This is the dumbest assignment in the history of dumb assignments. Raito thought, fuming over the idea of how he had spent all afternoon. He wanted to be a shinobi; a true protector of the village, not some high-born brats hunting dog! It was the weekend, school has been slow moving along, with most students seeming highly disinterested in any of this work they were committing to, and Raito wanted to feel like he was actually doing his part. He wanted to earn his title, but so far, he's done just school work.
Raito had asked for a mission of importance, something he could do to help the village, and what did he get? the dumbest E-Rank crap that the adults could throw at him. Ok not dumb... Logical... But it still sucks...
He was assigned to a young girl, barely into her 6th year, named Tsuki, to recover her most precious and dear friend; a 40 lbs. rabbit with a habit to scratch and kick and strangers. She had left the cage door to her rabbit cage open by mistake, and the massive hare has escaped into the neighborhood, and she feared that the anarchists who were looking for a good snack might eat her "bunny". If you could even call it that anymore... after 5 hours of chasing this thing up and down the Golden Chrystal District, Raito managed to corner the behemoth and tackle it to the ground. He still remembered the tears of joy in the little girls eyes as he returned her pet and friend, but mostly remembered the fight the damn thing put up as he walked home to shower and bandage up his cut up forearms.
I swear, by the gods, I am never getting a pet...Time to get paid, I guess...
