Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yomi stepped out of the elevator to her penthouse. The lights were off indicating that Asuka had not yet returned her. Perhaps she chose to stay in the home within the Forest of Death. The Goddess had no clue. The house was eerily quiet, usually filled with the sounds of her and her husband greeting each other, especially at this time of night. Yet, he was still nowhere to be found.

She walked around the apartment, turning on the lights, within each room, inspecting them each before turning them off and moving on to the next. What she was looking for she was sure that she was not going to be able to find, but, it never stopped her from looking. This was a repeated ritual, one that she did every night since Umashi had been gone. She wished that he would simply be there when she came home. Waiting for her in one of their many rooms, with an explanation and an apology so she could let go of the breath that she had been holding on to since their wedding day. Yet, every night, her lungs became much tauter from the lack of oxygen. He was not home, so she could not allow herself to breath.

The woman found herself in the en-suite bathroom drawing herself up a bath. Something seemed tedious about this whole ordeal, much forcing herself into the office every day. Were it not for Tamashii’s gentle insistence, she would not leave the house. For what? Outside was dull, harsh, and grey. It was better for her to remain here, until she was able to see color again. That amount of vibrancy he poured into her was so much that she could practically taste it. To suddenly have that ripped from her with no warning, she now believed Jashin was less cruel.

Steam filled the bathroom, as the water was dangerously hot. It was how she preferred it, as it was only these baths that reminded her she could feel something beyond the numbness of loss. Disrobing she carefully got within the tub allowing the burn to quickly consume her. It was not hot enough to burn the flesh from her body but hot enough to be uncomfortable for the average person.

She sank as deep as she could into the tub wondering if this was all worth it. The agony, the loneliness, the strong possibility that the child(ren) she carried would grow up without one of those parents, always stopping short of saying it out loud, because she still didn’t truly believe he left her all alone. Still Yomi was a realist, and she couldn’t count it out of the realm of possibilities. After all he wasn’t here for her now.

Placing her hands on her stomach she thought of all the ‘firsts’ he could possibly miss, should he not turn up soon. She didn’t want him to miss the first doctor’s appointment, the first movements, the first complaint that none of her clothes were fitting properly anymore. Would he be able to help her pick a name? Would he be present for the birth? Would he be around for those sleepless first weeks? Would he even be around to see their first steps?

And who even thought she was capable of being Hokage? She certainly felt a sham. It wasn’t leading people that gave her pause, but, the fact that she had no one to refer to for council. Only current and previous could understand her burden, and there were none in Konoha. Her plan was to lead her flock, not lead ninja because she knew the dedication was to her from the flock. The ninja in Konoha did not know her enough to come to that decision on their own.

Yomi sat up in the tub, covering her face with her hands as all the weight was threatening to crush her chest. She began to hyperventilate as she wept. Wept for her husband, wept for her child, wept for Konoha, and wept for all the happiness that she had known that had died.
