It may not be quite as early of a morning as it had been the last time the blind female was there, but that didn't change anything. Despite having walked the pathway to the mine only once before, she managed to make it there without getting lost. The workers there gave her a strange look, though she neither saw nor cared. A small girl wandering through a dangerous construction site must be an unusual occurrence, though anyone who had been there three days previous would possibly recognize her. Either way, she was stopped just before the entrance. "'m sorry, Missy. Y'can't go in there." Kimi sighed. Of course they would stop her. What business would she, a simple academy student, have in the mines. The mine she had rescued the miners from had been closed down until they could find some way to vent the flammable gas, so there wasn't anything pressing to warrant her being there. "This should clear things up." she handed a paper over to the man. It was a document, stating that she had permission to go back in to the mine for her mission. The man read it over, nodded, and handed it back to her. "Very well." he gestured for her to pass "But you's be careful, y'hear?" he called after her. Why did everyone seem to think that because she was small and blind, she couldn't handle herself? Shrugging it off, she made her way to the entrance, and pulled out her recorder. That fancy thing was becoming more and more useful the longer she had it.
"Alright. Here goes nothing. It's currently TWO TWENTY-ONE PM aw fuck, I really need to do something about the volume of this thing. Anyway. As the crazy loud voice said, It's currently two twenty-one pm. I'm heading into the tunnel. The gap I'm looking for should be about ten minutes in, but I don't think that's really a worry. It was really hard to miss last time. Setting an alarm just in case. Anyway. Here we go. It's just as dark in here as it was last time, the cold and stench can verify that. There can't be anything in here that would cause a fire, so nothing to use to keep warm except the clothes. I'm sure glad I remembered to wear my coat this time. Anyway. It's dark, quiet, and a little musty. The only sound is the echoes of my footsteps and voice as I make my way through the tunnel. It's slightly familiar. I can tell I've been here before, which is good, I suppose, since I have. Alright, last time I mentioned in my notes hearing a soft whisper. Maybe I should be quiet for a few moments to listen for...

[quieter] what...was...that...
fucking hell that was scary. I don't know what that was. It couldn't have been the same whisper I heard last time. I surely would have noticed that. ...or maybe it is? I wasn't really paying it as much attention as I am.. THIS IS YOUR PRE-SET ALARM! BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
[normal] GAH! Aw man. That was loud. But, this is ten minutes in. The pathway should be somewhere right about...AHA! Here it is. Just had to reach my foot out to the side a little bit and I found it. Well there we go. Step one of solving the mystery...complete. That's a good sign. Except that means that creepy whisper was what I heard last time. I don't like the thought of that. Oh well. I'm on a mission to figure out what's at the end of this tunnel. And that's what I'm going to do. So, here goes nothing.
I'll start by getting closer to the ground. The path is too short for me to walk through, but I think if I crawl I can fit..yep. For once I'm glad I'm so small. I don't think anyone any larger could fit through here. Even as I crawl, it's tight. It's really cramped. I know I don't usually have an issue with claustrophobia, but this is a little much. I sure hope it widens out soon en-
"sssshhhheeeee cooomeeeesssssssssss"
Well now that was creepy. What the fuck did that mean anyway. 'She Comes' Is someone out there? Waiting for someone? Waiting for me? No, there couldn't be. That wasn't like any human's voice I've ever heard. But it was very obviously speaking in a language I could understand. So what was it? Argh. I have to get out of this tunnel first. Anyway. Let's see. Crawling...crawling...crawling...oh hey! It's widening out. I can almost stand now...Yep. Now I can actually stand. Is that...heat? There's some sort of light source in here. But nothing that would cause the gas to catch. What could it be? That doesn't make any sense. Oh well. Anyway, let's see. What else is there around here. The room is mostly empty. It's almost like an entry chamber. The ground is made up. This isn't nature-made. Someone did this on purpose. Someone, or something. There's a door up ahead. It's locked...but, not in a conventional way. There's some sort of symbol...a key of sorts fits here...this is all so strange. Oh wait. That's right! Let me just...
[unidentifiable rustling followed by a loud crash, then a soft click]
[barely audible]There we go. I knew it was a good idea to bring a camera. Just because I can't see the picture doesn't mean someone else can't. Aw shit. I dropped the recorder [normal] didn't I. There. Everything's packed up best I can. Well. Can't go any further quite yet. Need more information first. But, I figured out what was at the end of the tunnel, so I'd call this mission complete. Now it's just time to head bac-

Yep. Time to get out of here and put as much distance between me and this creepy voice as I can."
Kimi retraced her path out of the cave with ease, her footsteps a little more hurried than when she went in. If anyone outside were to ask, she would simply explain that she was running late, though that wasn't the case. There was something about that voice that put her on edge. It was so familiar, yet she knew she had never heard it before. She had no way of knowing what it was. She could only hope the strange symbol and keyhole she found could give her some clues. She was going to need help deciphering it though. As she walked back to the academy, she ran through a list of people in her head. Surely somebody she knew would be willing to help her out. One way or another, the mystery will be solved.
