Name: Naito Asato
Age:13
Gender: Male
Sex: Male
Character's Physical Description: Asato stands at 5'11" with red spiky mid length hair. His right eye has been covered with an eye patch, with a deep ridged scar stretching from the top right of his hairline to the upper left cheek, disappearing under the patch to reappear on the other side to cross his nose at the upper bridge. And his left eye is a green, almost amethyst color. Asato prefers to wear breezy, dark clothing, claiming that it both absorbs heat to a better degree than light clothing, while also allowing a cool breeze to keep his own body from becoming sticky with sweat (Though popular belief is that he prefers this style of drab because it allows him to slink away from nocturnal establishments unseen). He is somewhat muscular, and of slim physique. Four leather straps stretch perpendicular across his chest and waist, which wrap around to his back and hold his massive mallet in place at a bisecting angle to his left shoulder to allow ease of access. The pants that he wears are somewhat lose fitting as well, but also fitted with cargo pockets of varying size, and some of which are hidden along the waistband (like batman's gadget belt, but hidden inside.)
Character's Mental Description: Asato can best be described as a wildcard. At times he has been known to be almost childish, and has even been seen to play with random children, or getting into other juvenile hi-jinks. However, to say that Asato is childish would be like saying that a bird is a feather, in that saying his childishness seems to be more of a slight part of what he really is. Other times Asato seems very quiet and brooding, almost to the point of introversion, when he gets like this (which is in direct competition for the amount of time he spends playing tiddlywinks with the schoolyard runts) he avoids speaking to anybody he doesn't already know, and even those that he does know have a hard time coaxing much more than a few syllables from him. And the rest of the time that any particular person may have spent on evaluating the infinitely interesting depths of what makes Asato do what Asato does, might be defined as flashes of an emotion that were gone so fast that the observer is often left wondering if they had even seen a change in his expression. In reality, Asato is very observational of his surroundings, and uses his childish nature to throw off those that are around him, and often to gain their trust. He mostly distrusts people, and has an internal dislike to most people that is the equivalent of what a person would feel when looking at a cockroach crawling over a big steaming pile of excrement wriggling with maggots.
History: Naito Asato was born in a ditch by the roadside in a medium sized village not far from Iwagakure to a homeless woman who had born her bastard into the world without even remembering his fathers name. Small, weak, and premature, Asato was never suspected of having a longevity past a week or two. However, despite all bets, Asato had thrived, and survived. The same, though, could not be said for his mother, who died a month and a half later of starvation after being cast away from the village. Asato, though, was taken into the village orphanage, where he lived a dirty and overlooked existence with his brethren of squalid birth. The orphans at the orphanage were treated poorly by the citizens of the village, often ignored, but mostly treated as if they were at fault for their own existence, as well as the woes of the villages financial situations. Most of the other orphans that were at the orphanage at the time of his arrival stayed in his life there, and were all often the object of scorn, sometimes violence, from the villagers which in a few instances resulted in the death of a few of the kids over the years.
By age 8, Asato had become a scrapper, one of the toughest fighters among the other children, and learned how to wear the shadows about him like a cloak, and had stolen enough food and valuables from the village to keep his poor brothers from the brink of starvation for years. One day, when he was 11, the villagers had finally decided that the orphanage had operated for long enough, and siphoned more from the village than should have been allowed. The children were cast out into the world on their own…. Most of them had went their separate ways.
Asato was alone, which suited him just fine. By this point he had stored up enough bile for other humans that he had barely gotten along with his fellow orphans, and was more than happy to be rid of their presence. After a year or two of traveling, he had learned that it paid to put on a puppet show when he met new people, act like a dunce, like a damn baboon if needed. Doing so had ensured him that most people would leave him alone, assuming him to be a feeb, or just an ordinary kid. Then there were those that even thought a feeb might have something of value, and were tricked into a false sense of security by his show, allowing him to turn the tables on the would be thieves, and often resulted in them waking up with a massive headache, stark naked in the middle of nowhere with their ass to the wind.
Around what he assumed was the first month of his 13th year, Asato met a man who actually did fascinate him. Not in that the man treated him with any decency, as the man had taken no notice of him, but in the way the man seemed to have an affect on those around him. Other people would react to the mans presence in one of two ways, they would either turn from him outright, and later speak of how afraid that he had been anywhere near them, or they would run up to him and offer him gifts, supposedly to keep him from doing them harm. Fascinated by how this man strode amongst man as if he were god himself, Asato had followed him, trying to discern what it was about him that had affected these people so. He later heard what it was, the man was a ninja! These men were afraid of him because ninja were killers, or so they said, and lapdogs of the government of the land. With this knowledge in mind, Asato then set out on his journey to become the most fearsome, awe demanding ninja he could be, and headed towards Iwagakure.
