Name: Nara Taishō
Age: 11
Gender: Male
General Description:
Taishō is a small child, even for his age, only around 4’4. His eyes are a stormy grey color, matching his hair, and his gaze is piercing and sharp, almost seeming to blame the subject of his attention for some unknowable grudge. He is skinny, almost dangerously so; his ribs would be visible through his chest if he ever removed his jacket. He exhibits the laziness typical of his clan, but in a different manner. While a stereotypical Nara might avoid responsibilities out of nihilism or stubbornness, Taishō’s sloth comes from a feeling of dejected loneliness, e.g. “why should I contribute to this society which has forsaken me?” He's not wise, but he is clever and tricky, having learned how to deceive and manipulate others to get what he wants, be it food, jewellery, or anything else. He wears a long sleeved dark green jacket, with the Nara Clan symbol emblazoned on the back in faded black paint.
History: Like most of the ninja born during his generation, he was born as a refugee. His parents were both loyalists to the Leaf and decided to not take refuge in the other cities but fight for the village they grew up in. However in war, people die and children are orphaned. Taishō is one of those cases. Both his father and mother died in battle against the samurai, filling the young boy with an incredible amount of resentment for them. Like most orphans, especially those who are refugees he was not provided with all that a growing boy would need. He lived in the same regimental camp that his parents had left him in. He spent his days sharpening ninja tools and carrying things around the camp to make for his pay. He was too meek to demand many things, so often he would go hungry which would sooner attribute to his smaller size. You can’t grow if you can’t eat, at least that’s what his mother would tell him before she died. When the leaf ninjas finally overthrew the Daimyo’s occupation Taishō was placed into an apartment within the village. Given a small monthly stipend paid by the village’s mission income. After a few months of getting readjusted to his new surroundings he finally asked his chaperone to enlist him into the ninja academy. He didn’t want to become a ninja, he didn’t really want to do anything. He had gained the typical lazy trait that is too common in the Nara clan, but he decided it would be better than wasting away inside this apartment, alone. Maybe he could make a friend or two, but if not, who cares at least he’d know a few cool tricks that would make his life easier. If he could learn the shadow clone jutsu he wouldn’t have to get out of bed to turn on the lights in the morning.
