History
Mei and her twin sister were born within the walls of Sunagakure, but both of their parents were immigrants, missionaries who traveled the world providing both physical and spiritual relief where ever it was needed. Once the twins were born, the couple settled down, allowing the girls to live a normal, albeit mildly displaced, life. From an early age Mei took after her father, a swordsman of some renown who had used his talents to keep both his wife and other faithful they traveled with safe. As such, Mei quickly learned the basics of brawling and fencing. Mei enjoyed sharing her father's art, and grew to love the blade more than anything else in the world. As she grew, Mei's prowess with the blade only increased. Obviously, it was only a matter of time before she drew the attention of Sunagakure's shinobi military. When an academy teacher saw Mei's talent, the child was immediately recommended to the academy. Seeing an opportunity to improve and test her fighting skills through a shinobi career, Mei enthusiastically accepted the offer to join Suna's finest.
Mei's progress through the academy has been somewhat awkward, while she has natural talent, she is more prone to pick fights with the other students than actually show up for class. Despite this, she has managed to keep herself focused enough to preform acceptably in her academic pursuits. At this rate, she will graduate any day now....
... and may God help us all when that day arrives. She may turn out to be the fiercest fighter Suna has ever had, a great asset to the village if only she can be reliably pointed at the bad guys.
