Name: Murukami Masanori
Age: 12
Gender: Male
General Description: Masanori stands at 5’10, with dark blue hair that rests just about his shoulders. Whenever he has a mission he makes sure to tie it back. His grey eyes show signs of independence, as his parents aren’t around much anymore. He generally wears his light blue-grey shirt and brown shorts as it is what he feels most comfortable in and what he has done limited training in. Masanori feels very connected to nature as a result of his many walks throughout and around the village and wants to expand and protect the natural flow of life. It is because of this he dislikes fire jutsus, seeing them as nothing more than destructive forces. A quiet boy, he generally keeps to himself, as he has not had much interaction with others. He speaks his mind when around others, which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing. His dream is to follow in his parents footsteps, to become a member of the ANBU of Konaha.
History: Masanori was born in Konohagakure in the summer to Makoto and Masayuki, two Leaf shinobi working in the ANBU branch. Fiercely devoted to the Hokage, Makoto and Masayuki wanted someone they could entrust the future of Konohagakure too. They had originally planned to raise Masanori with the strictest of training regiments, but the soft cries he emitted as a baby worked their way into their hearts.
Still from a young age, Masanori was instilled with the ideals of his parents. The Hokage was the smartest and strongest person in the village. Everyone working under the Hokage should work to protect them and the future of the Leaf. As he grew up, Masanori was taught about the Leaf and basic fighting skills. When he turned 9, Masanori’s parents began getting more missions that would take them away from the village for extended periods. It was during this time that Masanori began to spend more and more time outside with nature.
Masanori spent countless hours wandering the town, finding all the nooks and crannies, secret hiding spots for the little kids, and areas perfect for a midday nap. His favorite spot however, was the training grounds. It was the closest place to nature he felt comfortable in going. No buildings to get in the way, just the natural world. (And maybe some dummies.) He couldn’t venture out into the wild and be safe, but here he could. While he may not be able to understand and interact with people easily, Masanori is able to understand animals much better.
Since his parents were away from the village more often, Masanori started to become more independent. He began doing all of the household chores and became quite a good cook for his age. With his enrollment into the academy, he hopes to reach his goal of becoming a shinobi of the Leaf and join the ANBU Black Ops.

Unlocking The Inner Ghost Walker
It was time for relaxation. It was time to get away. Masanori had went with his parents, Makoto and Masayuki, to a lake deep within Ikari forest. It was small, but it was a nice break from their respective missions. Masanori did not have much time to himself since joining the academy, and he had not seen much of his parents, so this was a welcome change. They had spent most of the morning relaxing in the lake. Now, they were resting in the grass, staring up at the green leaves in the trees above. It was moments like this that Masanori wished could last forever. "Mom. Dad. I think we should do this whenever we all are off duty. It is great to be able to do this together." Masanori's mother sat up and patted him on the head. "Once you join a main branch you will be even busier than before. But I promise we'll do this again. Right dear?" Makoto looked over to her husband, but he was fast asleep. She let out a chuckle. "It's been a pretty stressful week in the-"
At that moment, Makoto stopped. She sensed two presences in the forest that worried her. "The Shiouko are here." Upon hearing this, Masayuki came out of his sleep and dashed in front of Masanori. Then, all was white for Masanori. He found himself standing in front of his mom in a plain white space, nothing around them. "M-Mom? What's going on? What are the Shiouko?" Makoto grabbed her son's shoulders and began to explain everything that had been going on with him recently. "The Shiouko are a clan that hunt people known as Ghost Walkers. They pushed us out of our home and the Leaf were kind enough to take us in. That is why are so loyal to the Hokage and the village. Our family...used to be able to use our abilities to perform the some of the strongest genjutsu around. Me and your father lack such abilities, but we believe you have inherited the skills to do so. They just lay dormant."
Masanori was about to say something but his mother cut him off. "No I do not have much time. This is a genjutsu I cast on you. I must speak quickly. It was us who have been testing you recently. I was the ghost you have seen and your father was the one who attacked you. We wanted to bring out your abilities without putting you in harm's way, but it seems like today you will have to learn. You need to run. Run and be ready to defend yourself. Your father and I will try to kill both of the attackers but there is no guarantee that we will. Masanori, this is where all your training with us will pay off. Now go my son, we love you."
And in a flash Masanori was back in the real world. His father and mother standing in front of him, ready to defend their son. He took off, running across the lake and into the forest behind it. So it was them all along. It was part of my last training...All right. I won't let this chance go to waste. Masanori jumped into the branches overhead and started looking for a place to take a defensive stand. As he was doing that, a flaming sword came within inches of his chest, slicing a horizontal strip out of his shirt. He blew compressed chakra out of his mouth and landed harshly on his feet. His attacker followed, several paces ahead of him.
His attacker appeared to be a teenager. His hair was cut short and was a fiery red. He only wore a pair of blue pants and sandals. He held a katana which was still coated with his flames. "Wow. I cannot believe you dodged that. Don't worry, won't happen again. But man, having to kill a kid? What a downer. Well, time to finally end this feud between our families huh?" The boy pointed his katana at Masanori in a mocking manner, letting down his guard. Masanori took his opening and weaved his hands. "We'll see about that." Just then the other boy's head started to pound. A migraine had started, but he stood firm. "Ahh dammit. But I'm stronger than this and you." The boy started his attack anew. His style was wild and had power to it. He mixed horizontal and vertical slashes together, but the power behind them was useless if they didn't connect.
Masanori looked for an opening in his slashes and sent a slash of wind to counter the blade. It smacked across the metal, causing the other boy's arm to spin back from it's original attack position. He went with the motion however, and spun with it, bring it back around and taking a sliver out of Masanori's upper arm, then burning the wound close and causing Masanori to cry out. That backfired. This is what real pain is. What can I do? Masanori quickly back stepped as the boy continued his wild swings. Then his back was against a tree. Oh no. This is just like before! It was at this point the other boy changed his tactics and made one final thrust, which pierced Masanori through the chest and later piercing the bark of the tree. The flames continued to lick and sear Masanori's chest as the tree behind him burst into flames. The other boy let go of the sword to enjoy his work. "Finally! This is where your family line ends. The Shiouko are now on top! This burning forest will be your grave!" As the boy went to grab his sword, something interesting happened.
Masanori's body turned transparent and he slid past the blade and grabbed the other boy by the neck. His body had a current of wind running over it now, and that wind was shredding the boy's neck and chest. However, the boy was still able to reach for his sword stuck in the burning tree. He pulled it out and raised it to strike down Masanori. When he did that, his head began to pound even harder than before and all the color entering his eyes turned into one blur. It caused him to be unable to do anything but stand there, as his neck was slowly, painfully slowly, detached.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"-ase wake up son. You are stronger than this, wake up!" Masanori woke to see his mother and father standing over them. They looked rough and dirty, but both of them were in one piece. He went to sat up, but felt a sharp burning sensation in the middle of his chest. "Masa don't overexert yourself. You've been stabbed through the chest but the wound was cauterized. I'm guessing that boy used fire jutsu? Just relax for now. You did well today. Dad is going to carry you back." Masanori could see the burn tree above him. The fire had been contained and he was alive. "I think...I would like to stay here for just a bit longer." Makoto was surprised but smiled and sat down beside her son. Her husband did the same.
And thus, Murukami Masanori's true abilities had been unlocked.
