Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Nighttime was the best time for a lesson like this, especially since his alter ego usually worked at night when most shinobi should be resting. By day Maru lived in the spotlight, being the center of people's attention with the persona of a immature man child. But by night, that was when Maru usually switched to his cold mentality of being a professional bounty hunter/ hired thief. The life of a mercenary is dangerous, ruthless, and pretty badass, and now he would have someone along for the ride. There was a man who lived on the outskirts of this city who he was assigned to kill or capture for a reward, he was considered a traitor to his village so his clients (aka his own village) doesn't care what Maru does with him so long as he bring him in for the reward dead or alive. Although Maru had a lot to gain, the man was consider a D rank threat.. Hell he might've even retired so this didn't pose much of a challenge to Maru. So the mercenary decided to make things intersting by turning this job into a lesson for any lucky academy student willing to join him. In the day he left a little note on a bulletin board for any would be academy students, which read;
Hiya!

This is Dokuso Maru's never before seen tutoring, students would be taking a mission like course with the famous Maru to get hands on experience with dealing with criminals. Activities will involve: Stealth, interrogation, intimation tactics, fighting (if necessary), kindly returning stolen goods*, and YOU GET PAID.

You will see Maru within an alley within Kurosawa Ciry, you may not see Maru right away but he'll see you.

*Stolen goods will be given to Maru so assure their safe returned.

He wondered if any students would come to him, after all he did have something plan and it would get whoever this students was to see some action. Probably the only action they would see in a while, that and the chance to tutor with a rogue was something rare. Hopefully they would take this chance because he knew he would've if a mercenary offered him a lesson at their age. Maru was wearing what he usually wears when he is doing a job as most thieves would call it. This body was dressed in all black, a black trench coat, dress shirt, ninja pants, and boots. He wore red gloves, with a black and white mask on similar to the mask you'll find in an English ballroom party. A crop of short and messy black hair hung down to the crooks neck, with a smug smile on his face he was crouched to avoid being seen looking down at the alley like a hawk searching for its prey as he looked around for his students or student. The man that him and this student are going to be hunting would be getting home around 12. He would probably eat, get a few hours of reading in, then sleep… but tonight.. His plans are about to change..

“Well this should be interesting.” he said to himself as he overlooked the alleyway.

Re: Lock The Doors! Close The Blinds [Tutoring Topic]

Maikeru had decided to take a trip to tea country, after all, it was a rare circumstance where a shinobi in the academy was allowed permission to leave the village. It wasn't something that happened often, so he decided it best to take advantage of it while he could. The country side was beautiful, and he enjoyed every sight on his journey, enjoying the deep beauty of the region. He would have to make a note to return here at some point, if for nothing else than a sight seeing trip.

"Tsubaki would have loved this.." He muttered to himself, as he came upon the city of Kurosawa.

The city itself seemed pretty standard to him, not as spectacular as Konoha, but not many places were after all. He spent a good portion of the day using spare yen he had to enjoy the local delicacies, even deciding to stop at a tea shop. This wasn't something he did often, but, when the country is literally named after something.. it's probably best to at least give it the old college try. He got a few odd looks from the patronage, and even a few longing gazes from girls his own age. This was something he was used to, after all, the Uchiha were still on the climb back it seemed. Seeing someone who wore the symbol of the clan so openly must have been a strange sight.

It wasn't until he saw the notice board that his day got.. weird. A tutor? That was an interesting proposal. Normally, mercenary work was something he was opposed to. He believed strongly in the village system. However, it was a rare opportunity to learn things from someone outside the village. A chance to learn things no other academy student would have the ability to learn, and that idea enticed him greatly. Plus, there was also the payment mentioned at the end.

He took a cursory look down at his wallet, and noticed how light it was compared to when he had started. With a sheepish grin at his irresponsibility with his money, he removed the notice from the board. Best not to give someone else a chance to take this opportunity before he could. With a sigh he stuffed it into his back pocket, and headed towards the destination that the flier had noted.

When he got there, he was confused to say the least. To him the alleyway looked empty, completely devoid of any life. He stood awkwardly a moment, before looking to the flier he had taken.

"Is.. this the right place?" He said aloud to himself.

Maru waited.. And not soon after he saw that there was a student that actually came, he kept himself from chucking as he saw the boy look around to only find an empty alley. Unaware that Maru was just above his head, watching him. He decided to not mess with the kid for too long because he really needed to capture this guy, so as soon as the boy spoke Maru actually replied to him. Yeah, you're in the right place! And right on time too.” He called from about before he kept down into the looming shadows of the dirty alley, landing about a couple meters away from the boy. There weren't any window that overlooked this alley, nor were there anyone who came around here frequently out of the fear of being mugged or worse. But the masked wearing mercenary showed no signs of wanting to hurt the academy student, but his appearance was anything but friendly.

“I'm guessing that you are an academy student, probably an E Rank? D rank student, right?” He asked, bringing his gloved hand to his chin wondering if the kid has ever been into a fight before. He shrugged then pulled out a single piece of paper from his coat. “Well kid today's your lucky day because you are now considered a Jr Mercenary. And no not like a rogue ninja mercenary that goes around killing for no reason, but the kind who makes money getting rid of the people the village doesn't want to deal with. A Bounty Hunter as to put it in better terms..” He moved closer handing the young boy the paper. “Here's the deal, there is a spy lurking around snitching all about the village secrets all around. Things from troop movement to blind spots and even the abilities and names of some of the ANBU.. No one likes a snitch and quite frankly his life is worth 22,000 yen.” If the boy would check out the wanted poster of the snitch as Maru would called him, but let this man tell it he's a spy. The poster would read;
NYjwF5i.jpg

Maru adjusted his red gloves, although fighting wouldn't be the smartest idea for this guy since he wasn't a real threat, he did trick ANBU with genjustu which could be a problem if the kid would get caught. Luckily he had the ability to cancel genjustu so the kid should be fine. But he'll warn him for safe keeping. “Oh.. Watch out for genjustu. The guy prefers to bind or knock out his opponents so he could slip away, but he shouldn't be much of a problem because he is a pretty old ninja. I'm sure even a academy student like YOU could do some damage to him. The goal for you is to apply whatever you know into a real world scenario where anything can happen.” The mercenary gave a confident thumbs up, before turning his back to begin walking deeper into the alley. This student was about to step into Maru's world, a world where rules go out the window and where villages fight evil with evil. Now class is in session kid. Let's go get this money.“

Re: Lock The Doors! Close The Blinds [Tutoring Topic]

Maikeru took a defensive stance as the man approached out of seemingly nowhere. He took a step back, putting his weight on his rear foot, as he brought his hands in front of him in a fighting stance. His black, onyx eyes seemed to brighten, as a single tomoe spun into place in the upper left corner of each eye. It didn't take much to realize this man was in a weight class above Maikeru's, but, maybe the Sharingan was just enough to intimidate him, or to unbalance him long enough for Maikeru to make an escape.

When the man actually spoke, however, it caused Maikeru to drop is guard.. slightly. Apparently this was the man who had posted those fliers, the tutor. What he was saying seemed to be on the level, but, he still got a bad vibe from the masked man. After all, how much can you really trust someone who didn't show their face when meeting someone for the first time. With a bit of trepidation, Maikeru did indeed check out the wanted poster. It seemed on the up and up, like it really came from the village.

"This man.." He started, letting the Sharingan fade from his eyes as he read. "He's selling secrets to the enemies of the leaf? Well, that's quite unforgivable. There's Uchiha in the Anbu, and I have a strong desire to protect them if I'm able.."

Still, this was assassination. Village sanctioned or not, was taking a life the right solution in this situation. With a grimace, Maikeru nervously rubbed the back of his head, further messing his locks of dark raven hair. He supposed, if it came from the upper echelons of the village, it was an idea at least worth entertaining the notion. With a final sigh, he placed the wanted poster into the same pocket as the flier he had picked up earlier, and extended a hand towards Maru.

"I'm Uchiha Maikeru, and I would be honored to be tutored by you, Sensei. How should we begin?"

He allowed his disciple to process the information that he was given, a man making profit from selling secrets of the villages to enemies was a pretty big deal.. Especially since there were relatives in their, if the intelligence he was going to leak would to the wrong people… it won't be pretty. “That's right.. “ Maru began. “He's making money for snitching on the wrong people, if he just so happens to leak this information to say.. To enemy villages, lots of people would end up dead for a couple thousand yen.” Although to Maru it was a simple job, he might as well get the young Uchiha fired up. After all, Gin was putting his people in jeopardy. Maru turned around to meet the young students gaze, he extended his hand to shake the hand of the young Uchiha to shake his hand. “Like you're spirit. Just follow me and I'll tell you the plan when we get there.” Maru said, then he turned and began to run. “Better keep up.” He exclaimed, not going too fast so the boy could catch up…

…..

Once they arrived at their destination, it was a normal looking home out on the countryside of tea country, there seemed to be activity within the house since the lights were on, but however there were two shinobi outside of the man's home… Sound ninja who are supposed to keep people safe for a price, so it wasn't hard to hire a bodyguard here as long as you got the money to pay for their services. One sound shinobi looked very muscular, would be an obvious especially if he was agile. The other was a scrawny looking man, who wouldn't be much of a problem if he wasn't armed. Maru kept him and his student hidden behind a tree, looking at the boy he talked low to keep from alerting the guard. “Okay.. Here's the deal. I'll take care of the bodyguards, while I'm dealing with the guards you sneak around the back and break in to keep him from leaving. I don't care what you do as long as you keep him with you..” He went into his pocket to pull out a replica of the mask he was wearing and handed it to the boy. “Just in case the sound ninja’s come we don't want them seeing your face…– Oh. And you need one these.” He went into the other side of his coat to pull out a long barrel revolver to hand it to the boy. “Guns are a pretty effective for making people stay out, its smaller than a sword but it can kill a man from 2200 meters away… I mean, you don't see people going around pointing a kunai saying ‘Give Me your Wallet.’” he shrugged. If or when he would take the items Maru would tell him to move towards the back.

Within the house;
Gin sat at his desk, on one end was information on shinobi from many different villages ranging from genins that he had the latest news on to even what forbidden justu some high ranking shinobi had. If there was something you wanted to know, Gin was your man. The scumbag began counting some yen he got from a terrorist looking to get revenge on a Senin, he paid pretty good for getting in through blind spots and where the Senin lived. He didn't know what happened when he told these people what they wanted to know, and clearly he didn't care. He shook the bag of coins, hearing the happy jingle of his money. “Heh.. Heh..” Gin laughed to himself. “I might eat pretty good, I might even bet on the next round." the man snickered, looking at a file that he stole straight from the councilors office another bad guy was expected to come. A Frost ninja looking to get the latest scoop on Konoha shinobi, and he was more than happy to sell some info for the right price.

Re: Lock The Doors! Close The Blinds [Tutoring Topic]

Maikeru just stared at the man blankly as he explained the situation to him. This.. didn't seem like a job he needed him for, he was sure of that much. However, it wasn't like Maikeru could really turn down the opportunity. After all, he might learn something, no matter how small, that might help him in the long run. Not to mention the future jobs this could lead to, if he decided to go down a route like this. It was against his usual morals, but, it was definitely something he could make himself ok with. They were helping people in the village, and Uchiha specifically. It's not like he was just murdering someone in cold blood for no reason, this death had positive repercussions for it.

"Ok.." He said quietly, grimacing a bit at the sight and feel of the gun. "Do.. I really need the gun though? I mean.. it's not very shinobi to use a gun."

He sat there for a minute, before giving a small shrug. He put the gun in the waist line of his pants, near the small of his back so it wouldn't impede his movement. The mask, he happily donned. After all, it looked awesome, and he was pretty excited to be wearing something that cool and well designed. After donning the mask, he followed Maru's lead. He headed to the roof tops, keeping low so that the body guards wouldn't notice him. He supposed that was one of the advantages of being young. Small bodies were harder to see in the darkness than a full grown shinobi would be.

He would wait for Maru to make the first strike before moving. Even as an academy student, his agility and reflexes were above that of a normal person. Prepping himself, he would run across a roof top, before leaping the distance of the street, barely managing to get the tip of his feet onto the targets roof before going into a roll to help him gain the extra distance to land in a crouch position. From there, he made his way quietly along the roof top, looking for an upperstory window he could repel, and breach through. If he saw any lights on, he would go for that window, using the sound of broken glass to hopefully surprise the man long enough for Maikeru to draw the small gun on him.

Re: Lock The Doors! Close The Blinds [Tutoring Topic]

Maru shrugged. “We are doing mercenary work, not shinobi work. And the one rule we have here is that all weapons can be used.” Maru said, keeping an eye on the Uchiha as he made his way around the building Maru decided to draw a gun of his own from his coat, loading two bullets which had a Sapphire tip that a contained air so chilling that Shinobi and Kunoichi have been known to freeze over in a matter of moments if they are hit. He carefully kept eyes on the young Uchiha, the guards seemingly unaware of his presence which was pretty good on his part but still Maru kept ready to shut these men up if the student got sloppy and get caught. But after the student had made his way to the rooftop, it was Maru's turn to head towards the front door to take out the guards…

Maru weaved handsigns to merge with the earth around him, sinking beneath the surface by using their chakra to hide himself. While below ground, Maru began to move closer to the house not even making his way below the guards feet hearing the two men chatting it up on the surface. Maru chuckled to himself, reaching up slowly… ever so slowly then…. He grabbed both of the guards ankles! The two could only utter a single word or yelp before Maru pulled them both underground while Maru rose from the ground. Both men had been buried alive, and to make sure they stay there Maru pulled out his smaller revolver to fire two shots where their heads would be if the where above ground.

“Wha~” Gin said, hearing the yells that had been cut short and the loud gun fire his first thought was that it was bandits, however after hearing the door crash with Maru yelling upstairs. “Hey! Where's the spy man!” He knew that it had to be a lone ANBU looking to make a quick buck. Gin quickly put his money into a pockets in his sleeve and gathered the information he had on konoha and other villages of the like and attempted to flee using the window as his escape route but… someone else looked to be breaking in through the same window he was planning to escape from. Startled by the sudden appearance of the masked boy, it looked like he was going for a gun and the man was about to draw his weapon that was until Maru shot at the kunai the man had drawn out of his hand.

qSKFJ7S.jpg

“Well, well, looks like our snitch here has nowhere to go. You know what they say what happens to tattletales and how they end up getting stitches….” The masked mercenary smirked, gun trained on the man who was starting to break in a cold sweat. “But.. then again, in your case you're a mole to whack.”

Gin held his hands up, he had to say something before these two masked gunslingers wouldn't turn him into swiss cheese. “W-Wait you guys are trying to get a bounty right? How about I pay you both double than what the village would pay for me, I'm sure a couple of ANBU could just let a nonviolent criminal like me sly.” He said, trying to think up of ways to get out of the deep shit he was in. Maru thought for a moment, looking over at his student with a smirk. “Ya hear that, he thinks we are ANBU and now he's trying to bribe us. What I would do in this situation would be to rob this guy of the information he stole AND rob him for the bribe money. But I'm gonna leave the fate of this snitch to you, just as long as you get the info he has.” Since this was a lesson, Maru allowed the boy to choose his fate just to make things interesting. “Oh, and we aren't ANBU. You see we are both rogues hired to take you in dead or alive, and the best part about this is that the village doesn't care what happens to you so you might be shit outta luck if my boy here decides to take you out.” But what will the young Uchiha choose? Meanwhile the man looked like he was reaching for something, but Maru either wasn't paying attention or didn't care. Was the man about to draw a weapon? Call for help?

Per missing council. missing's IC rank is equal to the rank they had when they went missing/exiled for merc.

Maru's IC rank was Academy Student, which means he cannot tutor per the tutoring rules.

So this is voided, unfortunately.

Re: Lock The Doors! Close The Blinds [Tutoring Topic]

Maikeru looked down the barrel of the gun, lining the sight up with the man's chest, directly where the heart was located. He just stood there for what felt like a long moment, seemingly frozen, his Sharingan spinning wildly as he stared at the man whose life he now held in his hands. It would be so simple to kill him, to just pull the trigger, the job would be complete, and ANBU secrets would be safe from the enemy. There was something bothering him, though. How did he know he could trust Maru?

After all, he had disposed of the guards in the same amount of time it took for Maikeru to get into the home. If he wanted to, the man would already be dead on the floor, probably in some horrific way. So.. why did he need Maikeru? Why did he need this academy student to pull the trigger, what was he getting at?

"Don't." Maikeru said to the man, noticing his arm twitching for something. "I will blast you away without a second hesitation, I swear."

As a show of power, or what he could muster, he locked eyes with the man. His Sharingan seemed to flash, before spinning wildly, aiming a genjutsu at the man. It was the only one he knew, An E-rank genjutsu, eye strain. He had hoped it would at least hold up the man long enough for him to have a little extra time to think.

It wasn't long before Maikeru decided what he had to do. He held his position on the man's chest for another moment, before moving, quickly firing off two shots with the revolver he had been given. The shots were aimed at the man's kneecaps, a move to incapacitate him and keep him from running. It wasn't what Maru had wanted from him, but, it accomplished the mission. Now the man would be easily transported back to the leaf.

"There." He said to Maru, replacing the gun into his waistband. "Now we can take him back to the leaf, get names of his buyers, contacts, so on and so forth. At this moment, he's worth slightly more to us alive than dead. For now.."

Of course, not paying too much attention to the man since it was the Uchiha's call on what to do with the man. The boy would see as clear as day that Gin was going for his sword, probably won't be as effective since there were two gunmen in his house but if he could move fast enough he could probably do damage. That made him a threat.. Before the man could even go for his weapon, Maikeru ordered the Gin to stop but now that his cover was blown he grabbed the blade and like a trapped rat he was about to start attacking at anyone. But as soon as the boy revealed his sharingan, the man was automatically caught in the boys genjustu. Causing a uncomfortable pain in Gin’s eyes he was stunned, then he was shot twice in the kneecaps! Causing him to fall, clutching his nasty wound. “YOU LITTLE SON OF A-!” the man yelled, cutting off what he was about to say.

Now that the boy bagged his own criminal, the mission was complete but the next thing the young mercenary would say may shock the boy. “Sounds good, but you see kid I can't actually go anywhere near fire country, you see I got a lot of enemies around their and hence why I needed a innocent young leaf academy student to take him and cash him in.” Which was why he needed to have a student to help him, if it be any who wasn't a wanted person in fire country he probably would've taken him in himself. Maru walked over to the man who was still clutching his wound then he pulled out a wooden ball, pressing the button before dropping it onto the man so the man would be imprisoned in a wooden coffin with wheels so it could be easier to drag.

Strolling over to gather the info that the man had on konoha, stolen documents, troop movement, all the things someone would need for a successful invasion or to sneak into the village if they wanted to. “Here, when you go take this too. I'm sure they would be wanting these too, make sure when you come around Tea again you have my cut of the money.” he said, however he actually didn't care if he actually brought back the money. He was actually about to find the safe around here to take it before he left, so he didn't have to worry about some masked thug looking for him. But of course he didn't know that. “Also congrats on catching your first living criminal, he was a low ranking thug but he was tough enough to trick ANBU and he got caught by an academy student.”

There was a pause in the commotion as Maikeru slowly walked towards the man, the singular tomoe in his eye mutating, growing into a second as he stared at the man, locking eyes with him. He was quickly becoming a shining example of what an Uchiha should be, and his eyes were reflecting that more, and more as he grew in power. He crouched in front of the man, grabbing him by the hair, forcing the man to lock eyes with him for another genjutsu.

"I think it's time you slept.." Maikeru muttered to the man, the two tomoe in his eyes spinning wildly. "I need to talk to our friend here, and I don't need you using that big mouth of yours quite yet."

There was a slight stutter from the man as the genjutsu took effect, his eyes becoming droopier, and droopier, before he finally lost consciousness. Maikeru let his hair go with an exaggerated release, letting his head hit the ground with a small thud. The young Uchiha let out a small sigh as he stood back up, looking to Maru, letting his Sharingan once again return to his onyx colored eyes. He stared at the mercenary for a while, unsure of exactly what to say. He had some question, and he was pretty sure Maru would be the one to answer them.

"You're a nune-kin, aren't you?" He finally asked, crossing his arms across his chest. "That's why you can't turn him in. You're a missing shinobi of the hidden leaf."

At the accusation he made, Maikeru held his hands defensively in front of himself, in a sort of dismissing manner.

"Don't worry, you don't have any concern with me going and telling the higher ups about this. I just have a question for you, and I think you of all people can give me a unique perspective no one in the leaf can. I've been thinking a lot.. about my clan, about my village. About what it all really means, about if the leaf is truly the wondrous place I was raised to believe it was. So, I have to ask you, Maru. What is a village to you? What is family, to a missing nin like yourself?"
