Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This additional element may be unlearned after three months and in which the user is able to apply for a new element, able to transfer these ranks to another Advanced Element or Ninjutsu of their choice.

- This ability is automatically gained upon fulfilling the above requirements.
- This Ability does not take up an ability slot.
- If a C-Rank or higher Missing/Rogue does not have either Medical Knowledge or Shadow Tactics, then they gain this ability.

  • If the user dodges an attack, the user may declare a jutsu to be used as a counterattack against the attacker at +1 Accuracy/DC. The user pays all costs normally.

  • The user is capable of prioritizing 1 AP worth of actions per round which are modded as 0 AP but all costs are paid as normal.

    • - Grants the user 5 Prep slots. Prep slots are not extra inventory slots, but allow for up to 5 special effects.
      - May prep a weapon to have 1 free basic strike that is counted as a Sneak Attack. If used while in stealth the user has a 25% chance to remain in Stealth. May be used multiple times on a single weapon costing a Prep slot each time.
      - May prep a weapon to be poisoned by an injury type Poison.
      - May attach items to other items (see the items themselves for details) for 0 AP and can be prepared prior to battle.

    Notes:
    • - Any item that has a special effect requiring Strategist takes up a Prep slot.
      - Any jutsu that requires Strategist to do something before battle requires a Prep slot

05. Healing Factor(as of 09/07/13)
  • [spoilername="Effect"]- The user gains 3% Max HP at the end of each round.
    - All Medical Jutsu are +10% more effective on the user.
    Special Action - Quick Healer: At the end of a round the user may choose to pay CP equal to 5% of the damage done to the player during the round, to regain 5% of the HP lost by the player during the round.[/spoilername]
06. Hyperactive(as of 09/07/13)
  • Effect: The user regains +3% of their Max CP back at the beginning of every round.

07. Earth - Chakra Style(as of 02/26/14)
[spoilername="Effect"]The user may choose a single effect from Offensive OR Defensive. Re-entering the style at the cost of 0.5 AP allows the user to change effects.

  • • Offensive:
    • o Shatter: Whenever the user uses a Offensive Earth-Based Attack, it has a chance of inflicting Shatter penalty on a limb.
      • * Shatter penalty cannot be healed by any means for the remainder of the battle.
        * Shatter raises the called shot of a random limb by 1 level.
        * Called shot level cannot reach Broken status unless the user has the Called Shot ability. Should the random limb selected be one which has maxed out it's Called shot penalty then this has no effect.
        * Base Chance of inflicting Shatter is 5%. May only be increased with Called Shot Chance buffs up to a maximum of 15%.
      o After Quake the user may treat non-maintainable Offensive Earth based jutsu as a maintainable jutsu by paying 70% of the chakra cost per round for a maximum of 2 rounds. Maintaining jutsu this way gives the attacks a -2 penalty to hit the target again and -10% base damage. This effect lasts for up to two rounds and requires a full round of cool down before it may be used again.
      • * During the round of cool down the user gains +4% to the secondary effect of Earth Jutsu for every earth jutsu used after the first capping at +16%

    • Defensive:
    • o Craggy Exterior: Melee Contact against the user has 15% chance of inflicting Suppression against the attacker.
      • *Melee contact is when the user attacks with melee accuracy or is attacked with melee accuracy.
      o Gaia's Veil: Whenever the user performs an Earth-based Action, they gain +0.5 Stealth, capping at +2 Stealth. The user may trade their +2 Stealth for the ability to attempt to enter stealth as a free action.
      • *Using the Stealth free action removes the +2 Stealth buff before the Awareness check.
        *This may only be done twice per round.

08. Fire - Chakra Style(as of 02/26/14)

[spoilername="Effect"]The user may choose a single effect from Offensive OR Defensive. Re-entering the style at the cost of 0.5 AP allows the user to change effects.

  • • Offensive:
    • o Flare Blitz: Twice per round, the user can add 10% of their previous fire jutsu's total damage to their next fire attack.
      • * Damage gained from previous Fire-based attack is considered Extra/additional damage and may not be buffed by any means.
      o After Burner: Upon entering this style, the user sends out a wave to up to 3 targets, which deals 10% of the total damage done by the user's Fire-based Attacks done in the round up to that point. While maintaining this style, at the beginning of each round, the user is capable of sending out a new wave that deals damage equal to 10% of their Fire damage dealt in the previous round.
      • * The After Burner wave requires a nin-check.
        *After Burner's Damage cannot be Buffed by any means.

• Defensive:
  • o Flare Touch: Melee contact with the user will result in extra damage being done to the attacker, dealing (25 / 75 / 125 / 250 / 300 / 400) Fire Damage. This damage can be Buffed up to 30%.
    • * Melee contact is when the user attacks with melee accuracy or is attacked with melee accuracy.
      * Damage done by Flare Touch is based on the user's OOC Rank, being (E / D / C / B / A / S) respectively.
      * Multi-Hits counts as one contact.
    o Heat Caress: At the beginning of every round, the user gains a Barrier equal to 15% of the total damage dealt by the user's Fire-base Attacks from the previous round. Lasts until the end of the round or against a single attack.
    • * Barrier does not prevent the users movements or impede the user's actions in any way.
      * AoE attacks only contribute to this barrier's HP once, using the highest damage dealt by the action.

09. Lightening - Chakra Style(as of 02/26/14)
[spoilername="Effect"]The user may choose a single effect from Offensive OR Defensive. Re-entering the style at the cost of 0.5 AP allows the user to change effects.

  • • Offensive:
    • o Static Charge: The user's Lightning-based actions have a 15% chance of being modded -1 Ap faster with an additional +5% chance at activating secondary effects. The chance of this activating is increased by +5% every time the user performs another Lightning-based action, stacking up to 30%.
      • * Resets at the end of the round.
        * Actions may not be modded below 0.5 AP.
      o Volt Jump: When the user performs a Lightning-based attack, any untargeted enemies who attacked the user within the last round have a 20% chance of being hit with an aftershock. This is checked against each potential target individually, and deals 40% of the attack's damage at -2 Accuracy.

    • Defensive:
    • o Static Slowdown: Melee contact with the user has a 15% chance to cause the target's next action to be modded as +1 AP.
      • * Melee contact is when the user attacks with melee accuracy or is attacked with melee accuracy.
        * May only occur against a single target three times per round.
      o Surge: The user gains +0.5 Dodge per Lightning-based Action done by the user the previous round, stacking up to +3.
      • * If the Dodge Bonus exceeds the +3, per 0.5 surpassing the caps grants the user +3% Auto-Dodge instead.

10. Wind - Chakra Style(as of 02/26/14)
[spoilername="Effect"]The user may choose a single effect from Offensive OR Defensive. Re-entering the style at the cost of 0.5 AP allows the user to change effects.

  • • Offensive:
    • o Inner Current: Wind-based attack(s) may automatically cut through half of any Damage Reduction by paying an additional +20% of their chakra cost. Basic Strikes may be used with this.
      • * This may be used twice per round.
      o Second Wind: Wind-based attacks may target an additional target, dealing -30% of the original damage to that additional target.

    • Defensive:
    • o Easy Breezy: While active, all Wind-based Actions deal 20% less damage. The user's Ninjutsu, Ranged, Melee Dodge buffs are multiplied by 1.5x.
      o Wind-Up: When the user fully dodges an attack, their attacker automatically takes damage equal to 5% of the attack's damage. This damage may be increased by the user's Wind Buffs.
      • *The user may choose a single effect from Offensive OR Defensive. Re-entering the style at the cost of 0.5 AP allows the user to change effects.

11. Water - Chakra Style(as of 02/26/14)
[spoilername="Effect"]The user may choose a single effect from Offensive OR Defensive. Re-entering the style at the cost of 0.5 AP allows the user to change effects.
  • • Offensive:
    • o Wild Waters: Water-based Attacks has 15% chance to attack an additional target.
      • * This increases by 5% whenever the user performs another Water-based Action.
        * Resets at the end of the round and caps at 40%.
        * User must specify the additional target. Failure to do so will result in a random target being attacked.
      o Free Flowing: Water-based Actions has 20% chance to ignore Barriers and Damage Reductions. Whenever the user is Suppressed, Fails an Action, or Loses AP due to an outside effect, the chance is increased by 7%.
      • * Resets at the end of the round.
        * The increase is counter by per successful lost. If they were to lose 2 AP in one hit, it will increase by 7%. If they were to lose 2 AP in two hits, it is increased by 14%.

    • Defensive:
    • o Reservoir: The user's Water-based actions cost -5% Cp. This bonus is increased by +5% every time the user performs another Water-based action, stacking up to 20%.
      • * Resets at the end of the round.
      o Soak: The user recovers Hp equal to 10% of any Water-Damage dealt to them at the end of the round. Maintained Water-based actions heal the user for 10% of their chakra cost as well.

Sneak Attack - Passive (3 points)
  • Restriction- C Rank and up
    • Many honor-bound fighters will make sure that their opponent is ready and aware before beginning a fight. Not so with the Opportunist. A turned back is an open target for them, a chance they don’t dare pass up.
      Effect: All the user's attacks have a 10% chance of being a Sneak Attack. All Sneak attacks gain +1 Critical and deal x2.5 damage upon a Critical hit; this does not stack with other critical damage modifiers.

Shadow Step - Passive (2 points)
  • Embracing the shadows, opportunists are adept in the art of covert fighting. They remain hidden from their victims until the moment they strike and even then leave their victims wondering where the attacker came from...and where they went.
    Effect: The user has a 30% chance at remaining in Stealth after performing a Sneak Attack. Once per round, the user may make a Sneak Attack without being dropped out of Stealth; this may only be done three times per battle.

Quick Step III - Boost (1 point x3)
  • Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
    • Opportunists have mastered the art of precision attacking, knowing just when and how to catch the opponent off-guard with their attacks. It is very difficult into tricking one with your movements, masters as they are in the art of it already.
      Effect: +1 accuracy (Ability taken three times)

Flash Counter II - Jutsu (1 point, 1 to rank up)
  • Restriction- A-Rank and Up
    This jutsu is the ultimate counterattack; defensive and offensive at the same time, leaving no openings and at the same time exploiting all of the enemy’s openings. In the blink of an eye, the user can evade any attack and appear behind the enemy, attacking immediately with utter impunity.
    • Rank 1: The user automatically dodges the next attack directed at them and appears behind the attacker. The user may then strike with 4 Basic Strikes or attack with any E-D Taijutsu for .5 AP less. These attacks count as sneak attacks, and cannot be countered, detected, or auto-dodged.
      Rank 2: The user automatically dodges the next attack directed at them and appears behind the attacker. The user may then strike with 6 Basic Strikes or attack with any E-C Taijutsu for 1 AP less. These attacks count as sneak attacks, and cannot be countered, detected, or auto-dodged.

    Cost: 2,500 Cp; 2.5 Ap

Tsuna

Tsuna is a black bear with a height of 10 ft. His greatest strength is the ability to adapt, and unlike his superior, Kuikorosu, Tsuna is capable in controlling his blood lust which grants him the mental prowess to think at a higher level as he is capable to know when to be aggressive, defensive or simply cautious of danger. Though he may be smaller in size, it grants him greater agility than many of the other bears. [spoilername="Red Rain Incident"][col]When the rains came it cooled those heated in the civil riots that shook Leaf City with the strife of three factions fighting in the streets of the slums of the Housing District. A peaceful afternoon that started off with the odd and sudden demotion of one of the Konoha Corporation’s lead Sennins ended his Kamaru tired looking for two rickshaws to pick up tired and unconscious bodies after a long drawn out riot. Senjua Kazuki, a pale odd fellow bent on the protection of the city and it’s people as the ANBU Sennin of Leaf City. The other being someone Kamaru pulled from the building meeting the Sennin of his own branch feet first as he drooled on himself having been embedded in the building as he landed bouncing off the side of a flying summoned ice beast. While it cooled heads it also sapped the strength of any it came in contact with in the form of their chakra. For civilians and samurai it probably didn’t seem that bad besides the endless raining ranging from a drizzle a downpour. The sky was either black or grey making those in the City wonder if Hell itself had come up from the Epicenter. Kamaru opted to hide from the rain in an umbrella at first but in truth a full body suit was the only way he found to truly slow the sapping on his chakra and even then he’d slowly get depleted.|

Some fought for their survival in the streets, others clawed their way desperately out of the remains. The city had gone to ahead pretty quickly for the shinobi. Kamaru having played his part for the Operation to evacuate looked up when they were finally out of the city to see the sun peek through clouds for the first time in several weeks of non-stop fighting in a guerilla style war. Laughing and giggling like a madman he removed his mask and smirked. It could always be cloudy in your mind and heart but it was always sunny someplace he thought to himself as he looked up at a brighter day.|

As the click of the audio recorder came on the man pulled out a pen and looked at Kamaru

”We’re recording now, state your full name.” the man asked.

”Namamoto Kamaru” Kamaru replied.

Early Childhood
New employee by the name of Namamoto Kamaru grew up moving from various orphanages to various foster homes at an early age with a high frequency or turn around. Subject stated he didn’t feel it was due to him acting out just circumstances seemed to push him in certain directions and his attitude made it easier to dump him right back into an orphanage since you can’t really get attached to a kid with little signs of a personality and nothing that stands out about them.</COLOR><i></i> Initial Psyche evaluation needed.
Subject thought he would move out once he had enough skills at taking care of himself. It was stated the foster home reported him missing but subject stated since he got on a bus with a family headed someplace else the report ended up with him being possible kidnapped or killed within a month all evidence of his whereabouts vanished. In retrospect subject figured he was a bit of a con man in the making growing up. He didn’t mind sleeping outside but getting food seemed rough at times without being a little dishonest. Unconfirmed – Subject stated likely area missing person’s report was filled with the time frame of the possible year and month. Place of residency states as Black Lantern Town a known area associated with criminals and underground dealings.<i></i>
Initial employment
It was on one of those days he was thinking about the fact that kids seldom can find work when someone asked if he wanted a job. Being a loner type he was pretty suspicious but since they admitted they knew what he had been doing and for now they just needed a lookout. Negotiating a place to live as part of the payment he took the job. It was easy enough to watch some guy go into a bar and then back to his car with some lady. When people asked he just explained he was waiting for his dad to finish talking to the lady and he’d point. There were enough flushed looks and awkward pauses no one really continued talking to him after that. Subject stated nicknames of known criminals affiliated to crime organizations and gangs known commonly in Black Lantern Town

Surveillance went pretty smoothly, later investing in binoculars, a listening device, and a lunchbox for longer stakeouts went to settling up a decent place to live for a while. It’d be nice if this is the part of the story where Kamaru moved on to bigger and better things but in truth this is the part where they get a little more blacker and Kamaru became a little more bitter at the word.

It wasn’t normal for a kid to be living on his own people seemed to think. Granted if he was paying his rent, getting his own groceries, and cooking for himself he didn’t see the problem. Granted he knew very well the money he was making was slightly questionable. Private investigation is a rough business regardless of one’s age so slightly questionable was acceptable.

Kamaru met a breaking point in his ‘career’ the first time he saw something a little too underground since he had never experienced it. Shinobi. Not assassins dressed like ninjas but real ninjas using what seemed like magic. Unlike normal assassination techniques and weapons that could be traced it became a little over the top Kamaru thought. His higher ups didn’t seem so bothered though when he’d report things about a target he was trailing was killed by fireball he didn’t get a call back to explain. It was just expected.

Recruiting
<COLOR color="#000000">When he was called in to take a test he thought it a bit odd. The strange thing was the guy giving the test. He definitely wasn’t in the business by his attitude and demeanor. The guy after administering the test asked if something was the matter. Kamaru being blunt stated the buy seemed off, the business Kamaru was in dealt with investigation, sabotage, even people being killed or kidnapped but this guy didn’t seem to gel with it even though he seemed use to it. The man simply asked if Kamaru was aware he was working for a criminal organization. When Kamaru stated that he was but he had to eat just like everyone else the man just stared at him. Kamaru wasn’t making light of the fact or putting on airs. The man was just shocked and stated he was surprised someone at his age seemed to act so much like an old man. Kamaru had never really had to fight but something about the comment had him swinging which made matters worse the guy started laughing and swatting Kamaru away. Subject stated man by the name of Ranjiro which matches the description of someone in the area on assignment. See internal affairs case file on Rangon Yajiro aka ‘Phi’

Kamaru found out he had passed the test and was being offered a job. It paid a lot better than doing surveillance but it was going to be a lot of work and a lot of studying since he was behind the curve for his age. Kamaru thought it odd at the remark since he was ten. He found out the job was being trained in the arts of Shinobi, figuring out on several occasions why although they had been highly illegal in the past why they were still around. Getting in and out of places unnoticed to due surveillance made life a lot easier granted some of the drinks he learned to use on a regular basis took him several months to learn. By the time he was nineteen he figured himself to be pretty well accomplished although he hadn’t really met that many other shinobi. He realized early on the man had pretty much trained and contracted him to help take out the nastier crime organizations. Innocent people weren’t harmed in the process and in some cases people weren’t killed even if they were bad people but used to get more intel and climb higher up the food chain in the criminal world to take them out. Eventually though all the major players were gone and what were left were so many little crews and empires from the fallout of broken organizations it was too fractured, then the bottom fell out of his current situation. Initial tests confirmed Subject has been training in chakra control and was mildly knowledgeable about counter intelligence methods and principles

The guy in charge, the guy who taught him, guided him, molded him was being brought in. Talk of unsanctioned missions, personal vendetta, teaching to outsiders, and a large string of investigations into the criminal organizations that were taken down causing more violence in a power vacuum than when the organizations were at war with each other. That’s were Kamaru found himself, looking at someone who’s career may or may not be down the tube since he had gotten burned on a mission with comrades killed after being tortured and family members becoming collateral damage Kamaru couldn’t blame the guy. In his mind he was probably justified. Kamaru though had a lot of thinking to do. Subject is referring to the raid of Rangon Yajiro’s safehouse where he was running personal missions from see case file for list of fabricated reports, misappropriations of funds, and use of knowledge and equipment outside the scope of his primary mission.

If he applied to work with this ‘corporation’ he’d have a job still. He wouldn’t have to be locked away for what he knew and what he did… hopefully. Plus he might be able to keep drawing a paycheck. Either way he needed to decide something. Sometimes he missed being a kid since his decisions had been easier. Currently Subject has implied he will be going to Leaf City to apply as a ‘contractor’. Subject seems unfamiliar with the process of being a shinobi and what it encompasses.
