Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A smirk would appear on the Byakko descendant's face as he walked back into the Academy after what seemed like a lifetime had passed by. The last time that he had taught, there had been three vastly different students that were under his guidance as he explained to all of them the ways of a shinobi. However since that fateful encounter, he hadn't heard from or about them at all, but he wondered just how strong and grownup they had gotten since their initial encounter with him. See, many students had gone through his trials of teaching in the past and almost all of them had passed, but he had learned a great deal about each of them through his teachings and sadly many of them had vanished and never amounted to anything. It could be a curse some would say that Kyuji was a bad omen to students continuing their advancement as shinobi, but he didn't feel that way. No, he believed that many of them disappeared or quit being shinobi because they weren't cut out for it or they had been killed off. Both were unfortunate, but they were a part of life sadly.

But today was a new day as he had requested a classroom on the second floor and was granted it for teaching purposes. A flyer had been posted on the academy's bulletin and also sent out to all households that had children that were academy age about the class, but there was no true description. It merely stated that there was a class being taught by Byakko Kyuji on this day in roughly an hour from now. Hopefully, some folks would show up. Either way, Kyuji would go to the room and write a message on the board for the students along with leaving out a questionnaire and pencil for them to take when they arrived. The message on the board would read as followed:
Welcome! Please take a questionnaire and a pencil and begin to fill it out. I will be arriving soon to begin teaching you. I am excited so I hope you are as well.

-Byakko Kyuji

He would then leave the room and head to his office to mentally prepare himself. When the students would begin to arrive, they would see on the questionnaire the following questions and no sensei as the board alluded to:
1. Your Name:
2. Age:
3. Height:
4. Weight:
5. Any Known Medical Conditions:
6. Any Allergies:
7. Why Are You Here:
8. What Does It Mean to Be a Shinobi to You:
9. Who is your teacher today:
10. Describe what you think he looks like:
11. How old do you think he is:
12. Do you have a branch that you plan on joining when you graduate:
13. Cats or Dogs:
14. Your Gender:
15. A cool fact about yourself:

She had entered the classroom, which at this point in time, was rather empty. The first to arrive perhaps? Regardless she'd take a questionnaire as stated and started to fill it out. It was a bit odd, starting the class with no instructor, but she wouldn't be dettered by such a thing, and sat front and center in the class, paper in hand, and began to write.

1. Your Name: Kumi Chieko
2. Age: 8
3. Height: Short
4. Weight: How rude
5. Any Known Medical Conditions: None
6. Any Allergies: Olives
7. Why Are You Here: Make a world without war, so people don't have to lose their families.
8. What Does It Mean to Be a Shinobi to You: Be a great protector, one day I'd maybe like to be the Kazekage andmake some real changes to Sunagakure for the better, whatever those may be.
9. Who is your teacher today: A tardy taliyah
10. Describe what you think he looks like: Probably tall and brooding, Sunagakure lends itself to the type, we're no Konoha after all.
11. How old do you think he is: Much older than me.
12. Do you have a branch that you plan on joining when you graduate: I'd like to be an oracle, but I don't care the branch.
13. Cats or Dogs: Neither, I prefer birds.
14. Your Gender: Female
15. A cool fact about yourself: I prefer salad over sweets.
16. Draw me a picture:

At the last question she stared at it for a moment, and went to doodling what could only be described as fan art, of herself, as a bird ninja who was tall and brooding, with a clock in the background that said she was late. Already trying to model herself off her sensei, and even though she looked a bit brooding herself, being covered head to toe and not really looking like a joking type, the little quiz here showed she had a sense of humor.

While he was waiting for his students to arrive for their class today, the descendant of Byakko had taken this opportunity to fill out paperwork and read through records of students that were currently attending and had graduated from the Academy. The lists were long for both and it seemed a Renaissance of sorts was happening in the Academy which would benefit not only the teachers and facility there, but all branches of the village in the future so long as a majority of them kept working hard and always were willing to learn. In recent trends, there had been many shinobi who had either died or had to retire early on in their careers due to family crises or injuries sustained which had put a burden heavily on all branches, but especially the Medical Branch which is the one that he headed with other Chiefs when they were active. But in any case, the clock was ticking to the designated start time and it was best if he began to head over to his room so he wasn't too late since tardiness was inexcusable.

Luckily for him, it wouldn't take long since the room that he had assigned them to was relatively close to his office and he would make his presence felt as soon as he entered due to the obvious non-human characteristics along with being a six foot giant compared to the pint-sized children that graced the Academy. In any case, he would close the door behind him and notice that there was only one child in the room who had brown hair that went to her shoulders and appeared to be underweight though trying to hide it with her garb. Her eyes appeared to have seen some things as they appeared to reflect a sad aura towards him and her overall demeanor seemed a little standoffish and possibly a little quiet or shy. However, he couldn't just stand there and stare at her as that would be creepy and she had come for a lesson so he would give her a gentle, warming smile as he placed his left and only hand for her to place the paper in that she had been filling out.

As he waited for her to finish and hand it to him, he would look out the window at the beautiful day that was developing before returning his gaze to her and introducing himself with a smile: "Welcome to Class! I am a Medical Chief, an Oracle member, and the descendant of the celestial beast known as Byakko. My name is Byakko Kyuji and what is yours?"

At the very least, he was trying to be friendly and trying to get her to open up. Would she? He had no idea, but at least he was trying!

[OOC: The class can be before or after your other thread with Toraono Kuro as it does not affect me either way. On this site, we don't necessarily have people's plot-lines occurring depending on when the thread began irl. Like for example, I am in 6 threads including this and some of them are occurring later in time than the class. I guess what I am saying is merely RPing as you want and place topics in an order that fits you.]

Right as she finished up, the teacher entered the class. Another large man, no real demon characteristics as she had just witnessed before heading this way, so she wasn't as surprised as she would have been, had this been the first hulking man she'd seen. Her father was a rather average male height, and besides a few face scars that kept people at bay, her dad was nothing to write home about. So her frame of reference for men sizes was a bit askew.

"Welcome to Class! I am a Medical Chief, an Oracle member, and the descendant of the celestial beast known as Byakko. My name is Byakko Kyuji and what is yours?"

She handed over the paper, sitting up straight in the desk she had chosen, looking up into his eyes.

"My name is Kumi Chieko, mom says it means hidden beauty. Do all oracles announce they are such? I thought you were suppose to be super secret, like a double ninja! If so, your doing bad at your job." she said pretty plainly. "Sorry senpai, continue your lesson."

Once the dearest Byakko finished his introduction to her, she would hand him the piece of paper that he indirectly asked for with his hand. As soon as the contents of this paper were in his hand, he would begin to read it as the little girl would introduce herself and also give a little bit of a playful jab to him about speaking of the Oracles. The paper contained information that he expected from a student of the Academy which were vague answers for key information like height and weight; however, it also included her reasoning for being a shinobi and why she was gracing him with her presence today. Overall, the questionnaire provided enough information for him to work with moving forward with her as he had taken a significant amount of time to read over everything to give other students some time to enter the room, but it seemed like she was going to be getting a solo lesson today which were always his favorite since he didn't have to divide his attention!

After he was done with the questionnaire, he would place it on the desk in the front of the room and simply respond to her with a smile on his face: "Nice to meet you! As for keeping the Orders a secret, you may or may not be right about that but more importantly, I am ready to handle the consequences of telling you if someone or something decides to come after me. I mean one still doesn't have access to the Oracles' secret location in the country and will never find it unless they are given the proper instructions to get there or they are escorted or threaten an Oracle to take them there. Now, I see that you want to be an Oracle after you graduate from the Academy, why do you want to be one of us?"

He would then cross his arms in front of him as his golden feline-like eyes would gaze into her eyes as he awaited an answer. Of course, he wouldn't wait too long for a response before he would merely ask her the following: "Do you have any focus on what you want to do as a shinobi? You didn't care about the branch but do you want to focus on Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, or Taijutsu? I guess a more important question first is do you even know what they are?" Yes, it did seem that Kyuji was being direct with her as he needed to know what she wanted to do with her life so he could focus his lesson plan around her so he didn't waste her time at all. After all, parents or guardians were paying for the classes at the Academy and if their children were not getting the proper attention or teaching, it would fall back onto the shoulders of the instructors which included Kyuji.

[OOC:]
Just keeping track of requirements for class:
Kyuji: 3 of 5 posts needed and 1432 words of 1500 words needed
Chieko: 2 of 5 posts needed and 512 words of 1500 words needed

Also, don't sweat the requirements, you will reach them easily by the end of class because I am not rushing a class ^_^

Now, I see that you want to be an Oracle after you graduate from the Academy, why do you want to be one of us?"

"My dad has an old book, it's a family heirloom really, that has somewhat of a riddle in its texts when talking about the orders as they were long ago. I won't go into the boring details, but it hinted at it being at the sunagakure library, or rather the one that stood ages ago. Sunagakure doesn't strike me as a forward moving country, so it's probably located in our current library. How to get in though, still a mystery. As far why I want to be one, it's because knowledge is power, and I want to be the most powerful, second to none, not even the mythical mother suna. I can't stop the fighting, if I can be beaten."

She said pretty plainly, an air of seriousness surrounded her as she spoke. Her dad had tons of scars on his face and body from fighting the cabal when they invaded, she was only 3 at the time so her life was spent in her house doing nothing, but as she began to grow and remember, she wanted more than that, and so started learning things on her own. She learned to read and write on her own, she learned so many things at the libraries and through watching those around her. It's why she joined the academy at only 8, 4 years earlier than most kids. She was smart, well read, and wanted to absorb every bit of knowledge she could, she was aiming to be the youngest everything. Youngest to pass the academy, youngest to reach sennin, youngest kage, everything. It wouldn't be until she was the best, would she stop.

"Do you have any focus on what you want to do as a shinobi? You didn't care about the branch but do you want to focus on Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, or Taijutsu? I guess a more important question first is do you even know what they are?"

"I want to be good at everything, all at once. Taijutsu is hand to hand combat, focusing the physical aspects of yourself. Genjutsu is manipulating the mind, and honing your senses. Ninjutsu is bending the elements and chakra to your will." she took the writing utensil in her hand, and held it like a senbon. "Wood style, PENCIL JUTSU!" she yelled playfully, tossing her pencil across the room, it bouncing harmlessly off another desk and falling to the ground. She had no such affinity with the wood, but obviously knew a bit about the bloodline it belonged to.

It appeared at the very least that this student of his was passionate about her decisions that she had made in the present and the ones that she planned on doing in the not-so distant future. She already had a focus on a career path, but she wanted to be the master of everything it appeared which was something that very few shinobi throughout history have ever been able to do; to put it into perspective, many shinobi only focused on an affinity or two pertaining to Ninjutsu or focused entirely on a specific kind of Taijutsu or Genjutsu, but never all of them. Fortunately for some people, including her sensei for this lesson, he had a little bit of a quick learning gene inside of him and had been able to pick up on a multitude of Ninjutsu and nearly knew every single Genjutsu that was available to me excluding the special clan-related ones; but, he lacked in the taijutsu department for many reasons including the lack of a right arm for starters and sealing his physical strength away in a seal on his neck that was out of sight for personal reasons.

But, that was enough of explaining how "special" the descendant of Byakko was since we all knew he was special with his feline-traits for starters. It would merely be a few moments after she had finished speaking and showing off her "Pencil Jutsu" to him that he would respond. He had to admit, she was definitely into the class and talking to him which was more than he could say about other students who had come and gone through the Academy so he was at least pleased with that. "Very good brief introductions of the three basic types of jutsu. I am sure you also know that there are branch-specific jutsu along with Clan related ones as well so you will not be able to learn every single jutsu available to man unfortunately. However, you can come pretty damn close if you are really adamant about knowing everything. But, we should start off with a basic jutsu or more details on Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu. What would you like me to do and what else would you like to know?"

It was time to get the lessons under way or at least try to! He didn't think he would need to explain too much to her considering she seemed to be well-educated already due to her family or maybe spending time in the library studying since she hinted at wanting to be an Oracle. In any case, this class was going to be interesting in one way or another.

"I know, it infuriates me to think that some knowledge is lost to me from the get go, but I'll adapt. Since I know the basic details of every type of Jutsu, I'd like to start with learning some basic jutsu to go along with the knowledge. Build a foundation, if you will. I'll need to know the appropriate handseals, see you do them so I can copy them, and see where that leads us." she shifted her body around in her chair, anxious and ready to get to work, the first day of her ninja career started now. She just hoped she could grasp everything soundly, and without issue. Though she was ready for a failure or two along the way, she wouldn't put up with much more. It was obvious that she was very intelligent, considering an eight year old was using words like 'infuriating'. She was ready, she was present, she was excited to go, let's do this!

It wouldn't take long for his student to respond to him and she was ready to get the show started. Unfortunately, she probably hadn't paid attention to the appearance of the descendant of Byakko closely enough or she was too preoccupied with his feline-like features that were on full display. In either case, he would take his only hand and rub the back of his head as he chuckled slightly.

He would then respond to her direct and to the point, but she could still tell he wasn't in a terrible mood or anything. He was still welcoming and warm with his words, but that could change at any instance! He would speak the following: "Well, you may or may not have noticed, but I am lacking a right arm meaning I cannot do the handseals that are needed for you to learn. I have taught myself how to do one-handed seals however to accommodate for my lack of an arm. But, you will not be learning one-handed seals until you are further in your studies as you need to have the basics down before attempting a little more advanced. However, I can find another teacher or shinobi to demonstrate them to you and explain them to you as they demonstrate if that works for you. We will do the basic Body Switch and Transformation Jutsu, but please wait a moment as I find someone to assist me."

He would walk out of the room, closing the door behind him and getting on his headset calling for a special someone to assist him. The question was who would show? Only time would tell!

The young, lavender haired boy walked slowly through the Academy, thoroughly lost. He held the rather odd flyer in his hand, the paper still smoothed and crisp. He had a slight frown that marred his features, a larger one than he usually had on account of the natural shape of his lips. Masaru quite hated being stumped, being confused. He was already late as it was, and that was bad enough. Granted, he was lost because his eyes had rarely left the surface of the paper, as he'd pondered its delivery since he'd read it the first time.

Yes, his birthday had come fairly recently. And yeah, he had an affinity for Chakra... But the way it had shown up mysteriously one morning had only proved to him the existence of the shadowed skill of subterfuge a portion of Sunagakure held. They probably knew much about him already, which had peaked his curiosity of the whole subject to new heights. He already "knew" that he had some sort of preference for Genjutsu. Well, it was more like his parents knew somehow, and had hinted at it in subtle yet not-so ways.

His train of thought continued along this path, and had someone been able to read his mind, there was a good chance they would have been thoroughly lost after awhile. His non-linear lines of thought tended to stick to such a trend. He had gotten so lost in his own little world that he noticed the tall, feline-featured man towering above him only after he'd bumped into the man. He made no noise as he slightly rebounded, then looked up at the male's face from his shorter vantage point. His frown deepened before he noticed the number printed next to the door behind the man.

Masaru looked back to his paper, then back at the number, and his frown receded as he became satisfied for some reason. He took a step back and graced the shinobi with a short and quick bow, and kind of scurried into the classroom without a single word, as if he wasn't late and the class hadn't already been started. He plopped himself into the seat immediately next to the only other person in the classroom, his posture straight and hands clasped on top of the desk.

He was readied to sit there until the man returned, before he noticed the writing on the board. The boy read it twice before he got up and scurried to grab a sheet and a pencil, then went right back to the desk. With tongue stuck out in concentration, he scribbled his answers as fast as possible and ignored his surroundings until he'd finished.

Questionnaire said:
1. Your Name: Mizushima Masaru
2. Age: 8
3. Height: 5'6"
4. Weight: Some lbs
5. Any Known Medical Conditions: No
6. Any Allergies: No

8. What Does It Mean to Be a Shinobi to You: Yes
9. Who is your teacher today: Byyaki Yankiro
10. Describe what you think he looks like: Tall cat
11. How old do you think he is: 69
12. Do you have a branch that you plan on joining when you graduate: Orange
13. Cats or Dogs: DOG
14. Your Gender: What
15. A cool fact about yourself: I am not late
16. Draw me a picture:

Satisfied with his answers, he tossed the pencil next to the other one on the floor, and whistled a tune as if he were innocent.

As the descendant of the celestial being known as Byakko exited the room, a smaller figure would bump into him and give quickly give a polite bow before heading into the room. Apparently, he was going to have another student than he originally thought which was perfectly fine, but he still needed to make a call before he could resume the class due to his sheer lack of a right arm due to an accident that occurred when he fought his brother eons ago over something so petty when one would look back at it. It wouldn't take him long though to make the call and get confirmation that the one on the other end would be there shortly to assist him; the individual would arrive roughly ten minutes later with a smirk on their face due to the sheer fact that Kyuji actually needed their assistance with teaching since he was incapable of fulfilling their needs made them giggle to themself.

Within ten to fifteen minutes, the sensei of the class and his assistant would arrive back to the room. When his assistance entered, the students would easily tell that this woman had a striking resemblance to their sensei[click here]. It wouldn't take long however for them to know who she was as Kyuji would introduce her: "Class, this is my daughter, Kyushiko. She will be assisting me today due to my lack of a limb as I hinted at earlier with Chieko. She would be the next in line to run the Byakko Clan when her mother retires or passes. So please give her a warm welcome!"

Unfortunately before the kids or her dad could react at all, she would slam her hands on both of their desks as she got down to their height and stared both of them in the eyes before scooping up the paper that the newest kid had recently filled out. She would hand this back to her dad who would look over it as she began to speak: "Welcome to Class, Children. Are you ready to learn from father or would you rather try to take me on? It would be a good lesson either way for you two." Regarding the contents of the questionnaire, it would simply make Kyuji laugh to himself as these answers were a typical student's response before they grew up into a Genin. So immature, so irresponsible, and no real sense of purpose. That would all change in the coming weeks for them probably.

But anyways for now, he would step forward looking at his daughter as he spoke: "I told you why you were here. They are not killing them or maiming them in a fight as they wouldn't even put up a fight against you with how strong you have gotten. If you really want to fight, we can do it later when we go home and are off work. For now, we need to teach them some of the basic techniques so they can practice them, master them, and prove their worth to the Academy for graduation in the future." His gaze would then turn his eyes from their normal yellowish hues to a glowing yellow hue as he was trying to get his point across with his daughter, but she looked so scared to the point that she yawned at him being so serious. It might've been due to a lack of disrespect or simply his scare tactics didn't concern her since she was an ANBU and could see the facade. In either case, she was not phased.

In response to him, she would say: "You are no fun, Father. I wasn't going to kill them, but fine, I guess we can do that. What exactly do you two kids want to know in the way of jutsu? Transformation, Body Switch, a Clone jutsu? Since there are two of you, I pick the girl to decide what you learn first since girls are far superior to boys." After her last part, she would stick out her tongue in a playful mind. If one thing was for certain, these Byakko people were strange individuals to say the very least as they seemed like they were always trying to assert dominance and trying to be serious; they truly were some of the weirdest members of the village from their appearances to how they talked to pretty much everything.

The pair sat in silence as they waited, until, not one, but two tall individuals entered the room, and each bore cat-like features. One was their instructor, the other seemed a much more..... Feminine version of the man, and looked as if they were closely related. Which, seconds later, was confirmed from the man's own lips, proclaiming her his daughter. Masaru considered the fact that he was meeting not one, but two cat-people in a single day, which happened to be the same day he met his first. This caused him to become a bit more excited about his first lesson; it was already quite interesting, of course.

He frowned at the woman's first question, though. "Take her on?" Masaru didn't even know any jutsu, only the basics of. He hoped their original instructor would think about that, and would remove that from being an 'option'. Which he did..... In a rather rude-sounding manner, even if it wasn't meant to be. Masaru looked across the little way to his partner in lesson and wondered exactly what she thought about the lot of it. He knew he couldn't be the only one feeling a little lost by these looping turns of events.

The boy's frowned only deepened as the woman said that "girls are far superior to boys", though he couldn't quite tell if it was a joke or not. Though, he assumed it was such as she stuck out a tongue after the statement. This made Masaru lean forward, elbow on the table, and then rest the side of his face against his hand. Well, now he didn't have to try and give his own rebuttal to that..... But he certainly was going to rebuke something else she'd said.

The jutsu she had listed were.... Boring, and basic. Sure, he didn't know them, and probably should, be he knew what he wanted to learn about.... Genjutsu, the most mentally oriented of the three types. Genjutsu had always interested him to no end, and he felt that he'd benefit from learning it. "Though, body switching jutsu would be really good, too....." But, he'd always felt the best defense is a powerful offense, and Genjutsu was certainly powerful.

"You should teach us a Genjutsu," he answered defiantly, as he wasn't the person she'd been speaking of. "If we have powerful jutsu, like many Genjutsus, then we won't need any of those defensive maneuvers..... We'd win before we get pushed onto the defensive." He nodded once, as if he made absolute sense and he had the best train of thought. Which might not have exactly been true, but he surely thought he did.

The Byakko duo would stand at the front of the classroom looking at the female student as they were waiting for a response from her. She was after all the first student that entered the room and had selected what she wanted to learn from the descendant of Byakko which is why he asked for his daughter to show up; the other student showed up late to class and thus the polite and courteous thing to do was allow the lady who was learning to decide the content matter. Unfortunately that wasn't going to be the class as Masaru would blurt out that they should teach the students Genjutsu as neither of them would need these basic, defensive techniques as they wouldn't be pushed onto the defensive side. Now if this class had been a simple tutor lesson between a student and a teacher, that would've been a feasible option, but it was an actual class so they couldn't sway from the lesson plans that were decided upon, could they?

It appeared the answer to that question would be answered as Kyushiko would walk up to the desk of the boy and flick him on the side of his head. She would then slam her hands on his desk and stare at him with her feline-like eyes literally inches from his as they proceeded to glow. She would then give a small laugh at him before she proceeded to tear into him: "Masaru, you are an idiot. A young, naive idiot. You really think skipping over basic techniques and focusing on Genjutsu is going to save your ass? HA! You are just asking to get killed and ate by a sandworm. Don't waste my father or my time if you aren't going to take this lesson serious!" Luckily, the insulting towards him would stop as she rose from her position and bumped him on the head before proceeding to walk over to her father and telling him that this kid was an idiot.

However, the insulting in general would not stop as she would look at the girl in the room as she said the following: "Girl, speak! What do you want to learn or did the cat get your tongue? Actually, let me check if one did!" Before she could do this however, her father would put his hand on her shoulder and give her a glare that made her stop. He would then walk in front of her with his eyes closed and let out a sigh before reopening them. This class was not going as he expected especially with his daughter getting aggressive towards each student which was indirectly making his family's name and himself look bad. However, there was really nothing that he could do right now since things were spoken that couldn't be retracted now unfortunately.

He would just look at both students after a moment to calm himself and let the room calm itself from the storm that it just saw. Eventually, he would speak once again: "How about we learn the Transformation Jutsu first? We can do Genjutsu at a different date in a tutor session, Masaru. I asked my daughter to come here to help me since I can't exactly use handseals properly since I have only one arm and she is a busy woman. Can we all agree to that? We will do Transformation and Body Switch today." He hoped the tension in the room would simmer down as they continued along.

[OOC: As agreed upon with Chieko, we are going to void this thread. Also, Masaru went inactive anyways so the flow and what not of the thread is not there anymore.]
