Is today the day I finally start doing what I have planned?
The question was a simple one, but Daisuke knew that the answer would be anything but. He had been drifting for months if the truth were told, simply going through the motions without really exerting himself or working to improve himself in any real way. However, there had always been a small voice in his head which had whispered to him, urging him to start acting like the shinobi that he was, to work on bettering himself and making himself more able to protect the village that he now called home.
One step, one outward sign of an inward change and I can wipe the slate clean. No more coasting, I need to become stronger.
The thoughts filtered through his head as he looked around the waiting room at the entrance to the hospital, his eyes passing over the various people that sat around, waiting to be seen. There was nothing life threatening, half the people here didn't even need to be at the hospital, and yet he had spent the past handful of months with these civilians, helping them and refusing to push himself. He had avoided choosing a speciality, instead opting for the easy routine that he had become accustomed to. Shaking his head slightly, the Uchiha walked out of the waiting room and out in front of the hospitals main entrance, sitting himself down on a bench nearby and lighting a cigarette.
This ends today. I stop existing, and start living again.
Taking another drag of his cigarette, Daisuke smiled and leaned back, his mind set as he watched the world go by.
