The sun shone brightly as it always seemed to do in Wind Country as a small boy, brown of hair with eyelashes that would smite the heart of any old woman, strolled through the bustling streets of Soon's Haven. Having spoken with some meatbags…er people, Mikki had found out the location of probably the bestest weapon maker in the region, and, armed with this knowledge, some rare metals, and a bucketload of precious gems, he now wound his way through the narrow passageways in search of him.
As he approached the small shop of the bestest weapon maker, Mikki couldn't contain his excitement. He had been tasked with a very important mission – to convince the weapon maker to use his forge to create a weapon. A weapon just for him to be exact, one that reflected himself! Mikki had heard stories of this weapon maker and his legendary skills, and he knew that he was the only one who could help him create the weapon he needed. As he entered the shop, he was greeted by the tinkling of metal on metal and the smell of burning coals. The weapon maker, a tall man with muscular arms and a bushy mustache, looked up from his workbench and eyed Mikki curiously. 'Well, well, what have we here? A young boy in my shop? What business do you have here, young one?'
Mikki stepped forward and explained his mission, telling the weapon maker the whole story about how he needed to work with him in the forge to complete his magical quest of awesome. The weapon maker listened intently, his eyes widening with each detail. After Mikki finished, there was a moment of silence as the weapon maker considered his request. Then, with a determined look on his face, the weapon maker looked at Mikki.
“Well young man thats the finest bunch of bullshit I’ve ever heard!”, he guffawed. Mikki, feeling rather annoyed that his hands were no longer buzzsaws at this moment, puffed out his little chest.
“Well - its true! See - I have a weapon like that in my bag! Come look!”
The weapon maker, someone annoyed at Mikki, decided that he would have a look in the boys bag if it meant the kid would shut up and leave. Looking down into the recess of the bag, the weapon maker caught the scent of something… sweet. Nice. Comforting. He started to blink as the bag was placed over his head, with only a small opening for ‘fresh air’ to escape. The lullaby powder had done its work, although now poor Mikki had to make the weapon by himself.
As he entered the forge, Mikki was mesmerised by the sight of the blazing fire. It was pretty, in the ‘can burn stuff’ kinda way. Taking out the storage scroll from his back pocket, he unfurled it causing its contents to spill over the floor. Several chunks of rare metals… diamonds the size of fists… it was a kings ransom he had acquired in Arcadia but for now they were simply raw materials.
The room was hot as the small boy started the process. Despite his age, Mikki had been trained as a Battlesmith, and his expertise with weaponsmaking was astounding. Given his ability to ‘talk’ with the materials helped, as he was able to strengthen them beyond their normal limits. Mikki poured his heart and soul into the creation of what appeared to be… a chainsaw. It was truly a work of art, and Mikki couldn't wait to see it in action. Finally, after what seemed like days, he stepped back and looked at his weapon. Technically it was a puppet, full of strange traps and abilities (including a bottle opener), but mostly it was a diamond-sharp chainsaw. Mikki could feel the magic pulsing through the weapon as he picked it up and swung it around.
Mikki beamed with excitement knowing how much damage he could do to the many, many meatbags that deserved it. With the chainsaw-puppet in hand, Mikki set off on his adventure, determined to face any challenges that came his way.
—----------------
“What the fuck happened”, the weaponsmith said, hours later when he woke up. It would seem that someone had used his forge, but the distress turned into a smile as he saw the large ruby that sat on his counter. Mikki wasnt all bad after all, but dont tell anyone!
