General Description:
Yuzu's body does match one of a healthy child. She is slender with an overall athletic build and well proportioned arms and legs. If anything, she is a little on the smaller side (4'7") of things but that is only a minor thing one wouldn't really consider when looking at her overall appearence. She has a slightly rounded face without any really distinct feature, which in turn means that nothing distracts from the fact that she is rather cute. Her eyes are a solid grey color showing of only the faintest of her emotions and thoughts, they're rarely expressive except for when she get serious or angry. Shoulder length hair rests atop her head and frames her face. One will usually find a big ribbon bound into it at the back, tying some of the hair into a ponytail. Overall she looks pretty, but in a cute way which takes all threat away from her appearance, which didn't have much of a threatening look to it to begin with.
In terms of clothes, she is most of the time found to be wearing some of the more traditional variety in form of Obis and Kimonos, though Obis are preffered for being more practical. Her clothing choices are tied to the traditional way her Clan lives by, which is often times called 'outdated'. Now and more relevantly when she is older, she would fore example not dress in a way that would expose excess amounts of skin as that is seen as indecent and anyone else being seen done so is put into question unconsciously in Yuzu's mind.

The young students behaviour is also tied to the teachings of her clan, which as a family of Samurai is entwined closely with both Honor and Pride. 'To live honorable' is what has been told to Yuzu all her life, which makes it a surprise to her Family that the girl freely decided to join the Ninja Academy as the profession doesn't always have the choice of doing 'the right thing'. Yuzu though has her mind set on becoming a great Ninja everyone can be proud of and as the heir to the clan, secretly wishes to make everyone realize that there is potential in not only clinging to tradition. Her Pride comes mostly from what her Clans Position and achievements, even if those are not that prominent in the ninja world as it stands. Both these factors make it so that the usually well behaved and rather quiet, kind girl, does get angry when someone talks down on her clan, going so far as to challenge them to a duel. She is smart and driven, giving her a lot of potential, though real talent has so far only be seen in her swordsmanship as is a given by her blood. A part of her that might be seen as a flaw, is that she is really obedient of her superiors and shows a lack of forwardness in speaking her mind to adults.
History:
Born as the first an only child of the Iai clans main family, Yuzu had a lot expectations placed on her to in the future lead the clan. The Clan she was born into, was one that had been part of the main Nanjirou family hundreds of years ago, but eventually split itself apart from it and eventually found its home in Kumogakure. The can itself is made up solely of both Samurai and Blacksmith. Latter of the two garnering much more fame as the smithing products are well regarded through all of Kumo and earn the Clan the name of one of the top producers in terms of quality. They were a wealthy clan with little to no fame to their name. And that is already it, the Samurai they have produced in the recent decades are not worth mentioning in any Stories, as they for generations have clung on to only the sword. They are great weapon users that is for sure, but in terms of fighting capabilities they don't come close to any of the better Ninja as their one-way fighting style coupled with their honor is simply inferior. A few attempts have been made to send a descendant into the Ninja Academy, but countless times failure waited for them, which only furthered the clan to stick to themselves and their tradionilistic lifes and believes. Yuzu didn't have a particularly exciting life, she would be learning walking and talking like any other kid. The exception to her or rather in her clan, was that she basically grew up with a sword in hand her entire life. She turned out to not be one who would be particularly skilled or interested in the prcess of smithing weapons, which was fine with her parents really, it was instead that she was interested in Ninjas, which was what concerned them. Her father had failed as a ninja himself and was grinding teeth everytime it came up. Though training the sword every day and knowing there were no ninjas, the fire once sparked, wouldn't run out. Yuzu trained away in hopes she would get into the academy one day and despite her parents and family trying to talk her out of it, she would eventually even get a recommendation and request by the village to join the acaemy and happiy accepted. This was a first for the clan as none before had actually gotten an personal invitation and it was unclear how the girl had been 'chosen', which didn't easy the protests of Yuzu joining the academy. Espcially the branch families were against it, protesting they had to 'stick to their roots'. Yuzu, young as she was, realized that there was something wrong with the clan, but couldn't quite put into thoughts what exactly it was, she was too young for that, but wanted to show everybody she could do it to hopefully change their opinion. And so she would eventually join the academy and lead her life as a student, with particularly strength in Taijutsu and the theoretical parts.
