Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The shinobi trio received their notices of a mission nearly a week ago with instructions to prepare to leave the village for up to two weeks on an escort mission. After making their preparations they were to meet at the village gates for a briefing before setting out on their mission. They would show up at the designated time, one after another until they had all arrived. At the gates awaiting from them was intelligence officer Tenkawa Yuuto. The shinobi would also see their fellow shinobi as they arrived. Fuu, Itsuki, and Tsumugu were assigned to this mission.

"Good, you've arrived. As you've been told already you will be leaving the village to escort the village's client, Iyanagi Choji. Iyanagi is a wealthy merchant hailing from Raiden's Eye who deals in mostly alcohol. He has distilleries locally in Lightning Country, but he also locations within other countries that he's begun opening up recently. Because of his business expanding in foreign locations he has opted to move closer to Lightning Country's major port, Port Cirrus. He's stated that he is also taking along some of his prized possessions and worries that the caravan will be attacked on the road, and thus has hired Kumogakure to protect him and his valuables on the journey. He is apparently aware of ANBU's reputation as elite and specifically requested our branch's shinobi... for a hefty bonus," Yuuto explained, not bothering to go into specifics about the bonus. Suffice to say that it was worth committing ANBU resources to the mission for. "You will be meeting him in Raiden's Eye and escorting him and his caravan to Port Cirrus and repelling any would-be thieves or attackers. This is a picture of the man you're working for," Yuuto said, reaching into a folder and pulling out a photograph of Iyanagi. He held it out for the group to see.

"This is Iyanagi," Yuuto commented as they got a look. The man appeared likely in his early forties with brown hair and a light wispy mustache and goatee. He wore a crooked grin and an overall goofy demeanor as well as looking distinctly untrustworthy. He also had a lightly flushed face, as if he had been sampling some of his own product. After allowing them a good look, Yuuto placed the photograph back in the folder. "You'll be travelling a well-used road, but that kind of wealth is hard to pass up for thieving types I suppose. Exercise caution and remain vigilant. There are specific details about where you'll be meeting Iyanagi in here," Yuuto said, holding up the folder and then handing it to Fuu. "Doku, as the highest ranking here, will be your leader. Any questions before you head out?" Yuuto asked, relinquishing the folder and awaiting any questions.

"Yeah, I gotta question. What's he going to be taking with him that's so valuable?" Kogami Tsumugu, designation Tanto, spoke up voicing his curiosity. The trainee was wearing a blank mask not surprisingly and an all back ensemble of leather underneath with various pouches and kunai holsters. He also had a set of standard ANBU body armor underneath for added protection without significantly reduced mobility. Yuuto scratched his cheek at the question, seemingly at a loss for words.

"Well, he wouldn't say... but that's really no concern of ours. All you have to do is make sure nobody gets their hands on it... whatever it is," Yuuto responded, knowing that it sounded incredibly shady. To be fair, the man was not known for dealing in anything illegal even after he had been looked in to ensure that he wasn't. It was not likely anything dangerous. Probably. "Any more questions?" Yuuto asked, glancing at the other two shinobi in case they had questions of their own.

[OoC: In your next post you may ask Yuuto any questions, then go ahead and post departing if you're ready. Seeing as the new travel rules allow you to RP in OV zones, I will put up the core mission RP there once you leave topic here. No need to leave the village.]

It had been nearly a week since his orders had come in, and in typical Shinobi fashion Fuu had been kept in the dark as to the nature of his mission. He was curious but not all that anxious, by now the twenty five year old had grown used to the secretive nature of his branch and it had been a long time since he had last been nervous about an assignment. His years of service with the ANBU had hardened the young man, molding him into a curt, diligent soldier and leaving no room for nerves or doubts. Duty ran deep within him, expelling the needs for a social life or even a family one, leaving him with few concerns outside of his village’s welfare.

Naturally, he had arrived at the gates early, taking the opportunity to smoke a cigarette and check his gear before his briefing. Fuu had packed light, as usual, carrying only the bare essentials in his small rucksack. The ANBU was no stranger to surviving outside the gates, both in civilized territory and otherwise and was not particularly concerned with about running out of supplies. Satisfied with the state of the gear, the tall man straightened up and finished his cigarette before hopping down to the specified area.

Shrouded in his ANBU issued severe weather robes and arachnid styled mask he stood tall and silent, listening intently to the officer as he briefed the small group. It was a familiar chore, escorting a wealthy man and his wares cross country, but not for Fuu. Grimacing behind his mask, his jaw tightened as his superior detailed the mission. He had met his share of merchant-types in the past, and the fact that one paid extra money instantly rose red flags in his logical mind. This man was either extremely wealthy and wanted to make an impression or was highly fearful of some undisclosed threat. Either way, the ANBU was concerned.

"This is Iyanagi," the officer said, displaying a photo of the merchant in question. Fuu knew the type from his face alone, forcing him to stifle a sigh. He had dealt with enough drunks and swindles to know when he saw one and he could tell this journey was about to be a long one. "You'll be traveling a well-used road, but that kind of wealth is hard to pass up for thieving types I suppose. Exercise caution and remain vigilant. There are specific details about where you'll be meeting Iyanagi in here, Doku, as the highest ranking here, will be your leader. Any questions before you head out?" Nodding his head, Fuu accepted the folder flipped it open, skimming through it quickly before tucking it into his robes for later perusal.

It looked like he was in charge again, for only the second time in his career. Instantly he felt the hint of a ache creep into his head, settling just behind his temples as he remembered the murder investigation he had headed. ‘Hopefully this is less macabre.’ He thought, taking in his comrades with cold blue eyes. Two trainee’s, judging by their blank masks, though it mattered little. To be accepted into the ANBU, these two had displayed significant skill and loyalty, and that was enough for Fuu.

"Yeah, I gotta question. What's he going to be taking with him that's so valuable?” One of the trainee’s spoke up, ‘Tanto’ according to his folder. ‘Astute.’ He noted, his eyes flashing back to the Intel officer expectantly. Though Fuu wouldn’t have asked himself, he was glad the youth had no such qualms. "Well, he wouldn't say... but that's really no concern of ours. All you have to do is make sure nobody gets their hands on it... whatever it is. Any more questions?” Fighting another sigh, the ANBU shook his head silently. 'Of course not.’ He had been prepared for days now, and he was anxious to get moving to the rendezvous. Glancing at the other trainee, ‘Hebi’ apparently, he waited to see if she would speak before turning and heading through the pass, wasting no time on his way out. He had a job to do, and it was getting about time to do it.

Itsuki stood motionless and without comment. It seemed like a very cut and dry mission, one that she had been on before. Granted, not one of such importance, but escort missions were the type of missions she excelled at. Her doujutsu granted her a rather powerful advantage against those of the sneaky nature, however, even special eyes had their weaknesses.

Itsuki was adorned black leather leggings and lithe combat boots of matching color. On top of her body armor, sat a grey poncho so assist against the climate. It was made to be easily removed in case of attack. On top of her head was a hat upon which the hood of her poncho covered up; all designed to keep her warm in between periods of conflict. Underneath her outer gear was where he standard kunoichi gear was kept. Unlike most, Itsuki's tools of warfare were her bare hands, so no bulky carrying apparatus was needed.

Behind the blank mask, she looked to the floor in thought if she needed any more information. "Just defend him to death." she thought to herself and then shook her head. She simply turned to leave.
