Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Personal NPCs
These are personal NPCs, controlled by a single player. They do not have stats.

NPCs of this type must be approved by your village council. If the NPC requires permission from other councils or teams (such as having a history involving a different PC or NPC country) then note it in your application so your council can forward it.

Restrictions
  • No NPC may be in more topics at a time than your PC is.
  • NPCs must obey traveling rules.
  • NPCs may only have a bmod called on them if they have provoked someone. Disputes of provocation are overseen by the relevant council(s) and/or admin.
    • NPCs can't leave a modded battle once a b-mod has been called without permission from everyone else in it. They can attempt to leave during the battle using retreat rules.
    • NPCs can't be targeted by 'spillover' attacks like AoE or 'hits all' attacks. However, if they are directly targeted they do not get a dodge roll and have 1 HP. (Theoretically, this means an NPC could also be targeted and 'kept safe' by a protective bind with HP like Ice Prison, or shielded behind a barrier.)
  • NPCs may only relay information about other threads they were physically present for.
  • When an NPC enters a thread, it must be clearly indicated that it is an NPC.
  • Living non-animal NPCs may normally apply for Kinjutsu.

Ghost NPCs
-Ghosts may not tell anyone who does not already know how they died.
-Ghosts can only enter threads with a PC/non-ghost NPC of the player who owns them.
-If the player wishes to have their ghost NPC enter a thread without their PC or non-ghost NPC, everyone in the thread must agree to allowing it.
-All players may view their own ghost NPCs. Ghosts not belonging to them may only be viewed by Ghost Walkers, Tsuchimikado, and Dark Sages.
  • The exception to this is if the owner of the ghost NPC states that their ghost NPC is making their presence known to everyone in the thread. Then a player that is not a Ghost Walker, Tsuchimikado or Dark Sage can view them. This means all in the thread can see them, the owner cannot pick and choose from people in the thread.

Specific to Pets/Animals
  • Contract summons, Inuzuka dogs, and messenger animals have their own rules.
  • Animals can only enter threads with a PC/non-animal NPC of the player who owns them.
    • If the player wishes to have their animal NPC enter a thread without their PC or non-animal NPC, everyone in the thread must agree to allowing it.

Specific to Messengers
  • NPCs used solely to carry a message do not need to be pre-applied for.
  • Messenger NPCs may be human or animal as desired.
  • Messenger NPCs may skip posting in the outer village zones when traveling, but still have to obey village gates.

Mod-Controlled NPCs
These are controlled by mod teams for use in official situations. May sometimes be controlled through a neutral council/team account, if so desired.

NPCs of this type must be voted on and approved by a majority of the group using them. If the NPC requires permission from other councils or teams (such as having a history involving a different PC or NPC country), then it must be also run by those teams.

Restrictions
  • NPCs of this type are for village functions (ex. an IC village council, noteworthy officials, recurring NPCs for longterm village plot arcs), not personal use. The usage of them in a thread must be approved by the majority of the team using them.
  • These NPCs may be controlled either through a specific council account or through the accounts of players on the mod team using them, as desired.
  • These NPCs may have stats in village-based and controlled events, however, these stats must be pre-approved by Admin, and can only be used in the event(s) specified when applied for.
  • If they are to travel, these NPCs must follow traveling rules.
  • Mod-Controlled NPCs may not be used as 'faceless' NPCs. They may only relay information about other threads they were physically present for.

Mission/Event NPCs
These are NPCs created by a mod or mods specifically for a mission, an event, or a chain of missions or events. They are permitted stats, but those must be pre-approved.

NPCs of this type which are created as combatants for a single mission do not need to have their stats pre-approved. Ones for multiple missions or any number of events at all do. This also applies to NPCs of this type created by a council specifically for an event or set of events.

Restrictions
  • NPCs of this type are created solely for their specified mission(s)/event(s) and may not be used outside of them, unless reapplied for/recreated as one of the other two types.
    • If the mission or event takes place across multiple countries or requires the NPC to enter a village other than the one they are from, the NPC does not have to follow travel rules for it. However, the player(s) controlling them must obtain permission to bring their mission/event and related NPCs into foreign locations.
  • Statted NPCs for a single mission and non-statted NPCs do not require pre-approval; however, if they cause issues, they are subject to review.
  • Statted NPCs for multiple missions or any number of events must be applied for in the same fashion as Mod-Controlled NPCs. If a single mission mod is applying for the NPC, the stats are subject to approval by their village council instead of admin.
  • If the mission/event NPC is not controlled by the council of the area as a whole, then permission must be obtained before the NPC inflicts any lasting, noticeable changes on the area.
  • Mission/event NPCs may not be used as 'faceless' NPCs. They may only relay information about other threads they were physically present for, or information that falls into the scope of 'required to know for the event.' Mission/Event NPCs can learn information from other involved NPCs 'offscreen', but may not be presumed to have relayed this information to general NPCs or PCs 'offscreen.'

Faceless NPCs
These are NPCs who do not need a name or face and exist just to be filler in a thread or as a function.

NPCs of this type are considered 'non-entities.' They do not exist outside of the temporary function they are being used for.

Restrictions
  • Faceless NPCs exist at village gates in order to record who has gone missing.
  • Faceless NPCs exist in crowds during events, missions, or normal threads that people can RP the crowd reaction of.
  • Faceless NPCs exist in one-off roles during RP threads--the waiter at a restaurant, the shopkeep who waves to passersby, etc.
  • Aside from the first point, Faceless NPCs cannot pass on information about other characters. Faceless NPCs can never pass on other information that is not considered common knowledge. (A good guideline on this is: if you have to ask if it is, the answer is no.)
