Hiroshi is a slight child, relatively small of frame and not at all the stereotypical image of a warrior. However, his looks are reminiscent of his family members, and a result he has not had a chance to feel as though he is inferior to others. The reason for this is that, while others may be blessed with the physical abilities and attributes which would put them forward as front line fighters, Hiroshi has always viewed himself as the man to back up his team and to support them for the rear. Whereas some might view this as cowardice or a lack of courage, Hiroshi knows the truth; he is simply much more useful offering his abilities from the back lines where his inherent knowledge of tactics and strategies can be best employed.
In terms of appearance, Hiroshi has a shock of fairly long, silvery hair that tumbles clumsily around his face. Dark brown eyes project intelligence and a smile which shows amusement at any situation downplay any anxiety or worries which he may be feeling. The clothes he chooses to wear are relatively non-descript and boring, but for him they feel comfortable and practical, and in his eyes that is all that really matters; battle isn't a fashion show after all.
The first thing people would say about Hiroshi's personality is that he is relatively laid back and carefree. However, those who know him outside of his family and the academy would say that he spends more effort in seeming to not care than he does in actually advancing his studies. The young shinobi can regularly be found going over his notes and revising for tests away from prying eyes, seemingly trying to hide his own ability behind a facade of not caring about how he is perceived.

Hiroshi was a quiet child, revelling in the love that he received from his parents and other relatives and generally being described as bubbly before any other word when he was a baby. However, as he grew up he began to withdraw somewhat, and as a toddler many would describe him as shy and reluctant to go out and make friends. No one could say that the child was unhappy in any way, but there seemed to be a reluctance about him which many could not place, merely to acknowledge.
The older Hiroshi got, the more he would be seen as reluctant to really get involved in the matters of socialising, and there was more than a bit concerned that his natural inclination to remain away from other people might be a problem he would not be able to deal with later in life. However, there was one activity that Hiroshi would revel in and would not avoid; reading. The young boy would seek stories wherever he could find them, and it was this particular love which led to the necessary breakthrough for him to really connect with the family and friends who had been so concerned with him previously. His relatives who travelled abroad would share their stories of adventure and intrigue with the young boy, and his rapt attention was enough to keep them speaking, sparing no details as they laid out the truth of the world to the youngster as they shared their stories of battle, exploration and intrigue.
Somewhere before his ninth birthday, Hiroshi's family approached him about the interest he paid to the stories of battle and strategy and recommended that he think about learning at the academy and making himself useful to the village that had harboured him and provided him with the stories which allowed him to break out of his shell with 'regular' people. The idea was greatly accepted by the young boy, however there was an inherant fear about standing out, and so he practiced day and night the ability to look unconcerned, adopting a facade of not caring that would, he hoped, hide him from the attention's of his fellows when he finally made the leap to fully learning exactly what it was to be a shinobi in the Leaf village.
