Being the son of a violent, pill-popping addict, Saburo was used to taking a hit that he wasn't supposed to defend against. That being said, the more hits he took in this manner, the tougher he found himself becoming. Now that he has grown older, it seems that the lessons from his childhood never did quite desert him. Now whenever he finds himself bloodied up a bit, he feels stronger for it. It might all be in his mind, but a person's thoughts are indeed the most dangerous hidden power of them all. Hell, Saburo almost wants to be nearly dead.

Battling is a hobby for some, but for Saburo it is a way of life. He tries to escape his destiny, but everywhere he turns it seems some fight is just on the verge of breaking out. Over the years, he's learned to accept this simple fact and he found that even if you are not a part of the fight, you can still learn a thing or two from it. For instance, if you see enough people getting mugged, you learn to up your own situational awareness. So Saburo continuously takes whatever lessons he can gleam from encounters and works it into his own combat. By this point, reactions just become instinctual.

Fighting as much as the Kaguyas are prone to, one can become really adept at building defenses, so it should come as no surprise that Saburo was excellent at dodging attacks when he wasn't just extra tanky in general, thanks to his bone armor. It got to a point where the boy was actually better at defending against attacks than he was at attacking itself. Some tended to forgo accuracy to ensure a higher dodge, but for Saburo the trick came from mastering the art of the dodge so well that he didn't have to forego his accuracy even half as much as the next guy down the line.

Saburo was never one to believe in the power of genjutsu users. He chose instead to believe that those that messed with people's minds in such a cowardly manner were cheating the grand design. Men were made to influence the minds of others not by sinking their chakra deep into someone's mind, but by their day-to-day actions. That doesn't mean that Saburo was a fool when it came to the machinations of genjutsu users. No, instead it would be discovered that Saburo's mental capacities were so great that he could usually sense when someone tried poking around his brain, should any foolish genjutsu user so happen to try.

Being born rather small for your standard Kaguya, Saburo had always chose to remain light on his feet rather than worry about his lack of bulky musculature. That was why he typically always got the first hit off in a fight; most people relied on some grand gesture to end a fight quick whereas Saburo knew he could dodge just such attacks, so he focused on his speed. Typically, when the young Kaguya found himself in a fight, his opponent usually found themselves struck at the word go. It was just the boy's way... he might float like a butterfly more often than not, but when he stung it was fast and it was fearsome.

When the insides of your body have a habit of becoming one with your outsides, it only becomes natural to learn a thing or two about what exactly belongs inside there. This becomes even more crucial when you realize that part of knowing about the human anatomy is knowing which parts harbor the most damaging potential. Saburo had no intention of ever becoming a medic, so the healing of broken bones was of no consequence to him, especially as a Kaguya. Knowing that a human could survive with one kidney was cool to learn, sure... but knowing that a kidney punch could knock the wind out of an opponent had a far more practical application.

Bones aren't typically made to rip through muscle, fat, and flesh. Usually it's something of a hot mess when one finds their skeleton just won't stay inside their body. For Kaguyas, however, it's simply a Tuesday. They have lived with this ability for so long that their natural healing ability is through the roof. Saburo, of course, is no exception to this. He has probably lost more blood in a single battle than an entire convent who just received a synced up visit from Aunt Flo and yet he has yet to die from any wounds bestowed upon him. Some would say he was lucky to have been born into the Kaguya clan due to this, but he's not too sure. Would he have needed his incredible healing powers had he been born a simple Yamanaka florist?

Saburo was never very good at utilizing genjutsu. It wasn't that he had no natural aptitude for the jutsus in question, it was just that he believed them to be akin to taking the easy way out. So rather than take that easy path to success, Saburo chose instead to focus on identifying those cheats in question that would mess with the mind in wholly unnatural ways. He would decipher how one goes about placing a mind in a vise and then he would do his damnedest to break the vise grips open. To do so, however, he had to train his mind in the ways of defense. Slowly but surely, Saburo got the feeling that he could identify most genjutsu used against him. He just wasn't yet strong enough to identify those cowards that would slip into his mind in stealth. That was okay by the boy, though. When identifying the problem at hand proved to be too much, he'd just destroy the threat itself.

Kaguyas move quick, much like the wind. Saburo noticed that certain similarities existed between him and that particular element that extended much further than an aptitude for speed, however. He was also liable to cut a fool, much like a stinging wind can cut through your defenses. He could be invisible when he wanted to be thanks to his criminal background and he had a tendency to push people around if they got in his way. It only seemed natural to pick up a few wind-based jutsu, in other words, and ever since then he's tried bringing the wind into every aspect of his fighting style.

A Kaguya child is the master of dancing and as the Kaguyas grow older they get more adept at learning how to position their bodies. This is as true for Saburo as it is for any other member of his clan, so now that he's nearly a "man", he has learned a lot about both physical and chakra fighting styles; if one can maneuver their bodies in just such a way, it becomes easy to alter the flow of chakra. In fact, one could argue that dance in itself is like a meditation. If you tried hard enough you could just naturally find yourself in a certain elevated state just simply by being aware of the flow of movement.

Saburo grew up as a pit fighter, but not because he had much say in the matter. His parents needed someone in the ring that they could influence so that their bets always paid off. That being said, his time fighting helped the boy learn how to dodge blows like no one's business. Typically, if he got hit by a punch, it was because it came time to take a fall. Of course, helping rig fights landed Saburo on the bad side of a lot of bad people, so both in the ring and out, he was having to dodge one attack after another. Eventually, he got so good at deflecting attacks that he could even sometimes convince his attackers to beat each other up instead. It made the old adage "float like a butterfly and sting like a bee" almost useless. His opponents could just sting each other while he floated along.
