For years after he wore a respirator to prevent illness, leaving him more or less as a noncombatant in the clan of combatants. In this, he learned his clan’s values, however found a distaste for violence since too much would literally kill him. History: Needs 29 more words for BL approval. As it stands, it could use a little more "Kaguya-ing" in my personal opinion. Perhaps he accidentally forms a mask over his face to protect himself from sneezing and ends up basically sneezing into his own face. Or perhaps he is about to fall and his bones harden and protrude out of his body in order to protect him.

That boy wore a helmet of sorts, a stupid-looking thing that showed nothing of his face. Another boy, fat waddling, came following. They were off to another adventure, it looked like. Had been for quite a while. They were his family, but he barely knew them, he’d always been bedridden. And yet, they looked like they were having so much fun. Tears rolled down Byoki’s cheek, and he cursed his own self-pity. And, in this moment of shamelessness, Byoki begged.
“If any god is listening, or even a demon, please let me be healthy. I’ll protect my family and never take them for granted, and I’ll try my best to not hurt anybody either, though I may have to being a Kagetsu and all. Please, I just want to play with them.” There was no answer, but instead he suddenly found himself blinking in and out of consciousness, and his body felt like a thousand needles were pricking him. He was having a seizure.
When he woke up, he’d found himself in a dark and unknown place. In a panic, he began clawing away at it, scrapping the bits of his imprisonment away layer by layer, and finally he broke out of what appeared to be a calcium cocoon, an egg of bone.
It wasn’t immediate, but slowly he realized his joints no longer ached. His skin still burned, however he could feel a feeling he hadn’t before: better. He may not be cured of his illness, but undoubtedly his condition had improved. And, quietly such that nobody might hear, he whispered: “Thank you.”
