[spoilername="Quickdraw"]It was a strange thing to be practicing, and to most it would appear completely useless. But there Reizo was, timing himself on how quickly he could remove his gloves, tuck them away, and pull out the dagger that he had been given only a few days ago. Then doing the opposite, sheathing the dagger, pulling out his gloves, and getting them on his hands. It was unfortunate, but the gloves made his grip on the leather of "ketsueki gaka" tenuous at best, sometimes. When he had been practicing earlier, the dagger had flown out of his hand. Until he got new gloves (which he wasn't sure how long that would take, he hadn't been given a mission in a week or two...), his best bet would be to learn to swap between the two with ease and speed. It was unlikely the boy would encounter a life-or-death situation where the speed at which he could remove his gloves would ever become important... but he was training to be a shinobi. That possibility was always there, as slight as it may be...
When he went out later that day, he took the same sort of care in learning to sheath the blade quickly to allow him to pull out a kunai or shuriken (whichever he happened to grab, admittedly) and fling it before returning the blade to his hand, and doing this over and over again. Yes, by the time he was done (and this was over a period of a week and a half to two weeks), his hands were covered in nicks and scrapes where he had carelessly grabbed a kunai or shuriken and his hands had slid over their sharpened edges, but he could sheath-pull-throw-unsheath in a relatively fluid motion, and found himself rather proud of that fact.[/spoilername]
Learning Ability: Insight
Prerequisites: D-Rank
RP: 185/100 WC
[spoilername="Insight"]The logical, observant nature of the boy was being fostered and encouraged to grow. A shinobi with a head on their shoulders was, quite honestly, considered to be an individual much better prepared for whatever tasks might be lain before them. So it stood to reason that Reizo would continue to develop these skills. While he was still a touch awkward, he found himself slowly understanding the motivations of others better. Seeing little... twitches, little idiosyncrasies and... "tells" that others might miss. This became even more obvious on the day that he was sparring with another student, who vanished behind a tree. With the number of times that Reizo had sparred with the other kid, it was pretty easy for him to tell what was about to happen, even though he wasn't able to see precisely what hand seals the kid made when behind the tree. He wasn't any less prepared when the kid charged around the tree to complete his attack.
The kid certainly was surprised when Reizo handily countered him, sending the boy sprawling to the ground with that very slight, triumphant smile.[/spoilername]
Learning Ability: Sixth Sense
Prerequisites: 40 Stat Average
RP: 215/100 WC
[spoilername="Sixth Sense"]Reizo scratched quietly at the back of his head, running his fingers through his black hair and ruffling it a little bit. Then his eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Since he had begun hanging around Ren, the boy found himself becoming more and more... aware of everything that went on around him, even if he wasn't paying much actual attention to it. But that was probably to be expected, when Ren did things like tackle-hug him out of absolutely nowhere (in front of her cousin, Tsuchikage-dono no less...), and pulled Tomatsu-kun under the water when the chuunin had simply been looking to teach Reizo to walk on water. Maybe it was some subtle sound that his consciousness didn't actually register, or a flicker of the shadows. Regardless, Reizo felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up, and very promptly
dropped.
The other student who had thought to get the drop on him lunged forward,
"HA! GOT YO-" CRASH "...ow..." and promptly crashed beyond where Reizo had been standing just a moment ago.
The gangly boy gave a relieved, but almost tired sounding sigh.
"...No. You do not have me..." and stood once more, brushing the dust and dirt off his pants and hoodie,
"You are not as good as Ren at that."[/spoilername]
Learning Ability: Journeyman - Main Branch (Free Slot)
Prerequisites: C-Rank
RP: 147/100 WC
[spoilername="Journeyman - Main Branch"]The number of missions that Reizo took on was relatively impressive for his age. While for now they were just missions within Iwagakure and Inner Maruishi, he certainly showed promise. It was generally agreed that the boy would become the wandering type, just due to how little he seemed to like staying cooped up in his own home. (Though, that could be attributed to being uncomfortable with dealing with his family, if you knew them to any real degree.) He happily took missions that took him up to Maruishi, or down to Arcadia, or everywhere and anywhere within Iwagakure. It made no difference to Reizo. Wherever the mission took him, he was more than happy to go and complete it in a timely manner. Or even perhaps do something else on the side, with the little extra time he tended to have after a mission was completed.[/spoilername]
