Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

I'll be keeping Makeinu as an iNPC. If I'm not able to continue my contract search as an NPC then simply have it voided. I know there was a lot of compromising done in order to get that going, and that I put a ton of work into my posts, but I don't mind forfeiting if I must.

Character Age: 26
Gender: Male
Character's Physical Description: Standing at a rather average 5'9" Jinichi isn't going to be putting the fear of God in anyone with his appearance alone. His build is lean and athletic, but almost always covered in a traditionally styled kimono. He's got long hair that he usually keeps in a messy pony-tail, and the tips have been dyed red. His eyes are unexceptional, being simply black. Tattooed around his neck, wrists, and ankles are simple geometric patterns. Sticking to tradition, he doesn't bother wearing modern clothing or styling himself in any way to adapt to the world outside his isolated place of origins. His ears are both pierced.
Character's Mental Description: Seeming to be more or less pleasant and simple at all times, he does it so naturally most wouldn't believe it's a facade. In his entire life he's never had a single sincere smile, but his ability to produce an identical fake one keeps him from making people uncomfortable. To say he's emotionless would be a complete lie, but his emotions are focused on things most people don't even think about. Power, strength, popularity, all those things mean nothing to him in the slightest. Despite having no prior experience as a Shinobi, he doesn't seem to let his shortcomings bother him too much. It's almost as if he doesn't take life seriously at all, but the truth could be that he simply doesn't have time for anyone's pity. Life dealt him a hand, so he's playing it and that appears to be all there is to it.
Multiple Personality Application: Nope.
Character History: Born on an island off the coast of Wind Country, he's still technically a resident. His father was only around for a short period, abandoning him and his mother before Jinichi himself was even born. He'd stay on the island helping his mother and living out a simple life for a long time, and learning what he could about his nonexistent father. He found out that his father had been a Shinobi gone rogue from a place called the Hidden Sand Village. It wasn't until his mother died from illness that he, with nothing tying him to the island, set off to find the village. His motivation was to become a Shinobi, and track down his father. His intention would surely be to kill the man for allowing his mother to suffer alone and die in the end having raised Jinichi without help. What better way than to learn from the ones who trained him? Besides, he didn't know where to look, and if anyone could help him find the guy it would be a bunch of ninja...Right? He knew nothing about the Takahashi, to him it was just a last name. It wouldn't be until he reached Sunagakure that he'd begin to learn about his forgotten heritage and that even among them, he was just a fringe relation. Always smarter and more intuitive than people ever gave him credit for, he managed to handle himself pretty well against any other civilians but had no actual training. However; he was sneaky and and always had a way of doing things just at the right time. Jinichi never showed any hints at having any sort of special bloodline, but then again he hadn't learned more than simple meditation as far as chakra was concerned and he wasn't so sure it was the same "type" of chakra that super powered Shinobi talked about. Not that he'd ever met one, but stories and news traveled. His mother never wanted him to be like his father, and thus never wanted him fighting or training. He respected her wishes for the most part, sneaking out at night to work basic melee techniques alone when he couldn't sleep. As such, he's got a natural talent for brawling. Perhaps there's a lot more to his story, but he's not the most forthcoming individual until you've managed to gain his trust which can be hard considering he wasn't even truly close with his mother.

His grandmother had given them to him as a youth, as a reminder of whom he was even without a father. He rarely is seen without them, and if then replaces it with a cross given by the same relative. Sticking to tradition, he doesn't bother wearing modern clothing or styling himself in any way to adapt to the world outside his isolated place of origins too much. His ears are both pierced. One of his front teeth had been knocked out in his youth, though not usually noticed since he speaks so little.

Character History: Takahashi Jin'ichi, a distant estranged relative of Takahashi Sousuke III. His father was descended from the First Men, from rebels that joined Primus in his war against the Ancients. Those rebels had been slaves, losing the names of their respective clans to times immemorial. After their liberation, they were easily among the most brutal and savage of the First Men. Their captivity had made them strong of spirit, souls forged in the heat of unimaginable cruelty. Taking pride in their own primal essence the tribe united under the name Banjin; embracing accusations of savagery and barbarity as a sign of their closeness with nature. These men and women last even through the blessing of Mother Suna bestowed upon the Sunahoshi.

Without foes the likes of the Ancients to face, the Banjin unto themselves considered the following times an era of comfort and peace. Without names other than that which they banded under in unity, they quickly dissolved into the general population. The last living known male to possess the Banjin name had only a single child, a daughter and so ended up marrying into a lesser-known branch of the Takahashi family. This would lay the foundation for the birth of Takahashi Meshita, Jin'ichi's father. This offshoot of the family maintained their duties as Shinobi, but never enough to truly be associated with the main-house by more than name alone. Meshita's father and close relatives never had a thing to do with serving the Sunahoshi as the main-house or even the Banjin of the First Men did. They barely owned a dwindling manufacturing shop for tools and weaponry. For all intents and purposes they were a mediocrity as a whole, and Meshita never found it acceptable. Eventually, Meshita would turn rogue. After he had turned away from Sunagakure, it became clear that he had been involved in criminal activities as well as moonlighting for minor organizations and villages.

While taking a break from his criminal activities in an effort to lay low, he hid out among country folk along Wind Country's shorelines. It was while passing through one of these small villages, he'd meet Jin'ichi's mother, Bara. Her people were almost gypsy-like, mysterious and reverent of nature and harmony. They claimed ancestral stories of nomadic drifters, once cursed by the Ancient Fuujin to become like wolves. After Primus' victory a moderate but sustainable group of these people chose to find their way home, leaving long before the First Men encountered Mother Suna post-war. The effort to maintain their link with home and ancestry allowed a disarrayed oral tradition and culture to survive their enslavement. It was said that some among them were seers, wise-men, witch-doctor's, and other things before being cursed with feral devolution/alteration. By the time of Bara's birth though, her mother had been one of the few to pay any true attention to the old ways. Bara herself, would not follow suit. Instead, she left home with Meshita charming her away. It was during this time they'd move to an island off the coast of Wind Country.

The island was a place that was overcrowded, with few rural areas. Crime and suffering was all around, but so was opportunity for Meshita. At the island's epicenter was the hub for all activity and trade to the island. People died every day, but no one cared as they busied themselves etching out a living in growing markets. It was the perfect place for him to be overlooked by any Sunagakurian spy for a while, and so he resumed work. Quickly he found himself earning coin through assassinations and protecting disreputable criminals. They were there for years, but the money was never enough to protect them from a harsh life. Meshita had an eye for the finer things in life, such as jewelry and women. Despite having three children with Bara over the four of five years they spent in the city together, he was never satisfied. Selfish and more interested in himself, Jin'ichi bore witness to violence and pointless hunger at an early age. Eventually, Meshita grew bored with the low-income levels, especially compared to what he made as a full blown mercenary in Wind Country. He wanted to live the high life, and nothing was going to stop him, not even a family.

One day, he was just gone. There wasn't even a letter, or a big fight like usual before the abandonment. The man had just left a country woman in the cruel city with only burdens to carry. Working menial jobs here and there, Jin'ichi's mother eventually worked herself to exhaustion and illness. Jin'ichi, mostly lost in his own world of books and stories had the heavy task of watching his siblings- Whom, between the two of them were only four years younger than himself. As time went on Jin'ichi ended up in a lot of trouble, fighting in the neighborhoods and skipping conventional schools of thought. He ended up more of a burden to his mother than anything else. Lost in his own problems, thoughts, the things he'd been exposed to a relatively numb mind didn't seek work to aid his mother. Not after quitting the few jobs he'd attempted over the years. Bara never put any expectations on her children, and loved them regardless of their productivity. Jin'ichi's two younger siblings got involved with things like art and music. Still, where they lived that meant posing for failed drunken artists and playing in shitty pubs. It was when Bara truly became bedridden that Jin'ichi, after yet another run-in with the authorities, decided he'd seek out his father. His siblings had been able to keep the illness mild, and support their mother. Despite his high intelligence and capability to handle himself in a street brawl or two, he himself had amounted to nothing. His mother never wanted him to be like his father, and thus never wanted him fighting or training. He respected her wishes for the most part, sneaking out at night to practice some basic melee alone when he couldn't sleep.

Knowing he couldn't cut it as an ordinary worker, he decided to change his life by his own means. Having once found the old and slashed forehead protector his father had once kept, his mother had told him about his father's suspected ties to Sunagakure. Thoughts of being something so much more than the average man had always haunted him, making him too disillusioned to be satisfied working for others like his siblings and mother had done. Deciding he would embark on a journey to find and end his father's life for their abandonment, he turned to another place abandoned by his father: Sunagakure. Never having actually seen a real Shinobi, he had only ever heard them spoken of and it was a fact that most Shinobi had little interest in the island unless they were like his father. Still, news traveled and with the fabled Desert Maelstrom finally faded from reality, he'd be able to make his way there.

While traveling across the Desert Expanse one night, from atop a dune he looked down on a bloody scene. A young boy stood in the center of what looked to be a small massacre, limbs and bone both torn and shattered all about from the corpses. The boy himself was drenched in the blood of his foes, howling at the sky in rage behind a mask that looked like a horrific lipless grin. Something obscured the youth's right eye, allowing only the brightly glowing left to pierce the night with red. Scarlet wisps of energy wound through the air ascending from the youth's body as a dark and foul energy made Jin'ichi feel goosebumps even from close to fifty feet away. Having been so lost in thought while wandering, he couldn't believe the wicked sensations and sight hadn't caught his attentions 'til then. Jin'ichi had never seen anything like it, and could even see the boy's flesh peeling away and ascending with the threads of demonic energy. It was at that moment the demonic child would turn and look in Jin'ichi's direction with a wide eye.

Jin'ichi's own eyes widening in response as stepped back and reached for a stolen Ninjatō at his hip. A stream of sand kicked up by stomping feet followed the boy, and just like that a battle. The child had gone through much, and in the end had a destiny with death. Overtaken by the dark energies of the cursed seal given to him by a Sennin on fate's whim, mind too shattered to endure it for long. Having failed to discover anything about his foster mother's captors, and losing to a hired thug meant he escaped with barely his life and nothing more. The stress had begun to take its toll, setting off triggers inside him one after another like a succession of toggle switches. The last one went off when a group of bandits found him wandering in the night, wounded. Their assault and battery unleashed a sleeping beast, and all restraints on the cursed energy in his small frame. The seal wouldn't be able to deactivate, and thus sent him into a mad frenzy. Jin'ichi was just at the wrong place, at the wrong time.

The battle ended with a badly injured but standing Jin'ichi standing over the lifeless child. Blood dripped studiously and perfectly from the tip of his blade, into the same pool of blood. The boy's mask had been removed near the end of combat, revealing such a youthful face devoid of all life paradoxically. Quickly looking around, and seeing no one in sight, he sped off to continue his search. It'd be days before he'd find Sunagakure and one step closer towards vengeance. Little did he know just how important the life he'd cut down had been, nor how more important it would become. He'd belonged to a woman, if you could call the being such, of unimaginable importance even if no one else knew. By her hand, that very same child was brought into a family that he'd only far too late realize they shared. Without any further chance to do things differently he'd stained his hands forever. With the blood of a child no less, a child that knew too much, and spoke an echoing prophecy into existence. Perhaps with him, taking one of the few things left Mother Suna herself actually cared for anymore.

Jin'ichi eventually ran into a band of nomads, tribal people that lived in what others thought were unbearable. He'd manage to barter with gold coins he'd stolen back on the island, getting bandages and water. Before leaving he'd trade for a set of clothes that didn't carry the stink of blood on them. Remembering the days his mother would have to take him and his siblings to the country parts of the island, seeing the old temples and traditional culture, he picked out a simple kimono. Black and red on the outer layers, but white and a pale red on the inner. Wooden sandals and comfortable tabi covered his feet, all in all he looked pretty well off. His weaponry had been cleaned and his rations restored, so he left being pointed for once in the right direction, despite an ominous fate.

As he limped along, he thought about other aspects of his own personal story. Things he'd seen and done that not even his mother knew about, which wasn't a surprise. Jin'ichi hadn't been really close with anyone, not even his siblings. It seemed for the most part like he was just somewhere else, and perhaps someone else at times. The truth was he kept all his interests to himself, down to literary choices. He felt they'd be of interest to no one, and even when they'd ask would deflect conversation politely. His family never knew much about any of his friends, and he never cared to explain new scars or bruises growing up. On a mental level, he knew about some of the degrading things his mother had gone through simply in order to raise them. Maybe that was a small part of the reason why he never allowed himself to be close to her, but it wasn't as though he seemed too fond of himself either. The facade he usually wore was composed of calmness and simplicity. His bestial temper however; was known by those closest to him as well as those that had fought him over time. "Heh, with that sack of shit as my father- I was destined to be this fucked up." He thought to himself, just as buildings came into view.

He'd arrived at Project Rebirth, the place where Sunagakure was building a new home for itself. Out from beneath the darkness, and to be among the rest of the world after decades of isolation. He was surprisingly well accepted, even for a man who didn't seem suspicious. It wasn't until he learned that a man named Takahashi Sousuke III was the acting leader for them all. It was then that he began to consider about his father's portion of the family, and how the Takahashi name became so big without them. He was welcomed by the busy and near constantly absent Steward-Kazekage, as Jin'ichi hadn't anywhere to reside after trading the last of his gold with the nomads. Though he hadn't been trained by anyone in particular, Sousuke would see his potential and grant him the rank of Genin since he was far too old for the academy. Through books and scrolls, he'd learn about his heritage and that he himself was barely a fringe relation of the benevolent steward. Still, they were true cousins nonetheless. All of this happened over the span of about two to three weeks, give or take a few days. All this time he'd never met Takahashi Shiori, with their abode housing so many persons and so many objects. He did however; learn about the disappearance of a young child called Makeinu... Curiosity would begin to push him towards investigating what he could, perhaps to calm his own conscience...

so the BL will throw down later.

Everything looks mostly good with no jutsu swaps, mental personality, etc. etc.

When you mention his father working for minor organizations and villages. I have to assume within wind country?
