Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The young Yamanaka child was given a mission handed to him by his father. A sheet of paper poorly written that described an even that happened a few days ago. Apparently, some farmer's gate was broken by fallen branches and some pigs got out. Why was this a mission for a Shinobi? The child folded up the paper and placed it into the pockets of his shorts before giving his father a half-assed two finger salute. Turning to his room he needed change, if he were to take this seriously at least. Letting out a sigh the blonde child put on a casual outfit, a simple hoodie and overalls. A quick wrap for his tools and he was set to go. Leaving the house he wouldn't say goodbye to his parents as he honestly didn't care.

Taking a quick little trek to the outskirts of the village he could see the damaged fencing getting repaired by the old man; he must have been the client. Giving him a quick waive Shusuke would make his way down the side road before casually hopping the fence and making his way to the path left by the boars. Taking a moment to look at the scuff marks and the imprints into the soil he would take count of the number of boars. It looks like three to five, which shouldn't be bad. They were just a few pigs after all. Welp, it was time to get a little serious. Shifting his mind from thinking how dumb this mission was to thinking this was important. Phantosmia... The projection of his mind began to expand to everything around him. A sweet scent would begin to dance in the breeze. Subtle hints of bergamot, a sweet orange, and peppermint would push away from him. Pulling his blade from his sheath he would be at the ready.

Striding forward the pulses of chakra would be emitted from the genjutsuist as he would try and pick up the mind of anything around him. Soft pings of life were picked up, birds, mice, and other small creatures were living in this section of the forest which was to be expected. Time passed and the child continued to follow the trail left behind by the boars. and a few hours of darting like through the woods he would come to a clearing and to his objective. Four large boars were rooting in this clearing and were actively upturning small trees and shrubs. While Shusuke didn't understand animals that much he knew one thing, they all had a mind.

Taking a moment to gather the required chakra it was time for Shusuke to finish this mission with ease. A few handseals and the boy would extend his arms with his thumb, index and middle fingers all touching. He lined up a Ninja Art: Mind Body Disturbance. His eyes rolled back and everything went dark. They boy's body took a step back as he sent a large portion of his consciousness to one of the boars. His sight was doubled. He could see through his eyes and through the eyes of the boar. They weren't aware of his location. A grin took to his face. This was probably going to drain most of his chakra. He wasn't built for one versus many. Hell, honestly he wasn't built for direct combat thanks to his Yamanaka blood. Regardless he would begin weaving the minds of the targets into the fabric of his control.

A few moments passed as the boy began to weave multiple genjutsu at the targets. Deafness to make them unaware of the boy's presence, Lethargy to slow their reaction time, Drunken Stupor to make their balance off kilter... A bead of sweat came down the boy's brow as the Boars were starting to waiver and were on the edge of passing out. Shusuke needed them to follow him, He had to bring them back and if he dropped them, it wouldn't be possible. Time to bring them in. Shusuke would approach slowly and take a rope that he had. He slowly tied it around the boars' necks and used it as a lead. Taking slow steps and concentrating on his genjutsu he could feel his chakra diminishing. He doesn't want these boars to break from his illusion because if they did he would not have the reserves to fend all four of them off.

It felt like the way back was significantly longer than the path he took to find the boars, but that was because he was walking and concentrating on multiple genjutsu to keep these boars calm. As he approached the farm he could see that same old man who at this point finished repairing the fence around his property. Niceties were exchanged and so were the reigns being used to lead the boars. Finally, Shusuke was able to head home as his mission was complete.

He placed his glove on with a smile. Apparently the last mission caught the attention of the higher ups and now he was assigned a real mission and he was very excited for it. There was an incident, he didn't know the exact details but he knew it was serious as many of the upper ranked shinobi were murmuring about it. His mission was relatively simple. Find the enemy shinobi that were still in the city and take them out. Flipping his blade in the air he caught it by the hilt. "Show time."

Stepping out of his house he was wearing a simple black asymmetric crop top that allowed him a wide range of motion and was on the tighter side so that there would be no loose fabric for his enemies to grab hold of. Focusing his mind, the boy would begin to search for the bandits that were still lurking within the village. Channeling his chakra into his feet he would quickly dart up the side of the building before launching himself into the air. A quick spin in the air and the boy would grin before landing. He loved being a ninja.

Darting from roof top to roof top he would make a series of hand seals before summoning three clones made of electrical energy. The team of clones would fan out, all with their short blade in hand. Shusuke was grinning, if the Yamanaka blood in him was good for one thing it was for tracking and collecting information. Every fifteen or so minutes Shusuke would send his consciousness down from the roof tops into the citizens below. He couldn't know what they knew, not yet, but he could see for himself from their eyes. His awareness of the world would expand as if he were standing where they were. Then he felt it.

A quick burst and disposal of his Elemental Clone over in the Maple District. Like a bolt of lightning the young boy darted in that direction. Solid thumps of foot on shingle could be heard echoing as a blond blur soared across the sky above the streets. In near lightning speed as his body began to surge with pure storm energy. His second Elemental clone was dispersed. A brow furrowed, he had to move faster. With two clones down he assumed he was looking for a Chuunnin or a few Genin. Not to toot his own horn, but he knew he was probably the strongest Academy Student in Konohagakure, and if that meeting with the Hokage didn't emphasize this fact he knew that his upcoming meetings with Daiji to help tame his unbridled strength would prove his point.

Found them A burst of electricity as his third clone was destroyed and the thugs down before acted cocky. There was one main leader standing there with two lackeys. They seemed proud of their accomplishments. They were cocky enough to even be wearing enemy headbands within our city. Like a bolt of lightning Shusuke crashed into the ground not too far from them. His surging presence ripping across his skin as the smell of not only ozone filled the air, but the scent of burned flesh.

"Well, well, well what have we he-" The leader of the group begin to say before being cut off with a blood filled cough. Shusuke had, in the blink of an eye, planted his blade into the target's ribs. "Lightning Style: Electrocution..." As soon as his words left his mouth the surging storm energy that covered his body erupted through the blade and into the enemy. An ear shattering scream came from the young man as Shusuke filled his body with massive amounts of electricity. Then he faded into darkness for the trio. Looking down at the young the young man and leader of the bandits so no wound. "Wha-what the hell?" Though there was no wound on his abdomen he still had blood trickling from his lips.

"The fight is already over..."

Sparks of yellow lightning was flickering in this darkness. Small incisions would be made as Shusuke lands on a nearby wall, planting his location using his chakra wall climb ability, before pushing off to once again strike the bandits. Much like a pinball ricocheting off of the walls Shusuke would push himself, faster and faster. Cuts and slashes causing splattersof blood could only be described as a bloody mess. This darkened visage, of course, was an illusion. Blindness caused by the Yamanaka as they were being filled with the Nightshade Extract which infamously connected to his clan. Shusuke felt like this fight was coming to an end, but as he pushed one more time to try and land the finishing blow to their leader his blade was dodged by a quick spin before the enemy planted his foot into Shusuke's back.

"Fuck off, kid. You think a weak ass Genjutsu like that would work on us?" A series of shuriken would be sent into the air that flew quickly at Shusuke, and before he could act they sank into his forearms and abdomen as he tried to cover his vital organs. A deep cough ripped from his lungs as he made impact with the nearby wall. Hitting the ground the surges of his storm energy began to fade. His arms were weak and he tried to push himself up off of the ground, but before he could his side was kicked by one of the lackeys. Plummeting to his side the two lackeys began to stomp and kick the young boy's body, Cocky grins came across their face until the boy faded into nothingness.

"Having fun?" Shusuke asked while standing on top of the nearby building, with barely a scratch on him. As the Leader looked back to where they thought the Academy Student was before they would realize they had just stomped one of the two lackeys to near death. "Why I-" The surviving lackey said before being cut off as he turned back to see Shusuke, mid air with a blade approaching his eye quickly. Connecting his feet to the enemy's chest Shusuke would pierce into the eye socket of his enemy, forcing his body back and down into the wall behind him. Shusuke would leave this small blade as he pushed back and flipped away from his enemy.

His gaze shifted to look at the leader, a second blade wa spulled from another sheath and then a third. Crossing his arms in front of him Shusuke was ready to end this. Without saying a single word, the two shinobi darted forwards and at each other. A clanking sound of metal could be heard echoing away from this road. They seemed evenly matched, that was until Shusuke began to shift his fighting style. Tossing a dagger into the air he would grab a fourth and sink it into the enemy's thigh. Letting go of the blade he would grab the air born one before sinking it into the enemy as well. This was effective. A series of blows and Shusuke would drop all of his blades into this enemy's joins and limbs, causing him to fall to his knees.

Pushing back Shusuke would grab the handle of his father's blade. He took a moment to pause. He could feel his storm energy channeling into his blade. He could feel the air around him fill with a positively charged ocean of ions, and he could smell the negatively charged ions that swarmed his enemy, He wants to, no... He needed to let loose. Like a bolt of lightning his body was forced to move across space and what felt like time. Pushing forward he pulled his blade as he darted through the air.

Returning the blade to its sheath, the boy's body began to slide across the ground as his feet tried to slow his trajectory. He let out a sigh, panting for air. For a second there was peace, but the sound of the enemy's head hitting the ground brought Shusuke back into reality. Looking at his enemy he saw numerous blades locking him into a pin cushioned pose. This... This was something new. This was something he needed to practice more. He needed to speak with his sensei, but which one? Would Daiji-sensei take this serious enough? Did he commit a crime, would he be able to tell Asuka-Sensei? He could feel his chakra completely depleted. But he had to let the those in power know that he had completed his mission successfully.

A loud yawn could be heard as the tapping on the window grew louder. It was probably the middle of the night when Shusuke was awakened by the sounds of a messenger bird pecking a his window with a small parchment rolled up on its leg. "God damn it..." Rolling out of bed the young shinobi would open his window and take the scroll before shooing the bird away. What was it now? Huh, looks like those weren't shinobi I found and defeated last week. That explains why I could take down that "Chuunin" so easily. He rubbed his eyes free from sleep and walked to his bed before sitting down. Instinctually his arm wrapped around a nearby pillow. So it looks their boss is pretty pissed at me, the send a couple more bandits into town. Oh? What's this.." He continued to read where the note spoke of trouble being stirred in one of the nearby communities as the bandits were looking for him and with the recent event it looked like regular patrols of guards were running thin. He was asked to take care of the issue he indirectly caused. Well son of a bitch, I guess it is mission time. Getting to his feet he would make his way over to his closet to grab his designated combat gear. A black asymmetric shirt and simple black pants. Stepping back to the window he would open it all the way, no need to let his parents know. With a strong push of his legs, he was off.

The night sky was polluted by the city's light and only a few stars could be seen weekly glimmering in the night sky. He was rarely out at this late as he was normally expected to be in bed shortly after sunset. Traversing the roof tops of the residential districts he woul make his way back towards the area where his clone had found the bandits the first time, he was assuming the thugs had a base situated in that area, and they were looking for him. With a grin on his face the boy knew he simply needed to make himself known to them. Stopping on the second story of an abandoned storefront the young Yamanaka would make a series of hand seals before charging chakra into his hands. Swinging them wide before slamming them together he would summon forth a current of electrical energy that he would use to fill the night sky with sharp blue lightning. He pushed the bolts as far as he could, but fortunately for these bandits his Ninjutsu was not very strong.

A few moments passed and he could hear the sounds of hasted movement pushing through the back alleys not too far from here. He was sure the bandits associated him with lightning and if these thugs were looking for him, they would probably be checking out every lightning style ninjutsu they could find. Moving towards the direction of where the commotion was coming from it wouldn't take long before Shusuke found himself a duo of bandits. These idiots looked tougher than the previous thugs he had encountered, but he knew looks didn't matter.

Dropping out of the streets Shusuke was already on the offensive by the time they saw him. "Well, well, well... What we here?" As Shusuke spoke, the young Genjutsuist would begin by filling their ears with the sound of crackling electrical energy. "Heard your boss is looking for me? What a shame he sent you two to track down a child." He started laughing at the two grown men. As the men started yelling at Shusuke they pulled weapons on the small child. "Oh, is it that kind of game? So be it." Pulling his blade from his sheath his blade began to surge with electrical energy as his eyes began to burn as pure storm chakra erupted from every inch of his body. A single hand seal was formed. "Wind Style: Shredding Touch!" Rippling blades of sharp air formed around his blade. A grin came to his face, this was why he was a ninja.

A few moments passed as the young Shinobi stood over the two adults before him. They were beaten and they were bloodied but they were alive. Breathing heavily Shusuke would point his blade at the two henchmen, as illusory beasts stood behind him. "Take a message back to your boss for me. If he has a problem with me, he needs to come here himself. Otherwise stay out of my village."

Shusuke received a summoning by a man named Itsuki, and from the tone in his letter Shusuke assumed this was the leader of this little bandit group that had been causing a ruckus in the village lately. It was probably just a little over a week since the young Yamanaka beat the snot out of the two bandits and sent them in their way to find their boss, so he was glad to finally hear back from him. They were to meet just out of town, which was preferred for Shusuke as he didn't want to cause any more collateral damage after the last couple of missions because he learned the hard way that the payment for the damages were taken from his payments. Which was horse shit if you asked him.

Making his way to the meeting point the young boy was wearing a simple grey training suit with a tabard that was associated with his clan. His blond hair fluttering in the evening's breeze and a smile was on his face. This was hopefully going to be a promising fight, he has yet to actually been able to push his talents to their limits.

Standing before the young boy was a mammoth of a man. He was well over six feet tall and must have weighed three times as much as Shusuke. Good. He doesn't look like he will go down easily. Shusuke reached out and pointed a finger at the man. "You must be Itsuki, ya? I hope you're tougher than you lackeys or this fight is going to be boring as hell." He chuckled some to himself. Honestly if the cass with Daiji let him learn anything it was to not underestimate your opponents nor overestimate your own strengths. Should he had called for Shishiwakamaru and Haniki? Probably, but this was something he started and he felt like he needed to finish by himself.

"You must be that little son of a bitch that keeps getting in our way. Today is the last day your little fucking face is going to get to be in other people's business! Time to die kid!" And as he spoke the mountain of a man began to surge with chakra energy. Shusuke grinned as he raised his hand and conjured a series of chains that were connected to his hand. "You sure about that big shot? If your friends were any indicator of the type of person you are then I'm not too worried."

And with that they were off. Shusuke started off strong, slinging out a series of Genjutsu towards the unarmed man. The sounds of voices would begin to echo through his mind and the feeling of his very own body would begin to grow heavy. Darting forward the young Yamanaka would begin his attack by summoning out his Illusory Hook and began his assault. A quick flick of his fingers, mimicking the movements he had seen Shishiwakamaru's movements to cause the small hook to flutter and fly across the room like his peer's puppet back in class. A solid hit! Shusuke's face shifted into a grin as the hook caught the man's shoulder, and with a quick snap of his fingers and the tear of flesh could be felt, despite the weapon being an illusion. This apparently wasn't enough to deter this mountain of a man though.

58a7c0c9967c372acd2ad9a5e5ea22bf23f50543r1-500-260_hq.gif

Before Shusuke knew what was going to happen the bandit captain was on top of him. A solid connection from the man's punch caused the young Yamanaka to blast backwards as he could feel the very bone in his arm fracture slightly. He instantly realized the situation he was in. This wasn't going to be an easy fight and he mostly likely was out matched. Jumping back the boy threw up a handseal. "Ninja Art: Verse of Darkness!" As the words slipped from his lips the man named Itsuki would see the world turn black. Then before a second past the Illusory Cantrip which caused the bleeding of an enemy to increase was laid on Itsuki as well. These illusions didn't seem to affect him too much as the man kept up the onslaught. Hand to hand combat was something he has trained in, but he definitely wasn't as strong as Haniki was with this type of martial arts.

Regardless of his peer's strengths he needed to end this soon. A series of punched and kicks were traded before Shusuke found an opening to distance himself from the man. This was a fight Shusuke was going to lose if he kept this up so he had to pull out his final plans to stop this man as much as he could. Switching to his Illusory Dagger chain he sent out the blade to strike the man, piercing his chest. "Forbidden Art: Soul Destruction Seal!" Shusuke yelled out, making this technique up on the spot. "With this technique, if we make contact in the next seven days... we both die. This is a forbidden jutsu passed down by the Yamanaka Clan. I suggest you leave this village less you are willing to risk your very soul."

546053995D12D4E234654702A01714B71134377C

A smile came to his face as he could see this bandit leader hesitate as the illusory chain pulled away from the man's chest, but the dagger portion was no longer visible. "Yo-you're lying..." His voice was slightly hesitant. Shususke grinned and caused his blades to fade from existence before taking a step towards the man. He extended out a hand. "Want to test that theory? I mean what's a week right?" He asked, knowing his Genin Exam was coming up and that afterwards he could get Shishiwakamaru and Haniki out here to help him with this thug. "You must underestimate how willing we shinobi are to put our lives on the line to protect our village." He chuckled as he lied through his teeth.

The stand off lasted for a few minutes before Itsuki took a step backwards. "You do realize this just buys you time, right? I'll be back as soon as this week is over, and I am taking your head before you can pull out this technique again. It took you some time to use it so I am guessing there is a build up. If I just kill you before you can use it, then it won't be a problem." The man laughed as he turned and took a few steps away before lookin over his shoulder back at Shusuke. "You have one week you little shit." Shusuke respectfully grinned back at the man before raising his middle finger to tell the man to fuck off.

It took a few minutes before Shusuke felt like it was safe for him to relax after that fight. Taking his Illusory Cross, he would work on healing his injuries slightly before laughing to himself. How did this man run a group of bandits if he was this stupid? Was it just through his sheer force and fighting prowess. Regardless of the reasoning Shusuke needed to make sure he was ready as it wasn't long before Itsuki would be back. The Yamanaka was also sure that next time Itsuki would be bringing a crew to back him up and Shusuke needed to do the same thing. It was getting a little bit too late out right now to let Daiji-Sensei know, but he was planning on telling his Sensei about the predicament he was in first thing in the morning.

Looking at his hand he took a moment and conjured a small blade in his hand. His spectral arsenal still wasn't quite to the point of being able to use it in combat confidently, but he was getting there. He felt like he was close. He had been practicing with his family's blades but the ability to conjure his own weapons in a moment's notice was the skill he was trying to perfect. Using multiple chains was a great source of practice but he was still far from perfecting his Chimeiarashi Style Taijutsu. He needed to have this technique mastered before he met Itsuki again. He needed to show this man he was more than some weak child. He wanted to not only prove to Daiji that he was worthy of becoming a shinobi for Konoha, but he felt the need to prove it to Asuka-Sensei and Takeshi-Sama as well. A grin to his face as he clenched his fist to shatter the spectral blade. He knew he could do it.

A week passed and it was finally time for Shusuke to meet up with the bandit captain, Itsuki-Oyakata, to finalize their confrontation. He took this time to train and learn how to better use his Chimeiarashi abilities that allowed him to manifest weapons from his mind. Leaving the village to a nearby outcropping the young Yamanaka stood ready to fight. His arms and feeling better and he felt mostly healed, and it wasn't long after that the large man arrived with the same arrogant grin on his face as he did previously. "It is about time we settle this." As he spoke five large daggers began to apparate around the young Yamanaka with spectral chains leading back to Shusuke's hand. "I hope you have made peace with your loved ones because you aren't leaving here alive." And with that he darted in ready for the fight. "What an arrogant little child. Your illusions won't work this time" Shusuke laughs as he extends his arm and like series of snakes the chains fly forwards and slither through the air at Itsuki-Oyakata. Hissing with steam the young boy would use his Armigar Arsenal to send a series of simple strikes into the large man before breaking the chains off using the Disposable Impalement he had learned recently. Darting back the large man seemed to not be impeded by the attacks, so Shusuke knew he had to try something else. Catching the ground firmly he darted off to the side leaving behind an illusory clone which pulled out a few kunai and darted forwards at the man.

Landing nearby the young boy started to make a series of handseals to begin weaving his illusions. Causing his enemy to go blind and deaf was the first step but he knew that illusions alone would not be enough. Summoning another weapon into his hand he pulls out his Twilight Venom which has been strengthened with his Nightshade Extract. Like before the series of blades began to duplicate and surrounded the boy. Looking up he could hear Itsuki-Oyakata shouting. "Fucking twerp! I will enjoy smashing your skull into powder with my bare hands!" The young Yamanaka steadied his breath. When it came to physical strength this man was far stronger than Shusuke but he knew that he could out wit him.

Pushing himself out of the dubris he sent his illusory blades spinning around him like the rings on distant planets. Flipping into the air to flip over the large man he made a series of cuts and blows to his skin before wrapping around behind him to continue the Steelwing Strike maneuver he had been practicing. This was until Shusuke realized how confident he was getting. Itsuki-Oyakata turned quickly with a sweeping kick catching Shusuke off guard and causing his body to loose connection with the ground before a heavy blow was struck into this gut, causing the young Yamanaka to be sent soaring back through the nearby trees, shattering one of the trunks on his trajectory. Hitting and sliding across the ground Shusuke could feel internal bleeding and his lower ribs where fractured. Taking a staggered breath he realized instantly that the Genjustu he was concentrating on faded as he nearly lost consciousness. As he looked up the man was grinning before him.

"Well well well... What do we have here?" The man cracked his knuckles before beginning his way to Shusuke slowly. "This is the difference between the spoiled little shits like you who live in luxury within the walls of Konohagakure. You have never gone without. You have never faced true adversity. You privileged fucking child. Did you really think a kid your age would be able to stop someone as powerful as me? Didja?! The absolute arrogance. The n-"

Then silence.

The world turned upside down for the man in an instant.

That was when the illusions faded.

Shusuke was no longer laying on the ground, but rather Itsuki-Oyakata noticed the child's legs resting on his shoulders for a bried second as Shusuke finished snapping the man's neck from atop his frame.

"Yes I am privileged. I am from the Yamanaka Clan, and our illusios always work." Flipping off of the man his body collapsed onto the ground with a heavy thud. Raising his hand to conjure a weapon through his Chimeiarashi abilities he dug a large burial site for the massive man and proceeded to push him into it. He took a few items off of the man to prove that he completed the mission before covering him with soil and heading back to the village to get paid for this job. Dusting off some of the dubris from this fight Shusuke let out a sigh. He guessed this means he was ready for his graduation exam after all.

Shusuke has been assigned a mission where he was informed that "A suspected group of smugglers have been tracked down to their safe house. Investigate, and if necessary, apprehend the suspects." This was the kind of work he was excited for. Wearing his simple black cloak the young boy pulled his long hair back into a ponytail to keep it out of his face. Donning a feline like white mask he was dressed in his anbu attire. With a grin under his mask it was time for the young boy to follow the instrutions and directions given to him in order to find these thug. Leaving the house under the darkness of night it was the perfect time to strike.

roof top to roof top the young boy would bound and leap with ease as his speed was improving almost every day. That's what he wanted. To be improving daily. It wouldn't take long him to come to the destination. The safe house was tucked away in the residential districts of the village, more specifically the maple district. This is almost too easy He thought to himself. Placing his hands together to cast out a chakra sensing jutsu he would begin to sense the various life signatures around him. Stepping onto the roof of the building he would activate his Active Camo jutsu that he has perfected while studying to become an ANBU Operative.

Turning nearly invisible, the boy would hop down from the rooftop to land beside one of the windows with a soft thud. Placing his back gainst the wall he would slowly lean over to look in the window to see what sort of criminals were inside. Scanning for a few moments he realized that there were maybe three or four fully grown men and women in there. Placing his hands together he raised them in front of himself and gazed at one of the women before casting his Mind Possession Jutsu. His body would spark into invisible flames as he activates his Name of the Rose Jutsu to make his physical body vanish from reality.

Shusuke stepped out of the building with a smile on his face and his hand to his ear. "I am requesting a pickup at my coordinates. I found stepped into the safe house location and neutralized any potential threats these thugs offered. Still breathing, don't worry, but they are all tied up with a bow." And with that the young Yamanaka decided to head home for a good night's sleep after a fun and successful mission.

Shusuke was excited to receive his mission today. This was not only an investigation mission, but an assassination mission to help keep the balance of the peoples of the Coffee City and of Konohagakure. He wore a black robe that completely covered his body, hiding any details which could identify who he was, and placed his brand new skull inspired mask onto his face. While he wasn't a fully fledged ANBU Operative yet, he still had the intent to act as one while he was on missions. The last thing he wanted was to be seen while still in training and his identity is known for his entire ANBU career. Unlike some of his peers in the AiT Program, he was taking this seriously. He donned his pack for the over night trip he made his way through the Greater Fire Country and found his way to the city. The city was large and impressive, but he wasn't here to sight see.

As the sun was setting and the moon was high the natural light of the night sky was drowned in the artificial beacon's glow that was this city's technological wonders. As if channeling strong light jutsu over the entire area, the electrical prowess of this city was powerful. While the Konoha Corporation had near equivalent technological advancements it was always wonderful to see how different cities and states used their similar technology.

Finding a dark alley, the young boy took out the note he had that kept all of the mission details on it. He verified his location with the street names and local shop names. A grin came to his face, he was approaching his prey.

Making a few hand seals the young boy would activate his Active Camo jutsu which would allow his form to begin to fade from view, and he would channel chakra into his steps so that when his feet touched the ground they would be silent. Perching on a nearby light post he would wait until he found someone that matched the description of the target. Ten minutes passed. Twenty minutes passed.. An hour passed by and still no visual confirmation. He was starting to get impatient but he kept a steady breath and did his best to keep his nerves calm.

It was about half way to the second hour that he finally found his target and had visual confirmation. Closing his eyes and activating his Chakra Sense jutsu he would look at this man's chakra signature, despite it being incredibly weak. This was the target.

Standing to his full height on this light post the boy's physical body would begin to burn into invisible flames as his flesh and blood shifted and became pure chakra. This was his time to strike! 'Ninja Art: Mind Possession Jutsu`

Not just his mind and soul, but his entire body, would be propelled into this man as he channeled the chakra that now made up his body into the mind of his target. It took just a couple of seconds, but the possession was a success. Shusuke looked down at the bulbous fingers of his new hand, smooth and clean having never done a hard days work in their life. He was in the boy of a smug crime lord that was born into this role, but with a single interaction with Shusuke this lineage was coming to an end.

Taking the man down the same street he was on to avoid immediate suspicion, Shusuke would eventually turn to take him to the more central area of the city where the buildings reached high and the population was dense. He smiled. A few minutes passed, and though he had to keep triggering his mind possession to maintain it's effect, he was able to successfully climb high into this building. Passing the tenth, fifteenth, and finally the twentieth floors. A smug look took to his face as he made his way through the abandoned office space. It was fortunate that it was currently about three or four in the morning, the office staff wouldn't be here for a few more hours. Taking a piece of paper he would take a prick of the man' finger to cause the pour of blood to begin to drip from it. Writing "I am sorry" on the paper before breaking open a window Shusuke was ready.

Breaking the Name of the Rose jutsu caused the young boy to appear beside the man as his senses began to come back to him, but before allowing the target to understand what was happening, Shusuke would give him a gentle shove out of the window. Soft enough as to not cause any physical marks, but strong enough to cause the pompous man to slip and fall out of the window. The few night time travelers would let out a few screams as the body inevitably hit the ground with a sundering slap, but that was no longer Shusuke's concern.

Activating his Active Camo Jutsu again, the boy would begin to dart through the building until he could reach the other side where he would leap out of an already open window and begin to make his flee from the metropolis that was Coffee City. His job was done, and if done well no one would suspect a thing. Leaving the edges of the city's claim, Shusuke would continue to hold his Active Camo jutsu for about thirty minutes into the Greater Fire Country before dropping his jutsu and making his way back to the Village Hidden in the Leaves where he would head to bed and act none the wiser.

Shusuke was stationed at the front gate this particular day. Nothing special was going on as far as he was aware. The coming weekend was to be the Oak Street house cleaning sale, but aside from that he didn't expect much more activity. No real need for any abundance of travellors for what was essentially a yard sale where people sold old items they no longer want. He knew his parent were probabl going to be getting rid of some of his own personal belongings as he longer lives with then. Ever sense he gained the rank of Genin he had been taking as many missions as possible so that he could to afford his own place to live away from his useless family.

Today, while at the gates, Shusuke was dressed in his typical Konoha shinobi attire of his long sleeved jump suit with a flak jacket on top. This would allow Shusuke to blend in with the rest of the shinobi working the gate this morning. `Its such a nice day isn't?` Tamashii's voice rang in Shusuke's head. He still wasn't used to this sensation. Letting out a sigh Shusuke would extend his hand and conjure the Reaper's Scythe that he utilizied often. "If you want to chat come on out so I don't look like I am sitting here talking to myself. It's weird." With his free hand Shusuke would conjure the spirit of Tamashii into his palm before placing it into his scythe, casting his Soul of the Sword jutsu to grant Tamashii a temporary body of his own. As the spirit was summoned into his own body he would stretch out his arms and let out a yawn. "It's nice to be able to stretch every now and then in the sun. Man your head is so dark and gloomy, maybe you should have more walks in the park or something?"

Some time passes and Shusuke listened to Tamashii as he carried on and on talking about how wonderful th breeze felt and how he never realized how nice the butterflies looked when they fluttered through the air. The entire time Shusuke was trying to do his job by checking passports from travelers that entered and left the village gates. It was a slow day, but not every day was filled with adventure. He was a Genin still after all and that often meant he was forced to do the boring jobs within the village gates even when he doesn't feel like it. Today was one of those days. The hours dragged by but one by one as the merchants came and went he knew he was helping the village, no matter how dull and pointless he felt like this job was.

Shusuke received a mission that was out of the ordinary for him. He wasn't expecting to be assigned this himself, and he knew he would have to finish the job. His parents were apparently under investigation of being enemy spies that worked for the Village Hidden in the Frost. He was confused because he knew family members from Konohagakure, meaning his parents were betraying their home village. His brows furrowed. Not only were they weak but they weren't loyal. They were actively working on betraying his home. Shusuke had disliked his parents for a while, mostly due to how useless he found them, but if this was true... If any of this was true, then not only were they betraying his trust, but they were lying to him about their strengths.

Shusuke was sitting in his apartment looking over the scroll that assigned him to investigate his parents. He donned his black cloak and his fractured skull mask as he took on his moniker "Reaper" as he has been referred to as of late. He waited for the sun to set before he would begin his investigation. Leaping out of his window the young boy would trigger his Active Camo Jutsu which allowed him to be nearly undetectable to anyone in passing. Running along rooftops he was curious how these would go, or whether or not he would be able to trust their answers. Shusuke wasn't really trained in interrogation techniques, but he would have to come up with something in order to accomplish what he needed to do. Maybe he wouldn't even bother with the interrogation, after all if there is enough evidence to suspect illegal activity, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to just say they were guilty after all.

As he arrived to the Flower Shop that his parents owned, he knew that if he were to take their lives that meant that Tsukuro would naturally inherit their business, and honestly he thought she would make a better shop kep than a shinobi, despite her being his older sibling. He let out a sigh and triggered his Chakra Sense jutsu and was able to pick up the location and chakra signature of both of his parents. Tsukuro wasn't home, which was fortunate. He didn't want to have to worry about taking care of three of his relatives at once, things might get suspicious then.

Landing in the back patio he looked at the large open space where his family's green house and flower beds rested. He spent much of his younger childhood in this very courtyard practicing his Ninjutsu and Genjutsu with his parents before joining the academy. He wondered if they were spies then. Fast tracking his training to become a spy as well, as who would suspect a small child to betray their village. His mind wondered if his connection with not one, but two, Hokages was the reason he wasn't addressed by his parents. Did Tsukuro know about this? His eyes narrowed as he placed his hand on the back door, if Tsukuro knew about this she would be his next target.

Walking into the back door the young boy would focus his chakra onto his feet so that his steps would not make a single sound. His eyes navigated across the room looking for anything out of the ordinary. His sharingan activated to give him a cleaner line of sight. He grabbed the hilt of the blade he had swiped from a bandit a while back, as he didn't want to trace the weapons used back to himself. He let a steadied breath to calm his nerves. Walking through his house he would look around to try and find any incriminating evidence. He didn't see any initially, but that doesn't mean it is not there.

"Hello?" His father's voice chimed out. Shusuke quickly dropped low to the ground and the scent of the Corpse Flower would begin to fill the air. The raw and wretched smell of rotting flesh filled the air. He could sense his father's chakra growing and he could see his father starting to perform the handseals for the Chakra Sense Jutsu, acting quick Shusuke sent out an illusory wave of Genjutsu to hit the man to force him to detect a different chakra signature before lunging out from behind the door he was peering from. With a quick and agile leap and bound the young boy was able to quickly insert the dagger into his father's bare chest and puncture his heart from behind. He made sure to not include any poison this time as his family is known for using poison.

As his father's soon to be lifeless form dropped to it's knees he could hear him spitter up blood and have a staggered breath. Twisting the blade sharply, before letting it go he would look back to his parents room. His eyes narrowed. His mother had always been stronger than his father. He placed a hand on the door before feeling an intense drop in temperature of the surrounding area. Ice Style?

A blade of ice would cut through the door the boy was standing at and would shatter against the far wall as Shusuke ducked out of the way. It would appear that his mother was awake. "Hello Shu-kun..." His eyes narrowed. She knew. "Mother. Are the accusation true?" She began to laugh as she opened the door slowly to look down as Shusuke. Her skin rigid with frost. A look on her face stretched across mouth that he had never seen before. "So it is..." The voice came from directly behind her as he used the Stunt Double Jutsu to hide his true location. As he spoke the blade that killed his father was at her throat before slicing through her cold and rigid skin. "If she takes this as a shock... I'll keep an eye on her. I know you cared for her more than me." He took a few steps away before making a small handseal to cause a spark of flames that he dropped into a nearby waste bin. He knew it wouldn't fully burn down the shop and his childhood home, but it would be enough to make it appear as though someone was attempting to hide the evidence. He took a Snapshot of his memories in case they were needed and then he would leave the scene.

Shusuke was given a rather simple assignment really, all he has to do is walk around the village tonight and be on the lookout for anything that may be considered problematic. Apparently the Main Branch Konoha Security patrolman was unable to pick up his shift tonight so Shusuke, being a Chuunin in the public eye, was to take on this role and fulfill the duty as a visible guard. As this was a Main Branch mission Shusuke decided it probably wasn't ideal for him to travel under his mask and moniker, but instead wore the traditional Chuunin uniform of the blud jumpsuit and his flak jacket. His head band was tied around his head and his hair was pulled back into a ponytail.

As Shusuke began his patrol much of the town was still alive and filled with lights. People were walking down the streets with friends, sharing drinks on restaurant patios, poorly singing karaoke without a care in the world. The young boy smiled softly to himself. The odds of his life being a happy one like these citizens were low. He was a shinobi and it was his job to protect these people at the cost of his life if needed. He could hear the laughter and see the warm embraces. That was something he felt like his life was missing. That warm companionship of actual friends. Shishiwakamaru has been caught up with his medical treatments, Haniki was buy at the restaurant, Akio was focused with his Medical Training, Kiriyomi seemed to always be on missions as well, and Keniwa... Well Keniwa still acted afraid of Shusuke and seemed to avoid the Yamanaka child as much as possible.

As the night continued the young boy would see the groups of friends head down the streets and help each other in their drunken stupor get home safely. Shusuke was glad that they had the kinship he could watch as they did their best to truly care for each other. The passage of time was a slow one tonight as all he could think about was his place in this village. He had graduated three years ago and in his short time as a Shinobi he made it all the way to Chuunin by serving as an ANBU in Training operative, but that meant he spent most of his time working and none of it for personal time.

As Shusuke could see the sun begin to rise he was glad that his night went well with no real issue to worry about. The only thing that has been on his mind was the fact that he needed to spend more time getting to know his peers and a little less time trying to focus on being the strongest shinobi in the room. He could already feel that his skills were improving as quickly as the other children, and so instead of trying become stronger than them, maybe he should just focus on the skills at hand.
