'Well this is exciting.' Harumi thought to herself.
Quivers of multiple different arrow types lined the walls of the proving grounds. These were her experimental weapon types, everything from arrow heads to a small javelin. She'd been taking more and more time off from the academy to make these, but now she was done. She probably had a lot of trouble stacked up for her back at the academy, but nonetheless, she was finished with these designs; and there were a lot of them.
Harumi went to her favorite design, the flash bomb arrow, she made a kunai as well, but the arrow was her preferred medium. Notching it on her string, she drew back and fired it, holding onto the long string that sparked a short fuse. When Harumi averted her eyes, she felt the heat of the mini explosion on her arm. Happy with her work, Harumi grabbed another arrow, this one was explosive tipped. She was more nervous about this one because it's fuse was longer, but not by much and it's explosion was enough to kill someone if shot right. With a mixture of gun powder and granite rocks, the somewhat clumsy projectile could explode and launch shrapnel into the air.
"The moment of truth...*sigh* Here we go." Harumi sighed exasperated, as she drew back the arrow.
Harumi made sure the area was clear before testing these, but still, best to avoid collateral damage. Harumi let her arrow fly and turned from the blast zone. The arrow hit it's location with a thunk, but that was it. Nothing else, not even a pop. Harumi turned slowly and looked puzzled when there wasn't a soot crusted crater in the ground.
"Well if it wasn't gonna make a crater, what was the point?!" Harumi shouted angrily as she stomped towards where her arrow laid on the ground.
