Chiyoko heard of the lady who is the head of the Byakko clan, how could she not? The Byakko clan, like the Aikayume, where dominantly female and it meant whoever sits as the head was someone female and significant. Chiyoko was familiar with both sides, but never actually personally had an audience with either heads, which scared her. What if she messes up? What if she puts a bad impression into Lady Byakko's mind? What if she is denied being a Byakko? Chiyoko stopped in her tracks to the room where she was told to meet her, right at her door.
Chiyoko was afraid to knock and request entry into the room. Chiyoko was afraid that she might see things a ten year old should not, like a severe punishment or something more disgusting. Her hairs stood at their ends at the thought. Chiyoko lifted her hands, then puts them down. The girl repeats, and fails. And she repeats, to fail again. Chiyoko sat down right in front of the door with her hands over her head. Chiyoko was very afraid of possibly every negative outcome that might come from the head of the Byakko clan. Chiyoko whimpered then shot up from the ground and try to knock. The girl sat back down again, she could not do it. The girl was used to someone opening the doors for her. Chiyoko gave up pretty much at this point.

In this study, it was quiet and often times, too quiet for Lady Yanshi as she usually used it to catch up on her reading materials or to continually perfect her wedding vows for the day that she officially would marry her husband, Byakko Kyuji. It was true that her and her husband had been married in the eyes of their great lord, but the village still officially did not see the two of them as husband and wife since they never had a wedding nor filled out the proper paperwork to make it official. Someday down the road, it might finally become a reality but it certainly would not seem to be that way until things settled down among the Toraono Clan as a whole and her husband not working himself down to illness like he was known to do.
