Personality: Quiet and introverted, Jo is more often than not seen with his face buried in a book. He doesn’t talk much, but when he does he’s very blunt and always speaks his mind. His sense of humor is… a bit off. He’s been known to ruin a good joke by either explaining the reason why it is funny or taking it one step too far. He’s very mature for his age, and enjoys reading texts on philosophical and political theory, as well as prose and satire based on those theories. Though he has a secret weakness for fantasy novels and relishes the thought of one day being a knight-in-shining-armor for a damsel in distress.
History: Raised by a caring and loving family, Jo has never wanted for anything. His father, once a field medic in the local Daimyo’s army, now manages the offices of a civilian hospital in Kumogakure. His mother is a medical-coder in the same hospital. Of late, Jo has been feeling an undying yearning for adventure and physical and mental challenge as well as a strong desire to serve and protect those who can not protect themselves. His father suggested a military school and joining the army when he grows up, while his mother wants him to stay in school and become a doctor or a lawyer. However, both decided to support him when he chose to join the shinobi academy and become a ninja. With a cynical idealism, and an uncompromising drive to succeed, Jo enters the academy. In a world where he feels so small, he can’t stop thinking big.
