While many wild dogs can be found in Wind Country's arid wildlands, the Sand Wolf is by far the most aggressive. Possessing a cunning intelligence, the Wolves have thought to have thrived in part thanks to humanity's impact upon the Wind's ecology; all wild dogs have been seen roaming the streets of populous villages, but only Wolves have been known to trespass upon human property to scavenge the food that they seek. This is highly unusual, as they either seem to lack a strict territory, or are so uncaring of that which we have established as to steal from homes and stores at night, provided entrance. They are also considerably more dangerous than the average wild dog; both larger and leaner, they can grow to just under three feet tall while standing on all fours and about 100 pounds, they have been known to attack humans without provocation; this is thought to be the result of the above over-familiarity progressing into the Wolves seeing humans as prey, rather than threat. These sandy-colored lupines have also been known to exist singularly; that is, without a pack.

This wolf was fully grown and was a little bit of a challenge for Hakuren to train. After a few years Hakuren had him tamed and sometimes rides him as a mount. The wolf looks down from his sand dune and gives a howl in response to her own. He approaches her in a non-threatening manner. If she let him he would sniff at her curiously, If she did not he will back off and quite lay down so she could approach him on her terms. This wolf was not in the mood for fighting for dominants and will submit to her commands.

The curious wolf approaching her was likewise watched by the bluehaired girl herself. Although she could make out different scents from it, nothing the animal gave off seemed to be threatening in the slightest, he rather seemed to lack any interest in a conflict at all. Was it a smart animal? Did he see Nana as strong? Or was he weak? He didn't seem to be hurt atleast, but maybe he had been wandering the desert and was exhausted? Nana could only make simple judgements with her limited intelligence and being unaware that she was in a genjutsu. She wiped the remaining already drying blood around her mouth away and stood up after the wolf seemed to be done with inspecting her. She wasn't sure if the wolf wanted to stay with her or what it had in mind, but she started walking throuh the desert again, now in a regular walking speed as she did feel the heat of the sun on her body and she would need the energy even with her being a bundle of energy. She still couldn't smell anything familiar so she had to stay content with passing a few dead plants and some stone fragments that would occasionally provide a shadowy spot. By now her tongue was hanging out of her mouth and she grew desperate for some water, but inbetwen dunes there was nothing to make out.
