Appearance
Akemi stands around five feet three inches in height, with a build that is graceful and slim, but her long limbs still athletic. She has eyes of a mild grey, color tones like those of stormclouds soon to abate, shaped round and wide, always appearing either observant or surprised. Her hair frames her face with a chocolaty brown, cut short at her shoulders and straight as an arrow. From the bottom of her right shoulder blade to just an inch away from her neck is a wide scar.

Akemi can be clever and strategic, yet she lacks in wit and sympathy that often could seem obvious to others. She has a hard time relaxing, though it is usually easier for her around those she is familiar with. She likes being alone rather than in large groups, and especially dislikes small spaces and others being within close proximity, or within her 'personal space'. She has little trust for strangers, unless they give her a good reason to trust her. She puts on a strong front, but, if surprised or unsure of herself, she may act a bit timider than usual. Akemi can be loyal to death, though she's only ever had one reason to do so, and she plans on upholding it.
Akemi is not the sharpest, on account of a lack of a teacher or guide, but still being as young as she is, this could be easily mended. She is interested in understanding new things and may even tinker around with something until she knew how it worked if she didn't have another way of finding out. She has the curiosity of any scientist, but the lack of education necessary. Recently, she grew more reserved and began to prefer staying within familiar things, though with enough change to keep things from getting boring.

History
The village of the mist can be a hard place to grow up, and this was proven in Akemi's short life. She had not been born into any particularly special family, but after she turned Nine that didn't matter. She lost her family in a fight, a riot of sorts, that broke out when one man insulted a group of men, and soon it grew into a huge, dangerous fight. She had not been present, Akemi had been home alone, and she never quite found out why her parents had gone without her. She had been told by one of the Mist Shinobi, who hadn't been a very comforting person, nor any helpful, leaving the girl totally alone after explaining the news.
Then she declined rapidly. She had never had much money, but having none made it impossible to live... morally. She learned how to steal, and almost perfected the art by the time she was Eleven. Almost.
It was when she was twelve, getting close to thirteen, that she found herself in a bad situation. Akemi had stolen from the wrong bunch of men, one of which was a rogue Shinobi, a rather unfortunate coincidence. The girl found herself bound in rope and tied to a small boulder, then thrown off a cliff, which was rather painful when she bashed her shoulder on a stone. She had blacked out, but when she awoke, she had been saved! Her hero was Nakamura Kurai. Quite unaccustomed to help, she felt like she owed him her life. She swore to repay the debt a million times over if she could.
