Divisions
There are two categories for medic operations: Hospital (inter-village work) and Field (outer-village work). Hospital work is more of the day to day stuff usually done within the hospital. These divisions are research, surgery, and general practice. There are Leaders in charge of the outer-village work, however, the Hospital operations report directly to their respective Heads. Field work is more mission based in nature. The field divisions are as follows:

Ranks
Main ranks
These are the main ranks that apply to all med-nin which reflect your overall level within the branch.
Med-nin in Training:
Given to a new member of the Medical Branch and available to anyone who has passed the Academy. Anyone wishing to become a Med-nin starts their career as a MiT unless otherwise decided by the Sennin. When not shadowing a med-nin, trainees undergo rigorous theoretical and testing. Only the best and brightest may make it past.
Med-nin:
The tired workhorses of the medical branch, Med-nin make up the bulk of the hospital and research staff. They deal with most injuries within the hospital, support their division leaders in research, train MiT, attend missions with other ranks or in some cases run their own sub-division.
Medical Chiefs:
At the forefront of their peers within their specialities, Medical Chiefs have the strength and ability to lead their fellow healers. Medical Chiefs may run their own division of the Medical branch and are often make important decisions beyond their research.
Medical Sennin:
The leader of the Medical Branch and second in command only to the Raikage. The Medical Sennin is the best of the best.
PC Medical Chiefs/Med-nin and their official IC specialty positions
Every specialty, or 'field' as they are called interchangeably, has a sub-department dedicated to it. There's an anatomy department, a bloodline department, a chemistry department, etc that fall under the six main divisions. There are more than enough positions for every one to eventually lead a section if they choose.
Titles:
A Medical chief may create for themselves a title based on their speciality or chosen field prior to becoming a Chief, Medical Chief titles must be requested upon becoming a medical chief. You can be almost anything you can imagine, but keep in mind that your position may or may not still have to report to someone besides the Sennin depending on what has already been created. These positions depend on who is working at the hospital at the time. Also NPC's can be ousted from their positions should someone want their position.
Medical Chiefs may only hold one major leadership position (i.e. the six biggest divisions), and may not change without permission from the Sennin.
Med-nin Specialists:
Med-nin Specialists, while not chiefs, may also hold a 'Head' position over a comparably smaller department (I.e. not an entire division) of their choosing (whether it already exists or not), with the Sennin's permission. Ex: Medic specialist Joe is a med-nin and also the head of a smaller morgue as there are several morgues in the hospital. He still answers to Kogan though. Ex (2): Medic Joe is a poison specialist and head of the smaller poison department. His job is to study all forms of poisons, then either make antidotes for them or create new (IC) poisons no one has ever seen before.
No Mednin Specialist can hold onto more than three leadership positions at one time without permission from the Sennin.
Sesshou:
Among the Medical Chiefs one is selected by the Sennin to obtain the rank of Sesshou. While not directly over any other Medical Chief, this person assists in some of the Sennin's regular duties and becomes regent of the Medical Branch in the Sennin's absence. They are also the Sennin's personal nomination for succession of his/her title upon death or retirement.
Note: that this title does not mean the Sesshou is guaranteed to be next Sennin, they are simply the seen as most fit to be next in line.

Treating Injured Shinobi
General Treatment:
As Shinobi and Kunoichi, our characters are sometimes injured on missions. In order to provide more interaction with all branches, mission participants who RP a post-mission hospital thread may be rewarded.
- If a shinobi arrives to be treated they must have recently returned from a mission
- If a shinobi hasn’t recently returned from a mission then they will receive treatment but will not be allowed to leave until they have received questioning
Basic Rulings:
- This thread can only be done immediately after a Modded Mission or Team Self-Modded Mission has been completed. A thread must be started within a two day period of the mission itself.
- The user gains payment equal to mission leader bonus of the rank of the mission that the user completed (Successful or Unsuccessful).
- Mission Leaders gain an additional bonus, this bonus would be the mission leader bonus once more.
- The Mednin receives pay equal to the Mission Leader Bonus.
- If a Med-Nin treats more than one player from the same mission, the player only gains rewards from the first treated.
- A Med-Nin may only be rewarded for treating mission participants once per week, and no more than one post-mission Medical Thread can be run at a time for rewards.
- A Med-Nin may designate a Medical Thread as a free RP topic and receive no reward.
- Important: At least single Council Member must look over the thread before the reward can be approved of.

Kinjutsu and Other Medical Threads:
Kinjutsu threads can take as many posts as are required to hit the required word count.
The mednin involved must have a Kinjutsu related medical speciality to perform these threads.
Code of Conduct:
1. Loss of life is permissible, failure to fight the loss of life is not
2. No medic ninja shall ever stand on the front lines.
3. No medic ninja shall ever die until they are the last of their platoon.
4. Only those medic ninja who've become a Master Combat Medic are permitted to discard the above-mentioned laws.
Requisites for PromotionMission Point Values
Tutored/Tutoring - 1 Point
D - 1 Point (0.5 Solo-Self Modded)
C - 1.5 Points (1 Point Solo-Self Modded)
B - 2 Points (1.5 Points Solo-Self Modded)
A - 3 Points (2 Solo-Self Modded)
S - 5 Points (4 Solo-Self Modded)
Events - Points may be granted based on what occurred in the event. The number of points is up to the Sennin.
Failed (non-selfmod) missions give half the point value but will yield no more than 2 points (for higher ranked missions). Failed Team Self -mod missions give half the point value if a 1500wc minimum is met. Events may also award points on a case by case basis which the Sennin will decide upon. When requesting an exam, link the missions and events that you'd like to count towards your requirements. Any other Branch that wishes to change into Medical must start as a MiT no matter what their current ranking in their own Branch is.
Rank Attainment Requirements
Medical in Training (MiT)
- 2 Passed Classes/Tutors or Any Rank Above Student
- OOC D-Rank
- 3 Mastered Medical Jutsu D Rank or Above
Medical Ninja (Med Nin)
Meets requirements of a Genin and...
- BL or CA obtained
- 6 Mission Points (total)
- OOC B-Rank reached
- Minimum 1 OOC months spent as a MiT
Medical Department Chief (Med Chief)
Meets requirements of a Chuunin and...
- 12 Mission Points (total)
- OOC A-Rank reached
- Minimum 2 OOC months spent as a Medical Team Member
- Points towards promotion requirements are accumulated throughout your career from Genin onward, meaning that points gained as a Genin towards becoming a Chuunin also count towards the requirements for eventually becoming a Jounin. Once meeting the requirements, an exam must be passed to earn Medical in Training or Medical Ninja. The final rank is granted by their peers via other Med Chiefs (2 or More) or the Sennin after a simple meeting.
- Rare Talent: Due to their lingering rarity in the shinobi world, Medical Ninjas that go to complete a mission under the Main Branch are given extra compensation to themselves and those that protect them. A completed Modded Mission yields x2 the amount of points of rank B-S for them and their accomplices.
Medical Branch Specialties
How to gain a speciality:
Any medic can specialise in any attribute of medical knowledge. Specialities are required to advance as a Medical Ninja, and impact the speciality position you may take later. There are five levels to a speciality, Untrained, Novice, Experienced, and Mastered and Prime with all specialities defaulting as Untrained. Each level of speciality requires a roleplay and may be done through several methods:
- in a single post,
- over multiple posts
- In missions or other threads practising your field.
- with another medic who is also training in the same field as you
- with a shinobi already trained in the field you want.
For each level (excluding Prime), a shinobi must first post a roleplay detailing a duration of time where they trained and received their level of knowledge.Requirements are as follows:
- Untrained to Novice: 400 word count
- Novice to Experienced: 600 word count
- Experienced to Mastered: 800 word count
- Prime can only be given by the Sennin
In the case of two shinobi training in the same field AND the same thread, both shinobi must reach their speciality word count.
In the case of a shinobi training under a medic already trained in the field they want, the tutor may help their student advance two levels as long as both reach a word count equal to the combined word count requirement -100 words. Ex. Joe Ninja trains under his teacher Omni Ninja in the Bloodline speciality. Without prior knowledge he moves from Untrained to Experienced in the thread. 600wc + 400wc - 100wc = 900wc to have advanced.
Once you write a roleplay attempting to learn something and pm the Mednin Sennin or Sesshou who will read, approve and give you your level.
Suggestions:
For novice level: role play your medic reading about a field over the course of at least two weeks to a month and only memorising their knowledge without any testing or practical application of said their knowledge along the way.
For experienced level: role play your medic doing a more detailed study of a field over the course of three months and testing their knowledge either written or orally along the way.
For mastered level: role play your medic doing a more detailed study of a field over the course of six months and actually practising what they learned along the way.
Note: The only IC requisites to learning a field is to portray learning a field accurately. While you don't have to wait several months Out of Character, please keep in mind that it does take months to learn a new field at experienced and mastered levels. So don't forget to show your character progressing in their knowledge of a subject over the course of the post. It is encouraged to edit your character history to reflect your tutelage. So continuity wise, please act as if you had been learning it for large period of time. For higher grades, Rp testing and practising your knowledge. Its okay to Rp making mistakes and failing once or twice while learning in the post.
Note that Medical Chief and the Medical Sennin can approve specialities to the Experienced level. Only the Medical Sennin may approve specialities to the Master level.
Quick vocab:
- Specialist: A physician whose practice is limited to a few particular branch of medicine or surgery. A medic is given this IC title when they have mastered three or more fields. This is the highest rank a med-nin can receive and while still under a chief in terms of authority, this title holds power over all other regular med-nins and MiTs.
- Tutor: a shinobi already trained, at experienced / mastered level, in one or more of the fields below and is teaching a trainee. (Note: tutor must have experienced / mastered level in a field they teach, to be able to roleplay teaching that speciality to another shinobi. Also, a tutor can only attempt to teach a trainee up to their current level. Ex: a biology tutor (experienced level) can only try to teach a trainee to experienced level, not mastered level. Either the tutor becomes mastered first, then continues to teach the trainee OR the trainee tries to teach themselves to mastered.)
- Trainee: a shinobi training in a field and is being taught by a mentor.
List of fields:

- First Aid *
- Herbalism *
- Medical Combat Training *
- Medical Research
- Medical Tutor * (Note: this reduces further WC training requirements by 100 words for themselves indefinitely and anyone they're training with for that one post. Gained by teaching an academy class, or by tutoring a shinobi(s) thoroughly in at least 2 separate fields.)
- Psychology
- Emergency Surgery
- General Surgery *
- Kinjutsu Surgery * (Note: experienced level required to be able to role play giving a kinjutsu to another shinobi)

- Contains notes for certain specialties with *:
In alphabetical order...
- Bloodlines (the medic is able to identify and possibly treat various hereditary bloodline trait disorders as well as any medical issues associated with a clan's supposed genetic disposition (clan stereotypes). Example of bloodline trait disorder: a kaguya with scoliosis (link), a Hyuuga or Uchiha with vision problems. Example of associated medical issue brought on by genetic disposition (clan stereotypes): a Nara with anemia b/c of their laziness, an Akimichi with diabetes b/c of their eating habits, etc.
- Anatomy (includes full knowledge of Gynecology (link), Andrology (link) & Urology (link) )
- Chakra System ( share the following skills. possessing either skill includes knowledge of deep tissue massage therapy and Acupuncture therapy. Each therapy grants the user a precise and intimate knowledge of the human body, which includes all its weaknesses and strengths. By second nature, the user knows the locations of pressure points and key chakra junctions and can thus free up a patient's chakra system if it has been block. For example, a hyuuga uses the gentle fist to block your chakra, then a medic w/ this skill can unblock them Rp wise, not B-mod wise.)
- Chemistry (includes full knowledge of pharmacology. You can Rp making medicine in prescription bottles.)
- First Aid (includes CPR)
- Herbalism (used for battlefield medicine. Use your mortar and pestle to make all natural medicine in the field.)
- Medical Combat Training (gained through both Rp battles and b-mod fights. Allowed to use previous fights as experience)
- Medical Tutor (Note: this reduces further WC training requirements by 100 words for themselves indefinitely and for anyone they're training with. Gained by teaching an academy class, or by tutoring a shinobi(s) thoroughly in at least 2 separate fields.)
- General Surgery (includes field surgery)
- Kinjutsu Surgery (Note: experienced level required to be able to roleplay giving a kinjutsu to another shinobi)
Specialist and Prime Specialities:
Prime Specialists are members of the Medical Branch who have been awarded for their unique character development and excellent role-play skills. They are highly recognised individuals within the branch and have full control over what happens to the speciality. Once established by the Sennin as a Prime Specialist, the specialised field falls into the Prime Specialist’s complete control.
Prime Specialities: These are specialities so great or unique in their power, that if passed to the wrong hands they could tip the scales of power within the country. Since the study of Kinjutsu are legal in Kumogakure, general specialities related to the field are not considered Prime Specialities.
Rules:
- Only the Medical Sennin can give out the title of Prime Specialist
- Player cannot ‘request’ for the position of Prime Specialist. This is strictly an award for creative RP given at the Sennin’s discretion. However, if another player (of any branch) feels that a mednin's creative role-play should be recognized, then they can be nominated by the other player for the Medical Sennin to review.
- Once given, only the player who created the specialty controls how the specialty is taught. The original Prime Specialist can only teach another once they've achieved the rank of 'Mastered' in the specialty.
- Teaching your specialty to others requires an IC thread with the Sennin for approval. Failure to obtain approval is strictly prohibited and will result in IC consequences succinct with insubordination.
-Only the Head Prime Specialist may teach the specialty. The Head must have the rank of master to teach, but individual study of it can continue once the student has reached novice rank. (Example: If the current Head dies, all of their students will be able to continue their studies to master rank without the Head to teach them.)
- If you character dies (or the player goes inactive) without passing on their knowledge, the specialty dies with the player. The specialty becomes a ‘Forgotten’ Prime Specialty.
-Alternatively, a 300-word post providing the basis for another character to learn the Prime Specialty when the Head Prime Specialist is gone will have the specialty become a ‘Lost’ Prime Specialty. Be warned that learning this way without approval from the Sennin in this sense is dangerous. RP with caution and creativity for the novice rank to be approved.
- Outside of 'Lost Prime Specialties' requirements, WC requirements for Prime Specialties are the same as regular Medical Specialties.
Current Prime Specialists:
