Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

MISSION BOARD

The following is a list of MISSION BOARD Entries. These are to give players greater depth to their environment, give them rank dependent villains to hunt in missions or to add some spice to their own RPs. If one of these MISSION BOARD entries is being used, has been used or you wish to use some of the events or NPCs potentially involved in an RP someplace please contact the council. We are very flexible but we do want to know what has happened with them so we can add it to the mission entry to add even more depth to their character or to remove them if they have been killed or captured.

Many of these entries are solo missions, a few of them are solo-modded or group missions. Be sure to read the information to the right before picking up a MISSION BOARD entry. Solo Missions cease at A Rank, if you wish to perform a S Rank mission entry you will need to join a modded group mission.

If you have any questions, please contact your friendly Sand Council.

E Rank MISSION BOARD Entries

The following is a list of E Rank MISSION BOARD Entries. A MISSION BOARD entry is much like a solo mission, in fact the rules for a solo mission apply. These are simply pre-approved missions you can take yourself on if you so desire. Unlike other communities, we encourage anyone interested that happens to be in Sunagakure (regardless of official player community such as Stone or Cloud) to participate if they are physically visiting our village. Some of these missions are multiple use and others are not. Please read the information to the right-hand side when you take a mission, some missions have auto-fail scenarios.

To expound further, E Rank Missions are opportunities for shinobi hopefuls still in the academy. Like D-rank missions, E-rank missions pose almost no risk to the ninja's life and usually consist of odd jobs like farming and babysitting work. There is really nothing exciting about these jobs but considering the remedial skills of the shinobi hopefuls, doing something as simple as walking a dog for a walk can be perilous.

ruinas_interior_necropolis_by_bistrod-d63qb3o.jpg
Mission Type: Solo-Mission
Mission Rank: E Rank
Objective: In the wake of the Cabal attack, explosions have decimated most of the village. Few families and localities have went entirely untouched by the destruction. We are still uncovering and burying our dead. There are three places in particular that need your assistance within the Kazekage Tower Ruins: Remnants of the Seat, what is left of Kingshelm and finally the debris of the Communications Center.

Each of the areas listed above is considered a separate mission, once one of these areas has been cleaned up a new mission for the area would become available. In light of Project Rebirth, an attempt by the Kazekage to rebuild the community from scratch, a noble effort some would say others have cited qualms with the fact that they would be leaving their home which is what the subterranean village has become. Once cleaned, efforts will be made by some members of the community to transition these areas to the surface.[/legend]|
This is Considered to be a Self-Modded Solo Mission

Important: Self-modded missions may be done twice in a week, however the second mission done yields half normal rewards. Players may also perform one mission with 2x the word count in order to gain the rewards of having done two missions. This still only yields half rewards for the second mission.

What Rank of Self-Modded Solo Missions can I perform?
  • A user may only perform a mission of their current OOC Rank or lower. This mission is considered to be E Rank, so if you are E Rank or above, you may do this mission.

What are the rewards for Solo Missions?
  • This is an E Rank Mission, for completing an E Rank Mission you will earn 1,500 Yen.

What is the required word count for this mission?
  • This is an E-Rank mission, the word-count requirement is 250 Words.

Someone else has already done this mission, what now?
  • This entry is NOT considered to be a repetitive entry, meaning there is only ONE of each area to clean. In these missions (as this is actually 3 separate missions in one), you as a player would pick which village area you would like to clean-up and this will open up the opportunity for other missions later and change the setting of Sunagakure as a whole. The only thing we ask that you NOT do is destroy the village further, if you cause more destruction than you have remedied then it will be considered a mission failure.

I have completed my mission, what now?
  • Drop you mission off in character (IC) HERE.

I am not from Sunagakure but I am visiting and I would like to perform a solo mission listed, is that OK?
  • YES! While you are always welcome to join our community (and we do encourage it), leaving people out of the fun goes against the out of character spirit of this community. You can serve as a mercenary or a helpful foreigner and complete these missions as well, just keep it in character and drop your mission off at the office as listed above but re-linked HERE. Just be sure that you have gotten permission from your primary community.

Objective: Project Rebirth, an ambitious effort spear-headed by the Steward Kazekage Sousuke III in the wake of the diamond maelstrom being quelled. After thirty years of living underground, finally the opportunity to return to the surface has come. With so much fragility and tragedy in recent memory this opportunity serves as a dim hope for some. Even students can help with this effort, building supplies are needed in mass quantities and if you could help deliver them via any means necessary would would be doing your community a great service.

Please deliver supplies such as nails, stone and lumber to Project Rebirth.[/legend]|

Mission Type: Solo-Mission

Objective: Children, some far too young to be on their own yet unlike perhaps yourself or your peers have been left without their families. Some died serving as shinobis prior to the Cabal attack, a risk parents who continue this vocation face but the numbers have compounded since. As tunnels collapsed and shinobi were slaughtered at the gates, the sole survivor of many families was their youngest and their smallest. The one that could hide the best. The orphanages are overwhelmed, the children old enough to fend for themselves had already left these orphanages but those too young to do so are still there. Their new caregivers negligent, not out of cruelity but rather lack of resources and ability to do more.

Help the children... just for a day.[/legend]|

Objective Legionnaire Ticks have infested a household, hotel or place of business (your choice). These arachnids are known for their rapid reproduction cycles, exterminate them before their numbers get out of control!

The smallest arachnid focused in this bestiary, Legionnaire Ticks are thus for their incredibly rapid reproduction time; a dozen ticks have been known to multiply by an order of ten in a few days. Less a millimeter in length, they increase to a centimeter when fully engorged. These ticks are parasitic, focusing solely on vertebrates they are most often found in thick hair, clothing or bedding where their high turnover rate can result in saturation of a habitat in a very short amount of time.

This species of tick is highly invasive and hard to identify before a massive infestation due to their diminutive size, but they can be killed with bleach and most pesticides. Upholstered furniture can be tricky to sanitize as it is difficult to achieve optimal saturation, often to protect a living quarters from having a near immediate re-infestation, items that cannot be clearly disinfected would have to be burned.

By themselves, the only remarkably facet of the Legionnaire Tick is this rapid reproduction cycle. However, much of the time, wounds caused by Legionnaire Ticks can become infected with the Tick's own parasite, a Bacilli known to be responsible for Crimson Fever; a maddening illness known to cause severe emotional regression and overt tendency towards violence, as well as a red tinge to the thinnest areas of skin and the irises of those infected. While medications against Crimson Fever are available in richer settlements of Wind, more secluded and impoverished villages are more prone to outbreaks of this disease.

Crimson Fever said:
A tick-borne illness, known for the characteristic crimson hue of the infected person's eyes and skin as well as personality-altering facets. This disease attacks the frontal lobe of the brain and alters a person's inhibitions, making them quicker to act often leading to reckless, erratic and even violent behavior. Due to this fact, many victims of this disease have to be restrained and housed in an asylum until the infection and infestation is quelled.

Treatment is rather expensive as it requires a multi-modal care: psychiatry and sedation as well as medication for Crimson Fever and an eradication of the infestation. The poor often find themselves imprisoned for their unruly behavior, contributing to the vermin issues in Wind Country Prisons were this condition is prevalent. Some prison systems provide medical treatment for their prisoners, but due to the lack of medical training misdiagnosis and under-diagnosis are common, mania is a common generic diagnosis. The antibiotic of choice is Rosacillin, a broad spectrum antibiotic that can be taken orally over the course of 2 weeks, costing about as much as the average person makes in a week or IM where a single injection is all that is needed but it costs as much as 2 months wage. The speed of recovery is also dependent on the route of administration, orally it still takes over a week for the symptoms to reside; IM takes about 6 hours to take effect.

Animals have a milder version of this disease process. They can become unruly and aggressive for short periods of time, but they have natural antibodies to fight this infection. For more information regarding Crimson Fever in animals, refer to the Sand Pet Action System (SPAS).

[col][legend="[b][color=#FFBF80]The Caverns[/color][/b]"]Mission Type:Solo-Mission
Mission Rank: E Rank
Objective: Deep in the caverns that lead out of Sunagakure into the depths is all matter of plant and animal-life. The tunnels do not get dangerous until a great distance has been traversed, monster-like beasts are often killed and the dens of such creatures burned or buried for good reason. In any case, natural plant-life can be found in these caverns. Despite the relative safety, dangers are still present in the form of tunnels with limited supports, the potential presence of creatures and the fearful possibility of getting lost. Finding these plants is time-consuming but necessarily for various remedies and tonics, Medics favor youngsters willing to help restock their supplies.

Plants of interest include:

Midnight Bloom said:
A small, poisonous blossom that grows underground in the deeper caverns. The flower itself is quite pretty, a deep violet mass of petals, despite the dangers associated with its consumption many enjoy having his flower in their home because of how attractive it is.
The Seeds: Toxic, the poison is most concentrated here. The seeds cause severe GI upset, symptoms include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea and cramping. The poison is not deadly but it can be considered incapacitating. These symptoms can last anywhere from an hour to three days depending on how much was consumed in relation to total body weight.
The Flower: Pleasant to gaze upon, the bloom itself is toxic like the seeds but not nearly as much. A single bloom, however, is still sufficient enough to keep an unfortunate victim barricaded in the bathroom for a full hour. Many enjoy looking at these flowers and have the sense enough to not eat them and to wash their hands after handling. The flower also gives off a pleasant scent, this aroma is not used in making perfume due to the toxic nature of the plant.
The Root: Useless.
The Stem: Useless.
The Leaves: Useless.

Stranglevine said:
An invasive plant that grows in the underbrush. It is a black, twisting knot of a plant with red leaves and no blooms but plentiful with thorns. If pierced by this plant, the affected may suffer minor paralysis that could last as long as a day in the affected extremity. Sometimes used as a cruel prank, this plant is usually avoided or burned whenever possible because it also chokes out other forms of plant life that wish to grow there.

Objective: Anti-shinobi rallies have started at the Kazekage tower ruins. They are preventing the repair efforts here as well as in Project Rebirth. These protesters contend that all levels of authority in Sunagakure are based on strength and privilege rather then deserving. That normal people lack the same opportunities afforded to those capable of manipulating their chakra and many have even cited abuses by the shinobis over the years that has went unpunished. How they use their power to force their way and how their livelihoods are often the collateral damages suffered in frays.

Objective: These worm-carved caverns twist for miles beneath the surface of Wind Country. Believed to be created by sandworms, most have decided that the name is nothing more than a wive's tale but there have been several accounts of smaller creatures such as scorpions and spiders found in these tunnels. While these creatures are not considered overtly dangerous on their own, these creatures are considered dangerous in quantities mass. Kill them

Unfortunately when you enter the cavern, you find the number of these spiders and scorpions overwhelming. Thankfully others have also taken this job, to survive you will have to band together to smite this threat![/legend]|

Objective: A wealthy Inuzuka family is rich in many things, one of them being destructive puppies... erm... children They are not bad kids, but their love of defecating in the streets, sniffing strangers and chewing on furniture has made it paramount that these toddlers are not left alone. Strong, astonishingly so for their age, it does require some shinobi skills to keep them in check. Obviously do not hurt them, but keep them safe until their parents get out of work at 5. We recommend taking only a single day, few make it the whole day so back-ups are prepared if you cannot handle the job. Just dial 911, they will know why.[/legend]|

  • This entry is considered to be a repetitive entry. They will require many sittings before they are old enough to be legally left alone... or in a kennel.

Objective: Have you ever tried to walk an imported Grand Cha Mountain Dog, imported from Tea Country? Over two-hundred pounds, these dogs are MASSIVE but thankfully good-natured and affectionate. These loyal pups have a LOT of energy to expend and can be a handful. Your job sounds simpler than it actually is: take the dog for a walk. Good luck.[/legend]|

C Rank MISSION BOOK Entries

The following is a list of C Rank Mission Book Entries. A Mission Book entry is much like a solo mission, in fact the rules for a solo mission apply. In addition, there is 1 Group Mission made available. A group of 3 is required to take the mission and all the rules regarding a group mission do apply when accepting a group mission scenario.

C Rank Missions are assigned to more experienced genin or chūnin. They are missions with no anticipated combat. Examples are guarding people, background investigations, or capturing or suppressing wild animals. While danger is not anticipated, they are in situations where they can quickly be in danger's way.

Most of these missions have a twist, or some information regarding 'what happened' to give you some additional story. Make sure you read everything!

Mission Type: Solo Mission
Mission Rank: C Rank
Objective: The beautiful and somewhat mysterious model Michi is in need of protection. She has recently started dating a wealthy man from Soons Haven and it is rumored that her previous paramour may in his jealousy wish her harm. She is spending the next three days in Sunagakure for a calendar shoot called Sand... It is Everywhere, Get Used to it. It is your job to protect her during her stay.

Optional Twist: She ends up having the hots for you. She is also a he. If you let her down, do so gently but her significant other might be interested in knowing this information. If you decide to date her, you may apply for an NPC. The reason we ask you to apply to make her an NPC is we may give you access to special information that only she knows and it makes it easier for us to keep track of people.[/legend]|

  • This is an C Rank Mission, for completing an C Rank Mission you will earn 2,500 Yen.

What is the required word count for this mission?
  • This is an C-Rank mission, the word-count requirement is 350 Words.

Someone else has already caught this Mission Book entry, what now?
  • This entry is NOT considered to be a repetitive entry, meaning there is only ONE girl to protect and potentially date, break the heart of, notify her significant other. Once she has been protected, unless she returns for another shoot at a later point she will not be around for you to protect. If she dies, obviously it is considered to be a mission failure. Notifying her significant other that she is a he (if you take that option) will create a short RP thread regarding it but will not result in a mission failure (even if she cheated with you). If her boyfriend finds out about you and her before he pays you, it will be considered a mission failure. Please be tasteful if you elect to do this mission.

I have completed my mission, what now?
  • Drop you mission off in character (IC) HERE, her boyfriend will answer this drop-off personally in that thread.

Mission Type: Solo Mission
Mission Rank: C Rank
Objective: The nightlife in the dankest portions of Sunagakure have been booming in the wake of the Cabal incursion. It has been disconcerting to say, but we feel that some extremists may have felt sympathies towards the Cabal's cause. There is one par in particular, known as the Rubber Room that has gotten our eye specifically. This gentleman's club caters to men and women of exotic tastes but that is not the problem, the problem is the girls... several of them have went missing. Their life-style choices have made them easy targets understandably but when they were found not only were they dead but a message (or rather image) was carved into them. As displayed on the left, this image has become synonymous with the Cabal and their efforts which have taken so many lives. This mission is not about facing any Cabal members or sympathizers head-on, but rather to determine if there is a rising movement in support of their cause.

What You Discover: These women are being hunted and killed by an escape convict that is way above this mission's pay-grade(S Rank). You will not be able to face him (and win) alone, he is too strong so you will need a team to take him down but if you attempt to 'get in' with this devious man you will learn that a movement against the shinobi way of life is on the rise. They are looking to normalize shinobis by somehow stopping their ability to manipulate chakra. How they plan to do this is unknown, despite this man's power he is not the man behind the scenes but he is a player.[/legend]|

Mission Type: Solo Mission
Mission Rank: C Rank
Objective: Project Rebirth, an ambitious undertaking initiated by the Steward Kazekage to rebuild the village on the surface now that we are free of the plight once known as the diamond maelstrom. It is imperative that this project is completed as quickly as possible, with so many displaced Sunans disease will soon be a problem. Materials for building are difficult to come by, most of the materials used are indigenous to our region such as stone. An import of wood from Tea Country has arrived in Soons Haven, we need to you recover this wood and bring it to Project Rebirth. The wood is very heavy, it weighs about 5-tons so be prepared for some heavy lifting but wood is also valuable so there is a high risk of theft. Bandits in particular. Please safely deliver the wood to Project Rebirth.

What Happens: A group of bandits try to take your wood. BEAT THEM UP! (Extra credit if it is the ginyu force.)[/legend]|

Mission Type: Team Mission
Mission Rank: C Rank
Objective: Something strange has been happening in the small towns all over the Wind Country. A strange pink mist has been making people fall in love. Love and even lust would not be a problem if the infatuation did not become obsession and addiction. These people cannot eat, drink, or live their lives because they are so enamored by someone around them. This can sometimes also have a violent outcome when the sentiment goes unrequited as affections are not always shared by each other. The cure for this is simple, a slap to the face. Please slap some sense into everyone in this village!

What Happens: While you might have enough sense to avoid the PINK MIST, not everyone is so fortunate. Someone (or multiple someone's) breathes a lung full of pink mist in and your team become the focus of their affections and he/she is jealous and STRONG![/legend]|

Mission Type: Solo PVP Mission
Mission Rank: C Rank
Objective: The Cabal used our trusting nature against us. The Toraono Dojo was a sign of good will between Sunagakure and the rest of Wind Country, however the Cabal perverted this into a symbol of weakness. It is not fair of us to place blame on the Toraono family, if it was not for them we would not have survived the Cabal incursion. It is important of course to know that we should keep a better eye on the comings and the goings in the Dojo. For this reason we are asking you to act as a guard. Just watch, observe and take notes.

What Happens: Basically if you let a PLAYER CHARACTER in or out of the village you can get rewarded for it here. Keep an eye on those gates.[/legend]|

Mission Type: Solo Mission
Mission Rank: C Rank
Objective: Please capture five shuriken scorpions. These creatures are very dangerous so please take caution when hunting them, we need them alive. Please review below for additional information regarding these creatures.

[spoilername="Shuriken Scorpions"]]
Shuriken Scorpions
Shuriken Scorpions are the most poisonous arachnid found in Wind Country. While there have been reports of Shuriken Scorpions outside of Wind Country, they are few and far between because these scorpions prefer hot, dry settings only offered in the desert. Approximately 3 inches long (the size of a shuriken), these black invertebrates look no different from any other type of scorpion and that is what makes them so very dangerous. Shuriken Scorpions carry a powerful poison called Necrosis, this poison causes severe nerve and tissue damage, causing paralysis, burning numbness in the extremities and eventual death as vital and delicate neural tissue is degraded in as little as just half an hour, depending on where an individual is stung.

Shuriken Scorpions can be very aggressive, the stinger is an effective hunting and defense tool for the scorpion. They rarely scuttle to the shadows and will often hiss of wave its stinger menacingly if it sees a potential predator. Many an unfortunate avian have attempted to pluck a shuriken scorpion from the ground only to meet their death shortly thereafter. In fact it has become biologically programmed over the eons that birds will avoid all manner of scorpion in the desert.

It is believed that shuriken scorpion stings are the 8th leading cause of death for Wind Country shinobi and most common cause of death that can be directly attributed to an animal. While some animals are considerably more destructive and dangerous, such as the mighty Sandworm or Carnasaur, the Shuriken Scorpion is significantly more common and extremely dangerous. Some people actually revere the Shuriken Scorpion as a sign of strength and tenacity and tattoo themselves with an image of the scorpion on their back. They purposely expose themselves to the scorpion venom in small, calculated doses as to gain eventual immunity. They believe that in doing so enhances their vigor and call themselves a member of The Order of the Scorpion.

Necrosis
Necrosis is a powerful poison carried in the stinger of the Shuriken Scorpion. Necrosis is known to cause rapid death in a victim in as little as thirty minutes but it could take as long as an hour in some cases. Symptoms are almost immediate and include searing pain as the site of injection that spreads distally and then centrally. It is said that the pain is so great that the pain simply stops after several minutes and that the nothing or numbness felt is simply the nerves no longer sending impulses of pain to the brain. The Necrosis venom attacks every major organ system, blocking its ability to take up oxygen, causing cell death in a matter of minutes. Victims often die due to multi-organ system failure within the hour.

  • Treatment: The most effective treatment is an anti-venom called Revite. Revite has been restricted to hospitals and is not available openly on the market due to its high cost. Second to this, supportive treatments are the most effective but as previously mentioned, this venom causes multi-system organ failure and this would also require a hospital setting to render effective care. A tertiary option and the only field option available is to suck out the Necrosis poison, then to tourniquet the affected extremity and seek medical attention as soon as possible and hopethat the poison does not spread to the body core before Revite can be administered.

Alternative Uses: A form of this venom is sometimes harvested from shuriken scorpions for use in ANBU interrogation. A weakened form of this will not kill a victim but still leave them in a similar degree of pain. Eventually with enough doses given there is the supposed possibility of multi-organ failure, but thankfully no victim has ever held out long enough to know this for sure.
[/spoilername]

What Happens: You end up coming face-to-face with a member of the Order of the Scorpion. They are not dangerous and they do not attack you but you learn about their beliefs and perhaps even make a new friend. Information regarding this group can be found below.

[spoilername="The Order of the Scorpion"]The Order of the Scorpion
a1e627e0-3731-4e0e-b798-8329cf0240fb.jpg

Little is known about this special interest group. They are not believed to be a religious unit, but this cannot be known for certain. All that is known for certain is that these people believe that they must continually expose themselves to various poisons to fortify themselves and to increase their vigor. The venom of the shuriken scorpion is the final test for many of these members once they have exposed themselves to every other kind of venom available. Those who succeed and survive a full dose of a shuriken scorpion sting without medical care then mark their flesh with the symbol of their faith, manhood or vigor: a runic symbol resembling a scorpion.

Some believe this is a sub-sect of the Yamanaka Clan, a clan known for their skills as florists and the adept skill with poisons. These people take their family secrets and skills one step further and attempt to intake the most virulent forms of toxins with the hope of increased strength and vigor but this is only a theory.
