After identifying himself he moved to the gates, signing in his charge, the guy with him, he could tell the guards were on a little too attentive. Kamaru listened to a transmission coming to a stop and putting two fingers over his ear to hear more clearly, he noticed the guards did the same. A brief discussion filled him in supposedly they had heard the emergency distress calls from within Stone’s Gates but due to their position and duty they were chained to this location. Once protocol was done with himself and his charge Kamaru nodded to them verbally saying into his headset he’d be going to the location. Realizing who it was he could have his hard work go down the toilet, plus letting people inside the village limits die wasn’t the best of things.
Kamaru made hand seals and earth took form as Kamaru tossed his charge up before darting off in the direction of the distress call. His charge mostly screamed and asked where they were going, he didn’t like Kamaru’s simple answer of ‘Underground’. Finding someone close to the area scrabbling away looking behind them Kamaru latched onto him pulling him into the shadows a hands going over his mouth.
”I’m here to help tell me what happened?” Kamaru stated.
Looking at the man he seemed to be dressed as a server, he was probably just walking by when the indicent happened but any intel was better than going in blind.
”H-he was just sitting at the table when they went by and he just up and left… through the window and out towards the people and tried to attack them. They’ve been held up where they were since he kept on using a flail… it looked like his arm though. I just need to get out of here.” he explained hurried looking around at the sound of another explosion.
Tapping the man on the back Kamaru nodded for him to go, ”Keep low and out of sight, we don’t know what he’ll attack besides them…” Kamaru stated.
Focusing on the primary he watched the scene that seemed slightly odd ensue.
A uniformed police offer what flinging out some flail like whip any time a figure moved from behind the barricade erected.
”Hand him over you dogs! You don’t know what to do with him, I’ve tasted the power and I’ll bring a new order to this village, this country… Being a shinobi or not won’t matter!” he roared before laughing manically slamming down the whip like arm tens of meters away into the barricade of earth that started to crack and shatter.
”Yeah but once you get it… then what? Do you know what to do to make yourself stronger? Do you know how to make more like you? Will they were worth it? Kamaru stated after walking out from behind the rocks with his charge. Kamaru tapped the man’s head next to him, ”This guy has studied it since he discovered the original, he is the only one that can unlock it’s true potential… and through it yours… if you’re strong enough to survive…” Kamaru tempted the man distracting him. Seeing a hooded masked face pop out Kamaru signaled for him to get back down for now, no use playing all one’s cards up on the table at once.
”Who are you?!?! Is what you say true.” the man stated his resolve wavering on his curiosity and desire for power taking over.
”He’s definitely the highest commodity currently on my shelf and I’ve done a bit to of killing to get him. As for me? I’m a nobody. A bland cog in the machine. Maybe I’m tired of it. Everyone yelling out in this village how they’re different and unique. We’re all just the same, we want some acknowledgement, a little love, a little gratitude. A chance to show we’re better than someone else at something… anything. We scrap and crawl towards our hopes and dreams. Why should I have to work for what I want? Why can’t I just take it? That’s what you do right? Trample the weak, hurdle the death, and kill the survivors.” Kamaru explained ending on a dark axiom.
As Kamaru and the scared research was pulled forward a head popped out at the worst time.
”You’re not going to save me? Plus you’re going to betray your village?!?!?” the man the two were guarding piped out in shock.
This made Kamaru sigh and look at him before his attitude changed from someone who looked perfectly fine with betraying his village to a cold blooded killer as a smile slowly washed over his face. With the flick of a wrist a flash of metal was in his hand as he dove at the man. Kamaru clucked his tongue since he only managed a deep series of gashes in the Police officer’s flailing whip arm. He could see bone but if the guy was hell bent he probably would work through the pain.
The man roared realizing the betrayal and lunged around Kamaru after the attack at the researched grabbing him by the neck with his good arm. The weaker researcher flailing as the man laughed turning to see Kamaru moving out of the area to behind the barricade. Confused he looked back to see the researcher slowly turning to mud a note on him catching fire suddenly. Trying to pull his hand away the neck seemed to stick to his hand as the researcher that was melting embraced him before exploding. The researcher actually fine popped his head out from behind the hiding place.
”Is it same to come out?” he asked timidly.
”Well I don’t know you’re the expert is there any contaminants we need to worry about?” Kamaru shot back.
As the researcher came out Kamaru assessed the two escorts and their wounds. Kamaru commented he was surprised neither had any skill in medical jutsu to which they replied it was rarely a scenario where such a skill set was needed. Kamaru rolled his eyes doing what little he could. Telling them to take the researcher and report to the hospital as they left the area with the researcher causing them to explain they were still on a mission. Seeing several areas outside with trails of smoke and alarms going off Kamaru looked around. Several people had chatter going on his headset and from the conversations he looked at the criminal turned informant.
”Hospital route is clear and you can get your injuries actually looked at.” Kamaru stated looking in the direction they needed to head and saw an explosion in the distance.
”I’m sure you two would be able to tough it out and hoof it over there… Guess I’ll get a coffee and pastry after I turn him over to the medical researcher staff… Kamaru mused, ”Plus they might have a masseuse I could get a back massage as well…although I hear the person doing it is a young single lady… Mmm I’m not good if she flirts..” Kamaru muttered aloud as if in deep thought when a hand gripped his forearm.
”Although against protocol I figure if you call it in we can’t do anything about it… we can go to the mass-err hospital to get checked out and escort your charge to safety.” one of them explained. The other hung his head, it seemed Kamaru had mentioned a taboo topic possibly, it’s rough to find a girlfriend when you can’t tell people what you do and have a crazy schedule.
Grabbing onto the criminal Kamaru nodded, ”Time for a brisk walk on the dangerous side.” Kamaru explained getting complaints and offers of possibly going to the hospital for his injuries since his neck hurt a bit.
Out of hearing distance Kamaru confided a bit in the man he was now escorting.
"I’m in charge of the normal police force, answer whatever happens when a fire isn’t put out, someone’s postal needs aren’t meet, schedules what to do when sewers don't work, or an wild animal is loose in the village, border patrol tours on sea and land, looking at bandit and pirate sightings and movements, plus managing the academy, and that's if there's no natural disasters and shit hasn't hit the fan. I don’t honestly think anyone really gives two shits to the wind about me but… I do like my job and this village that is my new home. So I do what I can for as long as I can and I’ll be that guy. Not the good guy or the heroic one… the guy that gets things done. Now stop bitching and let’s get going." Kamaru stated before grabbing the man by the collar and shoving him forward, although he was rough and the situation didn't look at it's best Kamaru still smirked slightly.
