Kei is a young girl with long purple hair often tied in a pony tail with eyes matching the colour of her hair. Thin but curvy, her body kept slim through her rigorous training and diet. She has a bit of a baby face, her eyes reflecting cheerfulness and youth. Her usual choice of dress is light, consisting of a camisole that reveals her midriff and jeans. With an average height(155 cm) and weight(49 kg), it's quite easy to dismiss her as an average girl if not for the blade she's always carrying around, a katana sword with a rather unique hilt that takes the appearance of a sakura flower.
Mental Description:
Most of the time, people would find Kei to be a cheerful and sociable person to those who would approach her with friendly intent. She even affectionately refer to her sword as Hana-chan which she would carry everywhere with her, refusing to part with her "partner". Underneath this attitude however, there is a serious and realistic side of her which would surface should the ones she care about is in danger or she find a worthy opponent, the latter of which is part of her single minded desire to do everything in her power to become stronger. Every new challenge were seen to be opportunities for her to learn and become a better fighter.
History:
Kei was born as an only child in an average family in Konohagakure with her parents.
Ever since she was a young lass, her father taught her swordsmanship and often regale her with tales of samurai from distant land. This fostered the desire for her to become strong but being born in Konohagakure, the only path to do so is by becoming a shinobi. Initially her father was opposed to her decision, even going so far as to limit his lessons and forcing the girl to train mostly on her own. Thus when she first joined the academy at the age of twelve, her father was noticeably absent and she was only accompanied by her mother. Kei's personality allowed her to make friends easily and though she was capable to follow her lessons theoretically when it came to practical application Kei noticed that she can barely catch up to her classmates especially when it comes to the aspect of ninjutsu and genjutsu. Despite her ineptitude however, she continued to work hard at it and even willing to skip play time with others for her remedial lesson. It was this stubborness that changed her father's mind before he decided to resume their lesson and teach her swordsmanship seriously.
Like duck to water, it didn't take long for Kei to absorb her lessons taught as she was proven to be quite natural with it. Soon after she graduated from the academy and unlike when she first joined, this time she was greeted by both her parents. Her greatest surprise however was when her father bestowed upon her, their family heirloom as a sign of recognizing her capabilities and she made a vow not to dissapoint them both.
Bloodline Application(Nanjirou):
When Kei's father bestowed upon her the blade, he made her promise to take care of it like it's a part of her own body. While she intended to do so anyway even without his promise, she cannot help but feel there was more to it than he was willing to tell. Direct inquiries did not bear any result save for a knowing smirk and a "You'll see". Frustrating it may be sometimes, it had always been her father's favored technique of teaching.
The night she recieved the blade, Kei had bought a sword polish kit to take care of her blade in her room. After putting her kit to the side, she drew the blade from the scabbard to inspect the blade on where she should start. Not that there was anything much to take care of, despite it's supposed age the blade may as well be forged as recently as yesterday. Not a single crack or chip can be seen on the blade, the only sign of age she can see was on the scabbard and the hilt. The craftsmanship was on entire level compare to the swords she had seen around the village, yet none of it's ornamental design is a detriment. The blacksmith who forged the blade that blended both practicality and art.
Upon testing the sharpness of the blade with the tip of her finger, she blinked as there was a flash of light and her surrounding warped in an instance. Before this she was in her bedroom yet in a blink of an eye, she was inside a forest surrounded by shinobi on all sides. It took her a moment to notice that they wear foreign armor but most important of all they do not look friendly, if anything it looked as if they were more than eager to cut her down with their killing intent. While Kei was confident in her swordsmanship even she harbored doubt to fight multiple at once...especially since they all appeared to be well trained. She instinctively tried to talk to them to deescalate the situation yet her lips didn't move as she wished.
Suddenly the shinobi converged all around her and at that moment she knew that her life was forfeit. Out of instinct, she raised her arm to shield herself though she didn't think it would do much against their weapons. Yet, she didn't feel any pain and when she finally dared to open her eyes she saw a female warrior walking ahead of her, sheathing her blade. Her hair was tied in a pony tail, her feminine form covered in armor that came straight out of history books. For a moment she had forgotten about the danger of her surrounding before she was baptised by rain of blood. Everywhere, all around her crimson flower of life blooms from their assailants body as they crumpled to the floor like a marionette whose string had been cut. Initially she felt surprise and even fear though upon seeing the serene expression on her savior's face, she cannot help but feel admiration as well. But her savior did not stop to talk with her, instead she simply walked ahead if nothing had just happened.
Kei immediately reach out to her to catch her attention but was only rewarded with a sharp pain on her index finger. Hissing slightly, Kei retracted her hand as blood dripped down her finger. Upon looking up again instead of her savior, her eyes fell upon a sword and when she look at her surrounding, she find herself in her room once more. For a few moments she wondered if she had just daydream the whole thing, yet everything felt so vivid to her. Was this vision what her father meant by she'll see? The throbbing pain reminded her sharply that she still needed to tend to her finger injury so for now she put aside all the questions she wanted to ask her father. With her back completely turned to her blade she reached out to grab a bandage, completely oblivious that the blade glinted on it's own.
