History:
Tenken was born in a small village just outside of Fire Country’s borders to a group of traveling merchants. For the first few years of life, time was spent on the move. After they were old enough to begin helping, their day was an early rise to help clean the wagon, helping dad with counting stock, helping mom with sewing and cooking, and other such things. They even got to help dad with sales if the innocent smile of a child could sway a customer. This life was good, and lasted until the child was eight.
It was at this point that one customer, upon finding the grinning kid, gave their own smile. A feral look given to prey before the pounce. Even the naïve child knew something was off and called for their dad. A fight broke out then, first verbal before the man moved to physical altercation, pulling a kunai from his robe and throwing it into dad’s shoulder. As mom came running from the back room with a rolling pin she was blown aside by a gale, sending her slamming into the wagon to slump to the ground.
“This kid is the property of Kumogakure. He’s got the spark. If you do not cease your resistance I am authorized to use lethal force.”
It was at this point that Tenken came running at the man on his own, a large cutting knife in hand. They were handily disarmed and restrained, as dad tried to rouse mom and the aggressor, a shinobi known as Eiji, absconded with the child. Dad gave chase, and soon a shinobi from nearby Konoha also joined in. Eiji was forced to abandon the child after a brutal fight with the Konoha ninja. During the fight, he unleashed his Jinchuuriki power, and the resulting blast destroyed the child’s legs and one of his arms.
Dad got to the kid first, and was soon joined by the Konoha shinobi, who explained he could help the toddler but would need to take them into the village hidden in the leaves to do so. And the man could not come. So Tenken was taken into medical care. And the shinobi who saved their life, a member of the Isaki clan, informed them that their mother and father died in the explosion that took his limbs. He asked if Tenken, upon gaining new limbs, would like to train to avenge them. It was an easy decision.
Tenken trained hard in the Academy, taking lessons and exercises with a passion. They made a close friend here also, a young boy named Tsu. The two became quite inseparable as they moved into their teen years, and romance blossomed. Tsu was wonderful, accepting, and helped bolster Tenken’s flagging esteem. They both moved into the ANBU Branch as AiTs at the same time, and went on several missions together.
During one such mission, they were attacked by rogue shinobi. Both fought bravely as they waited on backup, but the rogues were strong. Tsu and Tenken both were outmatched, and suffered grievous wounds. Tenken recovered, the mechanical limbs providing less ways to wound them and giving them some measure of extra defense. Tsu did not survive, passing as Tenken slipped in and out of consciousness beside him. Tenken, in their grieving, took a part of Tsu to keep with them forever, using his shin bone to create a tanto for use in combat.
Tenken has been serving in the ANBU branch since, trying to get a promotion to go after Eiji, who they believe killed their parents so many years ago.

Physical Description:
Tenken stands at an even 5 feet in height, short even for a anyone of their age. They also have a very slight build, weighing in just above 110lbs. Their pink hair, occasionally short but often long, does its part in framing a round, soft face that can be mistaken for either gender with ease. Bright yellow-gold eyes peek out over a small button nose and full lips made for smiling. Tenken often wears loose fitting clothes to hide their body. A t-shirt under a zipped up hoodie with baggy pants is a favorite. On some occasions, however, they’re forced to wear something more properly fit and it reveals their body to naturally be rather curvy.
Perhaps the most interesting physical aspect they have is their limbs. Due to an incident in their early years, Tenken has lost both legs and their right arm. These have been replaced by mechanical prosthetics that use chakra similar to how puppets work in order to not only control them but pass along signals their brain can interpret as feeling, in a way. They are, however, far more durable which can lead to excessive recklessness from Tenken.

Mentally, Tenken is best described as a good person in a bad situation. The kidnapping they underwent as a child, added onto by the training they went under and watching their only friend be killed has left them quite jaded towards things. Tenken will go out of their way to help someone in need, being cynical the entire time about the outcome and the results coming forth from that. Feeling themselves intelligent, Tenken has also taken up a political streak of late, believing they can keep their sympathies hidden from those in the know.
Tenken has very little preference on their gender identity, often dressing as one or the other based on a whim. Their physical shape helps with them as they can quite easily pass as a male with some tight bindings, or as a female without. They also have a trollish nature sometimes, using this to mess with others and get around people who are looking out for one or the other.
Tenken is an avid lover of reading and exploring, and likes games based around puzzles. They’re often the type in video games who choose the “righteous” path because they believe in the good outcomes, but all the while complain about how the other path likely gives the better rewards. They are a firm believer that humanity as a whole is a disease on the planet, but will do what they can to help individuals believing everyone deserves a happy, fruitful life.
