Character History:
The fate of Senju, who have little power can be called grim, however that would be putting it very lightly. A clan that boasts strength has a heavy reliance on rooting out weaklings. Saya was born worse than that, premature and without any ability to grow her own chakra system. A runt. A disgrace. Her frail and sickly body didn't help her either. Thus it was no surprise that she was outcast to a side branch of the Senju fairly early on in her life, where she was trained to be a servant of the main family.
It was there that she met her master, somebody who shared her fate, but had found a way to try and escape it. He had found a way to use chakra from the environment instead of from his own body, but this still had its limits and was by no means a source of unlimited power. Saya ended up being taken in by the man after her own parents abandoned her in order to try and erasae the disgrace that she had brought upon them.
Though her early years she was unable to do much and was bedridden for the majority of the time, almost falling to illness on multiple occasions, but still she survived and trained with her master, eventually acquiring the ability to draw chakra within her own body and using it to keep herself from falling appart.
As she grew older her abilities grew stronger, however that was not enough for her to be accepted by the main clan. This power was not her own after all and this was weakness. However she was still an asset and now that she was able to move the side branch began to train her as a servant fully. It was during this time that she became acquainted to a younger child, one that didn't treat her with the same disdain that the other Senju did. That boy was her only real friend - Nagato.
They were opposites in a way - she was powerless and he had power beyond belief. This made them a rather unlikely combo, but somehow they got along rather well. In a way her apparent powerlessness was likely what attracted the two to one another.
Life was not easy, but it was not that bad to her. She had a roof over her head, work and did not go hungry. The work was hard, but she found fulfillment in it, becoming somewhat of a perfectionist. By the time Konoha fell she was already able to freely wield the teachings of her master, but that was as much as she could learn from the man as he was one of those that perished.
Saya followed Nagato, not knowing what to do other than continue her task as a servant of the Senju. The incident however was a catalyst of sorts, awakening the innate desire of the clan within her, seeking to grow her own abilities further and further. The young woman would devote all of the free time she had to growing her abilities further.
Along the travels to Tsuchi and then to sand she managed to attract the attention of the Overlord. It was obvious she was still deemed worthless, however due to her interractions with Nagato it seemed like Kazuki had decided to try and do something about her problem, which unfortunately ended up failing. It wasn't surprising really. With her constitution she couldn't really survive what a shinobi would.
Her focus was once again solidified to improving her technique, diverting away from trying to use chakra herself and into a completely different track - drawing chakra into objects and using them instead. To avoid concerns regarding the having an average - below average chakra system she would still obviously be liable to follow any rules and would obviously be visible to any techniques used for chakra tracking.
This can be explained by the fact that she draws chakra from the environment into herself as a means of keeping heself fit.
