His build was somewhere between light and moderate, dexterously wiry often used to describe his physique, not that he ever really waltzed about in such a way as to make that apparent. No, he tended to wear loose, psychedelically colored yukata, or overlarge haori over a simple tunic and hakama, both of which are usually much more tame in their coloration, sticking to solid colors rather than the louder admixture of his over-clothes. On his back he nearly always had his favorite instrument, a hand-crafted shamisen, and between his fingers he often idly toyed with the bachi, or pick, of it similar to the way some flipped coins around between their fingers or knuckles. His hair was longer, tied off behind his head into a messy ponytail that fell about halfway down between his shoulder blades, and he was often seen with a toothpick, cigarette or stick of sawgrass between slightly mis-aligned teeth that added to the overall scruffy charm of his 5 o' clock shadow, mildly tanned complexion and the ever-present pair of rayband-style sunglasses he wore. While not exactly hippie, his demeanor and way of moving did suggest a personality of supreme at ease with the world around him. Character's Mental Description: "What's with all the questions, man? Sit back and chillax a little." He was very at ease with the world and what happened in it, taking things one step at a time and very rarely getting flustered over even the most serious of situations. Not that he didn't take anything serious, he simply didn't think that the emotional response to situations warranted any exaggerated representation of feeling, though his actions would follow suit in a way appropriate to fit the situation, depending on the level of severity it had. He never seemed to look at anyone or anything in particular, and neither did he ever seem to be visually focusing on his instrument as he played; the Hashigaki blood within him made obvious by how at ease he was with his music, though he rarely fully vocalized, mostly humming along to his plucked tunes. If it wasn't obvious by now, his mental state was one of calm balance in all things, laid back only scratching at the surface of his easygoing nature. Character History: He was born not far outside of Port Cirrus along the coast of lightning country, where the altitude and chill air didn't prevent him from managing something of a tan. Born blind, he still managed to show signs at a young age of being able to navigate with a preternatural ease through his surroundings. When he took his first steps, silencing those in the room, he still managed to walk his way toward his parents. It was obvious he'd inherited the abilities of a Hashigaki, which had occurred infrequently throughout his extended family tree. Despite not knowing the joy of color or the shallowness of judging someone by their physical apperance - that is a joy.. right? - he still grew up to be rather care free, even learning to sail in the waters outside of his home, a feat, to be sure, for a blind man but not so much for a hashigaki. He'd never learned to read or write traditionally because.. well, he was blind, but that gave him quite an edge; he learned braille, and just to mess with some he learned sign language in order to communicate with the blind, being able to make out the gestures needed even if he couldn't make out finer details quite as well, like faces. To be honest it probably saved him from a lot of sights that he would have otherwise regretted. He was classmates with Bugendai Ketsueki, quickly becoming friends with the medical aspirant and graduating to ninja status alongside him, though he remained within the main branch and progressed through the ranks in a rather standard fashion. He maintained his friendship with the guy, however, despite their different duties to the village. It wasn't long after achieving Chuunin that he managed to add to that 'circle' of friends one more person; Hachiashi Haji the Hachimon, or at least Haji had confessed to wanting to learn said Hachimon arts, and honestly Ting Pao got quite the kick out of saying it. Now a Jounin, he had somehow managed to maintain and even enhance his laid back outlook and lifestyle, taking his responsibilities about as seriously as he did everything else. One thing was for sure; he probably should have been a Nara. Clan Request: Death/Retirement Thread: N/A Old Profile:

Name: Nara Ryuujin(It's in the title.) Age: 65 Height: 6'4 Character's Physical Description: At 65 years of age, Ryuujin's demonic attributes really shown. The man didn't look a day over 45, and quite a few days younger, his jet black hair peppered with a few, stylish streaks of cloudy-weather grey, he wasn't yet a silverback by any means. Crows feet were beginning to show at the corners of his eyes, and now that he'd had a family for a solid twenty or more years, those crow's feet came from laughter generated by things other than the pain, confusion, and general misery of others. This former Sennin returned to active service did not let the years pass by uselessly; he was still at his fighting fittest, toned and defined form hidden by his customary personally tailored zoot suit, fedora, and walking stick. Though, if you asked him, it was a cane, the snake's head figure at the top still there, still silver, and still studded with deep red garnet's for eyes. Speaking of eyes, HIS eyes were, once more, of a celestial nature upon a backdrop of utter black, the multicolored iris and pupil of his reminiscent of a supernova caught mid-blast, the lack of any real definition to their shape, as if the tiny particles that made said parts up were constantly aswirl within his sockets of emptiness was.. just a plus. Character's Mental Description: Contrary to popular belief, Nara Ryuujin was not insane. No, having had his mind broken due to stress, lack of sleep, and troubles of the village long, long ago, he did not lose his mind. He found it. Defeating the onrush of insanity that usually followed a detached self-evaluation as event conspired to push and pull you in direction different from where you wanted to go, he came to the realization that running from parts of yourself was the real insanity, those darker desires, conclusions and instincts that drove you onward despite your own irrational fear of them. Embracing the Dark Side, as it were, allowed him to achieve a balance of mental fortitude that was hard to match, and despite the lack of understanding that he was often presented with, people should have learned this one thing about him: He always meant what he said, and he always said what he meant. Threats were a bluff, and to bluff was to lie, to offer someone something you weren't actually going to commit to. Well. He was committed. And he was back Character History: Born and raised in Cloud, Ryuujin became a Genin under the kageship of Kagetsu Kiyo, first Raikage. As a chuunin, he witnessed, and was changed by, the collapse of Cloud as a mass suicie at the gates following the desertion of Eimin and Sarunishi, at the time joint Raikages, and shifted his goals to become ANBU, becoming Cloud's first Drunken Boxing ANBU Nara, later Captain after his Demonic Ancestry manifested itself, pushing formant his Nara genes, though he maintained his place as the Nara Clan head due to the fact that just because he couldn't manifest the abilities any longer, did not change his bloodline. Running the underground of Cloud to keep its criminal face clean while he was Sennin, Ryuujin became a well known part of Cloud, other village membrs from Leaf and Mist, when they visited, even becoming personal friends with him. However, when his brother was ousted by a political entity that had never existed before declared Shinbatsu Raikage, at the time a regular ANBU damn near living in Leaf, Ryuujin presented Shinbatsu with his retirement papers, whereupon he left Cloud's gates and traveled throughout Lightning Country with his adopted daughter Eskiimo Michiku, a name he gave her after finding her, four years old, in the snow. Like an eskimo. Eventually, he met a woman named Kimi, and they got married, had a family, and lived happily for twenty years. Then, on an overly dramatic and rainy, fateful day, with lightning flashing, and someone, somewhere, probably stupid, getting killed from a flood or something, you know that happens. Anyway, rambling on: Fateful day, yadda yadda, a messenger arrived from what meager connections he had maintained with Cloud informing him of Masao's death. And so, with the list of active Old Guard members dwindling, Ryuujin decided that it was time to return.
