Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Background: Emerging from Arcadia, they have a long history with the building up of the clan. From the times when Iwagakure was within the realms of Arcadia the clan slummed it out being one of the lower classed of all the others but one of the stronger clans in terms of prowess in battle. Picking up prestige around the time of the first Tsuchikage's death while being able to stake claim into the village. They are mostly known for being affiliated deeply with Shamans and having meager ties with the Guardians of that time. Though nothing too deeply was ever known about this clan. They are all known to have a deep ties with Genjutsu and Shadow Ninjutsu as well as Unarmed Taijutsu. They have much mystery surrounding them... and with the mystery has given them a bad rep in the village on some ends... yet they still help and preserve the village as they can.

Clan Name: Ryujin (Dragon God)

Motto: The night is dark and full of terrors

Banner: Don't know where to get a banner made but I have photoshop so I'll figure it out later. Below is the Symbol of the Clan.

Political Structure: The Ryujin clan is much like an Elective monarchy having a monarchical form of government where the Elected monarch exercises ultimate governing authority as head of house and head of clan, thus wielding political power over the sovereign clan and its subject peoples as well as the lesser Uchiha branch and others with direct blood relations to the sovereign Ryujin. The manner of election is done by a 'fire meeting' or as the clan calls it an Agni Kai, a duel to see who is the strongest and right to rule. The nature of candidate qualifications is rather simple, one must be of the Ryujin name or the lesser branch Uchiha relations by blood and believes the ruler to weak or unfit to rule and themselves better suited for the role. There are no electors however, an Agni Kai is not official unless nine clan members are present in an official arena, two of which must be a family member of the current monarch if possible. All other forms of challenge to the monarch are considered an act of treason unless initiated by the monarch. If the monarch is killed else wise, one within the clan may declare themselves the new head of house. If any disputes, Agni Kai.

The Joining: Pm a ryujin sister your character history.

Rite of Passage: One must survive the trials set by three of the clans elders. The trials have never been the same as another for over 40 years but all test one's body, will, and spirit... sometimes mind.

Background: House Ryujin is one of the many Great Houses of Iwagakura being a very rich, powerful, and old dynasty. The head of House Ryujin and head of the clan is Ryujin Shouta, dragon of the north and south gates. Their lands are in the western part of Arcadia on a rocky promontory overlooking the Sunset Sea. It overlooks the thriving tourist attractions and sits atop of one the most productive diamond mines in Iwagakure. Fair-hair, fair-skin and beautiful, the Ryujin are the blood of Iwagakure adventurers who helped carve out a mighty village. With strong bodies and even stronger wills, the Ryujin fought many wars and battles before making settlement. There original origin is to this day, lost to history. Through the female line, boast of descent from Kokoa the Clever, the legendary trickster of her time swindled the land, in which the clan house now sits, from its previous rulers thanks to the power of the Los Ojos Diablos (Sharingan). The Ryujin ruled the Westerlands as the monarch of the Rock before swearing allegiance to the 1st Tsukage and signing their part of the Arcadian Peace Treaty. They have since served the Stone village and now last Tsukage as the paramount of the Westerlands and Wardens of the West. The diamond minds has made them one of the wealthiest of the Great Clan Houses.

Notable People The Ryujin sisters and the head of the clan, their father Ryujin Akari.

Clan Name: Kazehi

Motto: Strength through Hardship, Honor through Purpose

Banner:

A mitsudomoe surrounded by five equidistant dots, representing the Mind/Body/Spirit surrounded by the five Elements. Can also be speculated as the swirling Void caused from the five elements.

Political Structure: Normally, the Clan will form a Council of Elders who advise the Family Heads in their decisions; meeting monthly or when a decision that will have an effect on the entire clan is presented. However, when there is not enough members to hold a council, “Leadership” will be passed to the eldest person known to the clan and the family records delivered. This title is known as the Lineage Holder. Duties include the maintenance and accuracy of the Clan records, offering the Rites of Passage for those who would join the clan from outside, and officially recognizing marriages for those marrying into the Clan and gaining the Clan name.

Member List:
  • Kazehi Ryu (First Born) [Current Clan Lineage Holder]

Admission: Those who wish to be admitted to the Clan need to be of at least D-Rank when attempting to join from outside OCR/Character Creation. Steadfast, Chakra Attuned, Benevolent, and Reckless Core Abilities have been noted in the Clan Records, but sometimes other Bloodlines or Core Abilities can become present.
For Joining from OCR/Character creation, within their History mention must be made of being a DIRECT DESCENDENT of the most recent mentioned Kazehi mentioned in the CLAN HISTORY. Example, great-great-grandson/daughter of Hamatashi is acceptable but being the nephew of Enrou wouldn’t. A Rite of Acceptance is given to the OCR/Created Character when they reach 16 years old ICly, this is administered by the Clan council/Lineage Holder. The Character must undertake a proper challenge to show their determination and dedication to not only the Clan but the Village; they have a choice of Hunting, Service, or Combat.

> The Rite of Hunting is conducted outside of the village and requires the one partaking of it to seek out and kill a dangerous animal/reptile in single combat while observed by a representative of the Clan or the Lineage Holder themselves. This creature will be made by the Clan council or Lineage holder, but it is up to the participating character to accept the challenge or pass on to something else.
> The Rite of Service requires the participant to undergo a select number of years in service to the village BESIDE their membership as a shinobi. Example would be entering the Medical Branch, one could not spend time as a volunteer of the Clinic or in service to the Shamus of the village, but could serve for the Temple, help tutor students or serve as aides to the teachers.
> The Rite of Combat is a non-lethal battle between a participant who is wishing to be Accepted, and a previously Accepted member. The participant seeking Acceptance need not expected to defeat the evaluating member, simply show their worth to the Council or Lineage Holder who they may challenge if they so choose. The participant will be evaluated on strategy, execution, and ability. Most who seek this form of Acceptance tend to pass should they defeat a member of higher standing in the Clan with high praise but it is not a dishonor to either party to be defeated.

All of the above mentioned Rites may be administered to those wishing to join the clan from Pre-Existing characters. All characters who have attained a successful Acceptance gain access to the Clan name and claims to the Heritage as well as a possible spot in the formation of a Council or even possibly the next Lineage Holder should he/she pass on.

Goals: The Kazehi clan seeks to uphold the traditions, structure, and wellbeing of Stone; safekeeping the old ways so that as the young grow they might know their roots.

Background:
From the formation of the Temple of Five, the members were often inducted into the Priesthood of the Temple of Five to maintain the Elemental Incarnations. Strength of the Body, Mind, and Spirit were ever important to the clan, this led to most of the Kazehi to be known as Warriors Priests of the Stone, not only serving the taxing duty of keeping the Incarnations alight but as moral advisors and guardians of the village folk. A Kazehi could often be identified by a hulking and solid physique, often much larger than most other villagers and this was said to allow them to better shoulder the burdens of the village when the time arose, and until such time their herculean figures were to be dedicated wholeheartedly to the Temple. Though not always the case, some generations did opt to become members of the Warriors or Shaman ranks, forgoing the Priesthood and finding their purpose was to support the community better. While not always overt, the presence of a Kazehi either by direct descent or by way of a Sub-family member, can be found within the records of the village very easily; though it’s also quite frequent for the members to suddenly vanish out of history to not be seen again for unbeknownst reasons. It’s speculated that many leave the village on Pilgrimage to seek out enlightenment in the far reaches of the world, or perhaps those who maintain the Elemental Incarnations allow themselves to be consumed by the Incarnations when they grow unable to maintain the connection so that they become one with the Pillar that they had supported for all their lives.
The most influential of the clan was Kazehi Tomajiro who became one of the youngest Priests of the Temple of Five, able to maintain all five Pillars from the very center of the Temple. He managed to do so for several hours at a time, granting many of the other priests a short rest to regain their strength while Tomajio prayed within the Void room. No one knew how the man managed the feat but suggested that perhaps he had been blessed by an Ancestor or Kami that favored him greatly. In truth, the man was a savant in the art of moulding chakra, revealing later in life that he had come to tap into great reservoirs within himself through meditation at each Incarnation; such connection to the elements gave him a particular familiarity as to what each Pillar required to be maintained effectively. Within a few years, he rose to become a High Priest but his tenure was cut short when a wasting affliction began to degrade his body’s ability to mould the chakra with the proper strength and effectiveness to support the Pillars. Resigning from the Temple, Tomajiro eventually married and passed on the Kazehi name to a daughter, Kazehi Arashi, while he gathered records of his Clan from the temple and village, compiling them into a roster of the scant members through the ages, eventually passing away from his affliction at the age of 54.

Years later, Arashi would be one of the members to forgo entering the Temple, instead becoming a Shaman for the Stone; advancing through the ranks at a surprising rate by showing a particular affinity to the healing arts. The young woman had reached the rank of High Shaman at the age of 18, venturing out of Stone for a time to return with a blend of herbs and tubers that proved to help prevent the atrophy of muscular cells through routine treatment. Though she never married, Arashi wound up giving birth to a son, Kazehi Iroma, six months after returning to the village. Arashi remained a High Shaman until her death at the age of 67 from natural causes.

Records showing nothing of particular note about Iroma except that he passed on the Kazehi name to a daughter, Kazehi Namiko, and two sons, Raijou and Enrou, before passing away at 50 years old due to health complications.
According to the records that had been maintained by the family, Namiko went on to follow in her Grandmother Arashi’s footsteps to become a shaman, though didn’t become a High Shaman till she was in her 30’s and passed away some time in her 70’s, Raijou became a Priest for the Temple and maintained the Pillar of Wind until his death at the age of 80, though his remains were never found. Enrou became a Warrior for the Stone, and was killed at the age of 36 defending an outlying community within the country from a Carnasaur attack; he slew the beast before succumbing to the wounds and the skull is still a fixture in the village to this day carved with the Kazehi clan symbol in his honor.

Records of the Kazehi taper off, but suggest that Enrou had an undocumented child and Namiko had adopted an apprentice, Chomitashi Arita, into the Clan before her death.

Arita followed her mentor’s path and continued the Shaman tradition, passing on the Clan to several children during her lifetime, she maintained the records of the Clan despite not being of direct descent.

A man came forward years later, Kazehi Hamatashi, and identified himself as Enrou’s descendant and with the assistance of Arita’s children to form a central Council for the Clan to better track the members of the family; Hamatashi proved to be a skilled fighter and was the first Lineage Holder of the Kazehi, charged with training the descendants of the family as a supplement to the Stone Academy.

As years pass, the records taper off into ambiguity making mention of many possible lines holding the Kazehi name but few existed within Iwagakure itself and seem to be lost in the records of the village and have no mention of the past sixty or so years.
