Ren is often made a loner because of this.
History/bloodline
Ren was born into the Nanjirou clan, from whom his father was of the clan, but her mother was not. Her father wanted the best for her, let her try all of his own weapons, which a lot of them were in the Holy nature. But, at five years old, when she got to try to speak to the ancient blades handed down from generation to generation, she found that none of the spirits from within these ancient weapons made their presence known to her. It was from that moment on, that people started to question her father, who was known as the Angel Guard of the Nanjirou, famous for his own ancient holy sword, Deity's Scar. They questioned his morals, for as to why Ren couldn't connect with either the Holy or Spiritual ancient weapons that were presented to her. There was only one answer to their questions. Present her with a blade that belonged to a spirit that was evil. Her parents denied the fact that this could happen, and kept her away from such swords for six years. On Ren's eleventh birthday, she dared ventured into the basement of her parents house and found the walls lined with weapons and blades that had sinister like energies coming off of them. She could hear the blades speak to her, giving her promises of power and strength. She now knew of why the other ancient blades didn't react to her. She reached out to pick one up when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. She turned around to see her father.
"Ren. You shouldn't be in here." Her father told her.
But Ren was angry, how could her father keep this from her? "Did you kill all of these people?" She could hear one spirit in particular telling her of how her father had aquired these weapons.
Her father bowed his head and said, "Yes. I did it for the sake of the Village. To keep you safe. You don't understand the type of people they were."
But Ren wouldn't listen, as soon as she heard him say that, she grabbed for the nearest weapon and stabbed him through with it. Tears rolling down her face as she had done it. Shocked at what she had done, she dropped the sword and ran out of the house as fast as she can.
Nowadays she lives on her own, understanding her destiny. Her fate. Knowing that she connected with a weapon back inside that basement was all that she needed in order to push forward. That spirit that talked to her, right before everything happened. It made her feel not as lonely and felt like an outcast as she thought. Ren plans on going back inside that house to claim that sword that chose her. With it, she will feel complete.
But until that time comes, Ren will just have to get stronger and learn the secrets that her father has always hidden away from her. And after that, she will have what she needs, and learn the history behind the sword that chose her along with the spirit that helped her out.
